LUPINE™ LOOP ANCHOR SYSTEM

Please read all information carefully. Failure to properly follow instruc-
tions may lead to serious surgical consequences.
DESCRIPTION
The LUPINE Loop Anchor is designed for implantation within a
pre-drilled bone hole site and provides a means for firmly securing soft
tissue to bone using USP #2 suture. This operative suture is provided
without needles and is held in a USP #1 or #2 suture loop eyelet. The
anchor is preloaded on an inserter for open or arthroscopic repairs.
MATERIALS
Anchor: Polylactic Acid (PLA) absorption is expected to be essentially
complete in four years. D&C blue dye #6.
Suture: See package label for type:
1. PANACRYL® Poly (L-lactide/glycolide), braided absorbable suture.
PANACRYL sutures meet or exceed the USP tensile strength re-
quirements for non-absorbable and absorbable sutures. The results
of implantation studies of PANACRYL braided absorbable sutures
in animals indicate that approximately 80% of its original strength
remains 3 months after implantation. At 6 months post-implanta-
tion, approximately 60% of its original strength is retained.*

3. ORTHOCORD™ Suture is a synthetic, sterile, braided, composite
suture composed of dyed (D&C Violet #2 or D&C Blue #6) absorb-
able polydiaxanone (PDS) and un-dyed non-absorbable polyeth-
ylene. The partially absorbable suture is coated with a copolymer
of 90% caprolactone and 10% glycolide. The PDS copolymer has
been shown to be nonantigenic, nonpyrogenic and elicits only a
slight tissue reaction during absorption.

bone fixation in association with adequate postoperative immobilization

CONTRAINDICATIONS
• Surgical procedures other than those listed in the INDICA-
TIONS section.
• Pathological conditions of bone such as cystic changes or severe
osteopenia, which would inhibit the drilling of a precise hole or
compromise secure anchor fixation.
• Pathologic conditions in the soft tissue to be attached which would
impair secure fixation by suture.
• Comminuted bone surface which would compromise secure
anchor fixation.
• Conditions which would eliminate, or tend to eliminate, adequate
implant support or retard healing, i.e., blood supply limitation,
infection, tend to compromise the patient’s ability to heal, such as
cognitive state; require prolonged approximation of tissues under
stress, such as when wound healing is expected to be delayed
(e.g., steroid therapy, chemotherapy.)
• Attachment of artificial ligaments or other implants.
WARNINGS
Because the anchor is absorbable, immobilization by external support
should be employed. The LUPINE Loop Anchor is designed to lock into
cancellous bone. After removing the inserter, apply nominal tension
(approximately 8 lbs.) on the suture lengths to completely set the
anchor. Do not use excessive tension or overload the suture. Doing
so can lead to bone breakage and subsequent device pullout, or
suture breakage.
In the event that a LUPINE Loop Anchor must be removed, over-drill
the original insertion hole or use curettes to open the cortical surface.
Carefully remove the cancellous bone to expose the anchor. Use a
needle holder or forceps to grasp the anchor and remove it.
A LUPINE Loop Anchor must never be reused. In the event the anchor
should dislodge from the inserter or bone site, do not attempt to
reattach the anchor to the inserter. In this case, discard the anchor
and inserter, and use a new anchor.
As a braided suture, which is essentially absorbed over 1.5 to 2.5 years,
PANACRYL suture may act as a foreign body over an extended period
of time. The surgeon should consider whether use of an absorbable
braided suture is appropriate in specific situations such as in wounds
that carry an increased risk of infection or contamination.
Users should be familiar with surgical procedures and techniques
involving absorbable and non-absorbable suture before employing
ORTHOCORD suture for wound closure, as risk of wound dehiscence
may vary with the site of application and the suture material used.
Incomplete insertion or poor bone quality may result in anchor pullout.
PRECAUTIONS
• A surgeon should not attempt clinical use of the LUPINE Loop
Anchor before reviewing instructions for use.
• As with any suture anchor device, care should be taken to avoid
suture damage during insertion. Bony surfaces which may contact
the suture should be smoothed to avoid nicking.
• Residual bone fragments should be removed from the drilled hole
site because they may interfere with proper placement or seating of
the anchor.
• Proper seating of the device is required for optimal strength.
• In handling this or any other suture material, care should be taken
to avoid damage from handling. Avoid crushing or crimping dam-
age due to application of surgical instruments such as forceps or
needle holders.
• As with any suture material, adequate knot security requires use of
accepted surgical techniques for flat and square ties with additional
throws as warranted by surgical circumstance and the experience
of the surgeon.
• Users should exercise caution when handling surgical needles
to avoid inadvertent needle sticks. Discard used needles in
sharps containers.
• Use this anchor with a drill bit that generates a precise 2.9 mm
diameter hole of at least 18 mm in depth.
• Do not resterilize. After the package has been opened, discard any
unused suture anchor. Resterilization compromises the integrity of
the anchor system and/or anchor and may lead to serious surgi-
cal consequences.
• Use of a drill guide to stabilize the drill may help to achieve opti-
mal fit.
• If a drill guide is used, maintain the orientation of the drill guide to
the bone while drilling, as well as when removing the drill bit. This
helps ensure alignment of the anchor to the axis of the hole.

• Do Not twist or apply bending force to the inserter. Doing so may
damage the anchor, suture, or inserter tip.
• Excessive tension may overload the anchor or suture.
ADVERSE EFFECTS
Adverse effects of absorbable implanted devices include mild inflam-
matory and foreign body reactions. Broken needles may result in
extended or additional surgeries or residual foreign bodies. Inadvertent
needle sticks with contaminated surgical needles may result in the
transmission of blood-borne pathogens.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
(open or arthroscopic procedure)
1. Drill a hole in the bone at the desired location using a 2.9 mm
diameter DePuy Mitek Stabilization drill bit capable of generating a
hole depth of at least 18 mm. Read and follow the instructions for
the drill guide and drill bit.
2. Remove the LUPINE Loop Anchor System from its package using
standard sterile techniques.
3. Establish the axial alignment of the inserter to the hole. Insert the
anchor into the drilled hole (through a drill guide) to full depth by
firmly pushing on the inserter handle until the depth stop of the
inserter shaft reaches the bone surface.
The LUPINE Loop Anchor System requires application force (up to
approximately 5 lbs.) to insert into the hole when properly aligned with
the axis of the hole. If necessary, use a mallet to impact the proximal
end of the inserter to implant the anchor. If a drill guide is used, insert
the anchor into the drill guide while maintaining the original orientation
of the guide to the bone.
4. Release the sutures from the proximal suture handle. Remove
the threaded inserter from the anchor by rotating the inserter
counter-clockwise.
5. Apply tension (approximately 8 lbs.) on the suture lengths to set the
anchor in the bone.
6. Complete tissue reattachment.

DESCRIPCIÓN
El anclaje de lazo LUPINE está diseñado para la implantación
dentro de un orificio previamente perforado en el hueso y permite fijar
firmemente el tejido blando al hueso utilizando sutura calibre 2 USP.
Esta sutura quirúrgica se suministra sin agujas en un ojo de lazo de
sutura calibre 1 o 2 USP. El anclaje viene previamente cargado sobre
un insertador para reparaciones abiertas o artroscópicas.
MATERIALES
Anclaje: la absorción del ácido poliláctico (APL) tarda aproximada-
mente cuatro años. D&C colorante azul nº 6.

1. Sutura trenzada absorbible de poli (L-láctido/glicólido) PANA-
CRYL®. Las suturas PANACRYL cumplen o superan los requisitos
de resistencia a la tensión de la USP para suturas absorbibles y

la sutura absorbible trenzada PANACRYL en animales indican que
ésta conserva aproximadamente el 80 % de su resistencia original

3. Sutura ORTHOCORD™, una sutura estéril compuesta trenzada
sintética de polidioxanona absorbible teñida con violeta D&C N° 2

parcialmente absorbible está revestida con un copolímero de
90 % caprolactona y 10 % glicólido. Se ha comprobado que el
copolímero PDS es no antígeno, no pirógeno y sólo genera una
leve reacción del tejido durante la absorción.

CONTRAINDICACIONES
• Procedimientos quirúrgicos que no sean los enumerados en la
sección INDICACIONES.
• Condiciones patológicas del hueso, tales como alteraciones quísti-
cas u osteopenia grave, que pudiesen impedir la perforación de un
orificio preciso o menoscabar la fijación segura del anclaje.
• Condiciones patológicas del tejido blando que se desea fijar que
pudiesen menoscabar la fijación segura mediante sutura.
• Superficie ósea conminuta que pudiese menoscabar la fijación
segura del anclaje.
• Condiciones que pudiesen eliminar, o tender a eliminar, el apoyo
adecuado del implante o retardar su cicatrización (tales como
disminución de la irrigación sanguínea e infecciones), tender a
limitar la capacidad del paciente de cicatrizar (tales como estado
cognitivo) o requerir la aproximación prolongada de los tejidos bajo
tensión, por ejemplo, cuando se prevé una demora en la cicatriza-
ción (por ejemplo, terapia con esteroides, quimioterapia, etc.).
• Fijación de ligamentos artificiales u otros implantes.
ADVERTENCIAS
Debido a que el anclaje es absorbible, debe emplearse inmovilización
con un apoyo externo. El anclaje de lazo LUPINE está diseñado para
engancharse en hueso esponjoso. Después de retirar el insertador,
aplique una tensión nominal de aproximadamente 3,6 kg a lo largo de
la sutura para fijar el anclaje. No utilice tensión excesiva ni sobrecar-
gue la sutura ya que podría romper el hueso y hacer que el dispositivo
se salga de su lugar o romper la sutura.
En el caso de que sea necesario extraer un anclaje de lazo LUPINE,
vuelva a taladrar en el orificio de inserción original o utilice un par
de curetas para abrir la superficie cortical. Retire cuidadosamente el
hueso esponjoso para dejar expuesto el anclaje. Utilice un portaagujas
o pinzas para sujetar el anclaje y extraerlo.
Los anclajes de lazo LUPINE no deben reutilizarse. En el caso de que
el anclaje se salga del insertador o del orificio óseo, no intente volver a
fijarlo al insertador. En estos casos, deseche el anclaje y el insertador
y utilice un anclaje nuevo.

Como sutura trenzada, cuya absorción tarda aproximadamente de
1,5 a 2,5 años, la sutura PANACRYL puede actuar como cuerpo
extraño durante un tiempo prolongado. El cirujano debe considerar si
el uso de una sutura trenzada absorbible es adecuado en situacio-
nes tales como heridas que tienen un riesgo superior de infección
o contaminación.
Los usuarios deben encontrarse familiarizados con los procedimientos
y técnicas quirúrgicas que implican el uso de suturas absorbibles y no
absorbibles antes de utilizar la sutura ORTHOCORD para el cierre de
una herida, ya que el riesgo de dehiscencia de la herida puede variar
según el lugar de aplicación y el material de sutura utilizado.
La inserción incompleta o la mala calidad del hueso pueden hacer que
el anclaje se salga de su lugar.
PRECAUCIONES
• El cirujano debe leer detenidamente las instrucciones de uso antes
de proceder al uso clínico del anclaje de lazo LUPINE.
• Al igual que con cualquier dispositivo de anclaje con sutura,
deben tomarse las precauciones necesarias para evitar dañar la
sutura durante la inserción. Deben alisarse las superficies óseas
que pudieran entrar en contacto con ella para evitar la formación
de muescas.
• Deben retirarse los fragmentos óseos residuales del orificio realiza-
do ya que podrían interferir con la correcta colocación o fijación del
anclaje.
• Se requiere la fijación adecuada del dispositivo para su óptima re-
sistencia.
• Al manipular este o cualquier otro material de sutura, deben tomar-
se las precauciones necesarias para evitar dañarlo. Evite aplastar
o fruncir la sutura al utilizar instrumentos quirúrgicos como pinzas
o portaagujas.
• Al igual que con cualquier material de sutura, para que la sutura
quede fija en su lugar, utilice la técnica quirúrgica de uso general
de nudos planos y cuadrados, con lazadas adicionales según lo
permitan las circunstancias y la experiencia del cirujano.
• Los usuarios deben tener cuidado al manipular las agujas quirúrgi-
cas para evitar pinchazos accidentales. Deseche las agujas usadas
en recipientes para elementos cortantes.
• Utilice este anclaje con una broca que realice un orificio de un
diámetro exacto de 2,9 mm y al menos 18 mm de profundidad.
• No volver a esterilizar. Una vez abierto el envase, deseche los
anclajes de sutura no utilizados. Su reesterilización puede menos-
cabar la integridad del sistema de anclaje y/o del anclaje y llevar a
graves consecuencias quirúrgicas.
• El uso de una guía de taladro para estabilizar el taladro podría
ayudar a lograr un encaje óptimo.
• Si utiliza una guía de taladro, mantenga la orientación de la guía
respecto del hueso al perforar y al retirar la broca. Esto ayudará a
asegurar la correcta alineación del anclaje respecto del eje del ori-
ficio.
• No tuerza ni aplique fuerza de torsión al insertador. Si lo hace,
podría dañar el anclaje, la sutura o la punta del insertador.
• La tensión excesiva puede sobrecargar el anclaje o la sutura.
EFECTOS ADVERSOS
Los efectos adversos de los dispositivos implantados absorbibles
incluyen reacciones inflamatorias y a cuerpos extraños de carácter
leve. Las agujas rotas pueden requerir cirugías extendidas o adiciona-
les o dejar cuerpos extraños residuales. Los pinchazos accidentales
con agujas quirúrgicas contaminadas pueden dar como resultado la
transmisión de patógenos sanguíneos.
INSTRUCCIONES DE USO
(procedimiento abierto o artroscópico)
1. Taladre un orificio en el hueso en el lugar deseado utilizando una
broca de estabilización de DePuy Mitek de 2,9 mm de diámetro
capaz de realizar un orificio de al menos 18 mm de profundidad.
Lea y siga las instrucciones que acompañan la guía de taladro y la
broca.
2. Retire el sistema de anclaje de lazo LUPINE del envase utilizando
las técnicas estériles habituales.
3. Establezca la alineación axial del insertador respecto del orificio.
Introduzca el anclaje en el orificio perforado hasta el fondo (a
través de una guía de taladro) empujando firmemente el mango
del insertador hasta que el tope del eje del insertador toque la
superficie del hueso.
El sistema de anclaje de lazo LUPINE requiere la aplicación de
fuerza (hasta aproximadamente 2,3 kg) para su introducción cuando
se encuentra correctamente alineado con el eje del orificio. En caso
de ser necesario, utilice un martillo para golpear el extremo proximal
del insertador e implantar el anclaje. Si se utiliza una guía de taladro,
introduzca el anclaje en la guía manteniendo la orientación original
de la guía respecto del hueso.

4. Suelte la sutura del mango de sutura proximal. Retire el insertador
roscado del anclaje haciéndolo girar en sentido antihorario.
5. Aplique una tensión de aproximadamente 3,6 kg a lo largo de la
sutura para fijar el anclaje en el hueso.
6. Complete la refijación del tejido.
FORMA DE SUMINISTRO
El sistema de anclaje de lazo LUPINE se suministra estéril. NO VOL-
VER A ESTERILIZAR.
CONSERVACIÓN
Guardar en un lugar fresco y seco alejado de la humedad y de la
exposición directa al calor. No utilizar una vez transcurrida la fecha de
caducidad.

2. Questa sutura operativa viene fornita senza aghi e viene tenuta in un
occhiello ad ansa per suture USP misura 1 oppure 2. L’ancora è preca-
ricata su un introduttore per riparazioni a cielo aperto o artroscopiche.
MATERIALI
Ancora: si prevede che l’assorbimento dell’acido polilattico (PLA) ven-
ga essenzialmente completato in quattro anni. Colorante D&C blu N°6.
Sutura: ved. etichetta della confezione per il tipo:
1. PANACRYL® sutura assorbibile intrecciata poli (L-lactide/glico-
lide). Le suture PANACRYL soddisfano o superano i requisiti di
resistenza allo stiramento della farmacopea statunitense per suture
non assorbibili ed assorbibili. Da studi svolti sull’impianto di suture
assorbibili intrecciate PANACRYL condotti su animali, risulta che
circa l’80 % della resistenza originale rimane per 3 mesi dopo
l’impianto. Dopo 6 mesi dall’impianto, rimane circa il 60 % della
resistenza originale.*

sintetica composta da polidiossanone (PDS) assorbibile colorato

copolimero composto dal 90 % di caprolattone e dal 10 % di glico-

CONTROINDICAZIONI
• Interventi chirurgici diversi da quelli elencati nella sezione INDICA-
ZIONI.
• Condizioni patologiche dell’osso quali variazioni cistiche o grave
osteopenia, che potrebbero danneggiare la perforazione di un foro
preciso o compromettere un fissaggio sicuro dell’ancora.
• Condizioni patologiche nel tessuto molle da attaccare che pregiudi-
cherebbero un fissaggio sicuro della sutura.
• Superficie ossea comminuta che comprometta un fissaggio sicu-
ro dell’ancora.
• Condizioni fisiche che eliminino o tendano ad eliminare un ade-
guato supporto dell’impianto o ritardare la guarigione, ad esempio
limitato apporto ematico o infezioni; condizioni che tendano a limi-
tare l’abilità di guarigione del paziente, quali il suo stato cognitivo o
a richiedere un avvicinamento prolungato dei tessuti sotto sforzo,
come quando si prevede che la guarigione della ferita venga ritar-
data (ad esempio in caso di terapie con steroidei o chemioterapia).
• Collegamento di legamenti artificiali o altri impianti.
AVVERTENZE
Dal momento che l’ancora è assorbibile, utilizzare una immobilizzazio-
ne tramite un supporto esterno. L’ancora ad ansa LUPINE è prevista
per bloccarsi nell’osso spongioso. Dopo aver rimosso l’introduttore,
applicare tensione nominale (circa 3,6 kg) sulle lunghezze della sutura
per fissare completamente l’ancora. Non usare eccessiva tensione né
sovraccaricare la sutura. Ciò potrebbe causare la rottura dell’osso e la
successiva estrazione del dispositivo, oppure la rottura della sutura.
Nel caso sia necessario rimuovere un’ancora ad ansa LUPINE,
allargare il foro di inserimento originale o usare delle curette per aprire
la superficie corticale. Rimuovere attentamente l’osso spongioso per
esporre l’ancora. Usare un porta aghi o una pinza per afferrare l’ancora
e rimuoverla.
Non riutilizzare in alcun caso un’ancora ad ansa LUPINE. Qualora
l’ancora dovesse spostarsi dal punto dell’introduttore o dell’osso, non
tentare di riattaccarla all’inseritore. In questo caso, eliminare l’ancora
e l’introduttore e usare una nuova ancora.
Analogamente ad una sutura intrecciata, che viene generalmente as-
sorbita in un periodo compreso tra 1,5 e 2,5 anni, la sutura PANACRYL
può comportarsi come un corpo estraneo per un periodo di tempo
prolungato. Il chirurgo deve considerare l’adeguatezza dell’uso di una
sutura intrecciata assorbibile in situazioni specifiche come in caso di
ferite caratterizzate da un elevato rischio di infezione o contaminazione.
L’utente deve avere familiarità con le procedure e le tecniche chirurgi-
che riguardanti suture assorbibili e non assorbibili prima di utilizzare
la sutura ORTHOCORD per la chiusura di ferite, in quanto il rischio di
deiscenza della ferita può variare in base al punto di applicazione e al
materiale di sutura utilizzato.
Un inserimento incompleto o una scarsa qualità ossea possono causa-
re l’uscita dell’ancora.
PRECAUZIONI
• Il chirurgo deve procedere all’uso clinico dell’ancora ad ansa
LUPINE solo dopo aver letto attentamente le istruzioni per l’uso.
• Analogamente ad altri dispositivi di ancoraggio delle suture,
è necessario fare attenzione a non danneggiare la sutura durante
l’inserimento. È necessario rendere lisce eventuali superfici ossee
che possono entrare in contatto con la sutura, in modo che non
la danneggino.

• Eliminare eventuali residui di frammenti ossei dal punto di fresatu-
ra, in quanto potrebbero interferire con il corretto posizionamento o
alloggiamento dell’ancora.
• Per ottenere una tensione ottimale è necessario garantire l’esatto
alloggiamento del dispositivo.
• Durante la manipolazione di questo o di altro materiale per sutura,
fare molta attenzione a non provocare danni. Evitare schiacciamen-
ti o arricciature in seguito all’applicazione di strumenti chirurgici
quali pinze o porta aghi.
• Come in caso di qualunque materiale per sutura, per un’adeguata
sicurezza del nodo è necessario l’uso di tecniche chirurgiche ade-
guate per nodi piatti e quadrati con giri addizionali, come garantito
dalle circostanze chirurgiche e dall’esperienza del chirurgo.
• Gli utenti devono fare attenzione durante la manipolazione degli
aghi chirurgici per evitare punture indesiderate. Smaltire gli aghi
utilizzati usando contenitori per strumenti appuntiti.
• Usare questa ancora con una punta per fresa che generi un foro
preciso di 2,9 mm di diametro di almeno 18 mm di profondità.
• Non risterilizzare. Dopo l’apertura della confezione, eliminare ogni
ancora per suture non utilizzata. La risterilizzazione compromette
l’integrità del sistema di ancora e/o dell’ancora e può portare a
serie conseguenze chirurgiche.
• L’uso di una guida allo scopo di stabilizzare la punta o il punteruolo
può contribuire ad ottenere un fissaggio ottimale.
• Se si utilizza una guida, mantenerne l’orientamento verso l’osso
mentre si perfora, come durante la rimozione della punta per trapa-
no. Ciò contribuisce a garantire l’allineamento dell’ancora all’asse
del foro.
• Non torcere o piegare l’introduttore. In caso contrario, è possibile
danneggiare l’ancora, la sutura o la punta dell’introduttore.
• Una tensione eccessiva può sovraccaricare l’ancora o la sutura.
EFFETTI AVVERSI
Gli effetti avversi dei dispositivi assorbibili impiantati comprendono
lievi stati infiammatori e reazioni a corpi estranei. Eventuali aghi rotti
possono prolungare o richiedere ulteriori interventi chirurgici oppure
provocare corpi estranei residui. Eventuali punture con aghi chirurgici
contaminati possono causare la trasmissione di agenti patogeni di
origine ematica.
ISTRUZIONI PER L’USO
(procedura a cielo aperto o artroscopica)
1. Praticare un foro nell’osso, alla posizione desiderata, con una
punta per trapano di stabilizzazione DePuy Mitek da 2,9 mm di
diametro in grado di generare un foro con una profondità di almeno
18 mm. Leggere e seguire le istruzioni per la guida e per la pun-
ta per trapano.
2. Rimuovere il sistema di ancora ad ansa LUPINE dalla confezione
utilizzando tecniche sterili standard.
3. Stabilire l’allineamento assiale dell’introduttore rispetto al foro. Inse-
rire l’ancora nel foro fresato (tramite una guida) fino alla massima
profondità spingendo saldamente l’impugnatura dell’introduttore
fino a che il fermo di profondità dello stelo dell’introduttore non
raggiunge la superficie dell’osso.
Il sistema di ancora ad ansa LUPINE necessita di forza di applica-
zione (fino a circa 2,3 kg) per essere introdotto dopo essere stato
allineato correttamente con l’asse del foro. Se necessario, usare un
mazzuolo per battere l’estremità prossimale dell’introduttore allo scopo
di impiantare l’ancora. Se si usa una guida, inserire l’ancora in essa
mantenendo l’orientamento originale della guida rispetto all’osso.
4. Rilasciare la sutura dall’impugnatura prossimale della sutura.
Rimuovere l’introduttore filettato dall’ancora ruotandolo in sen-
so antiorario.
5. Per fissare l’ancora nell’osso, applicare tensione (circa 3,6 kg) sulle
lunghezze della sutura.
6. Completare il riattacco del tessuto.
CONDIZIONI DI FORNITURA
Il sistema di ancora ad ansa LUPINE è fornito sterile. NON RISTERI-
LIZZARE.
CONSERVAZIONE

BESCHREIBUNG
Der LUPINE Loop Anker ist zur Implantation in ein vorgebohrtes
Loch im Knochen bestimmt. Er dient der sicheren Fixierung von
Weichgewebe am Knochen mit Nahtmaterial der Stärke USP 2. Dieses
chirurgische Nahtmaterial wird ohne Nadeln geliefert und durch ein
Ankeröhr aus Nahtmaterial der Größe USP 1 oder 2 gehalten. Der
Anker ist auf einem Setzinstrument vorkonfektioniert und für offene
oder arthroskopische Rekonstruktionen vorgesehen.
MATERIALIEN
Anker: Polylaktidsäure (PLA) wird gewöhnlich innerhalb von vier
Jahren vollkommen resorbiert. D&C blaue Farbe Nr. 6.
Nahtmaterial: Angaben über Art des Materials sind dem Packungsauf-
druck zu entnehmen:
1. PANACRYL® – geflochtener, resorbierbarer Polyesterfaden aus
L-Laktid/Glykolid. PANACRYL Nahtmaterialien erfüllen alle Anforde-
rungen der USP (United States Pharmacopoeia), was Reißfe-
stigkeit für resorbierbare und nicht resorbierbare Nahtmaterialien
anbetrifft. Tierversuche mit PANACRYL haben gezeigt, dass 3
Monate nach der Implantation noch rund 80 % der ursprünglichen
Zugfestigkeit des Fadens vorhanden sind. 6 Monate nach der
Implantation sind noch ungefähr 60 % der ursprünglichen Reißfe-
stigkeit dieses Nahtmaterials vorhanden.*

3. ORTHOCORD™ ist ein steriles synthetisches, geflochtenes
Nahtmaterial, das aus D&C Violet #2 oder D&C Blue #6 gefärb-
tem, resorbierbarem Polydioxanon (PDS) und ungefärbtem, nicht
resorbierbarem Polyethylen hergestellt ist. Dieses teilweise
resorbierbare Nahtmaterial ist mit einem Kopolymer aus 90 % Ca-
prolakton und 10 % Glykolid beschichtet. Das PDS-Kopolymer hat
sich als nichtantigen und nichtpyrogen erwiesen und löst während
der Resorption nur sehr geringe Gewebereaktionen aus.

GEGENANZEIGEN
• Chirurgische Eingriffe, die nicht unter ANWENDUNGSGEBIETE
aufgelistet sind.
• Pathologische Knochenzustände, wie z. B. zystische Veränderun-
gen oder schwere Osteopenie, die das genaue Bohren eines Lo-
ches verhindern oder keine sichere Ankerbefestigung ermöglichen.
• Pathologische Zustände in dem zu befestigenden Weichgewebe,
die eine sichere Fixierung durch das Nahtmaterial beeinträchti-
gen würden.
• Fragmentierte Knochenflächen, die einer sicheren Fixierung des
Ankers entgegenwirken würden.
• Umstände, die eine ausreichende Unterstützung des Implantats
ausschließen oder die Heilung verzögern könnten, z. B. schlechte
Durchblutung und Infektionen, oder Umstände, die die Heilungs-
fähigkeit des Patienten beeinträchtigen, wie z. B. kognitives
Verhalten, oder die unter Stress die Gewebeadaption verzögern,
wenn z. B. eine schlechte Heilung der Wunde wegen Steroid- oder
Chemotherapie erwartet wird.
• Befestigung von künstlichen Bändern oder anderen Implantaten.
WARNHINWEISE
Da der Anker resorbierbar ist, sollte zur Unterstützung eine externe
Ruhigstellung vorgenommen werden. Der LUPINE Loop Anker kann
in spongiösen Knochen verankert werden. Nach Entfernen des Setzin-
struments den Faden unter normale Zugspannung (ca. 3,6 kg) setzen,
um den Anker vollständig im Knochengewebe zu verankern. Nicht zu
stark ziehen und den Faden nicht überlasten, da dies zu Knochen-
brüchen und Lösen des Ankers oder zum Reißen des Nahtmaterials
führen kann.
Falls der LUPINE Loop Anker wieder entfernt werden muss, das
ursprüngliche Bohrloch überbohren und die kortikale Oberfläche mit
einer Kürette öffnen. Dann das spongiöse Knochengewebe vorsichtig
entfernen, um den Anker freizulegen. Anker anschließend mit Nadel-
halter oder Pinzette herausziehen.
Der LUPINE Loop Anker darf nicht wiederverwendet werden. Falls der
Anker sich vom Setzinstrument oder Knochen lösen sollte, darf er nicht
erneut benutzt, sondern muss zusammen mit dem Setzinstrument
entsorgt werden. Anschließend dann einen neuen Anker benutzen.
Der geflochtene PANACRYL-Faden, der im Verlauf von 1,5 bis 2,5 Jahren
resorbiert wird, kann über einen längeren Zeitraum hinweg als
Fremdkörper agieren. Es liegt daher im Ermessen des Arztes, ob die
Verwendung von langzeitresorbierbarem geflochtenem Nahtmaterial
unter bestimmten Umständen, wie z. B. für Wunden mit erhöhtem
Infektions- oder Kontaminationsrisiko, geeignet ist.
Anwender sollten mit chirurgischen Verfahren und den Techniken
für die Verwendung von resorbierbarem und nicht resorbierbarem
Nahtmaterial vertraut sein, bevor ORTHOCORD Nahtmaterial für die
Wundschließung angewendet wird, da je nach Situs der Anwendung
und verwendetem Nahtmaterial das Risiko einer Wunddehiszenz
variieren kann.
Unvollständige Einführung des Ankers bzw. schlechte Qualität des
Knochenmaterials kann dazu führen, dass der Anker aus der Knochen-
bohrung herausrutscht.
VORSICHTSMASSNAHMEN
• Vor klinischer Verwendung des LUPINE Loop Ankers sollte der
Chirurg die Gebrauchsinformationen eingehend durchlesen.
• Wie bei allen Fadenankervorrichtungen muss darauf geachtet
werden, dass das Nahtmaterial während der Operation nicht
beschädigt wird. Harte knochige Flächen, die mit dem Nahtmaterial
in Berührung kommen können, sollten abgeglättet werden, um ein
Scheuern zu verhindern.
• Verbleibende Knochenreste müssen aus der Knochenbohrung
entfernt werden, da sie sonst die richtige Positionierung bzw. den
guten Sitz des Ankers beeinträchtigen können.
• Für optimale Stabilität des Ankers ist richtige
Positionierung unabdingbar.
• Beim Umgang mit Nahtmaterial muss stets darauf geachtet
werden, dass der Faden in keiner Weise beschädigt wird. Das
Nahtmaterial darf bei Verwendung von chirurgischen Instrumen-

ten, wie z. B. Pinzetten oder Nadelhaltern, nicht gequetscht oder
geknickt werden.
• Wie bei allen Nahtmaterialien setzt der sichere Halt des Knotens
die Verwendung allgemein anerkannter chirurgischer Techniken für
flache oder hohe Knoten mit zusätzlichen Verknüpfungen voraus.
Die Art der Verknotung kann von den operativen Umständen sowie
der Erfahrung des Chirurgen abhängen.
• Mit Operationsnadeln stets sehr vorsichtig umgehen, um unbe-
absichtigte Nadelstiche zu vermeiden. Nadeln nach Gebrauch in
einem Spezialbehälter für scharfe Gegenstände entsorgen.
• Dieser Anker sollte zusammen mit einem Bohrer verwendet
werden, durch den der Knochen mit einem Loch von genau 2,9 mm
Durchmesser und mindestens 18 mm Tiefe versehen werden kann.
• Das Produkt darf nicht erneut sterilisiert werden. Wenn unbenutzte
Fadenanker in einer geöffneten Packung zurückbleiben, müssen
diese sofort entsorgt werden. Erneutes Sterilisieren gefährdet die
Integrität des Ankersystems und kann zu ernsten chirurgischen
Komplikationen führen.
• Am besten den Bohrer mittels Bohrführung stabilisieren, um eine
optimale Einpassung des Ankers zu ermöglichen.
• Wenn eine Bohrführung verwendet wird, muss diese im gleichen
Winkel eingeführt und auch wieder herausgezogen werden. Da-
durch kann der Anker leichter axial ausgerichtet werden.
• Beim Einführen des Ankers das Setzinstrument nicht verdrehen
oder derart drücken, dass es durchbiegt. Dadurch können Anker,
Nahtmaterial oder Setzinstrumentspitze beschädigt werden.
• Außerdem kann der Anker oder das Nahtmaterial durch zu starkes
Ziehen übermäßig belastet werden.
NEBENWIRKUNGEN
Leichte Entzündungen und andere Fremdkörperreaktionen können als
Nebenwirkungen bei resorbierbaren Implantaten auftreten. Gebroche-
ne Nadeln können längere bzw. zusätzliche Operationen erforderlich
machen oder zum Zurückbleiben von Fremdkörperresten führen. Ver-
sehentliche Einstiche mit verunreinigten chirurgischen Nadeln können
zur Übertragung von im Blut enthaltenen pathogenen Keimen führen.
ANWENDUNGSHINWEISE
(offener oder arthroskopischer Eingriff)
1. Zum Bohren oder Vorbereiten des Knochenloches an der
gewünschten Stelle einen DePuy Mitek-Stabilisierungsbohrer mit
einem Durchmesser von 2,9 mm verwenden, mit dem ein minde-
stens 18 mm tiefes Loch vorbereitet werden kann. Dabei genau die
Gebrauchsinformationen für Bohrführung und Bohrer lesen und
befolgen.
2. Das LUPINE Loop Ankersystem gemäß aseptischer Technik aus
der Packung nehmen.
3. Das Setzinstrument axial am Bohrloch ausrichten. Anker mittels
Bohrführung ganz in das gebohrte Loch einführen und dabei fest
auf den Griff des Setzinstruments drücken, bis die am Schaft des
Setzinstruments befindliche Tiefenmarkierung mit der Knocheno-
berfläche gleich ist.
Das LUPINE Loop Ankersystem erfordert zum korrekten Einsetzen
in das Bohrloch einen gewissen Kraftaufwand (ca. 2,3 kg). Wenn
notwendig, einen Gummihammer verwenden, um beim Implantieren
des Ankers vorsichtig auf das proximale Ende des Setzinstruments
zu schlagen. Wenn eine Bohrführung verwendet wird, den Anker in
die Führung einsetzen und dabei die ursprüngliche Ausrichtung der
Bohrführung zum Knochen beibehalten.
4. Das Nahtmaterial vom proximalen Griff des Setzinstruments lösen.
Dann das mit Gewinde versehene Setzinstrument durch Linksdre-
hung vom Anker lösen.
5. Fadenenden anziehen (ca. 3,6 kg Zugkraft erforderlich), um den
Anker im Knochen zu fixieren.
6. Gewebe wie vorgesehen festnähen.
LIEFERUMFANG
Das LUPINE Loop Ankersystem wird steril geliefert. SYSTEM NICHT
ERNEUT STERILISIEREN.
LAGERUNG
Kühl und trocken aufbewahren. Nicht mehr nach Ablauf des Verfallsda-

DESCRIPTION
L’ancre à boucle LUPINE est conçue pour être implantée dans un
site osseux préforé et permettre la fixation de tissus mous sur l’os
à l’aide d’un fil de suture, déc.5 (USP 2). Ce fil de suture chirurgical
est fourni sans aiguille et maintenu dans un chas en boucle de suture,
USP 1 ou 2. L’ancrage est pré-chargé sur un introducteur pour effec-
tuer des réparations ouvertes ou arthroscopiques.
MATÉRIAUX
Dispositif d’ancrage : la résorption de l’acide polylactique (PLA) est
presque totale au bout de quatre ans. “Bleu D&C nº 6”.
Fil de suture : vérifier le type sur l’étiquette de conditionnement :
1. Fil de suture tressé en poly(L-lactide/glycolide) PANACRYL® résor-
bable. Les fils de suture en PANACRYL répondent ou dépassent
les conditions requises par l’USP en matière de résistance à la
traction pour les fils de suture résorbables et non résorbables.
Les résultats des essais d’implantation du fil de suture tressé
résorbable PANACRYL sur l’animal indiquent que, 3 mois après
l’implantation, environ 80 % de sa résistance initiale est conservée.
6 mois après l’implantation, environ 60 % de sa résistance initiale
est conservée.*

(stéroïdothérapie ou chimiothérapie, par exemple).

MISES EN GARDE
L’ancrage étant résorbable, une immobilisation au moyen d’un support
externe s’impose. L’ancrage à boucle LUPINE est conçu pour se caler
dans l’os spongieux. Après retrait de l’introducteur, appliquer une
tension (d’environ 3,6 kg) sur les longueurs de fils de suture afin de
fixer complètement l’ancrage. Ne pas trop tendre, ni surcharger le fil de
suture. Ceci pourrait casser l’os et entraîner un arrachage du dispositif
ou une rupture du fil de suture.
En cas de retrait nécessaire d’un ancrage à boucle LUPINE, forer
l’orifice d’introduction d’origine à un diamètre supérieur ou utiliser des
curettes pour ouvrir la surface corticale. Retirer l’os spongieux avec
précaution pour exposer l’ancrage. Saisir l’ancrage à l’aide d’un porte-
aiguille ou d’une pince et le retirer.
Ne jamais réutiliser un ancrage à boucle LUPINE. En cas de déloge-
ment de l’ancrage de l’introduction ou du site osseux, ne pas tenter
de refixer l’ancrage sur l’introducteur. Dans ce cas, jeter l’ancrage et
l’introducteur et utiliser un ancrage neuf.
Etant un fil de suture tressé résorbable, dont la durée de résorp-
tion s’établit sur 1,5 à 2,5 ans, le fil de suture PANACRYL peut agir
comme un corps étranger sur une période prolongée. Il appartient au
chirurgien de déterminer si l’emploi d’un fil de suture résorbable tressé
convient à des situations spécifiques telles que des plaies présentant
un risque accru d’infection ou de contamination.
Les utilisateurs doivent avoir une bonne connaissance des techniques
et principes chirurgicaux mettant en œuvre les fils de suture résorba-
bles et non résorbables avant d’utiliser le fil de suture ORTHOCORD
pour la fermeture d’une plaie, car le risque de réouverture de la plaie
peut varier en fonction du site d’application et du matériau du fil de
suture utilisé.
Une introduction incomplète ou une mauvaise qualité osseuse peut
provoquer l’arrachage du dispositif d’ancrage.
PRÉCAUTIONS
• Un chirurgien doit lire toutes les instructions avant de tenter une
utilisation clinique du dispositif d’ancrage à boucle LUPINE.
• Comme pour tout dispositif d’ancrage de suture, veiller à ne pas
endommager le fil de suture pendant l’introduction du dispositif. Les
surfaces osseuses susceptibles d’entrer en contact avec le fil de
suture doivent être lisses pour éviter de le sectionner.
• Les fragments osseux résiduels doivent être retirés du site de
l’orifice foré car ils peuvent entraver la mise en place ou l’insertion
correcte du dispositif d’ancrage.
• Une mise en place correcte du dispositif est indispensable à une
solidité optimale.
• Quel que soit le fil de suture utilisé, on veillera à éviter tout dom-
mage lors de sa manipulation. Éviter l’écrasement ou l’aplatisse-
ment du fil lors de l’application d’instruments chirurgicaux tels que
des pinces ou des porte-aiguilles.
• Comme avec tout fil de suture, la sûreté d’un noeud adéquat impo-
se l’emploi de techniques de noeuds chirurgicaux reconnues, plats

ou doubles avec harmoniques carrées et clés supplémentaires, si
nécessaire, selon les besoins dictés par le cas et l’expérience du
chirurgien.
• Les utilisateurs doivent veiller à éviter les piqûres accidentelles lors
de la manipulation des aiguilles chirurgicales. Jeter les aiguilles
usagées dans des conteneurs pour objets pointus.
• Utiliser cet ancrage avec un foret qui produit précisément un orifice
de 2,9 mm de diamètre et de 18 mm minimum de profondeur.
• Ne pas restériliser. Jeter tout ancrage de fil de suture inutilisé
après ouverture du conditionnement. La restérilisation compromet
l’intégrité du système d’ancrage et/ou de l’ancrage et peut avoir de
graves conséquences chirurgicales.
• L’utilisation d’un guide stabilisant le foret peut faciliter l’obtention
d’une adaptation optimale.
• En cas d’utilisation d’un guide mèche, maintenir son orientation
par rapport à l’os lors du forage, ainsi que lors du retrait du foret.
Ceci permet d’assurer un alignement correct de l’ancrage sur l’axe
de l’orifice.
• Ne pas tordre ni courber l’introducteur. Une telle manoeuvre pour-
rait endommager le dispositif d’ancrage, la suture ou l’extrémité de
l’introducteur.
• Une tension excessive peut surcharger le dispositif d’ancrage ou
la suture.
EFFETS INDESIRABLES
Les effets indésirables produits par les dispositifs résorbables
implantés comprennent de légères réactions inflammatoires et des
réactions aux corps étrangers. Les aiguilles cassées peuvent entraîner
la prolongation de l’intervention, d’autres actes opératoires ou la pré-
sence de corps étrangers résiduels. Des piqûres accidentelles par des
aiguilles chirurgicales infectées peuvent entraîner une contamination
hématogène.
MODE D’EMPLOI
(intervention ouverte ou arthroscopique)
1. Percer un orifice dans l’os à l’emplacement souhaité, en utilisant un
foret à stabilisation DePuy Mitek d’un diamètre de 2,9 mm capable
de pratiquer un orifice sur une profondeur d’au moins 18 mm. Lire
et suivre les instructions accompagnant le guide et le foret.
2. Retirer le système d’ancrage à boucle LUPINE de son conditionne-
ment en procédant selon une technique stérile standard.
3. Placer l’introducteur dans l’axe de l’orifice. Introduire l’ancrage à
fond dans l’orifice foré (par un guide) en poussant fermement sur la
poignée de l’introducteur jusqu’à ce que la butée de profondeur du
corps de l’introducteur atteigne la surface osseuse.
Le système d’ancrage à boucle LUPINE nécessite une force d’ap-
plication (d’environ 2,3 kg) pour l’introduction dans l’orifice en cas
d’alignement correct sur l’axe de celui-ci. S’il le faut, frapper l’extrémité
proximale de l’introducteur avec un maillet pour implanter l’ancrage. En
cas d’utilisation d’un guide, introduire l’ancrage dans le guide tout en
maintenant l’orientation d’origine de celui-ci par rapport à l’os.
4. Libérer le fil de suture de la poignée de fil de suture proximale.
Retirer l’introducteur fileté de l’ancrage en le faisant tourner dans
le sens anti-horaire.
5. Appliquer une tension (environ 3,6 kg) sur la longueur des sutures
pour fixer l’ancrage dans l’os.
6. Terminer la fixation des tissus.

in een botlocatie te worden geïmplanteerd. Het systeem verschaft
mogelijkheden voor het stevig fixeren van zacht weefsel aan bot met
behulp van USP hechtdraad dikte 2. Deze operatiehechting wordt
zonder naalden aangebracht en wordt gevat in een hechtlusoogje maat

anker voorgeplaatst op een inserter.
MATERIALEN
Anker: PLA (polylactic acid; polymelkzuur) is naar verwachting in vier
jaar volledig geresorbeerd. D&C blauwe verf no. 6.

1. PANACRYL® poly (L-lactide/glycolide) gevlochten, resorbeerbare
hechtdraad. PANACRYL hechtdraden voldoen aan de USP-trek-

materiaal, of overtreffen deze. De resultaten van implantatie-on-

CONTRA-INDICATIES

• Pathologische aandoeningen van het bot, zoals cysteuze verande-
ringen of ernstige osteopenie, waardoor het boren van een zuiver

gat wordt bemoeilijkt of de stevigheid van de ankerfixatie wordt
verminderd.
• Pathologische veranderingen in het zachte weefsel dat aan het bot
wordt gehecht, waardoor de stevigheid van de fixatie met hecht-
draad kan verminderen.
• Verbrijzeld botoppervlak, waardoor de stevigheid van de ankerfixa-
tie kan verminderen.
• Aandoeningen waardoor adequate ondersteuning van het implan-
taat wordt tenietgedaan of verminderd, of waardoor genezing wordt
vertraagd, zoals beperking van de bloedtoevoer of infectie, aandoe-
ningen die een bedreiging kunnen vormen voor het genezingsver-
mogen van de patiënt, zoals cognitieve stoornissen. Omstandig-
heden waarbij langdurige weefselbenadering onder spanning
noodzakelijk is, bijvoorbeeld wanneer een vertraagde wondheling
waarschijnlijk is (b.v. steroïdbehandeling, chemotherapie).
• Het aanbrengen van kunstligamenten of andere implantaten.
WAARSCHUWINGEN
Omdat het anker oplosbaar is, moet voor immobilisatie van uitwendige
steunhulpmiddelen gebruik worden gemaakt. Het LUPINE loopanchor
is zodanig ontworpen dat het ook in spongieus bot kan worden
vastgezet. Oefen, nadat u de inserter hebt verwijderd, nominale
spankracht (ca. 3,6 kg) op de hechtdraden uit, zodat het anker volledig
wordt vastgeklemd. Oefen geen overmatige kracht uit en overbelast het
hechtmateriaal niet. Overbelasting kan leiden tot botbreuk gevolgd door
losraken van het anker, of tot hechtdraadbreuk.
Indien een LUPINE loopanchor moet worden verwijderd, moet het
oorspronkelijk geboorde gat worden uitgeboord of moet het cortexop-
pervlak met curettes worden geopend. Leg het anker bloot door het
spongieuze bot voorzichtig te verwijderen. Grijp het anker vast met
behulp van een naaldhouder of tang en neem het anker uit.
Een LUPINE loopanchor mag nooit opnieuw worden gebruikt. Mocht
het anker uit de inserter of in de botlocatie losraken, probeer het dan
niet opnieuw aan de inserter te bevestigen. Bij losraken van het anker
moeten zowel het anker als de inserter worden afgevoerd en moet een
nieuw anker worden gebruikt.
De gevlochten hechtdraad PANACRYL is in de loop van 1,5 tot 2,5 jaar
volledig geresorbeerd en kan zich daarom langdurig als lichaams-
vreemd materiaal manifesteren. In bepaalde situaties, bijvoorbeeld
indien er sprake is van wonden met een verhoogd infectie- of besmet-
tingsrisico, dient de chirurg de afweging te maken of het gebruik van
oplosbaar gevlochten hechtmateriaal wel geschikt is.
Alvorens ORTHOCORD hechtdraad te gebruiken voor het hechten van
een wond, dienen de gebruikers vertrouwd zijn met chirurgische proce-
dures en technieken waarbij een resorbeerbare en niet-resorbeerbare
hechtdraad wordt gebruikt, omdat het risico van wonddehiscentie kan
variëren naargelang de plaats van de aanbrenging en het gebruikte
hechtmateriaal.
Door onvolledige insertie of slechte botkwaliteit kan uittrekking van het
anker worden veroorzaakt.
VOORZORGSMAATREGELEN
• Chirurgen dienen pas klinisch gebruik te maken van het LUPINE
loopanchor nadat zij de gebruiksaanwijzingen hebben bestudeerd.
• Evenals bij alle hechtanker-hulpmiddelen het geval is, moet men
bij het inbrengen voorzichtig te werk gaan, zodat beschadiging
van de hechtingen wordt vermeden. Botoppervlakken die met het
hechtmateriaal in aanraking kunnen komen, moeten glad worden
afgewerkt, zodat inkerving wordt voorkomen.
• Restfragmenten bot moeten uit het aangeboorde botgebied te
worden verwijderd. Deze kunnen een doelmatige plaatsing of fixatie
van het anker hinderen.
• Voor een optimale hechtsterkte is goede fixatie van het hulpmiddel
een vereiste.
• Bij het manipuleren van dit of enig ander hechtmateriaal moet men
voorzichtig te werk gaan, zodat schade als gevolg van het mani-
puleren wordt vermeden. Voorkom plet- of knikschade veroorzaakt
door het gebruik van chirurgische instrumenten, zoals pincetten of
naaldhouders.
• Evenals bij alle hechtmaterialen het geval is, vereist een adequate
knoopbeveiliging de toepassing van algemeen aanvaarde chirurgi-
sche technieken voor platte en vierkante knopen met extra slagen,
al naar gelang de chirurgische situatie en de ervaring van de
chirurg.
• Gebruikers moeten bij het hanteren van chirurgische naalden voor-
zichtig te werk gaan, zodat prikaccidenten worden vermeden. Voer
gebruikte naalden af in afvalcontainers voor scherpe voorwerpen.
• Gebruik dit anker met een boorbit waarmee een boorgat van
precies 2,9 mm diameter en een diepte van ten minste 18 mm
kan worden gemaakt.
• Niet opnieuw steriliseren. Werp ongebruikte hechtankers weg nadat
de verpakking is geopend. Hersterilisatie vormt een bedreiging voor

de ongeschondenheid van het ankersysteem en/of het anker, en
kan ernstige chirurgische consequenties hebben.
• Om de boor te stabiliseren kan men gebruik maken van een boor-
geleider; dit draagt bij tot een optimale passing.
• Indien men een boorgeleider gebruikt, moet de oriëntatie van de
boorgeleider ten opzichte van het bot zowel tijdens het boren als
bij het uitnemen van de boor constant blijven. Dit draagt bij aan
een zuivere lijning van het anker met de as van het boorgat.
• Draai het inbrenginstrument niet en oefen er geen buigkracht op uit.
Door draaien of buigen kan schade aan het anker, het hechtmateri-
aal of de insertiepunt worden veroorzaakt.
• Overmatige krachtuitoefening kan overbelasting van anker of
hechtmateriaal veroorzaken.
BIJWERKINGEN
Bijwerkingen van oplosbare geïmplanteerde hulpmiddelen zijn onder
meer lichte ontstekingsreacties en allergische reacties. Naaldbreuk kan
oorzaak zijn van verlenging van de operatieduur of van extra operaties,
of van het achterblijven van restjes lichaamsvreemd materiaal. Prikac-
cidenten met besmette chirurgienaalden kunnen overdracht van door
bloed transporteerbare ziekteverwekkers veroorzaken.
GEBRUIKSAANWIJZING
(open of arthroscopische ingrepen)
1. Boor op de gewenste locatie een gat in het bot, met behulp van
een DePuy Mitek stabilisatie-boorbit met een diameter van 2,9
mm, waarmee een boordiepte van ten minste 18 mm kan worden
bereikt. Lees de gebruiksaanwijzingen bij de boorgeleider en de
boorbit en voer deze uit.
2. Neem het LUPINE loopanchor systeem uit de verpakking met
gebruikmaking van de gangbare steriele technieken.
3. Bepaal de aslijn van de inserter ten opzichte van het boorgat.
Breng het anker tot de volledige diepte in het geboorde gat
(d.m.v. een boorgeleider) door stevig tegen de handgreep van het
insertie-instrument te duwen totdat de dieptestop van de inser-
tieschacht het botoppervlak bereikt.
Wanneer het LUPINE loopanchor systeem goed lijnt met de as van het
boorgat, is drukkrachtuitoefening (tot ca. 2,3 kg) nodig om het anker
in het boorgat in te brengen. Gebruik, indien nodig, een hamer om het
anker door middel van tikken op het proximale uiteinde van de inserter
te implanteren. Indien u een boorgeleider gebruikt, moet het anker in
de boorgeleider worden ingebracht. De oorspronkelijke oriëntatie van
de geleider ten opzichte van het bot moet daarbij gehandhaafd blijven.
4. Maak de hechtdraad los van de proximale handgreep van het
hechtinstrument. Maak de getapte inserter los van het anker door
de inserter linksom te roteren.
5. Oefen spankracht (ca. 3,6 kg) op de hechtdraden uit, zodat het
anker zich in het bot vastzet.
6. Voltooi herbevestiging van weefsels.
LEVERING
Het LUPINE loopanchor systeem wordt steriel geleverd. NIET OP-
NIEUW STERILISEREN.

Bewaren op een koele, droge plaats. Niet gebruiken na de uiterste

• Fractura cominutiva da superfície óssea, a qual impediria a fixação
segura da âncora.
• Condições que possam impedir ou tendam a impedir o suporte
adequado do implante ou retardem a cicatrização, tais como limi-
tação do aporte sanguíneo, infecções; que tendam a comprometer
a capacidade de cicatrização do paciente, como senilidade; que
exijam uma aproximação prolongada dos tecidos sob tensão, como
quando se prevê que a cicatrização seja retardada (por ex., nos

ADVERTÊNCIAS
Uma vez que a âncora é absorvível, deve ser utilizada imobilização

fixação em osso esponjoso. Depois de retirar o insersor, aplique ten-
são nominal (aproximadamente 3,6 kg) em toda a extensão da sutura
para fixar completamente a âncora. Não aplique tensão excessiva nem
sobrecarregue a sutura, pois poderá originar a fractura do osso e a
subsequente desinserção do dispositivo, ou a ruptura da sutura.
Caso seja necessário remover uma âncora de laço LUPINE, perfure
sobre o orifício de inserção ou utilize curetas para abrir a superfície
cortical. Remova cuidadosamente o osso esponjoso por forma a expor
a âncora. Utilize um porta-agulhas ou uma pinça para agarrar a âncora
e removê-la.
A âncora de laço LUPINE nunca deve ser reutilizada. Caso a âncora
saia do insersor ou do osso, não tente voltar a carregá-la no insersor.
Neste caso, descarte a âncora e o insersor e utilize uma nova âncora.
Sendo uma sutura entrançada, que é essencialmente absorvida ao
longo de 1,5 a 2,5 anos, a sutura PANACRYL poderá actuar como
um corpo estranho durante um longo período de tempo. O cirurgião
deverá ponderar se a utilização de uma sutura entrançada absorvível
é apropriada em determinadas situações, tais como ferimentos que
impliquem um risco acrescido de infecção ou contaminação.
Antes de utilizar a sutura ORTHOCORD para o fecho de feridas, os uti-
lizadores devem estar familiarizados com os procedimentos e técnicas
cirúrgicos que envolvam a utilização de suturas absorvíveis e não
absorvíveis, uma vez que o risco de deiscência da ferida pode variar
em função do local de aplicação e do material de sutura utilizado.
Uma inserção incompleta ou a fraca qualidade do osso poderão
originar a desinserção da âncora.
PRECAUÇÕES
• O cirurgião não deve iniciar o uso clínico da âncora de laço
LUPINE sem rever as instruções de utilização.
• À semelhança do que acontece com qualquer dispositivo de ânco-
ra de sutura, deve tomar-se o máximo cuidado para evitar danos
durante a inserção. As superfícies ósseas que possam entrar
em contacto com a sutura devem ser alisadas por forma a evitar
cortes.
• Os fragmentos ósseos residuais devem ser removidos do orifício
perfurado, pois podem interferir com a colocação ou posicionamen-
to adequados da âncora.
• O dispositivo tem de ficar correctamente colocado para garantir
uma resistência óptima.
• Ao manusear este ou qualquer outro material de sutura, deve
ter-se o máximo cuidado para evitar danos provocados por um
manuseamento incorrecto. Evite danos por esmagamento ou fle-
xão resultantes da aplicação de instrumentos cirúrgicos, tais como
pinças ou porta-agulhas.
• À semelhança do que acontece com qualquer material de sutura,
para garantir a segurança adequada dos nós, é necessário utilizar
as técnicas habituais de nós cirúrgicos com nós de reforço, de
acordo com as circunstâncias cirúrgicas e a experiência do cirur-
gião.
• Os utilizadores deverão tomar o máximo cuidado ao manusear
agulhas cirúrgicas para evitar picadas acidentais. Descarte as
agulhas usadas em recipientes para objectos cortantes.
• Utilize esta âncora com uma broca que perfure um orifício com um
diâmetro preciso de 2,9 mm e, pelo menos, 18 mm de profundida-
de.
• Não reesterilize. Uma vez aberta a embalagem, descarte qualquer
âncora de sutura que não tenha sido utilizada. A reesterilização
compromete a integridade do sistema de âncora e/ou da âncora
e pode ter consequências cirúrgicas graves.
• Poderá ser útil utilizar um guia de perfuração para estabilizar a
broca, por forma a obter um encaixe perfeito.
• Se utilizar um guia de broca, mantenha a orientação do guia em
relação ao osso durante a perfuração e a remoção da broca. Isto
ajuda a garantir o alinhamento da âncora com o eixo do orifício.
• Não aplique qualquer força de torção ou de flexão sobre o insersor.
Se o fizer, poderá danificar a âncora, a sutura ou a ponta do intro-
dutor.
• Uma tensão excessiva pode sobrecarregar a âncora ou a sutura.
EFEITOS ADVERSOS
Os efeitos adversos dos dispositivos implantados absorvíveis incluem
ligeiras reacções inflamatórias e reacções a corpos estranhos. A
quebra das agulhas poderá ter como resultado o prolongamento
da cirurgia ou uma cirurgia adicional, ou ainda corpos estranhos
residuais. As picadas acidentais com agulhas cirúrgicas contaminadas
podem ter como resultado a transmissão de agentes patogénicos por
via sanguínea.
