operation of the tube squeeze valve S-PILOT™
UP 501. All of the necessary details and actions
are clearly explained.

5. 1 Gerätebeschreibung
Das Schlauchquetschventil S-PILOT™ UP 501 mit
integriertem SCB-Modul dient zum Abklemmen
bzw. Freigeben eines Absaugschlauchs, welcher
an einen Vakuumbehälter angeschlossen ist.
Der Unterdruck wird mittels einer Absaugpumpe
oder über die zentrale Vakuumversorgung des
Krankenhauses erzeugt.
Das Schlauchquetschventil kann entweder direkt
oder indirekt angesprochen werden.
Im Direktbetrieb wird der Fußschalter 20 0141 30
an die Fußschalterbuchse des S-PILOT™ ange-
schlossen. Durch Betätigung des Fußschalters
öffnet das Ventil für die Dauer der Betätigung. Das
Ventil schließt, wenn das Aktivierungssignal nicht
mehr anliegt.
Das Schlauchquetschventil kann auch über den
Taster 2am S-PILOT™ geöffnet und geschlossen
werden (z. B. von unsterilem OP-Personal).
Beim indirekten Betrieb erfolgt die Aktivierung
des Schlauchquetschventils über ein an
das S-PILOT™ angeschlossenes Gerät. Die
Verbindung zwischen den Geräten erfolgt entwe-
der über die Fußschalterbuchse des S-PILOT™,
über die KARL|STORZ-SCB-Schnittstelle oder
über ein Verbindungskabel (UP 004/UP 005).

The tube squeeze valve S-PILOT™ UP 501 with
integrated SCB module is used to clamp off or
release a suction tube connected to a vacuum
reservoir. The underpressure is generated by a
suction pump or via the central vacuum supply of
the hospital.
The tube squeeze valve can be operated either
directly or indirectly.
When operated directly, the footswitch 20 0141 30
is connected to the footswitch socket on the
S-PILOT™. When the footswitch is actuated, the
valve opens for the duration of actuation. The
valve closes when the activation signal stops.
The tube squeeze valve can also be opened and
closed using the button 2on the S-PILOT™
(e.g.,|by unsterile OR staff).
When operated indirectly, the tube squeeze
valve is activated via a device connected to
the S-PILOT™. The devices are connected to
each other either via the S-PILOT™ footswitch
socket, the KARL|STORZ-SCB interface or via a
connecting cable (UP 004/UP 005).

5 Generalidades
5. 1 Descripción del aparato
La válvula de compresión S-PILOT™ UP 501 para
tubo flexible, con módulo SCB integrado, sirve para
estrangular o liberar un tubo flexible de succión
conectado a una cámara de vacío. La presión
negativa se genera con una bomba de succión o
mediante el suministro central de vacío del hospital.
La válvula de compresión para tubo flexible puede
funcionar de manera directa o indirecta.
En el caso de servicio directo, el interruptor de
pedal 20 0141 30 se empalma al conector del
interruptor de pedal de la válvula S-PILOT™. Al
accionar el interruptor de pedal, la válvula se abre
y permanece abierta durante el accionamiento. La
válvula se cierra al detenerse la señal de activación.

Beim Einsatz des HF-Chirurgiegerätes werden
Rauchgase erzeugt. Sind der S-PILOT™ und

verbunden, wird das Schlauchquetschventil
des S-PILOT™ automatisch bei Betätigung
des HF-Chirurgieinstruments geöffnet, so dass

Smoke gas is produced when operating the
surgical unit. If the S-PILOT™ and the HF surgical
unit are connected via the SCB interface, the tube
squeeze valve on the S-PILOT™ is automatically
opened when the HF surgical unit is activated
so that smoke gas is suctioned away and the
surgeon has an excellent view of the operation
site. As soon as the HF signal on the tube
squeeze valve stops, the valve closes again after a
time delay of 3|seconds.

gases de combustión. Si la válvula S-PILOT™ y el
aparato quirúrgico de AF están conectados a tra-
vés de la interfaz SCB, la válvula S-PILOT™ se
abre automáticamente al accionar el instrumento
quirúrgico de AF, de modo que el gas de combus-
tión es aspirado y el cirujano obtiene una buena
visibilidad sobre el campo operatorio. En cuanto se

S-PILOT™, so dass Flüssigkeit über das Vakuum

of the footswitch, the valve on the S-PILOT™
opens so that fluid can be suctioned via the
vacuum. If the footswitch is pressed into the
second stage, the motor system is additionally
activated. As the valve also stays open in the
second footswitch stage, tissue fragments which
have been removed from the shaver, including the
rinsing liquid can be suctioned away.

are connected to electrical medical

data processing devices). Furthermore,
all conǫgurations must comply with
the requirements for medical electrical
