The power LED 300 cold light fountain is designed
to supply light for endoscopic diagnostic and
surgical procedures.
The device offers a wide range of functions. These

6.2 Normal use
It is only allowed to use the power LED 300 light
source in combination with approved accessories
from KARL STORZ or with equipment that is
approved as safety-related uncritical.
Use of the device in elds other than those
indicated above is not allowed for safety reasons.

6.2.1 Indication
The device is intended to create light for
endoscopic diagnostic observation and surgical
procedures.
6.2.2 Contraindication
The medical device is contraindicated for
ophthalmologic interventions. Mandatory protection
lters for these kinds of interventions are not
implemented for the medical device.
For other interventions the responsible physician
must decide whether the foreseen application is
admissible based on the general condition of the
patient.
6.3 Intended use
Cold light sources are designed to supply light for
endoscopic diagnostic and surgical procedures.
6.4 User qualification
Only qualied doctors and medical assistant staffs
are allowed to use the power LED 300 light source
after training. The training has to be conducted
by skilled persons only. The area agency or the
responsible KARL STORZ sales representative is
available for trainings, for advices about further
training alternatives.
6.2 Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch
Die power LED 300 Lichtquelle darf nur in Kombi-
nation mit Zubehör oder Equipment verwendet
werden, das von KARL STORZ freigegeben
oder dessen sicherheitstechnisch unbedenkliche

6.2.1 Indikation
Das Gerät ist für die Erzeugung von Licht bei
endoskopisch diagnostischen Untersuchungen und
chirurgischen Eingriffen vorgesehen.
6.2.2 Kontraindikation
Das medizinische Gerät ist für ophthalmologische
Eingriffe kontraindiziert. Vorgeschriebene
Sicherheitslter für diese Art von Eingriffen sind
nicht in diesem Medizingerät implementiert.
Für andere Eingriffe muss der verantwortliche Arzt
entscheiden, ob die vorgesehene Anwendung
aufgrund des Allgemeinzustandes des Patienten
zulässig ist.
6.3 Zweckbestimmung
Kaltlichtquellen dienen zur Beleuchtung bei dia-
gnostischen und therapeutischen Anwendungen in
der Endoskopie.
6.4 Qualifikation des Anwenders
Nur qualizierte Ärzte und medizinisches
Fachpersonal dürfen die Kaltlicht-Fontäne
power LED 300 nach Einweisung/Training
verwenden. Die Einweisung darf nur durch
solche Personen erfolgen, die aufgrund ihrer
Kenntnisse dazu geeignet sind. Die zuständige
Gebietsvertretung oder der zuständige
KARL STORZ Außendienstmitarbeiter steht für die
Einweisung bei Ihnen und für Auskunft über weitere
Schulungsalternativen zur Verfügung.

6.2.1 Indicaciones
Este aparato está previsto para la producción
de luz en exploraciones endoscópicas con nes
diagnósticos e intervenciones quirúrgicas.
6.2.2 Contraindicaciones
Este aparato médico está contraindicado para
intervenciones oftalmológicas. En este aparato
no se han implementado los ltros de seguridad
prescritos para este tipo de intervenciones.
En otro tipo de intervenciones, el médico responsable
será el encargado de decidir si la aplicación prevista
está permitida debido al estado general del paciente.
6.3 Uso previsto
Las fuentes de luz fría sirven para la iluminación
durante aplicaciones diagnósticas y terapéuticas en
endoscopia.
6.4 Cualificación del usuario
Solo facultativos cualicados y personal médico
especializado que hayan sido instruidos/entrenados
en el uso de la fuente de luz fría power LED 300
pueden utilizarla. Únicamente las personas que
por sus conocimientos estén capacitadas para
ello deben encargarse de impartir la instrucción
en el manejo del equipo. Su representante local
o colaborador externo correspondiente de
KARL STORZ se encuentra a su disposición para
impartir esta instrucción en sus instalaciones y
para proporcionarle información respecto a otras
alternativas de formación.

6.5 Patientenprol

•Mindestens eine umfassende Einweisung in die
Bedienung des Gerätes
•Keine körperlichen Behinderungen, die die Wahr-
nehmung von Aktivierungs- und Alarmsignalen

power LED 300 muss der Patient mit der üblichen
medizinischen Sorgfalt behandelt und beobachtet

Vitalwerte und der Narkose mit ein.

The use of the power LED 300 is not limited to a
certain patient prole (sex, age, weight, etc.). The
attending physician must assess a patient's health
for the relevant application and declare it suitable.

6.7 Intended conditions of use
6.7.1 Use
The device is intended for use in hospitals and
doctors’ ofces. The technical data and ambient
conditions are described in the instruction manual.
It is the user’s responsibility to make sure the
device is safe and operates properly before using
it. During treatment using the power LED 300 cold
light fountain, the patient must be treated and kept
under observation with the usual medical care.
This includes keeping a check on the progress of
treatment, as well as monitoring the vital levels and
the anesthetic.

performed if visual observation of the action

Following installation and switching on of the
unit, the light source emits cold light from its light
port. The intensity of the light can be regulated by
pressing the + and – buttons in ‘jog mode’. The
current intensity is shown on the touchscreen. The
device always starts in Standby mode when it is
switched on. The most recently used light intensity
is always saved.

controlled by remote control or automatically,
provided the technical requirements for this
are satised.
