Etiquette for Cell Phone Use
●The use of cell phones is not
allowed in some places
・Do not use the cell phone
while you are driving. Doing
so is both dangerous and
prohibited by law.
・Using a cell phone in an
aircraft is prohibited by law.
Be sure to turn the cell phone
off.
●Radio waves from cell phones
may interfere with medical
electrical equipment
・Some people close to you in
busy places such as crowded
trains may be using a
pacemaker. Turn the cell
phone off in such places.
・Abide by the rules of hospitals
and other medical institutions
where it is forbidden to use or
carry cell phones.
●Be considerate of where you
use the cell phone and how
loudly you talk
・Do not make calls from
cinemas, theaters, museums,
libraries, and other similar
places. Turn the power off or
set the manner mode to
prevent others around you
from being inconvenienced
by ring tones for incoming
calls or mail.
・Do not use the cell phone in
places where you will be in
the way of others.
・Move to areas where you will
not inconvenience others on
trains or in hotel lobbies.
・Take care not to talk too loudly
during calls.
・Obtain the permission of other
people before you take their
photos with the cell phone's
camera.

Before Use

The battery pack is insufficiently charged at the time of
purchase. Before you use the cell phone for the first
time, charge the built-in battery pack.

How to Charge the Battery Pack

Connect the Toshiba AC adapter 02's power plug to a
100 V AC power outlet.
Connect the Toshiba AC adapter 02 to the desktop holder.
If you attach the attachment for data communication to the desktop holder, you can
perform data communication during charging.

Use the battery level indicator (see page 11) on the display as a guide for charging.
Hold the desktop holder while removing the A5506T.
Confirm that the charge indicator lights.

While the A5506T is closed and the battery pack attached,
insert it into the desktop holder as shown in the figure.
aWith inscription of the connector facing down, connect the Toshiba AC adapter
02 to the power terminal on the rear of the desktop holder.

Hold the tip of the antenna and fully extend the
antenna in the direction of the arrow.
Extending the Antenna
If the antenna is not fully extended, a sufficient signal may not be able to be sent and
received. Also, if the antenna is extended perpendicular to the ground, it is easier to
send and receive a signal.
When retracting the antenna, hold the base of the antenna and slide it straight back
into the A5506T. Holding the tip and using excessive force while retracting the
antenna may result in the antenna being damaged.

The initial settings include changing the lock number and setting the character size,
Caller ID, and incoming call ring tone.
You only need to make initial settings when first using the cell phone. Furthermore,
you can also change the initial settings later.
After making initial settings, you can switch the display language to English
(see page 20).
If you select (Do Not Setup), the initial settings are as shown below.
Even if you do not make the initial settings, you can still make and answer calls.
