Kensington SD2480T Thunderbolt 3 User manual

SD2480T Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C Dual 4K Hybrid Nano Dock.

1. Connect the power adapter.
1a. Connect the included AC adapter to the back of the dock.
1b. Connect the power cable to the adapter.
1c. Plug the power cable into a wall outlet.

2. Connect accessories to the dock.
2a. Connect USB-C 3.2 Gen2 accessories
such as an external hard drive (10 Gbps
up to 5V/1.5A).
2b. Connect headphones, if desired.
2c. Connect SD Card Reader (UHS-I,
SD3.0), if desired.
2d. Connect USB-A 3.2 Gen2 10 Gbps mobile
devices such as phones or tablets for fast
charging (BC1.2) with up to 5V/1.5A (for USB
Battery Charging 1.2-compliant devices).
2e. Connect Ethernet cable
(10/100/1000Mbps), if desired.
2f. Connect up to two monitors to the
two DP++ ports.
2g. Connect USB-A 3.2 Gen1 5 Gbps
(5V/0.9A) devices, if desired.

3a / 3b / 4. Connect your laptop (host device).
Use the included Thunderbolt 3 cable to
connect your laptop to the back of the dock
— this will charge your USB-C host device
(USB-C laptop must support DisplayPort Alt
Mode and Power Delivery).

5. Maximize performance.
5a. Optionally, install Kensington DockWorks™
software for the best connection, performance, and
security from your Kensington dock.
5b. Make sure you have the most recent version of
Windows or macOS [Windows 10 and macOS 11
(Big Sur) or later] for the best system performance.
5c. Adjust settings to maximize resolution for your
setup (Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C 3.2 Gen2 Alt Mode,
1 or 2 DP++ ports, 1 or 2 monitors).

6. Approve device.
Approve the device by clicking OK on the following prompt: “Thunderbolt devices were attached. In order to approve them for use this application must be run with
administrative privileges. Click OK to run the Thunderbolt software with administrator privileges.”
6.1 / 6.2. Manage Thunderbolt 3 devices and settings by clicking “View Attached Devices,” “Manage Approved Device,”or “Settings” from the Thunderbolt application menu.
