Informationen zum Vorbild
Geschwindigkeit war das Zauberwort in der Eisen-
bahngeschichte der 30er-Jahre im 20. Jahrhundert.
Die Suche nach immer schnelleren Verbindungen
zwischen den Großstädten hatte zwangsläufig auch
immer schnellere Lokomotiven und Triebwagen zur
Folge. Bei den Dampflokomotiven gipfelte diese
Entwicklung in der BR 05. Dieses Modell beeindruckte
mit Treib- und Kuppelräder mit einem Durchmesser
von 2,30 Meter und der aerodynamischen Vollver-
kleidung. Ausgelegt auf eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit
von 175 km/h durchbrach eines der beiden gebauten
Exemplare am 11. Mai 1936 bei Versuchsfahrten knapp
die magische Grenze von 200 km/h.
Nach dem 2. Weltkrieg wurden die beiden Modelle der
BR 05 aufgearbeitet und ab 1951 von der Deutschen
Bundesbahn im Plandienst eingesetzt. In diesem
Zeitraum wurden die Modelle ohne Verkleidung einge-
setzt. 1958 wurden die beiden Fahrzeuge ausgemus-
tert. Die 05 001 wurde wieder in den ursprünglichen
Zustand mit Verkleidung umgebaut und steht seit 1963
im Verkehrsmuseum Nürnberg.
Information about the Prototype
Speed was a magic word in the railroad history of the
1930s. The search for faster and faster connections
between major cities resulted in increasingly faster
locomotives and powered rail cars. With steam loco-
motives, this development peaked in the class 05.
This model was impressive with its 2.30 meter / 90-
9/16” diameter driving wheels and full aerodynamic
streamlining. Designed for a maximum speed of 175
km/h or 109.38 mph, one of the two units built broke
through the magic barrier of 200 km/h or 125 mph in
test runs on May 11, 1936.
After World War II both of the models of the class 05
were overhauled and were used in regular service
by the German Federal Railroad starting in 1951.
During this period these units were run without
streamlining. In 1958 both of the locomotives were
retired. No. 05 001 was restored to its original
condition with streamlining and has been in the Nürn-
berg Transportation Museum since 1963.

La vitesse était le mot d’ordre en vigueur dans les
administrations ferroviaires au cours des années 30 du
20e siècle. Le fait de vouloir des liaisons toujours plus
rapides entre grandes villes impliquait obligatoirement
le développement de locomotives et automotrices
toujours plus rapides. Celui des locomotives à vapeur
a atteint son point culminant avec la série 05. Prévues
pour rouler à une vitesse maximale de 175 km/h, les
impressionnantes machines de cette série disposaient
de roues motrices et accouplées de 2,30 de diamètre et
d’un complet revêtement aérodynamique. Un des deux
exemplaires construits a atteint le 11 mai 1936 le seuil
magique des 200 km/h lors d’un parcours d’essai.
Après la Seconde Guerre mondiale, les deux locomo-
tives ont été modifiés et mises en service régulier par
la Deutsche Bundesbahn à partir de 1951. Durant cette
période, elles ont été utilisées sans revêtement. Les
deux engins ont été finalement radiés en 1958. La 05 001
a été remise dans son état d’origine avec carrosserie
aérodynamique et repose depuis 1963 au Musée du
Transport à Nuremberg.

Snelheid was het toverwoord bij de spoorwegen in de

treinstellen nodig waren. De top in de ontwikkelingen
bij stoomlocomotieven werd bereikt met de BR 05.
Dit model was indrukwekkend door zijn aandrijf- en
koppelwielen met een doorsnede van 230 cm en zijn
volledige aërodynamische beplating. Ontwikkeld voor
een maximumsnelheid van 175 km/h, doorbrak één van
de twee gebouwde exemplaren bij een proefrit op
11 mei 1936 krap de magische grens van 200 km/h.
Na de tweede wereldoorlog werden de beide model-
len van de BR 05 opgeknapt en vanaf 1951 bij de Deut-
schen Bundesbahn in de dienstregeling opgenomen.
In deze tijd werden de locomotieven zonder beplating
gebruikt. In 1958 werden beide machines buitendienst
gesteld. De 05 001 werd weer in de oorspronkelijke
staat, met bekleding, teruggebracht en staat sinds
1963 in het verkeersmuseum in Neurenberg.

Sicherheitshinweise
• Die Lok darf nur mit einem dafür bestimmten Be-
triebssystem (Märklin Wechselstrom-Transformator
6647, Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital oder Märklin
Systems) eingesetzt werden.
Nur Transformatoren verwenden, die Ihrer
örtlichen Netzspannung entsprechen.
Keinesfalls Transformatoren für eine Netzspan-
nung von 220 V bzw. 110 V einsetzen.
• Die Lok darf nur aus einer Leistungsquelle gleich-
zeitig versorgt werden.
• Beachten Sie unbedingt die Sicherheitshinweise in
der Gebrauchsanleitung zu Ihrem Betriebssystem.
• Für den konventionellen Betrieb der Lok muss
das Anschlussgleis entstört werden. Dazu ist das
Entstörset 74046 zu verwenden. Für Digitalbetrieb
ist das Entstörset nicht geeignet.
Die bei normalem Betrieb anfallenden Wartungsar-
beiten sind nachfolgend beschrieben. Für Reparatu-
ren oder Ersatzteile wenden Sie sich bitte an Ihren
Märklin-Fachhändler.
Jegliche Garantie-, Gewährleistungs- und Schadensersatzansprüche
sind ausgeschlossen, wenn in Märklin-Produkten nicht von Märklin
freigegebene Fremdteile eingebaut werden und / oder Märklin-Produkte
umgebaut werden und die eingebauten Fremdteile bzw. der Umbau für

Remarques importantes sur la sécurité
• La locomotive ne peut être mise en service qu’avec
un système d’exploitation adéquat (Märklin courant
alternatif - transformateur 6647, Märklin Delta,
Märklin Digital ou Märklin Systems).
Utilisez uniquement des transformateurs corres-
pondant à la tension secteur locale.
Nútilisez en aucun cas des transformateurs
pour une tension de secteur de 220 V, respecti-
vement 110 V.
• La locomotive ne peut être alimentée en courant
que par une seule source de courant.
• Veuillez impérativement respecter les remarques
sur la sécurité décrites dans le mode d’emploi votre
système d’exploitation.
• Pour l’exploitation de la locomotive en mode
conventionnel, la voie de raccordement doit être
déparasitée. A cet effet, utiliser le set de déparasi-
tage réf. 74046. Le set de déparasitage ne convient
pas pour l’exploitation en mode numérique.
Tout recours à une garantie commerciale ou contractuelle ou à une de-
mande de dommages-intérêt est exclu si des pièces non autorisées par
Märklin sont intégrées dans les produits Märklin et / ou si les produits
Märklin sont transformés et si les pièces d’autres fabricants montées
