Preußische G 8.1 – Serie G der SJ
Die preußische Güterzug-Dampflokomotive der Gattung
G 8.1 entstand als Weiterentwicklung der G 8. Die ersten
Lokomotiven wurden im Jahr 1913 abgeliefert. Waren von
der G 8 etwas über 1000 Lokomotiven gebaut worden,
war der G 8.1 ein Erfolg beschieden wie kaum einer ande-
ren Lokomotive zuvor. 4934 Loks wurden an die Königlich
Preußische Eisenbahn-Verwaltung (KPEV) und zuletzt an
die Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (DRG) geliefert.
Unter den Fabriknummern 1609 - 1628 lieferte
Linke-Hofmann im Jahre 1918 20 Stück G 8.1 mit den
Betriebsnummern 1408 - 1427 an die Schwedische
Staatsbahn. Sie glichen in ihren Abmessungen den preu-
ßischen Lokomotiven vollkommen. Die meisten dieser
Lokomotiven wurden in Schweden umgebaut, so z.B. mit
Dampfbremse , spitzer Rauchkammertür, Frostschutz und
geschlossenem Führerhaus ausgerüstet.
Beim vorliegenden Modell, der Nr. 1414, unterblieb
jedoch dieser aufwändige Umbau und man beließ es bei
den vorderen, roten, schaufelförmigen Bahnräumern und
dem zusätzlichen Kohlenkastenaufsatz aus Holz.
Die SJ bestellte noch 15 Lokomotiven in Schweden nach,
wobei jeweils 5 Maschinen von den Firmen Nohab,
Motala und Falun gebaut wurden.
Erst 1973 wurden die letzten Lokomotiven dieser Serie
ausgemustert.
Prussian G 8.1 – Serie G of SJ
The class G 8.1 Prussian freight steam locomotive was
a further development of the G 8. The first locomotives
were delivered in 1913. While something over 1,000 units
of the G 8 were built, the G 8.1 was a success like no
other locomotive before it. A total of 4,934 locomotives
were delivered to the Prussian Railroad Administration
(KPEV) and to the German State Railroad Company
(DRG).
In 1918, Linke-Hofmann delivered 20 of the G 8.1 under
the production numbers 1609 - 1628 and as road num-
bers 1408 - 1427 to the Swedish State Railroad. They
were the identical in their dimensions to the Prussian
version of these locomotives. Most of these locomotives
were rebuilt in Sweden, and were equipped for example
with steam brakes, with a conically shaped smoke box
door, protection against frost, and enclosed cabs.
The model being offered here, road number 1414, was
not taken through this expensive rebuilding and only the
red, shovel-shaped pilot pieces and the wooden addition
to the coal bunker was installed on this locomotive.
The SJ later ordered another 15 locomotives in Sweden,
of which 5 units were built by the firms Nohab,Motala,
and Falun.
The last of the locomotives in this series were not retired
until 1973.

G 8.1 prussienne – Serie G de SJ
La locomotive à vapeur prussienne pour trains de mar-
chandises de la catégorie G 8.1 résultait d’un développe-
ment de la G 8. Les premières locomotives furent livrées
en 1913. Si les G 8 furent construites à plus de 1 000
exemplaires, la G 8.1 se révéla être un tel succès qu’à
peine une autre locomotive construite auparavant pouvait
soutenir la comparaison. 4 934 locomotives furent livrées
d’abord à la Königlich Preussische Eisenbahn-Verwaltung
(KPEV) et ensuite à la Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft
(DRG).
En 1918, Linke-Hofmann livra aux Chemins de fer
Suédois 20 unités de G 8.1 sous les numéros de fab-
rique 1609 à 1628, immatriculées 1408 à 1427. Leurs
dimensions correspondaient exactement à celles des
locomotives prussiennes. La plupart de ces locomotives
furent transformées en Suède et équipées par exemple
de freins vapeur, d’une porte conique pour la boîte à
fumée, d’une protection contre le gel et d’une cabine de
conduite fermée.
Le présent modèle, numéro 1414 de la série, ne bénéficia
toutefois pas de ces transformations coûteuses et con-
serva ses chasse-pierres avant rouges en forme de pelles
ainsi qu’une rehausse en bois de la soute de tender.
La SJ commanda encore 15 locomotives en Suède, les
firmes Nohab, Motala et Falun fournissant respectivement
5 de ces machines.
Ce n’est qu’en 1973 que les dernières locomotives de
cette série furent réformées.

De Pruisische goederentreinstoomlocomotief van het type
G 8.1 ontstond als verdere ontwikkeling van de G 8. De
eerste locomotieven werden in 1913 afgeleverd. Hoewel
er van de G 8 iets meer dan 1.000 locomotieven gebouwd
waren, was de G 8.1 een succes beschoren als nauwelijks
een andere locomotief daarvoor. 4.934 locs werden aan
de Königlich Preussische Eisenbahn-Verwaltung (KPEV)
en als laatste aan de Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft
(DRG) geleverd.
Onder de fabrieksnummers 1609 -1628 leverde Linke-
Hofmann in 1918 20 stuks G8.1 met de bedrijfsnummers
1408 - 1427 aan de Zweedse staatsspoorwegen. Qua af-
metingen waren ze gelijk aan de Pruisische locomotieven.
De meeste locomotieven werden in Zweden omgebouwd.
Ze werden bijv. met een stoomrem, spitse rookkamerdeur,
vorstbeveiliging en een gesloten machinistenhuis uitge-
rust. Bij dit model, met bedrijfsnummer 1414, beperkte
deze omvangrijke ombouw zich tot de rode lepelvormige
baanruimers aan de voorkant en de extra houten kolen-
bunkeropzet.
De SJ bestelde in Zweden er nog 15 locomotieven bij,
waarvan de firma’s Nohab, Motala en Falun elk 5 locomo-
tieven bouwden.
Pas in 1973 werden de laatste locomotieven uit deze
serie buitendienst genomen.

Sicherheitshinweise
• Die Lok darf nur mit einem dafür bestimmten Betriebs-
system (Märklin Wechselstrom-Transformator 6647,
Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital oder Märklin Systems)
eingesetzt werden.
Keinesfalls Transformatoren für eine Eingangsspannung
von 220 V - für USA 110 V - verwenden.
• Die Lok darf nur aus einer Leistungsquelle gleichzeitig
versorgt werden.
• Für den konventionellen Betrieb der Lok muss das
Anschlussgleis entstört werden. Dazu ist das Entstörset
74046 zu verwenden. Für Digitalbetrieb ist das Entstör-
set nicht geeignet.
• Beachten Sie unbedingt die Sicherheitshinweise in der
Gebrauchsanleitung zu Ihrem Betriebssystem.
Safety Warnings
• This locomotive is to be used only with an operating
system designed for it (Märklin 6646/6647 AC transfor-
mer, Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital or Märklin Systems).
Under no circumstances should transformers rated for
an input of 220 volts be connected to the American 110
volt household current system.
• This locomotive must never be supplied with power
from more than one transformer.
• The feeder track must be equipped to prevent inter-
ference with radio and television reception, when the
locomotive is to be run in conventional operation. The
74046 interference suppression set is to be used for
this purpose. The interference suppression set is not
suitable for digital operation.
• Pay close attention to the safety warnings in the
instructions for your operating system.

Remarques importantes sur la sécurité
• La locomotive ne peut être mise en service qu’avec
un système d’exploitation adéquat (Märklin courant
alternatif - transformateur 6647, Märklin Delta, Märklin
Digital ou Märklin Systems).
N’utilisez en aucun cas de transformateurs pour une
tension à l’entrée de 220 V - 110 V pour les Etats-Unis.
• La locomotive ne peut être alimentée en courant que
par une seule source de courant.
• Pour l’exploitation de la locomotive en mode conven-
tionnel, la voie de raccordement doit être déparasitée.
A cet effet, utiliser le set de déparasitage réf. 74046. Le
set de déparasitage ne convient pas pour l’exploitation
en mode numérique.
• Veuillez impérativement respecter les remarques sur
la sécurité décrites dans le mode d’emploi en ce qui
concerne le système d’exploitation.

In geen geval transformatoren met een ingangsspan-

• De loc mag niet vanuit meer dan één stroomvoorziening
gelijktijdig gevoed worden.
• Voor het conventionele bedrijf met de loc dient de
aansluitrail te worden ontstoort. Hiervoor dient men
de ontstoor-set 74046 te gebruiken. Voor het digitale
bedrijf is deze ontstoor-set niet geschikt.
• Lees ook aandachtig de veiligheidsvoorschriften in de
gebruiksaanwijzing van uw bedrijfssysteem.

Aviso de seguridad
• La locomotora solamente debe funcionar en un sistema
de corriente propio (Märklin corriente alterna – transfor-
mador 6647 – Märklin Delta – Märklin Digital o Märklin
Systems).
En ningún caso utilizar los transformadores para una
tensión de entrada de 220 V (en el caso de EE.UU. esta
tensión es de 110 V).
• La locomotora no deberá recibir corriente eléctrica mas
que de un solo punto de abasto.
• Para el funcionamiento convencional de la locomotora
deben suprimirse las interferencias en la vía de conexi-
ón de la alimentación. Para ello debe emplearse el set
supresor de interferencias 74046. El set supresor de
interferencias no es adecuado para el funcionamiento
en modo digital.
• Observe bajo todos los conceptos, las medidas de
seguridad indicadas en las instrucciones de su sistema
de funcionamiento.

A tale scopo si deve impiegare il corredo antidisturbi
74046. Tale corredo antidisturbi non è adatto per il
funzionamento Digital.
• Vogliate prestare assolutamente attenzione alle avver-
tenze di sicurezza nelle istruzioni di impiego per il Vostro
sistema di funzionamento.

Säkerhetsanvisningar

nell/analog drift måste anlutningsskenan vara avstörd.
Till detta använder man anslutningsgarnityr 74046 med
avstörning och överbelastningsskydd. Avstörningsskyd-
det får inte användas vid digital körning.
• Beakta alltid säkerhetsanvisningarna i bruksanvisningen
som hör till respektive driftsystemet.
Vink om sikkerhed
• Lokomotivet må kun bruges med et driftssystem
(Märklin vekselstrøm-transformator 6647, Märklin Delta,
Märklin Digital eller Märklin Systems), der er beregnet
dertil.
• Transformatorer, der er beregnet til indgangsspændin-
gen 220 V, må aldrig tilsluttes til 110 V i USA.
• Lokomotivet må ikke forsynes fra mere end én strømkil-
de ad gangen.
• Ved konventionel drift af lokomotivet skal tilslutnings-
sporet støjdæmpes. Dertil skal anvendes støjdæmp-
ningssættet 74046. Støjdæmpningssættet er ikke egnet
til digital drift.
• Vær under alle omstændigheder opmærksom på de
vink om sikkerhed, som findes i brugsanvisningen for
Deres driftssystem.
