Information zum Vorbild
1950 beschloss die Deutsche Bundesbahn die dringende Moder-
nisierung ihres Fuhrparks mit der Beschaffung von Elektrolokomo-
tiven mit überwiegend standardisierten Bauteilen und erteilte an
alle bedeutenden Lokomotivfabriken den Auftrag, entsprechende
Vorschläge auszuarbeiten.
Ab 1956 bis 1971 wurden insgesamt 451 Loks der Baureihe E 41
beschafft. Sie sollte für mehrere Jahrzehnte nicht nur den Nah-
verkehr von den Alpen bis zur Küste prägen. Man kann die ge-
lungene Konstruktion als eine Universallokomotive bezeichnen,
da sie in ihrer langen Betriebszeit so ziemlich alles vorspannte,
was der Zugverkehr erlaubt. Ihre Stammaufgabe blieb der Nah-
verkehr, vornehmlich im Wendezugbetrieb mit Silberlingen. Auf
Grund der geforderten geringeren Achslast, die sich auf zwei
zweiachsige Drehgestelle verteilte, konnte die E 41 problemlos
auf den elektrifizierten Nebenbahnen eingesetzt werden.
Der ölgekühlte Transformator bekam ein Schaltwerk auf der
Niederspannungsseite, was zu einer für die Baureihe E 41
charakteristischen Geräuschentwicklung führte. Die Höchst-
geschwindigkeit der 15,62 m langen Lok betrug 120 km/h. Als
die Bundesbahn die Höchstgeschwindigkeit für Schnellzüge
Ende der 1950er-Jahre auf 140 km/h anhob, wurden weitere
E 41 ausschließlich in grüner Lackierung ausgeliefert, da das
elegante Blau nur schnellen fernverkehrtauglichen Lokomotiven
vorbehalten war.
Ab Anfang der 1990er-Jahre wurde die Baureihe 141 immer mehr
von der Baureihe 143 verdrängt und durch die Umstellung des
Nahverkehrs auf Triebwagen schrumpfte ihr Bestand zusehends.
Information about the Prototype
In 1950, the German Federal Railroad decided to go ahead with
the urgent modernization of its motive power with the purchase of
electric locomotives with predominantly standardized components
and contracted with all of the important locomotive builders to come
up with appropriate suggestions.
A total of 451 class E 41 locomotives were purchased between
1956 and 1971. For several decades they left their stamp on
more than just the commuter service from the Bavarian Alps to
the German coast. This successful design can be considered
as a general-purpose locomotive, since it was used as motive
power for practically every kind of train service during its long
service life. Its traditional task remained commuter service, in
particular in push/pull operation with “Silberlinge / Silver Coins“
commuter cars. Due to the required low axle load distributed
over 2 two-axle trucks, the E 41 could be used with no problem
on electrified branch lines.
The oil-cooled transformer was equipped with a relay layout on
the low voltage side, which was the source of a characteristic
noise on the class E 41. The maximum speed for this 15.62 meter
/ 51 foot 3 inch long locomotive was 120 km/h / 75 mph. When
the German Federal Railroad raised the maximum speed for
express trains at the end off the Fifties to 140 km/h / 88 mph, E 41
locomotives coming after that were only painted in green, since
the elegant blue was reserved only for fast locomotives in long
distance service.
At the start of the Nineties, the class 141 was being increasingly
replaced by the class 143, and its roster decreased more due to the
switch to powered rail cars for commuter service.

Informatie van het voorbeeld
In 1950 besloot de Deutsche Bundesbahn tot de dringende moder-
nisering van het voertuigenpark met de aanschaf van elektrische
locomotieven met overwegend gestandaardiseerde onderdelen
en droeg alle belangrijke locomotieffabrieken op de betreffende
voorstellen uit te werken.
Vanaf 1956 tot 1971 werden in totaal 451 locs van de serie E 41
aangeschaft. Die moest voor meerdere decennia niet alleen
het buurtverkeer in de Alpen maximaal bedienen. Men kan de
geslaagde constructie als een universele locomotief aanduiden,
omdat ze in haar lange inzettijd, ongeveer alles trok wat er maar
aan treinverkeer bestaat. Haar basisopdracht bleef het buurt-
verkeer, voornamelijk in het keertreinbedrijf met Silberlingen.
Vanwege de geëiste geringere asdruk die over twee tweeassige
draaistellen verdeeld werd, kon de E 41 probleemloos op de
geëlektrificeerde zijlijnen ingezet worden.
De oliegekoelde transformator kreeg een schakelwerk op de
laagpanningskant, wat tot een voor de serie E 41 karakteristieke
geluidsontwikkeling leidde. De maximumsnelheid van de 15,62 m
lange loc bedroeg 120 km/h. Toen de Bundesbahn de maximums-
nelheid voor sneltreinen eind jaren 1950 naar 140 km/h verhoogde,
werden meer E 41 uitsluitend in de groene kleurstelling afgeleverd,
omdat het elegante blauw alleen aan snelle locomotieven die voor
de lange afstand bedoeld waren, voorbehouden was.
Vanaf begin jaren 1990 werd de serie 141 steeds meer door de
serie 143 verdrongen en door de reorganisatie van het buurtver-
keer op treinstellen kromp haar bestand zienderogen.
Informations concernant la locomotive réele
Avec l’acquisition de locomotives électriques construites essentiel-
lement à partir d’éléments standardisés, la Deutsche Bundesbahn
opta en 1950 pour la modernisation urgente de son parc traction
et chargea toutes les usines importantes de locomotives de
l’élaboration de projets correspondants.
Au total, 451 locomotives de la série E 41 furent acquises entre
1956 et 1971. Cette construction réussie ne marqua pas uni-
quement le trafic de courte distance des Alpes jusqu’à la côte
durant plusieurs décennies, mais peut être considérée comme
locomotive universelle puisque durant ses longues années de
service, elle remorqua à peu près tout ce que l’on peut rencon-
trer dans le trafic ferroviaire. Son affectation de base resta le
trafic de courte distance, essentiellement dans l’exploitation de
rames réversibles avec les voitures inox «Silberlinge». Grâce à
sa charge par essieu relativement faible, répartie sur deux bo-
gies à deux essieux, la E 41 pouvait être utilisée sans problème
sur les lignes secondaires électrifiées.
Le transformateur à bain d’huile fut doté d’un dispositif d’encliquetage
côté basse-tension ce qui généra un bruit caractéristique pour la série
E 41. La vitesse maximale de cette locomotive de 15,62 m de long était
de 120 km/h. Lorsqu’à la fin des années 1950, la Bundesbahn augmenta
la vitesse maximale des trains rapides à 140 km/h, d’autres E 41 furent
livrées exclusivement en livrée verte, l’élégant bleu étant réservé aux
locomotives rapides pour les trains de grandes lignes.
A partir des années 1990, la série 141 fut de plus en plus évincée
par la série 143 et avec la prise en charge du trafic de courte
distance par des automotrices, l’effectif diminua à vue d’œil.

wenden. Für Digitalbetrieb ist das Entstörset nicht geeignet.
• WARNUNG! Dieses Produkt enthält Magnete. Das Verschlucken
von mehr als einem Magneten kann unter Umständen tödlich
wirken. Gegebenenfalls ist sofort ein Arzt aufzusuchen.
Die bei normalem Betrieb anfallenden Wartungsarbeiten sind
nachfolgend beschrieben. Für Reparaturen oder Ersatzteile wenden
Sie sich bitte an Ihren Märklin-Fachhändler.

Lokparameter mit der Mobile Station / Central Station verändern

Zugunsten der guten Fahreigenschaften ist an dem Modell
die VMAX auf 94 % (Mobile Station) bzw. 240 (Central Station)
voreingestellt. Ein weiteres Anheben dieses Wertes hat keine
Geschwindigkeitserhöhung zur Folge, sondern beeinflusst nur
die Fahreigenschaften negativ.

Safety Warnings
• This locomotive is to be used only with an operating system
designed for it (Märklin 6646/6647 AC transformer, Märklin
Delta, Märklin Digital or Märklin Systems). Under no circum-
stances should a transformer rated for an input voltage of
220 volts be used for the 110 volts system in North America.
• The feeder track must be equipped to prevent interference
with radio and television reception, when the locomotive is
to be run in conventional operation. The 74046 interference
suppression set is to be used for this purpose.
• WARNING! This product contains magnets. Swallowing more
than one magnet may cause death in certain circumstances. If
necessary, see a doctor immediately.
The interference suppression set is not suitable for digital opera-
tion.The maintenance work necessary with normal operation of
this locomotive is described below. Please see your authorized
Märklin dealer for repairs or spare parts.

parts neither manufactured nor approved by Märklin have been installed
in Märklin products or where Märklin products have been converted in

Changing Locomotive Parameters with the
Mobile Station / Central Station
1. Select the locomotive from the locomotive list.
2. Change to the submenu “EDIT LOC”.
3. Go to the submenu “VMAX“ (maximum speed),
“ACC“ (acceleration), “DEC“ (brakes), or
“RESET“ (resetting the decoder to factory default settings).
4. Enter the new value and accept it into the system.
Please note the information in the instructions for the
Mobile Station / Central Station.
The VMAX has been preset at 94 % (Mobile Station) and at 240
(Central Station) on the model in order to give good running
characteristics. Raising this value further will not increase
the speed; it will only have a negative effect on the running
characteristics.

Remarques importantes sur la sécurité
• La locomotive ne peut être mise en service qu’avec un

Systems). N’utiliser en aucun cas de transformateurs pour
une tension à l’entrée de 220 V – 110 V pour les Etats-Unis.
• Pour l’exploitation de la locomotive en mode conventionnel,
la voie de raccordement doit être déparasitée. A cet effet,
utiliser le set de déparasitage réf. 74046. Le set de déparasita-
ge ne convient pas pour l’exploitation en mode numérique.
• ATTENTION ! Ce produit contient des aimants. L’ingestion
de plusieurs aimants peut être mortelle. Le cas échéant,
consulter immédiatement un médecin.
Les travaux d‘entretien occasionnels à effectueren exploitation
normale sont décrits plus loin. Pour toute réparation ou rempla-
cement de pièces, adressez-vous à votre détaillant-spécialiste
Märklin.

Modification des paramètres de la loco avec la
Mobile Station / Central Station
1. Sélectionnez la loco dans la liste.
2. Allez au sous-menu «MODIF LOC».
3. Ouvrir le sous-menu «VMAX» (vitesse maximale),
« ACC » (accélération), «DEC» (freinage), ou «RESET» (réinitia-
lisation du décodeur aux valeurs d’usine).
4. Entrez la nouvelle valeur et acceptez.
Respectez les remarques mentionnées dans l’instruction accom-
pagnant la Mobile Station / Central Station.
En faveur de l’une des bonnes caractéristiques de roulement, la
VMAX du modèle est préréglée sur 94 % (Mobile Station) ou 240
(Central Station). L’augmentation de cette valeur n’augmentera
pas la vitesse, mais risque uniquement d’altérer les caractéristi-
ques de roulement.

Veiligheidsvoorschriften

geval transformatoren met een ingangsspanning van 220 V
– voor USA 110 V – gebruiken.
• Voor het conventionele bedrijf met de loc dient de aansluitrail
te worden ontstoort. Hiervoor dient men de ontstoor-set 74046
te gebruiken. Voor het digitale bedrijf is deze ontstoor-set niet
geschikt.
• LET OP! Dit product bevat magneten. Het inslikken van meer
dan één magneet kan onder bepaalde omstandigheden de
dood tot gevolg hebben. Waarschuw direct een arts.
De in het normale bedrijf voorkomende onderhoudswerkzaam-
heden zijn verderop beschreven. Voor reparatie of onderdelen
kunt u zich tot uw Märklin winkelier wenden.
Elke aanspraak op garantie en schadevergoeding is uitgesloten, wanneer
in Märklin-producten niet door Märklin vrijgegeven vreemde onderdelen
ingebouwd en / of Märklin-producten omgebouwd worden en de ingebou-
wde vreemde onderdelen resp. de ombouw oorzaak van nadien opgetreden
defecten en / of schade was. De aantoonplicht en de bewijslijst daarom-
trent, dat de inbouw van vreemde onderdelen in Märklin-producten of de
ombouw van Märklin-producten niet de oorzaak van opgetreden defecten
en / of schade is geweest, berust bij de voor de inbouw en/of ombouw
verantwoordelijke persoon en / of firma danwel bij de klant.
Locparameter wijzigen met het Mobile Station
1. Loc uit de loclijst kiezen.
2. Ga naar het nevenmenu ”WIJZIG LOC”.
3. Naar het nevenmenu “VMAX” (maximumsnelheid)
“ACC” (optrekken), “DEC” (afremmen), of “RESET” (decoder
terugzetten naar fabrieksinstelling) omschakelen.
4. Nieuwe waarde invoeren en overnemen.
Lees ook de opmerkingen in de gebruiksaanwijzing van het
Mobile Station / Central Station.
Voor het verbeteren van de rijeigenschappen is bij het model de
maximumsnelheid op 94 % (Mobile Station) dan wel 240 (Central
Station) ingesteld. Het verhogen van deze vooringestelde waar-
de heeft geen invloed op de maximumsnelheid, maar beïnvloed
alleen de rijeigenschappen negatief.

suprimirse las interferencias en la vía de conexión de la
alimentación. Para ello debe emplearse el set supresor de
interferencias 74046. El set supresor de interferencias no es
adecuado para el funcionamiento en modo digital.
• ¡ ADVERTENCIA ! Este producto contiene imanes. Ingerir más
de un imán puede ser mortal según las circunstancias. En
este caso, acudir immediatamente a un médico.
Se puede colocar posteriormente el kit de humo.Los trabajos de
mantenimiento normales están descritos a continuación. Para
reparaciones o recambios contacte con su proveedor Märklin
especializado.
Se excluye todo derecho de garantía, prestación de garantía e indemni-
zación sobre aquellos productos Märklin en los que se hubieran montado

Modificar los parámetros de la locomotora con la
Mobile Station / Central Station
1. Seleccionar la locomotora de la lista de locomotora.
2. Pasar al menú subsidiario “EDIT LOC”.
3. Cambiar al submenú “VMAX“ (Velocidad máxima),
“ACC“ (Aceleración), “DEC“ (Frenado), o
“RESET“ (Devolver decoder a configuración de fábrica).
4. Introducir el nuevo código y memorizar.
Observe las indicaciones en las instrucciones de la
Mobile Station / Central Station.
Para favorecer una de las buenas características de marcha, en
el modelo en miniatura se ha preconfigurado la VMAX a 94 %
(Mobile Station) o bien 240 (Central Station). Un aumento
adicional de este valor no tendrá como resultado un aumento
de velocidad, sino que tan solo afectará negativamente a las
características de marcha.

Avvertenze per la sicurezza
• Tale locomotiva deve essere impiegata soltanto con un siste-
ma di funzionamento adeguato per questa (trasformatore per
corrente alternata Märklin 6647, Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital
oppure Märklin Systems). Non si impieghino mai per USA, a
110 V, i trasformatori per una tensione di ingresso di 220 V.
• Per il funzionamento tradizionale della locomotiva il binario di
alimentazione deve essere protetto dai disturbi. A tale scopo
si deve impiegare il corredo antidisturbi 74046. Tale corredo
antidisturbi non è adatto per il funzionamento Digital.
• AVVERTIMENTO! Questo prodotto contiene magneti.
L‘ingestione di più di un magnete può causare la morte. In
caso di ingestione informare immediatamente un medico.
Le operazioni di manutenzione che si verificano nel normale
funzionamento sono descritte nel seguito. Per riparazioni o
parti di ricambio Vi preghiamo di rivolgerVi al Vostro rivenditore
specialista Märklin.

in caso di montaggio sui prodotti Märklin di componenti non espressamen-

Modifica dei parametri della locomotiva con la
Mobile Station / Central Station
1. Selezionare la locomotiva dall’elenco locomotive.
2. Commutare al sottomenù “EDIT LOC“.
3. Sul menù sottostante commutare “ VMAX„ (velocità massima),
“ ACC “ (accelerazione), “ DEC “ (frenatura), oppure
“ RESET “ (riporta il Decoder alle impostazioni di fabbrica).
4. Introdurre il nuovo valore e accettarlo.
Prestate attenzione alle avvertenze nelle istruzioni della
Mobile Station / Central Station.
A vantaggio di una delle buone caratteristiche di marcia, in tale
modello la VMAX è già impostata su 94 % (Mobile Station) o
rispettivamente 240 (Central Station). Un ulteriore incremento di
questo valore non ha come effetto alcun incremento di velocità,
bensì influenza le caratteristiche di marcia solo in modo negativo.

Säkerhetsanvisningar
• Loket får endast köras med ett därtill avsett driftsystem
(Märklin Växelström-transformator 6647, Märklin Delta,
Märklin Digital eller Märklin Systems). Använd aldrig någon-
sin transformatorer avsedda att anslutas till ingångsspänning
220 V - ej eller USA 110 V.
• När motorförsedda lokdel ska köras med konventionell/ana-
log drift måste anlutningsskenan vara avstörd. Till detta
använder man anslutningsgarnityr 74046 med avstörning och
överbelastningsskydd. Avstörningsskyddet får inte användas
vid digital körning.
• VARNING! Denna produkt innehåller magneter. Sväljandet av
mer än en magnet kan under vissa omständigheter leda till
döden. Om en magnet svalts: Sök omedelbart läkarhjälp.
Underhållsarbeten som uppstår vid normal användning beskrivs
som följer. Kontakta din Märklinfackhandlare för reparationer
och reservdelar.

Lokparametrar ändras med Mobile Station / Central Station
1. Välj lok från loklistan.
2. Växla till undermenyn “EDIT LOC“.
3. Byt till resp. Undermeny: “VMAX“ (maxhastighet),
“ACC“ (acceleration), “DEC“ (bromsning), eller till “RESET“
(för återställning av dekodern till ursprunglig fabriksinställ-
ning).
4. Mata in nytt värde och acceptera.
Glöm ej: Se även i anvisningarna i bruksanvisningen för Mobile
Station / Central Station!
Till modellens goda köregenskaper bidrar att VMAX är förinställd
på 94 % (Mobile Station) 240 Central Station. Ytterligare höjning
av detta värde ger ingen hastighetsökning, utan kommer endast
att negativt påverka modellens köregenskaper.

Vink om sikkerhed

• Ved konventionel drift af lokomotivet skal tilslutningssporet
støjdæmpes. Dertil skal anvendes støjdæmpningssættet
74046. Støjdæmpningssættet er ikke egnet til digital drift.
• ADVARSEL! Dette produkt indeholder magneter. Det kan i vis-
se tilfælde have dødelige følger at sluge mere end en magnet.

Ændring af lokomotivparametre med Mobile Station/
Central Station
1. Vælg lokomotivet fra listen.
2. Skift til undermenuen “EDIT LOC“.
3. Til undermenu “VMAX“ (maksimalhastighed),
“ACC“ (acceleration), “DEC“ (bremse), eller “RESET“ (nulstil-
le dekoder til fabriksindstilling).
4. Indtast den nye værdi og overtag den.
Lagttag henvisningerne i vejledningen til Mobile Station /
Central Station.
Til fordel for en af de gode køreegenskaber er VMAX på model-
len forindstillet til 94 % (Mobile Station) respektive 240 (Central
Station) En yderligere forhøjelse af denne værdi medfører
ingen hastighedsforøgelse, men har kun negativ indflydelse på
køreegenskaberne.

Setting Locomotive Parameters with the Control Unit
1. Requirement: Setup as in diagram on page 24.
Only the locomotive to be changed can be on the track.
2. Press the “Stop” and “Go” at the same time until “99” blinks
in the display.
3. Press the “Stop” button.
4. Enter the locomotive address “80“.
5. Hold the control knob in the reverse direction area. While
holding the control knob here, press the “Go“ button.
6. The headlights on the locomotive will blink slowly. If they
don‘t, repeat Step 2.
7. Enter the register number for the parameter to be changed
(=> List on page 26).
8. Active the change of direction.
9. The headlights will blink rapidly.
10. Enter the new value (=>List on page 26).
11. Active the change of direction.
12. The headlights will blink slowly (exception: factory reset).
13. Enter the next parameter setting from 6 or end with 14.
14. End the process by pressing the “Stop“ button. Then press
the “Go“ button.
Lokparameter einstellen mit der Control Unit
1. Voraussetzung: Aufbau wie Grafik S. 24.
Nur die zu verändernde Lok ist auf dem Gleis.
2. „Stop“- und „Go“-Taste gleichzeitig drücken, bis „99“ in der
Anzeige aufblinkt.
3. „Stop“-Taste drücken.
4. Lokadresse „80“ eingeben.
5. Umschaltbefehl am Fahrregler halten. Während des Haltens
die „Go“-Taste drücken.
6. Licht der Lok blinkt langsam. Wenn nicht, ab Schritt 2 wie-
derholen.
7. Registernummer für den zu ändernden Parameter eingeben
(=> Liste auf Seite 26).
8. Fahrtrichtungswechsel betätigen.
9. Licht blinkt schnell.
10. Neuen Wert eingeben (=> Liste auf Seite 26).
11. Fahrtrichtungswechsel betätigen.
12. Licht blinkt langsam (Ausnahme Werkreset).
13. Nächste Parametereinstellung ab 6. oder
beenden mit 14.
14. Vorgang beenden mit Drücken der „Stop“-
Taste. Anschließend Drücken der „Go“-Taste.
