CAUTION
Every eort has been made during the
manufacturing process to eliminate the
prospect of splinters on rough surfaces of the
timber. You are strongly advised to wear gloves
when working with or handling rough sawn
timber.
**Protim Aquatan T5 (621)**
Your building has been treated with Aquatan.
Aquatan is a water-based concentrate which is diluted with water, the building as been treated by the correct
application of Aquatan solution and then allowed to dry.
Aquatan is a decorative nish to colour the wood, which is applied industrially to timber fence panels and
garden buildings.
Aquatan undiluted contains: boric acid, sodium hydroxide 32% solution, aqueos mixture of sodium dioctyl
sulphosuccinat and alcohols: 2, 4, 6-trichlorophenol.

General Instructions
BEFORE YOU START PLEASE READ INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY
- Check the pack and make sure you have all the parts listed.
- When you are ready to start, make sure you have the right tools at hand (not supplied)
including a Phillips screwdriver, Stanley knife, wood saw, step ladder and drill with 2mm
bit.
- Ensure there is plenty of space and a clean dry area for assembly.
TIMBER
As with all natural materials, timber can be aected during various weather conditions.
For the duration of heavy or extended periods of rain, swelling of the wood panels may
occur. Warping of the wood may also occur during excessive dry spells due to an interior
moisture loss. Unfortunately, these processes cannot be avoided but can be helped. It is
suggested that the outdoor building is sprayed with water during extended periods of
warm sunshine and sheltered as much as possible during rain or snow.
Our buildings are pre treated with a water based treatment**; this only helps to protect
the product during transit and for upto 3 months against mould. To validate your
guarantee and ensure longevity of the product, it is ESSENTIAL the building is treated
with a wood preserver within the rst three months of assembly and thereafter in
accordance with the manufactures recommendations. Care must be taken to ensure
the product is placed on a suitable base.
BUILDING A BASE
When thinking about where the building and base is going to be constructed:
Ensure that there will be access to all sides for maintenance work and annual
treatment.
Ensure the base is level and is built on rm ground, to prevent distortion. Refer to
diagrams for the base dimensions, The base should be slightly smaller than the external
measurement of the building, i.e. The cladding should overlap the base, creating a run
o for water. It is also recommended that the oor be at least 25mm above the
surrounding ground level to avoid ooding.
TYPES OF BASE
- Concrete 75mm laid on top of 75mm hard-core.
- Slabs laid on 50mm of sharp sand.
Whilst all products manufactured are made to the highest standards of Safety and in
the case of childrens products independently tested to EN71 level, we cannot accept
responsibility for your safety whilst erecting or using this product.

Step 1
Position back oor (No. 11)
sections onto a rm and level base,
x with 8x50mm screws alternate
the xing positions along the
length of the oors.
Fix the front oor (No. 10) to the 2
existing panels using the oor
joining bocks. Use 2x50mm screws
per block screwing through the
boards into the top of the block,
connecting the oor pieces.

*Ensure your base has suitable drainage and is
free from areas where standing water can collect.
Step 2
Attach the ush hinges (No. 34)
to both the master (No. 12) &
slave (No. 13) doors using
3x30mm screws per hinge.
*Fix to the doors via the outer
plate.
Fix the doors into the door panel
(No. 1) aperture, securing into
place using 3x30mm screws per
hinge.
*Fix to the door panel via the
inner plate.

Fit the mortice lock (No. 32)
into the recess on the master
door & x into place using with
the screws provided. Attach the
key plate (No. 33) to the slave
door, once again using the
screws provided.
Fix the door handles (No. 31)
and the metal bar (spindle)
using 8x30mm screws.
*Ensure the mortice lock opens
and closes freely. If not remove
the lock and turn the catch
around using the small grub
screw.

Fix the door bar (No. 29) to the
inside of the slave door with
6x30mm screws, as shown in the
illustration.
Attach the door beading strips
to the inside of the door frame
(either side of each door) with
8x30mm screws, making sure
the beading strips sit ush with
the framing.

Attach the tower bolts (No. 36)
to the door bar using the
screws provided.
*Ensure the bolts locate into
the keeps and the door locks
in place properly.

connect the 2 plain sides using
3x50mm screws and secure the
gable at the corner using 3x60mm
screws.

Place the first ridge bar
(No. 14) inside the building
and line up with the upright
framing on each gable.
Align the back edge of the
ridge bar with the top of the
gable. Once in place mark
the position on both sides
with a pencil.
Place the roof support block
(No. 15) to the pencil mark
and secure in place using
2x40mm screws per block.
*Repeat this process on both sides
with the remaining roof support
bars.
Place the ridge bar(s)
(No. 14)on top of the
attached blocks and
secure through the outside
of both gables using
2x80mm screws per side.

*Hint: When tting the roof bar pencil mark the centre
of the roof support bar and follow down onto the gable
at a right angle, this will give you a guide to x the
support bars in place.

Rest the left roof (No. 8) on top of the
supports and secure with 20x40mm
screws as shown in the illustration.
*Ensure to align the screws with each
roof support bar.
Fix the roof (internally) to the roof
support bar using 8x40mm screws
(making sure the roof framing sits
behind the support bar) .
Repeat this process with the right
roof (No. 9), ensuring there is an equal
amount of overhang either side of the
building.

Place the front roof (No. 7) onto the
assembly securing into place using
4x40mm screws as shown in the
illustration.
Following the same method outlined in
step 8 x the front roof (internally) to the
roof support bar using 4x40mm screws.

Position the large (No. 18) and
the small (No. 19) roof ends
onto the roof.
*Ensure the tongue & groove
meet and the boards sit ush
with the roof framing.
Fix the boards in place using
12x40mm screws, making sure
to screw through the roof and
gable framing.

Now the roof has been tted
secure the building to the
oor with 36x60mm screws

Cut the felt into 4x strips.
Roll the felt across the roof in the order
shown in the illustration, leaving
approximatley 50mm of overhang at
the front & rear as well as an equal
amount either side of the building.
*Each sheet needs approximately 50mm
of overlap except the last sheet which
requires 250mm overlap.

To secure the roof felt in place,
sandwich the felt between the
top (No. 21) and bottom (No. 22)
roof trims as shown in the
illustration, xing into place using
24x30mm screws.

building securing each board to the roof
framing using 8x40mm screws.
Place the nial (No. 30) over the fascia joint

around the building across the joints
on each panel and at the corners
using 3x30mm screws per trim.
