Introduction
When performing the start-up operation of EJ-210, the documents described below are required in
addition to this Start-up Operation Manual.

1. BEFORE PERFORMING THE START-UP OPERATION
1.1 EJ-210 Installation Check
Before performing the start-up operation of the boiler operation terminal EJ-210, perform the
following checks according to the Installation Manual of the EJ-210 and M-NET3 Communication
System.
(1) Main unit installation check
Ensure that the main unit is securely fixed at an appropriate location.
For details, refer to “5. INSTALLATION” in the Installation Manual of the EJ-210.
(2) Steam pressure sensor installation check
When installing the optional steam pressure sensor, ensure that it is installed correctly.
For details, refer to “6. WIRING” in the Installation Manual of the EJ-210.
(3) Wiring check
With reference to “6. WIRING” in the Installation Manual of the EJ-210, ensure that the
following wires are connected properly.
•Power supply wire and signal wire
Note that the wiring inside the boiler control box must be added or removed in some cases.
•RS-422 communication wire
Wiring is required only when the BG-type, BK-type, BL-type, or XJ1-type controller is mounted
in the boiler to be connected.
•M-NET3 communication wire
Depending on the connection status of communication wires, a communication error may
occur. Ensure that the communication wire is connected according to the Installation Manual
of the M-NET3 communication system.
•Steam pressure sensor wire
Wiring is required only when the optional pressure sensor for the EJ-210 is installed.
(4) Boiler ROM version check
When the BK-type controller is mounted in the boiler to be connected, ensure that the ROM
version is “BK111400” or later for a gas-fired boiler, and “BK211400” or later for an oil-fired
boiler.
When the BL-type controller is mounted in the boiler to be connected, ensure that the ROM
version is “BL111400” or later.
When the BG-type or XJ1-type controller is mounted in the boiler to be connected, it is not
necessary to check the ROM version.

2. DISPLAY ITEMS
2.1 Overview of Display Items
(1) Explanation of display items and modes
The status monitor and settings of the EJ-210 and boiler are shown on the display. The mode is
categorized according to the display item content, and the display switches to each mode by
button operation, etc. An overview of the display items in each mode is shown in Table 2-1.

Note: Only a maintenance personnel can change the settings in the maintenance mode.
(2) Display status transition diagram
The transition of the display status is shown in the following diagram. The common items about
display and operation are as shown below.
•Press and hold the “Data” button for 2 seconds while “Press&Hold[DATA]”is displayed to
switch the display to the items of the corresponding mode.
•If the button is not operated for 4 minutes in a mode other than the Status Monitor mode, the
display switches to the Status Monitor mode. Note that if the setting operation is in progress
during the User Operation mode or Maintenance mode, the changes made in the setting
values are cancelled and the information that is being set is cleared.
•If the Function-1 switch on the CPU board is turned ON or press and hold the ▲ button and
▼ button simultaneously for 3 seconds while “ALM  History / Press&Hold [DATA]” is
displayed, the display switches to the Maintenance mode. If the Function-1 switch is turned
OFF or press and hold the ▲ button and ▼ button simultaneously for 3 seconds when the
Maintenance mode is displayed, the display switches to the Monitor mode.
•When the Function-1 switch on the CPU board is turned OFF or press and hold the ▲ button
and ▼ button simultaneously for 3 seconds during the Maintenance mode, the changes made
in the setting values are confirmed.

2.2 Explanation of Each Mode
The details of the display items and the operation method of each mode are described below.
2.2.1 Status Monitor Mode
This mode is used to display and check the status of the EJ-210 or boiler. The control status of
the equipment is displayed in the upper row of the display, and various status information of the
equipment is displayed in the lower row.
If an alarm occurs in the EJ-210, only when this mode is being displayed, the details of an alarm
are displayed forcibly.

Note 4:When “Pressure sensor”is set to “Yes” and “Maintenance display” is set to “Yes”, the
effective number of digits of the boiler steam pressure increases by one digit. (The effective
number of digits increases to the third decimal place when “Display unit” is set to “SI(MPa)”,
and to the second decimal place when “Display unit” is set to “SI(0.1 MPa)”.)
Note 5:For “Number of errors in communication with boiler system operation panel”, the total
number of errors in the communication between the EJ-210 and the boiler system operation

This mode is used to make functional settings with regard to MI control.
Press and hold the “Data” button for 2 seconds while “MAINT  SET  Mode / Press&Hold[DATA]”
shown in No. 5 in Table 2-8 is displayed to switch the display to No. 1 in Table 2-9.
2.2.6.1 Automatic Setting Mode
In the case of a boiler with a BG-type, BK-type, BL-type, or XJ1-type controller mounted,
pressing and holding the ▼ button for 3 seconds while “EJ  Auto  Setting / Press  &  Hold  [▼]”
is displayed starts the automatic setting of the EJ-210.
The EJ-210 collects the setting information from the boiler through communication, and the
boiler setting items included in the EJ-210 settings are set automatically using this setting

maintained in the EJ-210 are set to the default value. The history information is deleted, and
the calendar must be set again.
Note 3:To perform “CPU reset”, turn OFF the Initialize-1 andInitialize-2 switches, and then turn ON
the Initialize-3 switch and back OFF. If “CPU reset” is performed, the same operation as
when the power of the EJ-210 is turned OFF and back ON is performed.
When setting the ID number, ensure that the same number is not duplicated on the
network (M-NET3).
If the ID number is duplicated, a communication error may occur across the entire
network.
The ID numbers of boilers (EJ-210) must be serial numbers.
