POWER
When the OxyPure is plugged in, the Power button will be red, indicating
that the unit is in Standby Mode. Press it once, the LED turns white and
the unit activates, either with the last settings used, or in Manual Fan
Speed Mode at Fan Speed 1 if the unit is being activated for the rst time.
FAN SPEED
FAN SPEED has two functions. First, it controls the fan speed from low
to high. Simply press it until you reach the fan speed you want. Pressing
it a 5th time returns you to Fan Speed 1. Second, to use the Pet Lock to
keep your settings from being accidentally changed, press and hold FAN
SPEED for 1 second. Repeat to unlock the settings again.
AUTO/ECO
AUTO/ECO lets you use Auto Mode or Eco Mode (see below). Press it
once for Auto Mode. Press and hold it for Eco Mode. To quit ECO Mode,
press and hold AUTO/ECO for 1 second.
The Power button will be lit Yellow when ECO is selected and AUTO will
be lit green.
TURBO
Press TURBO to run the OxyPure at the highest fan speed for up to 2
hours. Press it once for 30 minutes, twice for 1 hour, and 3 times for 2
hours. Pressing TURBO four times turns it off.
SLEEP
With the unit set up and running the way you want it, press SLEEP to
turn off the LED display on the control panel, which helps promote a good
night’s rest. When the Filter Replacement icon next to it appears yellow,
you should consider changing the lter. When it turns red, you MUST
change the lter.
TIMER
Pressing TIMER lets you decide how long the OxyPure remains on, press-
ing the button once for each of the following: 1hr, 2hrs, 4hrs, 6hrs, 8hrs,
and 12hrs. Pushing it a seventh time will turn off the Timer but not the unit.
TIMER can be used with AUTO, FAN SPEED, and TURBO (see below).
AIR QUALITY
The AIR QUALITY indicator turns on as soon as the unit is activated, dis-
playing the current air quality with 4, color-coded Air Quality levels, going
from green (clean) to orange, burgundy, and nally red (dirty).

automatically in accordance with
the current air quality. To use it:
1. Tap AUTO/ECO once to turn on AUTO mode.
The upper half circle LED will turn on to indicate

2. The unit will operate, automatically adjusting
the Fan Speed according to current air quality,
increasing when the air is dirty, decreasing as
the air gets cleaner.
3. When you wish to deactivate AUTO Mode, sim-
ply press AUTO/ECO again. The OxyPure will
revert to manual FAN SPEED Mode and run at
the lowest fan speed.
Note
Regardless of operating mode, pressing AUTO/
ECO once will turn the mode on, and pressing it
again will turn the mode off.
AUTO and FAN SPEED
You cannot use the FAN SPEED button while in
AUTO Mode because pressing FAN SPEED in that

then switching to AUTO Mode, running at the
lowest Fan Speed. See the following page
for more information.

responds to changes in Air Quality.
However, because it does not run the
fan continuously, ECO Mode is a real energy- and
money-saver. To use it:
1. Press and hold the AUTO/ECO button for 1
second. The OxyPure will beep, the lower half
circle LED will turn on to indicate that ECO
Mode is active while the rest of the panel goes
dark, and the fan will turn off.

50), the OxyPure will turn on automatically and
go into AUTO Mode. The Power LED will be lit
yellow, and AUTO/ECO LED will be lit white.

Did you know...?
HEPA lters were
developed in the
1940s to protect
lab workers on the
Manhattan Project
from the very
dangerous radioactive dust their work was
generating. They work like this: As air is
pushed through them, any particles are
trapped in the ne mesh of the lter and
will not be rereleased into the air. These
particles are as small as 0.3 microns, or
0.00011811 inches.That’s a particle that is
a little over 23 times smaller than a human
hair and a True HEPA lter, like those in
the OxyPure HEPA, will capture 99% of
particles that size or larger!

Measuring Air Quality:
The OxyPure Sensors
The OxyPure measures the indoor Air
Quality in your home using a PM2.5
benchmark for particle pollution. “PM” stands
for “Particulate Matter”, an airborne mixture of
solid particles and liquid droplets. “2.5” is the
particle size in microns. So, PM2.5 describes
ne, easily inhalable particles like dust, pollen,
mold, smoke, organic compounds and metals.
The sensors measure these particles in the air,
display the results on the control panel, and
activate and adjust the fan to eliminate any Air
Quality issues.

or droplets from coughs and sneezes, or carried
in from outside. The OxyPure easily removes
these pathogens, helping to protect you and
your family.
Staphylococcus epidermidis (S. epidermidis), is
a round-shaped, bacteria primarily found on the
skin, where it can cause skin conditions such
as Acne Vulgaris. However, it is also a major
cause of medical implant infections, especially
in peripheral and central intravenous catheters,
inammation of the chest cavity (Mediastinitis)
and bacterial blood infections (Bacteremia).
PMC4184040/)
Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) is a round-
shaped bacteria frequently found on the skin
and in the throat, nose, and sinuses. It spreads
through human-to-human contact, as well as
on mucus ejected by sneezing or coughing. It
remains viable on surfaces for weeks, making
it a common cause of infection. Such infections
range from sinusitis and acne to pneumonia,
meningitis, osteomyelitis, endocarditis, toxic
shock syndrome, bacteremia, sepsis and MRSA
in hospitals.
PMC4451395/)
Escherichia coli (E. coli) is a rod-shaped coliform
bacterium normally found in the lower intestines
of people and animals. While most strains of E.
coli are harmless, some cause food poisoning
and diarrhea, urinary tract and respiratory infec-
tions, and other illnesses.
Aspergillus niger (A. niger) is one of fteen black-
spored strains of the Aspergillus mold. Indoors it
is often mistaken for the harmful Stachybotrys.
The spores can become airborne, where they can
be inhaled. For those with compromised immune
systems, this can cause sinus and lung infections
called Aspergillosis, with symptoms including
fever, wheezing, shortness of breath, and cough.

sis/symptoms.html)

Did you know...
When you cough, each cough expells enough air to ll a 1.5 liter contain-
er in a plume that extends several feet and carries some 3,000 droplets
of mucus, saliva and other material at speeds of up to 50 miles per hour!
That’s nothing, though, compared to a sneeze.
When you sneeze, those 3,000 droplets will increase to as many as
40,000, mostly less than 10 microns across, travelling at speeds that can
exceed 200 miles per hour. They can travel over 8 feet and up to 20 feet
into the air, high enough to get into ventilation systems.
This is why an good air purier is so important, especially during cold
and u season. Clean air is the rst step to good health, and with the
OxyPure, you will know your air is pure and healthy.

The OxyPureHEPA500 was tested for electrical
safety against the ANSI/UL507 electrical safety
standards, and were found to be fully compliant.
Formaldehyde, VOCs, and Fumes
Formaldehyde is a colorless, strong-smelling gas
that belongs to a family of chemicals called Vol-
atile Organic Compounds (VOCs). Most people
think of it as a preservative for medical specimens
and mortuary work, but it is also used in a variety
of other ways, such as making particleboard,
plywood, and berboard; glues and adhesives;
permanent-press fabrics; paper product coatings;
and some insulation materials. It is also used to
make other chemicals and as a preservative in
certain foods, antiseptics, medicines, and cos-
metics.
The main way people are exposed to formal-
dehyde is by inhaling it. In liquid form it can be
absorbed through the skin. People can also be
exposed to small amounts by eating foods or
drinking liquids containing formaldehyde.
TEST RESULTS
ENERGYSTAR • FORMALDEHYDE • CADR
EnergySTAR Certication
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
has published specications of energy efciency
using a Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) to Watt
ratio. The unit being tested must produce a CADR
of at least 50 for smoke. Minimum performance is
2.0 CADR/Watt and the standby power require-
ment is 2.0 Watts. The OxyPure passed the test
handily.
Electrical Safety
Along with energy efciency comes safety. The
California Air Resources Board (CARB) ensures
that every air purier sold in California meets
certain standards for electrical safety and perfor-
mance.
Test Standard Measured
Electrical Safety ANSI/UL507 Compliant
Exposure to relatively high amounts of formalde-
hyde in medical and occupational settings has
been linked to some types of cancer in humans,
but the effect of exposure to small amounts is
less clear. Studies of people exposed to formal-
dehyde in the workplace have also found a possi-
ble link to cancer of the nasal sinuses.
At present, the limit is at 0.70 parts per million
(ppm) on average over an 8 hour workday. The
highest concentration that a worker can be ex-
posed to is 2 ppm, and that can only occur over
15 minutes.
https://www.cancer.org/cancer/cancer-causes/formaldehyde.html
The OxyPure was tested against formaldehyde to
see how well the unit would remove it, as similar
gases, VOCs and fumes.
Gases, VOCs, Fumes Removal Rate Time (Min.)
Formaldehyde 97.4% 240
Clean Air Delivery Rate & Removal Efciency
The Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) measures
clean air ow out of the unit against different air
pollutants, in this case smoke, dust and pollen.
There are a number of different factors that go
into CADR from particle size and composition to
fan speed to lter cleanliness. You can see this in
the following chart:
Notice that while the particle size for each is the
same, the CADR for each kind of particle is mark-
edly different, with dust having the lowest CADR
while pollen has the highest by a wide margin.
Smoke, dust and pollen are not the only particle
pollutants that can nd in your home. The table
on the next page will introduce you to some of
them and put their size into perspective for you.
Particulate Matter
(Size in microns)
CADR
(Ft³/Min.)
Removal
Efciency
Smoke (0.1µm-1µm) 150.6 100% in 100 minutes
Dust (0.5 µm-3 µm) 149.8 100% in 2 hours
Pollen (5 µm-11 µm) 181.5 100% in 40 minutes
Criteria Standard Measured
Smoke CADR (ft³/min.) >50 150.6
Total Energy Conumed (Watts) -- 38
Smoke CADR/Watt (ft³/min./W) >2.9 3.9
Standby Power (Watts) <1 0.76

Did you know...
When you react to any aller-
gen or irritant, it is your body’s
immune system working to
clear away the harmful or
irritating substance by generating antibodies to
hunt down the intruder while releasing histimine
and a variety of other substances that cause the
typical symptoms seen in allergic reactions, which
can range from the barely noticed to the mildly
irritating to the deadly.
The OxyPure can help with airborne allergens
such as pollens, dust, dustmites, mold spores,
wood and coal ash, and any other particle that
might be oating around in your home’s air,
eliminating them so that you breathe easier day
and night.
Sleep is Important
Allergies can do more than
just make you itch and
sneeze. They can keep you
up, or keep your spouse up,
as you snore and even choke
your way through the night. In
addition to robbing you of rest,
nights like this can leave you dragging through
the day and even lead to things like weight gain,
headaches, cognitive changes and confusion. It
could even be a sign of something even more
dangerous, sleep apnea.
There are as many causes for excess snoring
as there are symptoms of it, ranging from bone
structure to swelling to obesity and even pregnan-
cy, but two of the most common are congestion
due to allergies and colds, and the use of antihis-
tamines to relieve that congestion and sleeping
pills to try a get at least some rest.
If allergies are your problem, instead of relying
entirely on pills that can make things worse (nev-
er, of course, stop any medication without your
doctor’s advice), do something about the aller-
gens in your air with a good air purier with
a high CADR and good HEPA/Carbon lters like
the OxyPure. The cleaner the air, the less your
allergies will bother you. It’s that simple with
OxyPure.
