Ahigh pressureblowerrequiresacertainamountofresistancewhichwill preventmotor
overamperage.
Makesurepowersourcematcheswirevoltage configurations.
Check setscrewand keyinfan wheel,makesurefan wheelissecure.Fan blowershould
notvibrate.
1.Electrical-Failuretofollowinstructionsand safeelectricalprocedurescouldresultinseriousinjuryordeath.
Disconnectall powerand discharge all capacitorsbeforeservicing.Install and ground perlocaland national
codes.Consultalicensed electrician withquestionsorifrepairsarerequired.

Awell sealed plywood boxwill makeagood plenumfor
airdistribution through the tube filters.Useplywood forthe
plenums.Cut12”dia.holesinthebottomofthebox(spaced
2-3”apart),sothatthe ring thimblesfitsnugly.The rings
shouldnotbe abletoslide through the holes.Bend Ring
Thimbletabsthen applyductsealantorcaulkaround the
edgeofthe ring thimble.Usesheetmetalscrewstosecure.
Besuretoremoveanysharpedgesfromthe bucketor
ring thimblethatmayabrade the filter.Slide the filterover
the thimblepastthe raised bead.Securewithabandclamp.
Slide thebottomofthe filteroverafivegallon plasticbucket.
Securewithaband clamporstrong bungee (shockcord).
Besurefilterisnotlooseormovingaround whenthesystem
ison.Thiscouldlead towearon the filter.
Withthe useofacyclone pre-separator,the bucketswill
notneed emptying veryoften,butdo need tobe checked
occasionally.Simplylift the bucket, the weightwill indicate

Bindicatoroperatesbyusing a1rpmsynchronousmotorto
rotateapaddle.
Whenpaddlerotationisimpededbymaterialsurrounding it,
the motorisde-energized and triggersaSPDTsnapswitch.
Thesnap switchcanbeused inconjunctionwithamotor
startertoturnequipmentoff orprovidealarmfunctions.

The motor’sinternalcircuitbreakerwill tripifthe motorisoverheating.
Airleaksbetween the collectorand dustbin
-The lidofthe dustbinand the cyclone mustbe inplaceand sealed when operating the dustcollector.
-Makesureflexhoseisnottornand the hoseclampsaretight.
-Check drumlid;covershouldhaveafoamsealand be well seated.
-Check forholesorleaks inthe dustbinbarrel.

FilterClogging
Caused By:
Large chipsclogging the filter
-Check foraleakinthe dustbin,flexcoupling orlid.Checkforsplitortornflexcoupling.(See

-Makesuredustbinhasnotoverfilled.Dustbinshouldbe emptied beforethe dustreaches
top ofthe container.
-Interruption ofairflow,suchasvacuuming chipswithaflexhoseconnection,will increase
filtermaintenance.
-Minimum4”diameterpickup attoollocation.Less than 4”will restrictairflowintocollectorand
will increasefiltermaintenance.

Nevercollectsparks fromabenchgrinderintoawood dustcollector.
Neverintroducesparks orsourcesofignition intothe dustcollector.
Personnelshouldkeep atleast20 feetawayfromunit.
Check dustbinfrequentlyand beforeleaving the shop forsmoldering material.
Keep portableFireExtinguishershandy.
The ABCtype (drychemical)isgenerallyagood choiceforsmall wood shops.
Additionalinformation on portableextinguisherscan be found inNFPA10 (StandardforPortableFireExtinguishers).
Beespeciallycarefulwithsanding units.Theycan produceconcentrationsofdustinthe combustiblerange.Make
certainenough airvolumeisatthe suction pointtocaptureall the particulategenerated.
Thishigh airvolumewill dilutethe mixturebelowthe lowerlimitofflammability.Becarefulnottogeneratesparks into
the sanding dust.
Emptydustbinand clean filteroften,especiallywhen sanding.
Don’toverload woodworking equipment, especiallysanders.Excessivefrictionalheatcan spontaneouslyignitedust.
Sparks can be generated inseveralways:
High-speed sandersand abrasiveplanersmaystrikeforeign material
Sawsand edgersmaystrikeforeign materialand createared hotmetalfragment.
Knotsinhardwood can createfrictionalsparks.
Trampmetalwhen drawnintothe collectorcan sparkagainstductwork.
Check wood stock foroldnailsand screwswhichcan createred hotmetalfragments.
Avoidusing excessivelylarge wood wastestorage bins.
Always check storage binsforsmoldering materialbeforeleaving forthe day.
Electricallyground all equipmentand ducting.Staticsparks can ignitewood dust. (Avoidusing PVCdrainpipe)
Don’tallowaccumulation oflayersoffine duston horizontalsurfaces.(Especiallyoverhead lights,electricalboxes,
and fusepanelswhichcan ignitedust)

Wood shaping and cutting processesgeneratewood chips,shavings,and dust. Thesematerialsareconsidered
combustible.Airborne wood dustbelow420 micronsinsize(.017 ofan inch)incertainconcentration rangeswhen
ignited can deflagrate(burnquickly).
Anignition sourcesuchasaspark,orember,can igniteadustmixtureresulting inan expanding flamefront, which
can causean explosion iftightlycontained.Adisturbancethatraisesacloud ofaccumulated fine dustcan raiseadditional
dustclouds,whichcan causeaseriesofexplosionsthatcan levelan entirebuilding.Until thistype offirehasbeen
witnessed,itisdifficulttobelievethe devastation.Thistype offireisrarebutworthsafeguarding against.
The bestwaytoavoidawood shop fireistokeep the shop clean.Ashop ankledeep industwithlayersoffine dust
everywhereisan accidentwaiting tohappen.Agood dustcollection systemreducesoverall firehazardsbutalsoadds
newconcerns.Afirehazardisstill present. Combustiblematerialisnowinthe dustcollectorand storage container.
It isthe buyer’sresponsibilitytofollowall applicablefederal,state,local,OSHA,NFPA,orauthoritieshaving
jurisdiction codesand regulationswhen installing and operating thisdustcollector.
FireMarshallsmaywantthe unitlocated outside ofthe building.If the collectorislocated inside the facility,
controlssuchassparkdetection,suppression,orexplosion venting maybe required.
MostlocaljurisdictionsconsultoradoptNFPA (NationalFireProtection Agency)codes.However,othercodes
mayapply.Localcodesmayvaryfromjurisdiction tojurisdiction.

Checking inOrder
OneidaAirSystemswarrantsproductsitmanufacturesforaperiod of2yearstothe originalpurchaserfrom
the dateofpurchase.Itemsnotmanufactured byO.A.S.arelimited totheirownmanufacturer’swarranties.
Thiswarrantydoesnotapplytodefectsdue directlyorindirectlytomisuse,negligence,accidents,abuse,
repairs,oralterationsorlackofmaintenance.ThisisOneida AirSystemssolewritten warrantyand anyand
all warrantiesthatmaybe implied bylaw,including anymerchantabilityorfitness,foranyparticularpurpose,
areherebylimited tothe duration ofthiswritten warranty.O.A.S.doesnotwarrantorrepresentthatthe
merchandisecomplieswiththe provisionsofanylaworactsunless the manufacturersowarrants.Inno
eventshall O.A.S.’sliabilityunderthiswarrantyexceed the purchasepricepaidforthe productand anylegal
actionsbroughtagainstOneida AirSystemsshall be tried inthe StateofNewYork,CountyofOnondaga.
Oneida AirSystemsshall inno eventbe liablefordeath,injuriestopersonsorpropertyorforincidental,
contingent, special,orconsequentialdamagesarising fromthe useofourproduct.
Oneida AirSystemsdoesnotwarrantorauthorizeuseofwood dustcollectorsforotherpurposes.This
includeswood productsthataretreated,coated,orotherwisealtered fromtheirnaturalstate.
LimitedWarranty
Productswill be shipped toBuyer’ssingledestination.Titleand riskoflossshall pass tothe Buyerupon
deliverytosuchdestination.Buyerpaystransportation expenses.Datesofshipmentareadvisoryand O.A.S.
will makereasonableeffortstoshipon orbeforethe datestatesforshipment, however,O.A.S.shall notincur
anyliabilityforfailuretoshipon thatdate.
DeliveryRisk ofLoss
BuyermustinformO.A.S.ofanyshortage ordamage,bysonoting inwriting,on the freightdeliverybill prior
tosigning toindicatereceiptofshipment.All claims,including claimscovered underthe limited warranty,are
subjecttoinspection and investigation byO.A.S.. O.A.S.reservesthe righttoinspectand investigateall
returned productsbeforeBuyer’sclaimissettled.All productsreturned foracashrefund mustbe unused,
resaleableand purchased withinthe lastsixmonths.Thereareno refundson flexhoseorcustommade
components.Therewill be a25%restocking fee applied toanyreturned items.
