I. System Start-Up Information
Caution
Read the installation and maintenance instructions as well as the recommended safety practices in
this manual before assembling and using the Dust Cobra.
This vacuum is designed for indoor / dry material pick-up applications and should not be
used outside or in wet conditions or to pick up liquids.
Safety Instructions to be Strictly Followed.
The Dust Cobra is heavy! Handling and assembly should always be performed by experienced and
trained personnel who have experience with assembling equipment. In addition to the following
instructional manual, care should be taken to ensure compliance with specic safety require-
ments mandated by federal, state and local codes.
- Make sure that the voltage nameplate of the device corresponds to the voltage of your network. The plug must
be protected with a minimum of 15 amps. Important! The vacuum is supplied from the factory with a supply
cable with a grounded plug. It must only be connected to an approved grounded receptical.
- Before performing ANY maintenance work, unplug the vacuum from the outlet.
- Warning! Explosion and re hazard! Never vacuum ammable uids or gas, oil, alcohol, solvents, etc. Do not
operate near ammable uids or gas. Never vacuum warm uids or materials at more than 140 deg. F (60 Deg.
C), such as burning cigarettes, ashes, glowing coals, etc.
- Warning! Do not vacuum hazardous / carcinogenic dust unless HEPA lter is installed.
- Do not pull the vac by the cable and do not damage the insulation on the cable. If cable is damaged, it must be
replaced immediately.
- Always keep lter cartridge clean so the vacuum operates properly. Never operate vacuum without the lter.
- Components used in packaging (i.e. - plastic bags) can be dangerous. Keep away from children and animals.
- The use of this machine for anything not specied in this manual may be dangerous and must be avoided.
- The suction nozzle should be kept away from the body. Especially delicate areas such as the eyes, ears and
mouth.
- The equipment should be correctly assembled before use.
- Ensure that power receptical is correct voltage for the machine.
- Check the voltage indicated on the rating plate is the same as the supply voltage.
- Never leave the equipment switched on.
- Never carry out any maintenance on the machine without rst disconnecting from the main supply. If machine
is to be left unattended or can be reached by children or others not aware about their action, the electrical sup-
ply should also be terminated.
- The vac should never be immersed in water or a pressure jet of water used for cleaning.
- Periodically examine the power cable and machine for damage. If any damage is found, contact your service
center for repair.
- Should extension cords be used, ensure that the cord rating is suitable for use with the equipment. Do not use
the extension cord coiled as this could result in a voltage drop or overheating of motor.
- If the vacuum should overturn, it is recommended that the machine should be stood up before switching off.
- Service and repairs should be carried out by qualied personnel only. Replacement parts for the machine must
be manufacturers original parts only.
- The manufacturer can not be held responsible for any damage / injury caused to persons or property because
of the incorrect use of the machine or due to procedures being used that are not specied in this instruction
manual.
- Empty dust drum frequently. Never leave ammable (including wood dust) material in vac.

3. Attach cone to wall
bracket by putting sup-
plied bolts through side
and bottom holes as
indicated by diagram
with supplied hardware.
4. Put wheels on axle by gently tapping with a hammer and
pushing and turning wheel down axle. When wheel is in po-
sition, gently tap supplied axle cap on end of axle to secure
wheel as shown above.
5. Put the supplied 3/4” hex bolt through a 5/16” washer
then through the back of the cart, then through another
5/16” washer, then nish with a hand-tightened 5/16” Ny-
lock nut. Repeat with the three other bolts then tighten bolts
with a wrench to nish. Bracket should be attached as high
as possible on the cart to give more room for the drum and
ex hose.

1. Put self-sticking gasket around
inside rim on top of cyclone as
shown in photos. Be sure ends
meet evenly and there is no gap
for air leakage.

through and is held
by thumb nut.
2. Line up Hook clamp holes in front of cone and put two
plastic spacers between the latch and cone. Fasten with
two pan head 3/4” screws provided by using two Nylock
nuts provided on the inside of cone.

loose and raised so
you can attach the lter

8. Screw supplied bolt through Bracket and fasten with nut.
V. General Assembly Instructions
10. Carefully put lter down into cone and align the hole
in motor tab with the hook clamp as shown below in Fig.
A. Then push back of motor housing down as you push
fasteners under the cone rim. This may be easier with
two people. It is very important that there is no gap
between the motor housing and the gasket. Clean air
wil blow out of the cowling during normal operation to
help with heat dissipation however.

11. You must adjust the
Hook Clamp so that it
holds the motor housing
tightly down when the
clamp is closed.
NEVER operate Cobra without the lter.
Motor damage could occur along with
voiding the warranty!
9. Put open end of lter over Filter Bracket and put bolt
through lter hole. Attach self-stick washer gasket to washer.
Put washer with gasket side to lter on bolt and thumb nut
as shown above. Tighten enough to make a rm seal but
DO NOT over tighten and crack lter.

10. You must adjust the
Hook Clamp so that it
holds the motor housing
tightly down when the
clamp is closed.
12. Attach Drum Grounding wire to the Cobra as shown in
the illustration below.
13. Attach hose cuff to inlet
and then plastic blast gate
to the hose cuff with the
gate opening at the bottom as shown in picture.
14. Attach hose to blast gate and you’re ready
to go! Blast gate should only be closed when
you are using the Filter Pulse Cleaning Bar.
See pg. 10 for cleaning instructions. The On /
Off switch is located on the bottom of the plastic
cowl in the back.
15. To attach Hose Strap,
take off Thumb Nut, put
strap grommet on bolt,
then put Thumb Nut back
on.
Warning! Do NOT shut off air to inlet for
extended periods of time. This can cause
motor to overheat and shut off!

To attach the Drum
Grounding Wire, start a
small hole in bottom of
cone above ex hose
and in the top of the
dust drum, then attach
the wire with the 3/8”
included self-tapping
screws.
11. Attach ex hose to top of dust drum with wire hose
clamp. Slide drum underneath cyclone and attach top
of ex hose to bottom of cyclone with another wire hose
clamp. You may want to use a little liquid soap to help
slide ex hose on cyclone. You will need a phillips head
screw driver to tighten the clamps. Attach dust drum top
to barrel with clamp ring.

VI. Filter Maintenance & Cleaning
Filter Cartridge Cleaning Intervals
Optional Cleaning Procedure
Caution! Fine dust collected in filter is hazardous to your health! Do not breathe!
Filters are easily cleaned by removing and lightly tapping on oor. Dirt and debris will fall away
from the lter. Filter can be placed inside of a plastic bag and gently tapped. Wear dust mask
when cleaning lter. For more thorough cleaning, use the following steps.
1. Remove Filter from system and clean using compressed air (90 psi max.), blow the loose surface dust off of the lter,
blowing from the outside / in to prevent forcing the dust into the media pores. Keep nozzle 6 - 8” from surface.
2. After cleaning, inspect Filter for damage. Do not re-use a lter with bad gaskets, dented metal parts, torn media, etc...
Never operate Cobra without the lter in place! This can damage the motor and void the warranty!
1. Rinse the lter with a water hose (40 psi max.) on the outside. Wash from outside. Avoid getting water on the inside of
lter. Do not use high pressure nozzle or a power washer on inside of lter. The PTFE membrane surface on the inside of
the lter is fragile and can be damaged.
2. Blow excess water off using compressed air (50 psi). Keep nozzle 6 - 8” away
from inside surface to avoid damaging membrane.
3. Dry lters prior to returning them to service. It is NOT recommended to dry at
temperatures above 150 Deg. F. The lter must be absolutely dry before re-use.
Allow at least 24 hours of drying time.
4. Protect the lter from dust during the drying process.
5. Re-install the lter and run the collector 10 - 15 minutes without collecting any dust.
Assure that all moisture is gone and there are no leaks prior to continuing service.
1. Push bottom of blast gate
up to seal the vacuum.
2. Sharply push bar down and
hold for 5 seconds then
release. Repeat this “popping”
a few times.
3. Pull gate back down to
open suction to hose.
Frequent pulse cleaning of
the filter will keep vacuum
performance optimal.
If air flow is not restored,
check for clogs and clean
filter.
Check to make sure filter is
in good condition with no
cracks or tears or interrup-
tions in the seal.
When you replace filter,
make sure you tighten filter
only enough to make a
secure seal. If you over
tighten your filter you can
break it.
A broken filter can leak
material into the motor
and cause severe
damage!
You cannot operate the
Dust Cobra without a
proper filter in place. This
can also cause severe
damage to the motor and
will void warranty!
How to Use the Filter Pulse Cleaning Bar
Warning! Do NOT shut off air to inlet for
extended periods of time. This can cause
motor to overheat and shut off!
