ZWECKBESTIMMUNG
Die Handgelenkstütze Polfit ist ausschließlich für die orthetische Versorgung des
Handgelenks und des Daumens (REF. P1117) einzusetzen.
KONFORMITÄTSERKLÄRUNG
ORTHOSERVICE AG erklärt als Hersteller in alleiniger Verantwortung, dass das
Produkt die grundlegenden Anforderungen des Anhangs I der Richtlinie 93/42/EEC
MDD Medical devices rev. 2007/47/EU erfüllt.
MATERIAL
Handgelenkstütze hergestellt aus atmungsaktivem 3D-Gewebe mit vorgeformter und
formbarer Aluminium-Handgelenkschiene (entnehmbar) und Aluminium-Daumen-
schiene (nur REF. P1117, entnehmbar) und Verstärkungsschiene des Handrückens
aus Kunststoff. Klettbänder mit Schnallen.
ANPROBE UND ABGABE
Bei der Abgabe des Produktes ist der richtige Sitz zu überprüfen. Achten Sie dabei
darauf, die Anleitung zum Anpassen und Anlegen des Produktes exakt zu befolgen.

• Das Produkt ist wartungsfrei.
• Waschanweisung: Die Schienen herausziehen. Von Hand in handwarmem Wasser
(30° C) mit neutraler Seife waschen; sorgfältig spülen.

• Die Orthese und ihre Bestandteile müssen nach dem Gebrauch sachgerecht
entsorgt werden.
VORSICHTSMASSNAHMEN
Das Produkt sollte keinen Druck auf Körperteile ausüben, die Verletzungen, Schwel-
lungen oder Tumeszenzen aufweisen. Wenden Sie sich bei Zweifeln über die Art der
Anwendung bitte an Ihren Orthopädietechniker. Das Produkt sollte nicht in der Nähe
von offenem Feuer oder starken elektromagnetischen Feldern verwendet werden.
HINWEISE
Das Produkt muss von einem Arzt verschrieben und unter ärztlicher Kontrolle benutzt
werden. Es wird von einem Orthopädietechniker angelegt, der sowohl für das Anlegen
wie auch für die Informationen über den sicheren Gebrauch entsprechend Ihren
persönlichen Anforderungen Ihr kompetenter Ansprechpartner ist. Die Wirksamkeit,
Verträglichkeit und die Funktionalität des Produktes sind nur dann garantiert, wenn
es immer mit größter Sorgfalt angelegt wird. Jede eventuelle Änderung der Struktur
oder der Einstellung muss von einem Arzt verordnet und von einem Orthopädietechniker
ausgeführt werden. Es wird empfohlen, dass das Produkt immer nur von einem

ANPASSEN FÜR DEN ARZT/TECHNIKER
Die Aluminium-Handgelenkschiene aus der Handgelenkstütze ziehen und dem
Handgelenk des Patienten anpassen. Die Schiene wieder in die Handgelenkstütze
einschieben (Abb. 1). Denselben Schritt für die Metall-Daumenschiene ausführen.
ANLEGEN FÜR DEN PATIENTEN
Alle Klettbänder öffnen (und vorläufig auf sich selbst verschließen).
Die Stütze so anlegen, dass die Metallschiene an der Handfläche anliegt
und der Daumen in die betreffende Stütze eingeführt werden kann (Abb. A).
Mit dem Klettverschluß den entsprechenden Stoffeinsatz verschließen (Abb. B).
Wenn eine komplette Öffnung nicht notwendig ist, ist die Hand unter Maßgabe
der selben Vorgaben (Position der Metallschiene an der Handfläche) in die
geschlossene Stütze einzuführen (Abb. C).
Die Stütze fixieren:
• Das mittlere Band um das Handgelenk wickeln, durch die entsprechende
Schnalle führen, festziehen und mit dem Klettband schließen (Abb. D).
• Die restlichen Bänder durch die jeweiligen Schnallen führen, festziehen und
mit den Klettbändern schließen: Zuerst das Hand- (Abb. E) und dann das
Vorderarmband (Abb. F).
Nachdem die Stütze fixiert ist, das Klettband der Daumenstütze schließen (Abb. G).

SCOPE OF DELIVERY
The Polfit wrist brace includes:

SCOPE OF APPLICATION
The Polfit wrist brace is to be used exclusively for orthotic care of the wrist
and the thumb (REF. P1117).
DECLARATION OF CONFORMITY
As the manufacturer, ORTHOSERVICE AG on its sole responsibility declares that the
product meets the basic requirements of annex I of the Directive 93/42/EEC MDD
Medical devices rev. 2007/47/EU.
MATERIAL
Wrist brace made of 3D breathable fabric with removable, preformed and malleable
aluminium palm splint and thumb splint (REF. P1117 only, removable), and reinforcing
dorsal plastic stays. Fastening with buckles and Velcro®straps. (Velcro®is a registered

TESTING AND HANDING-OVER
When handing over the product the correct fit is to be checked. Please make sure to
follow the instructions of adapting and putting on the appliance exactly.

ADAPTING FOR THE DOCTOR / TECHNICIAN
Adjust the palm metal splint to adapt it to the patient’s wrist after removing it
from the brace. Put the splint back into the brace (Fig. 1).
Repeat the procedure for the thumb metal splint.
PUTTING ON THE APPLIANCE FOR THE PATIENT
Open all the Velcro®straps and pull the straps out of the buckle
(fastening them provisionally on themselves).
Apply the brace such that the metal splint is positioned at the palm and
the thumb is inserted into the provided support (Fig. A). Close the fabric insert
by using the Velcro®fastening (Fig. B).
In case a complete opening of the brace is not necessary, put the hand under
the above mentioned precautions (positioning the metal splint at the palm)
into the closed brace (Fig. C).
Fixing the brace:
• Wrap the central strap around the wrist, pass it through the relevant buckle,
tighten it and fasten it with the Velcro®strap (Fig. D).
• Pass the remaining straps through the relevant buckles, tighten them and fasten
them with the Velcro®, first the hand one (Fig. E) and then the forearm one (Fig. F).
After fixing the brace fasten the Velcro®strap of the thumb opening (Fig. G).

MAINTENANCE

• The product is maintenance-free.
• Washing instructions: Remove the splint. Hand wash in lukewarm water
with mild soap (at max. 30° C); rinse thoroughly. Dry away from heat sources.
• Do not dispose of the device or any of its components.
PRECAUTIONS
It is advised that the pressure exerted by the product does not act on parts of the
body suffering from wounds, swelling or lumps. If in doubt about how to apply,
contact an orthopedic technician. The device should not be worn in the vicinity of
open flames or strong electromagnetic fields.
WARNINGS
The product should be prescribed, used under medical supervision and applied by an
orthopedic technician, the competent authority figure for the application as well as for
information on the safe use, according to individual needs. To ensure the effectiveness,
tolerability, and correct operation, it is necessary that the device is put on with the
utmost care. Any changes to the structure or adjustment of the device must be
prescribed by a physician and performed by an orthopedic technician. Under no
circumstances should the adjustment made by the physician/orthopedic technician be
altered. Use of the product is recommended for a single patient. With hypersensitive
patients, direct contact with skin may cause redness or irritation. In the case of onset
of pain, swelling, lumps or any unusual reaction, immediately contact your physician.

ADAPTATION POUR LE MÉDECIN / L’ORTHOPÉDISTE-ORTHÉSISTE
Retirer la tige en aluminium du poignet et adapter au patient. Remettre la tige à
nouveau dans le support (Fig. 1). Faire de même pour la tige de pouce en métal.
ENFILAGE POUR LE PATIENT
Ouvrir tous les scratchs ( les fermer entre eux provisoirement).
Positionner la tige de manière à ce que la tige en métal s’adapte à la surface de
la main, le pouce peut être introduit dans l’support correspondante (Fig. A).
Fermer le tissu à l’aide des scratchs (Fig. B).
Si une ouverture complète n’est pas nécessaire, la main doit être introduite de la
même façon ( la tige métallique adaptée à la main) dans le support fermé (Fig. C).
Fixer l’attelle:
• Enrouler le bandage du milieu autour du poignet, le glisser dans la boucle
correspondante, tirer et fermer avec le scratch (Fig. D)
• Glisser les bandages restants dans les boucles respectives, tirer et fermer
avec les scratchs. D’abord la main (Fig. E) puis l’avant-bras (Fig. F)
Après avoir fixé l’attelle, fermer le scratch du support du pouce (Fig. G).

DESTINAZIONE D’USO
Impiegare la polsiera Polfit esclusivamente per il trattamento ortesico del polso
e del pollice (REF. P1117).

ADATTAMENTO PER IL MEDICO / IL TECNICO ORTOPEDICO
Modellare la stecca metallica palmare per adattarla al polso del paziente
dopo averla sfilata dall’ortesi. Reinserire la stecca nell’apposita tasca (Fig. 1).
Ripetere la stessa operazione anche per la stecca metallica del pollice.
APPLICAZIONE PER IL PAZIENTE
Aprire tutti i cinturini a Velcro® (richiudendoli provvisoriamente su loro stessi).
Se necessario aprire completamente il tutore e posizionare l’arto in modo che la
stecca metallica risulti dal lato del palmo della mano e che il pollice si inserisca
nell’apposita sede (Fig. A). Chiudere a Velcro®l’apposito inserto in maglina (Fig. B).
Se l’apertura completa non fosse necessaria, infilare la mano nella polsiera
chiusa con le medesime precauzioni (posizione stecca) (Fig. C).
Bloccare il tutore:
• Avvolgere il cinturino centrale attorno al polso, farlo passare nel corrispondente
anello, stringerlo e fissarlo a Velcro®(Fig. D)
• Far passare i rimanenti cinturini negli anelli corrispondenti, stringerli e fissarli
a velcro: quello di mano (Fig. E) e quello di avambraccio (Fig. F)
Dopo aver bloccato il tutore, chiudere a Velcro®il cinturino della presa pollice (Fig. G).

MANUTENZIONE

• Istruzioni per il lavaggio: Sfilare le stecche metalliche. Lavare a mano
in acqua tiepida (30° C) con sapone neutro; risciacquare accuratamente.
Lasciare asciugare lontano da fonti di calore
• Non disperdere nell’ambiente il dispositivo né alcuna sua componente
PRECAUZIONI
Si raccomanda che le pressioni esercitate dal dispositivo non agiscano su parti
del corpo che presentano ferite, gonfiori o tumefazioni. In caso di dubbio sulle
modalità di applicazione, rivolgersi ad un tecnico ortopedico. È consigliabile non
indossare il dispositivo in vicinanza di fiamme libere o forti campi elettromagnetici.
AVVERTENZE
Il prodotto deve essere prescritto e utilizzato sotto controllo medico e applicato da
un tecnico ortopedico, che è la figura competente di riferimento sia per l’applicazione
sia per informazioni inerenti ad un uso sicuro, in conformità alle esigenze individuali.
Per garantirne l’efficacia, la tollerabilità e il corretto funzionamento è necessario che
l’applicazione venga effettuata con la massima cura. Qualsiasi eventuale modifica di
struttura o di regolazione del dispositivo deve essere prescritta da un medico ed
eseguita da un tecnico ortopedico. Se ne raccomanda l’utilizzo da parte di un solo
paziente. In soggetti ipersensibili il contatto diretto con la pelle potrebbe causare
rossori o irritazioni. In caso di comparsa di dolori, gonfiori, tumefazioni o qualsiasi
altra reazione anomala, rivolgersi immediatamente al proprio medico.
