The PANTIN (left or right) is not
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
The PANTIN is an accessory to aid in
progression. It facilitates rope climbing
by helping keep the body upright but
it does not protect against falls from
height.
Use the hole only for carrying the
PANTIN on a belt.

Before each use
Verify that the product is free of cracks, deformation,
marks, wear, corrosion,etc.
Before each use, visually inspect the device for wear of the
straps and frame, and the condition of the cam (spring and
axle).
WARNING, do not use a PANTIN that has missing or worn-
out teeth.
WARNING:Be careful of foreign bodies which can impede
the operation of the cam.

On the inside of the foot: The straps are fully adjustable to adapt to your footwear and to allow the height to be
altered (low position for more power, high position for better comfort).

Push the cam to install the rope.
With the device installed
on rope, verify that it jams
in the desired direction.
To eject the rope from the PANTIN, make a simple backward
kicking movement.
Caving-type progression

It is preferable to use
the right-foot PANTIN, in
conjunction with CROLL
and ASCENSION rope
clamps.
Tip: fix the footloop
to the left leg with
elastic loops. When
walking, the top end of
the footloop is simply
clipped to an equipment
loop (see drawing). The
left-foot PANTIN is not
recommended for this
configuration, because of
the increased complexity
of passing rebelays.

Push with both legs at the same
time (more comfortable and more

Arborist-type progression

The two PANTINs,
right and left foot,
are employed using
double rope technique
in conjunction with an
ASCENTREE handled rope
clamp.
Caving-type progression

- Climbing using alternate legs
One leg after the other (very fast). The
TORSEC26 shoulder straps must be
looser to allow the chest to remain
upright. This technique requires good
physical fitness and serious training.
It is easier to introduce yourself to this
technique where you can be in contact
with the rock face.

Lifetime WARNING, in extreme cases, the lifetime of the product can be reduced to one single use through exposure to for example any of the following:chemicals, extreme temperatures, sharp edges, major fall or load,etc. The maximum lifetime of Petzl products is as follows:up to 10years from the date of manufacture for plastic and textile products. It is indefinite for metallic products. The actual lifetime of a product ends when it meets one of the retirement criteria listed below (see “When to retire your equipment”), or when in its system use it is judged obsolete. The actual lifetime is influenced by a variety of factors such as:the intensity, frequency, and environment of use, the competence of the user, how well the product is stored and maintained,etc.
Inspect equipment periodically for damage and/or deterioration. In addition to the inspection before and during use, a periodic in-depth inspection must be carried out by a competent inspector. This inspection must be performed at least once every 12months. The frequency of the in-depth inspection must be governed by the type and the intensity of use. To keep better track of your equipment, it is preferable to assign each piece of equipment to a unique user so that he will know its history. The results of inspections should be documented in an “inspection record”. This document must allow recording of the following details:type of equipment, model, name and contact information of the manufacturer or distributor, means of identification (serial or individual number), year of manufacture, date of purchase, date of first use, name of user, all other pertinent information for example maintenance and frequency of use, the history of periodic inspections
(date/ comments and noted problems/ name and signature of the competent person who performed the inspection/ anticipated date of next inspection). See example of detailed inspection record and other informational tools available at www.petzl.com/ppe
When to retire your equipment Immediately retire any equipment if: - it fails to pass inspection (inspection before and during use and the periodic in-depth inspection), - it has been subjected to a major fall or load, - you do not know its full usage history, - it is at least 10years old and made of plastics or textiles, - you have any doubt as to its integrity. Destroy retired equipment to prevent further use. Product obsolescence There are many reasons why a product may be judged obsolete and thus retired before the end of its actual lifetime. Examples include:changes in
applicable standards, regulations, or legislation; development of new techniques, incompatibility with other equipment,etc.
Modifications and repairs Do not modify your product in any way unless the modification is specifically authorized by Petzl. An unauthorized modification can reduce the product’s effectiveness. Repairs made outside of Petzl facilities are prohibited. Contact Petzl if your product needs repair. Storage, transport Dry your product after use and store it in a bag. Store it away from exposure to UV, moisture, chemical products,etc.
Traceability and markings Do not remove any markings or labels. You must check to ensure that the product markings remain legible during the entire lifetime of the product. Guarantee This product is guaranteed for 3years against any faults in materials or manufacture. Exclusions from the guarantee:normal wear and tear, oxidation, modifications or alterations, incorrect storage, poor maintenance, damage due to accidents, to negligence, and to uses for which this product was not designed. PETZL is not responsible for the consequences, direct, indirect or accidental, or any other type of damage befalling or resulting from the use of its products.

フットアッセンダー
1. 用途について
『パンタン』（左足用および右足用）は個人保護用具（PPE）ではありません。
『パンタン』はロープ登高をより効率的にするための器具です。 体をまっすぐ
に保ち、ロープ登高を楽にするための器具であり、墜落を止めるための器具
ではありません。
ホール（本体に開いている穴）は、持ち運びの際に器具をハーネス等にクリップ
するために使用します。
ランヤードを取り付けて自己確保等に使用しないでください。
製品に表示された破断強度以上の荷重をかける使用や、本来の用途以外での
使用は絶対に避けてください。
警告
この製品を使用する高所での活動には危険が伴います。
ユーザー各自が自身の行為、判断についてその責任を負うこととします。
使用する前に必ず：
- 取扱説明書をよく読み、理解してください
- この製品を正しく使用するための適切な指導を受けてください
- この製品の機能とその限界について理解してください
- 高所での活動に伴う危険について理解してください

2. 各部の名称

3. 点検のポイント
毎回、使用前に
製品に亀裂や変形、傷、磨耗、腐食等がないことを確認してください。
毎回、使用前に、ストラップやフレームの磨耗具合およびカムの状態（スプリン
グおよび軸の部分も）を点検してください。
警告：カムの歯が欠けている『パンタン』は使用しないでください。
警告：異物によってカムの動きが妨げられないように注意してください。
4. セット方法
足の内側に取り付けます： ストラップは履いている靴にあわせて調節でき、ま
た高さの調節も可能です（低い位置にすると力が伝わりやすく、高い位置にす
ると動きやすくなります）。
5. ロープのセット方法
カムを押してロープをセットしてください。 膝を曲げて足を後ろに上げることに
より、手を使わずにロープを外すことができます。
6. 機能の確認
器具をロープにセットし、荷重がかかる方向に引いてカムがロープをロックす
ることを確認してください。
7. ケイビング式ロープ登高
ロープクランプの『クロール』および『アッセンション』と併せて、右足用の『パン
タン』を使用することをお勧めします。
アドバイス：フットループは伸縮性のあるバンド等で左足に固定します。 歩い
て移動する際は、カラビナでギアループにクリップします（図参照）。 この方法
で左足用の『パンタン』を使用することはお勧めしません。リビレイの通過が
複雑になります。
- 両足を同時に使っての登高
両足で同時に立ちこみます（より楽な登り方です）。
- 左右の足を交互に使っての登高
片足ごと交互に立ちこみます（速く登ることができます）。 動きやすくするため、
ショルダーストラップは緩めにしてください。 この方法はより体力を必要とし、
またしっかりとトレーニングを積む必要があります。 初めてこの方法で登るとき
は、壁面に接することができる場所で行うとより簡単です。
8. アーボリスト式ロープ登高
2個の『パンタン』（右足用と左足用）とハンドル付ロープクランプ『アッセンツリ
ー』を使用したダブルロープテクニックで登ります。
9. 一般注意事項
耐用年数
警告：以下にあげるような極めて異例な状況においては、1回の使用で損傷が
生じ、その後使用不可能になる場合があります：化学薬品との接触、鋭利な角
との接触、極端な高/低温下での使用や保管、大きな墜落や過荷重等。ペツル
製品の耐用年数は以下の通りです：プラスチック製品、繊維製品は最長で製造
日から10年。 金属製品には特に設けていません。
ただし、下に記された?廃棄基準?の内一つ以上に該当する場合や、技術や基
準の進歩を反映した新しい器具との併用に適さないと判断される場合は直ち
に廃棄してください。
実際の耐用年数は様々な要因によって決まります。例：製品を使用する環境、使
用の頻度、状況、ユーザーの能力、保存やメンテナンスの状況等
製品に損傷や劣化がないか定期的に点検してください。
安全のため、使用前、使用中の点検に加え、専門家による綿密な点検を定期
的に行う必要があります。 綿密な点検は少なくとも12ヶ月ごとに行う必要があ
りますが、 必要な頻度は、使用の頻度と程度、目的により異なります。 また、各
PPEユーザーが用具の使用履歴を把握できるようにするため、各ユーザーが専
用の用具を持ち、未使用の状態から管理することをお勧めします。 用具をより
よく管理するため、製品ごとに点検記録をとることをお勧めします。 点検記録
に含める内容：用具の種類、モデル、製造者または販売元の名前と連絡先、製
造番号、識別番号、製造年、購入日、初めて使用した時の日付、ユーザー名、その
他の関連情報(例：メンテナンス、使用頻度、定期点検の履歴、点検日、コメント、
点検者の名前と署名、次回点検予定日) 詳しい点検記録の見本はwww.petzl.
com/ppeを参照ください。
廃棄基準
以下のいずれかに該当する製品は以後使用しないでください：
- 使用前、使用中の点検、または定期点検において使用不可と判断された
- 大きな墜落を止めた場合や、非常に大きな荷重がかかった
- 完全な使用履歴が分からない
- プラスチック製品または繊維製品で、製造日から10年以上経過した
- 製品の状態に疑問がある
使用しなくなった製品は、以後使用されることを避けるため廃棄してください。
新しい技術および器具の発達
製品が、システムの中での使用に適さないと判断され、実際の耐用期間が過ぎ
る前に廃棄される場合の理由は様々です。 例：関連する基準、規格、法律の変
更、新しい技術の発達、他の器具との併用に適しない等
改造と修理
製品の機能を損ねる危険性があるため、ペツルによって認められた場合を除
き、製品の改造および修理を禁じます。 ペツルの認めない改造を行った場合、
製品の機能を損なう危険性があります。
ペツル工場以外での修理は認められません。 修理が必要な場合は、(株)アルテ
リア(TEL：[phone])にご相談ください。
持ち運びと保管
使用後は乾燥させて袋に入れて保管してください。
紫外線、湿気、化学薬品等を避けて保管してください。
トレーサビリティとマーキング
製品に付いているマーキングを消したり、タグを切り取ったりしないでくださ
い。 製品に記載されたマーキングが、使用期間中識別できる状態にあるよう
注意してください。
保証
この製品には、原材料及び製造過程における欠陥に対し3年間の保証期間が
設けられています。 ただし以下の場合は保証の対象外とします：通常の磨耗や
傷、酸化、改造や改変、正しくない保管方法、メンテナンスの不足、事故または
過失による損傷、不適切または誤った使用方法による故障
ペツル及びペツル総輸入販売元である株式会社アルテリアは、製品の使用か
ら生じた直接的、間接的、偶発的結果またはその他のいかなる損害に対し、一
切の責任を負いかねます。
