SoundPoint IP Phones Manual Configuration
This guide will show you how to manually setup a Polycom SoundPoint 320, 321, 330, 331, 335, 450, 550, 560,
650, 670 phone for use with VirtualPBX. Please be sure that your Polycom phone is using firmware version 3.
1. Login to your VirtualPBX account as an Admin
2. Click on the Admin Tab
3. Click on the VoIP Phones menu option on the left hand side
4. Click on Add Softphone

5. Click on Add 3rd Party Softphone
6. Record the username, password, and server
Configuring Your Phone
The following steps are for manually provisioning a new Polycom
SoundPoint IP phone or one that has been reset back to factory
defaults. If in doubt, reset your Polycom SoundPoint back to its
factory default settings (instructions at end of document).
7. Start up your phone and identify its IP address. You can find
your phone’ s IP address by going to the Status section within the
menu. Once in the Status section, click on the Network option
and select TCP/IP Parameters. Example: 192.168.1.123
8. Point your browser to the phone’s web interface by typing
http:// and the phone’s IP address. Example: http://192.168.1.123
9. You’ l l now need to register your Polycom SoundPoint with
VirtualPBX. Click on the Lines tab to begin.
10. In the Identification section of the Lines tab:
a. Set Address to the username combined with
virtualpbx.net, as shown to the right.
b. Set Auth User ID to the username
c. Set A uth Password to the extension’ s password
d. Set Label to the name you want to appear on
the phone’ s display

11. In the Server 1 section of the Lines tab, do the following:
a. Set Address to the IP address of the VirtualPBX machine. Example: registrar1.virtualpbx.net
b. Set Port to 5060, which is the default
12. In the Server 2 section of the Lines tab, do the following:
a. Set Address to the IP address of the VirtualPBX machine. Example: registrar2.virtualpbx.net
b. Set Port to 5060, which is the default
13. Click the Submit button at the bottom of the page. Your Polycom phone will restart itself and after it’s finished
rebooting, your phone will register itself with VirtualPBX.
Optional: Factory Reset Polycom SoundPoint IP Phone
If your Polycom phone was locked or automatically provisioned with your previous provider, follow these steps
to prevent the previous configuration from interfering with your VirtualPBX service before you configure your
phone (steps 7-13 above).
1. Unplug the power cord
2. Wait 10 seconds
3. Plug phone back in, then immediately press and hold all of these buttons:
• For IP 320/321, 330/331/335, 430, and 560 phones: 1,3,5,7
• For IP 301, 501, 550, 600/601, and 650 phones: 4,6,8,*
• For IP 4000 phones: 6,8,*
4. Once this is done, enter the admin password: 456
