•It is advisable to support the engine as shown in picture 1 to prevent any
engine movement when the original engine bolts are loosened/removed
(do not use excessive force as damage can occur).
Near side (left side as you sit on the motorcycle)
•Remove the gear-shift lever bolt arrowed in picture 2 and move the gear-shift
assembly to rest on the pillion footrest to keep it out of the way for future
operations.
•Unclip the push in wiring/cable guide arrowed in picture 3.
•Remove the two bolts arrowed in picture 4 and carefully ease the plastic
sprocket cover away from the engine (do not remove completely at this stage and
leave the metal spacer/bracket in place).
•Unclip the push in wiring/cable guide arrowed in picture 5 and remove the cover.
Off side (right side as you sit on the motorcycle)
•Remove the nut arrowed in picture 6.
Near side (left side as you sit on the motorcycle)
•Remove the bolt arrowed in picture 7.
•Remove the bolt arrowed in picture 8 (please ensure to retain the spacer
arrowed in picture 9 for use on assembly of the adventure bars).
•Remove the bolt arrowed in picture 10 (please ensure to retain the spacer
arrowed in picture 11 for use on assembly of the adventure bars).
•Place one of the M10 washers (item 5) onto the longest M10 hex headed bolt
(item 4), place the bolt and washer through the left-hand side adventure bar
(item 1) lower mounting bracket and place the longest spacer (item 7) onto the
exposed bolt as shown in picture 12.
•Offer this assembly into position as shown in the picture 13 and push the bolt
into the original engine bolt hole.
•Place the longest M10 (130mm long) cap head bolt (item 2) into the upper
mounting boss then through the frame bracket and original spacer (engage the
thread but do not tighten at this stage) as shown in picture 14.
•Place one of the M10 (90mm long) cap head (item 8) bolts into the forward
mounting bracket then through the front frame bracket and the original spacer
(engage the thread but do not tighten at this stage) as shown in picture 15.
Off side (right side as you sit on the motorcycle)
•Remove the bolt arrowed in picture 16 (please ensure to retain the spacer
arrowed in picture 17 for use on assembly of the adventure bars).
•Remove the bolt arrowed in picture 18 (please ensure to retain the spacer
arrowed in picture 19 for use on assembly of the adventure bars).
•Place the shortest spacer (item 10) onto the exposed thread of the lower bolt as
shown in picture 20.
•Offer the right-hand side adventure bar (item 11) into position as shown in the
picture 21.
•Place the remaining M10 washer (item 5) and the original nut onto the exposed
thread (do not tighten at this stage).
