5On adjustable TXVs, turning the adjusting stem will increase/decrease the superheat.
Wait a minimum of 10 minutes between adjustments to avoid overshooting your target setting.
Clean a section of the suction line thoroughly for the sensing bulb.
The bulb should be located on the suction line as close to the evaporator as possible and
before the equalizer line.
Never place a flame near the bulb location without first removing the bulb. Heating the
bulb will over-pressurize the refrigerant inside the bulb and damage the TXV.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: RFGD, RFGF, RFGK SERIES TXV
For TXVs with threaded connections; Use a torque wrench to prevent
leaks from over-tightening.

For brazing install,
a. Wrap a wet rag around the valve to cool the internals during the brazing process.
b. Uncoil the sensing bulb and move it away from the valve during brazing.
c. Flow nitrogen through the valve to ensure a clean environment and prevent oxidation.
d. Use a 15% silver brazing alloy and keep the torch pointed away from the valve.
e. While brazing, heat the system line first, minimizing the amount of time the torch is
on the TXV’s connection
