I.Introduction
TheShuttleRecoveryOwner’sManualhasbeenpreparedtohelpyoumakefulluseofallthe
capabilitiesofyourShuttleRecovery,whetherforefficientrehabilitationorforathletictraining
andperformance.Thismanualcontainsinstructionsabouthowtoassemble,adjust,use,and
maintainyourShuttleRecovery.Withthisknowledge-andyourownimagination-the
extraordinaryfeaturesoftheShuttleRecoverywillallowyoutodesignacustomizedworkout
programtoreachallyourfitnessorrehabilitationgoals.

ContemporaryDesignCompany(“CDC”)makeseveryefforttoassure
thatitsproductsmeethighqualityanddurabilitystandardsandwarrantstotheoriginalretail
consumer/purchaserofourproductsthateachproductbefreefromdefectsinworkmanshipand
materialsundernormalandreasonableuseandcorrectassembly(ifassembledby
consumer/purchaser),asfollows.Warrantydoesnotapplytodefectsduedirectlyorindirectly
tomisuse,abuse,negligenceoraccidents,repairsoralterationsoutsideourfacilitiesortoalack
ofmaintenance.

AssemblyoftheShuttleRecoveryrequirestwopeople.Itisrecommendedthatyoubegin
assemblybyopeningbothbox1and2andfamiliarizingyourselfwiththeincludedparts.
KeepinmindthatthefollowingimagespertaintojustoneofthefouravailableShuttleRecovery
models,yourpartsmayappearslightlydifferentthanthoseintheincludedimagesbut,the
requiredstepsremainthesame.

Step1:RailFrameAssembly(Box1)
1. Locatetherighthand(RH)FramePanel,thispanelhaslabeledholesofRH1,RH2,RH3,
andRH4.PlacetheRHFramePanelonaflatsurfacewiththeassemblylabelsfacing
towardyou.Supporteachendwithalargecardboardpackingblock(Box2).
Step2:AttachFootendBracket(Box1)
1. LocatethetwoboltslabeledasRH1inthenarrowendoftheframepanel.Removethe
nutsfromtheboltsandsetaside.
2. LocateFootendBracket(aluminumbracketwithkeyholes).SetasideFoamRetainer
Stripfrominsidethebracketforlateruse.Withbracketorientedwiththeserialnumber
stickerfacingawayfromthenarrowendofthemachine,linebracketRH1holesupwith
thetwoRH1boltsontheframepanel.Correctbracketplacementwillresultinthe
bracketkeyholesupright(withtheholestowardthetopoftheframeandtheslots
towardthebottom).
3. Placethetwo5/16boltsupthroughthelowerandupperholesinthebracketandlightly
reattachthe5/16nuts.

Step3:AttachSupportTubes(Box2)
1. Locatethe3blacksupporttubes.
2. Startingwithtube2(markedinsideoftubeend),removethenutfromtheRHendofthe
threadedrodandaligninrespectiveholeinframepanel,matchingassemblystickerto
assemblystickerasshownbelow.Replacenut.Lightlytighten.
3. Repeatwithtube4(andtube5,ifassemblingaRecoverySenior).
4. Repeatwithtube3,takingnotethattube3includesawasherandnut.
5. Whenfinished,tube4’sElasticordLanyardPlateshouldbeorientedwithlabelsfacingup
towardthemetalrailsofyourframeandrestingagainstthestopprotrudingfromtheframe.
6. Removenutsandwashersfromoppositeend(LH)ofalltubes.

Step4:AttachLeftHandSidePanel
1. Removethetwo5/16boltsandnutsfromthetwoLH1holesintheLHframepanel.
2. PlacetheLeftSidePanelovertheupwardfacingthreadedrodsonthesupporttubes,
wiggletheRHtubestoalignthethreecorrespondingholesonthesidepanel.
3. ChecktobesuretheendsoftheRHtubesareflushagainsttheleftandrightside
panels.
4. Addthetwo5/16boltsthroughthetoprailframeintotheFootendBracket,lightlytighten
nuts.
5. Replacethenutsandwasher(washertocentertubeonly)ontheupwardfacingthreaded
rods.
6. Rotatetheentireframeassemblyandplaceitonthefloorwithfeetdown.
7. TightennutsonRHandLHsideofoutsideofframe.

Step5:AddthePlyometricXBrace(Box1)
DoesnotapplytoRecoveryStandardorRecoverySenior
1. LocatethetworedrubbercoatedrodsthatwillmakeuptheX-bracesupportsystem.Please
notethatonlyoneendofeachrodwillhaveawasherinadditiontothenutprovided.
2. Removeoutermostnutsandwashersfromrodends(fournuts,andtwowashers)and
setaside.
3. PlacetherodsinanXconfigurationbetweentheholesprovidedoneachsideoftherail
frameandaligntherodendsusingthestickersontherightsidepanelasyourguide.
4. Securetherodendsclosesttothehead-endofthemachineusingprovidednutsand
washers.Securerodendsclosesttothefoot-endofthemachinewithnuts.
5. Thenutsattachingtheanglebracetotherodsmaybeadjustedtomaketheboltsfitinto
theholesexactly.Tightenthesenutstolocktherodsinplace.

Step6:AddtheElasticords(Box1)
1. LocateyourElasticordsandyour2barbells(6”threadedrodswithrubbercaps).
2. Workingfromthetopside,threadthenylonwebbingofyourElasticordsthroughthe
ElasticordLanyardPlate(RH4)severalinchesstartingwithtealcordsinthe25lbslotand
endingwiththegreyinthe12lbslot(ifassemblingaRecoverySenior,startwiththeyellow
cordinthe5lbslot,tealcordsinthe25lbslots,andgreycordinthe12lbslot).
3. Startingwith4cordsatatime,threadonebarbellthroughtheloopedendsofthenylon
webbingsothe4nylonloopsrestbetweentheblackbarbellheads.Repeatwithany
remainingcords(numberofcordsvariesdependingonmachinemodel)andsecondbarbell.
4. PullcordstautsothebarbelllaysagainsttheundersideoftheElasticLanyardPlate.

5. FromtheoppositeendoftheShuttle,pullthesilverendofthegreyElasticordthroughthe
correspondingholeintheFootendBracketandsecureatthebottomofthekeyhole.
6. RepeatwithremainingElasticords.
Step7:AttachtheKickplateFrame(Box2)
1. LocatethetwoAluminumKickplateSupportBars.
2. Onbothsidesoftheframe,removethetwooutermost5/16boltsfromtheexternalbracket.

3. Placeonekickplatesupportbarwiththeforkedenddownandtheslopedbaroriented
towardthenarrowendofthemachine.
4. Slidethekickplatesupportbardownbetweentheframeandtheexternalsupportplate
assembly.
5. Insertthetwo5/16boltsandaddthe5/16nuts.
6. Tightenallthenutsandbolts.
7. RepeattheprocesswiththeKickplateSupportontheoppositeside.
Step8:AddtheKickplate(Box2)
1. Removeplasticcapsfromnutsonbacksideofkickplate.Removenuts.
2. Placethekickplateintothefourholesonthekickplatebars.
3. Addthenutsandtighten.
4. Replacetheplasticcaps.

7. TucktheFoamRetainerStripinsideoftheFootendBracketabovetheElasticordsto
keeptheminplace.

Step9:AddtheCarriage(Box2)
1. Removethetwoblackrubberbumperslocatedontopofthehead-endofeachrail.
2. Carefullyslidethecarriageontotherailframemakingsurethattheredwheelsslideon
topoftherailsandthewhitewheelsslideundertherails.
3. Standingatthehead-endofthemachine(oppositethekickplate)detachtheROMrope
fromthevelcroonthecarriageandattachtotheVelcroonthesupporttubedirectlyin
frontofyou.
4. Workingfromeithersideofthehead-end,locateoneeyebolt(attachedtotheROMrope)
andremovethealuminumknurledknobandstarwasher.Threadeyeboltthrough

designatedholetooutsideofmachineandsecurewithstarwasherandknurledknob.
Repeatontheoppositeside.
5. TheblackROMstrapwiththebluestripeshouldfallbetweenthetwohead-endeyebolts,
attachtothevelcrostriponSupportTube4.
6. Pullthecarriagetowardthehead-endoftherailframeexposingthenexttwoeyebolt
holesatthefoot-endoftheframe.
7. Insertandattachthetworemainingeyebolts,whiteplasticbushings,starwashersand
aluminumknobsintheholesmarkedforeyeboltsaboutmidwayintherailframe.
8. Whencomplete,theReboundRopeDonutRing(whitecordloopencirclingtheROM
ropes)shouldbeforward(towardfootend)oftheeyeboltsandbehindtheattachment
pointsonthecarriage.Theropesshouldnotcrossbutgofromthecarriageattachment
pointthroughthedonutringthentotheeyeboltonthesamesideoftheshuttleframe.
TheROMropesshouldnotimpedethemovementoftheElasticordswhenthecarriageis

9. Replacethetworubberstopsatthehead-endoftherailframe.
Step10:Headrest(Box2)
1. AddtheheadresttotheVelcrobackrestcovereitherwiththecurvedshouldersupports
forward,whichwillgivetheheadaslightupwardsupport,orrearwardwhichwillallowthe
headtobelower.

2. Connectplasticclamptoaluminumrodonsideofmachineframe.
3. ConnectTriggerSnapCarabinertodesiredeyebolt.

Step3:Useandadjustments
1. Handles-Byconnectingthehandlestotheropes,exercisesfortheupperextremities
andtrunkcanbeperformed.
2. FootStirrups-Thefootstirrupslipsunderthearchofthefootandaroundtheankle
whereitiscinchedinplacewithVelcro®.
3. RopeAdjustments-Theropescanbeadjustedatthreepoints.
a. EyeBolts-Movingthepulleysupordownalongthemultipleeyeboltlocations
allowsforvariousPNFanglestobeachieved.
b. Coarse-Feedropethroughthe3-holeropelocknearthehandlestoobtainthe
desiredropelength.
c. Fine-Adjustthethree-holeropelock.
