Damage due to unsuitable mounting location
zThe environmental conditions recommended by the manufacturer must be
observed (see Section 3: Technical data).
zDo not operate the device close to sources of powerful electromagnetic
radiation.
zDo not operate the device in dusty places.
zThe device should only be used for indoor applications.
zDo not expose the device to mechanical vibrations or shocks.
zProtect the device against moisture.
Cable damage due to mechanical load
zMake sure that cables are not under stress, kinked or damaged.
Damage to the device due to lack of ventilation
zDo not block or cover the ventilation openings of the device.
zDo not stack several devices on top of each other and do not place any objects
on the device.
zPlace this equipment only in an upright position. This equipment has an open-
frame Switching Mode Power Supply (SMPS), which can cause a fire or electric
shock if anything is inserted through the ventilation holes on the side of the
equipment.
Danger of electrical shock due to incorrect connection
zUse the device only in conjunction with a power supply cable that has been
approved in your country and complies with the national standards.
zThis product is designed for TN power systems and for IT power systems in
Norway with 230 V phase-to-phase voltage. Do not connect the device to any
other IT power systems.
Damage to the device due to overvoltage
zConnect the device only to power sources with the specified voltage. Voltage
supply requirements can be found on the type label (see Section 3: Technical
data).
1.2.3 Service and maintenance

zAlways disconnect the power cable and other cables from the main power
supply before performing maintenance.

zDisconnect the device from the mains supply before cleaning.

6 Installation
CAUTION Always disconnect the power cable and other cables from the main power
supply before installing the device.
The SISTORE AX4 Lite is designed to work with a variety of other equipment. The
basic system will consist of a video camera and system monitor.
Refer to the User Manual CD for details of installing each type of equipment.

Step 1:
Video In: Connect cameras (up to 4) to camera BNC inputs. If looping is required,
connect camera out to second source (second BNC).

Step 2:
Video Out: Connect a monitor to a composite video output for multi-screen display
and playback. A VGA connector is provided so that you can use a standard, multi-
sync computer monitor as your main monitor.
Step 3:
Power connector: Apply power to the unit.
7 Operation
7.1 Turning on the power
The SISTORE AX4 Lite is operational in approximately 60 seconds after the power
cable is connected to the system. The SISTORE AX4 Lite may be powered down by
selecting Shutdown from the System Menu. When shutting down the DVR, you
need to confirm that you want to shut down the unit. No on/off switch is provided.

Display modes
Press the desired camera number button to view the desired camera image, and
press the camera button again to change the displays format to the quad (2x2)
mode.
Recording
Once you have installed the system following the instructions described in the
User’s Manual, it is ready to record. There is no recording button on the front panel
to initiate recording video. The SISTORE AX4 Lite will start recording video
according to the schedule configured by the user and from external and internal
events such as alarm input, motion detection or text-in events.

7.2 Front panel buttons and LEDs
Power LED The Power LED is lit when the unit is On.
HDD LED The HDD LED flickers when the DVR is recording or searching video on the hard disk drive.
Alarm Out LED The Alarm LED is lit when alarm output or internal buzzer is activated.
Camera buttons (1 to 4) Pressing the individual camera buttons will cause the selected camera to display full screen,
and pressing the button again changes the display format to the quad (2x2) mode. Buttons 1
to 4 are also used to enter passwords.
In the PTZ mode, pressing the button 1 zooms in the screen and the button 2 zooms out the
screen, and pressing the button 3 focuses near and button 4 focuses far.
Play/Clip button Pressing the Play/Clip button enters the playback mode, and pressing the button again exits
the playback mode. When entering the playback mode, video is paused. Pressing the arrow
button plays back video at regular speed. The screen displays when the DVR is in the
Pause mode and the screen displays when the DVR is playing back video. The button is
also used to load a Preset View in the PTZ mode.
Pressing and holding the Play/Clip button for three seconds or longer allows you to copy video
clips.
Panic button Pressing the Panic button starts panic recoding of all camera channels, and displays on
the screen. Pressing the button again will stop panic recording.
PTZ/Zoom button In the live monitoring mode, pressing the PTZ/Zoom button enters the PTZ mode, and
pressing the button again exits the PTZ mode and enters the zoom mode. When in the zoom
mode, pressing the button again exits the zoom mode.
When in the PTZ mode, pressing the arrow buttons or Menu button allows you to control
properly configured cameras.
When in the zoom mode, a rectangle displays on the screen. A rectangle shows the area that
will be enlarged. You can move the rectangle around using the arrow buttons. Pressing the
(Enter) button in enlarges the area in rectangle.
Menu button
Pressing the Menu button enters the Setup screen. You will need to enter the authorized user
and password to access Setup. Pressing the button also closes the current menu or setup
dialog box. In the Playback mode, pressing the button displays the Search menu.
Pressing and holding the button for three seconds or longer displays live channels
sequentially.
Enter/Pause button
When in the setup mode, pressing the button selects a highlighted item or completes an
entry that you have made.
In the live monitoring mode, pressing the button freezes the current screen and the screen
displays icon. When in the playback mode, pressing the button pauses playing video.
Up, Down, Left, Right
Arrow buttons These buttons are used to navigate through menus and GUI.
The Up and Down arrow buttons are also used to change numbers by highlighting a number in
the menu and by increasing or decreasing the number’s value.
These buttons are also used to control Pan and Tilt when in the PTZ mode. In the playback
mode, pressing the button plays video backward at high speed. Pressing the button again
toggles the playback speed from , and , and the screen displays ,
and respectively. While playing video, pressing the button plays video forward at
high speed. Pressing the button again toggles the playback speed from , , and
, and the screen displays , , and respectively. When in the pause
mode, pressing the button moves to the next image and pressing the button moves to
the previous image.
7.3 Playback commands
Camera buttons (1 to 4) Pressing the individual camera buttons will cause the selected camera to display full screen.
Up, Down, Left, Right
Arrow buttons Pressing the button plays video backward at high speed. Pressing the button again toggles
the playback speed from , and . Pressing the button plays video forward at
high speed. Pressing the button again toggles the playback speed from , , and
. When in the pause mode, pressing the button moves to the next image and
pressing the button moves to the previous image.
Pause button Pressing the button pauses playing video.
Play button Pressing the Play button enters the playback mode, and pressing the button again exits the
playback mode. When entering the playback mode, video is paused. Pressing the button
plays back video at regular speed. The screen displays when the DVR is in the Pause mode
and the screen displays when the DVR is playing back video.
Zoom button Pressing the Zoom button zooms in the current image in double on the screen.

7.4 System setup
The front panel buttons are used to enter system commands and for programming.
Press Menu button on the front panel and enter the password by pressing the
appropriate combination of Camera number buttons and then the (Enter) button.
Refer to the User’s Manual for the setup instructions in detail. The documentation
is located on the CD or in the application folder on the PC hard disk (C:\SISTORE
AX\…).

8 Disposal
All electrical and electronic products should be disposed of separately from the
municipal waste stream via designated collection facilities appointed by the
government or the local authorities.
This crossed-out wheeled bin symbol on the product means the product is covered by
the European Directive 2002/96/EC.
The correct disposal and separate collection of your old appliance will help prevent
potential negative consequences for the environment and human health. It is a
precondition for reuse and recycling of used electrical and electronic equipment. For
more detailed information about disposal of your old appliance, please contact your
city office, waste disposal service or the shop where you purchased the product.

zBetreiben Sie das Gerät nicht in der Nähe einer stark elektromagnetischen
Strahlungsquelle.
zBetreiben Sie das Gerät nicht an staubigen Orten.
zVerwenden Sie das Gerät nur im Innenbereich.
zSetzen Sie das Gerät keiner Erschütterung aus.
zSchützen Sie das Gerät vor Feuchtigkeit und Nässe.
Kabelschaden durch Belastung
zAchten Sie darauf, dass die Kabel nicht geknickt oder beschädigt werden.
Geräteschaden durch unzureichende Belüftung
zBlockieren Sie nicht die Belüftungsöffnungen des Gerätes.
zStellen Sie nicht mehrere Geräte aufeinander und stellen Sie keine anderen
Gegenstände auf das Gerät.
Stromschlaggefahr durch falschen Netzanschluss
zVerwenden Sie das Gerät nur mit einem Spannungsversorgungskabel, das für
das jeweilige Land zugelassen ist und den landesspezifischen Bestimmungen
entspricht.
zDieses Gerät ist ausgelegt für TN-Netze und für IT-Netze in Norwegen mit 230 V
Außenleiterspannung. Schließen Sie das Gerät nicht an andere IT-Netze an.
zStellen Sie dieses Gerät nur aufrecht auf. Das Gerät hat ein SMPS
(Schaltnetzteil) mit offenem Rahmen, das einen Brand oder Stromschlag
auslösen kann, wenn irgendein Gegenstand durch die Ventilationslöcher seitlich
am Gerät eingeführt wird.

zSchließen Sie das Gerät nur an Stromquellen mit der angegebenen Spannung

zTrennen Sie das Netzkabel und andere Anschlüsse vom Stromnetz bevor Sie
Wartungsarbeiten durchführen.

zTrennen Sie das Gerät vor der Reinigung vom Stromnetz.
zVerwenden Sie keine Flüssigreiniger oder Sprays, die Alkohol, Spiritus oder
