1. Introduction
1.1 Intended use
Congratulations on your purchase of the new Flowboard Urban E-Scooter! Invented to transcend transportation and focus
on practical movement, this stylish and compact transporter celebrates personal and intuitive mobility. Riding the Flowboard
Urban is easy and much fun. The Flowboard Urban is portable and therefore enables an individual and uncomplicated way
of transportation. Experience cutting edge technology and highest grade quality material as you glide effortlessly along on
your way to your destination.
This manual will help you set up and use. It is important that you adhere to all safety warnings and cautions that appear
throughout and that you use good judgment when riding.

2. Safety notes
2.1 Warning
Whenever you ride the Flowboard Urban you risk serious injury or death from collisions, falls or loss of control. To ride safely,
YOU MUST READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS IN THIS MANUAL CAREFULLY!
This manual includes basic operational instructions for the Flowboard Urban. It cannot cover all situations where injury or
death may occur.
The seller or the company SoFlow do not hold any accountability for damages, loss of belongings, injuries and legal disputes,
which occurred due to disregard of any of the information in this manual or due to disregard of any traffic laws by the user.
Users of the Flowboard Urban must obey the road rules and have good judgement, to be able to recognize and avoid possible
dangers. The Flowboard Urban may not be used under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication, which reduce or
influence the judgement and/or the reaction time of the user.
Please be aware and take notice, that using the Flowboard Urban is connected to inherent risks.
Please do not charge the battery when unattended and disconnect the battery from the power source when it is fully
charged.

2.2 Risk of injury
Whenever you ride the Flowboard Urban, you risk injury from loss of control, collisions and falls. It is your responsibility to
learn how to safely ride the Flowboard Urban in a safe environment in order to reduce the risks of riding.
This manual is designed to help you learn safe riding techniques.
The Flowboard Urban should not be used, unless this user manual has been read carefully.
We advise you to re-read this user manual after a longer period of not using the Flowboard Urban. This helps you to
remind you of the proper riding techniques and safely procedures.
2.3 Basic safety notices
There are always risks to riding or driving every vehicle. The Flowboard Urban is no exception. Start your first rides in a safe
environment with no traffic. Using the Flowboard Urban demands good judgement, to be able to recognize each particular
situation. Therefore, a high degree of attention and concentration is important. Avoid using the Flowboard Urban, when you
feel tired or have the feeling, to not be at good health.
If you follow all information carefully, you will be able to use your Flowboard Urban in no time.
1. Both tyres must be in contact with the ground at all times. Avoid obstacles and slippery surfaces (such as snow, ice,
oil, sand etc.), which could result in a loss of balance or traction and cause a fall. The Flowboard Urban is intended

for indoors or use on smooth, flat surfaces. To prevent loss of traction, you must always be careful when driving and
you must identify and avoid slippery and wet surfaces, loose materials, slopes, tram tracks, potholes and other
obstacles (especially higher than 1 cm). The wheels must be able to grip the ground for you to stay upright.
2. Abrupt or risky manoeuvres and driving over slippery surfaces, bumps, and loose objects and materials, as well as
performing jumps and stunts and risky behaviour in general, may cause it to lose traction and pose a risk to the
operator and the device and must be avoided therefore. The driving speed must always be adjusted to given
conditions (e.g. light, weather, other traffic participants, etc.). Only perform jumps and stunts, if you really are
capable of doing such tricks. Otherwise you can get hurt or damage the device, which reduces its durability.
3. Always check the battery charge before using the Flowboard Urban. Do not drive when its battery is low. This may
lead the Flowboard Urban to stop operating and cause you to fall. Do not use it as a normal scooter (without the
engine on) for a longer period of time since this could damage the engine.
4. Make sure to wear flat shoes (no high heels) when using the Flowboard Urban. Ask a person to help you if you are
not an experienced user.
5. Do not exceed the maximum weight of 220 pounds (100 kilograms) –including backpacks and other items that
might be carried. Exceeding the weight limit could lead to injury of the driver and/or the Flowboard Urban.
6. Do not lift the device off the ground when it is turned on. Do not turn it on in mid-air. This could cause the wheels to
spin freely, which could result in injury to yourself or damage to things around you. Do not turn the device off while
driving.
7. Do not modify the Flowboard Urban. Modifications could interfere with operating and could result in serious injury
and/or damage. Modifications void your right to Warranty. Some modifications may be illegal according to local
traffic law.

8. When riding the Flowboard Urban, a complete protective equipment is recommended (helmet, knee and elbow pads,
gloves, etc.). Wear bright and easily noticeable clothing to make sure that other traffic participants can see you. Keep
a relaxed posture while driving.
9. Check the brakes before every ride. Never drive with damaged brakes, but contact your official dealer.
10. Be sure to use and store your Flowboard Urban in a dry environment. See also chapter 6 Maintenance, repairs and
warranty.
11. Check your battery level before using your device. Never use your Flowboard Urban when your batteries are on a
low level. If you have to turn off your Flowboard Urban due to low battery, you should not use it like a normal scooter
over longer periods of time, because this could damage your motor.
12. Never operate your Flowboard Urban while under the influence of drugs, alcohol, strong medication or other
substances that can influence your level of attention.
13. Copy the serial number of the device and keep it somewhere safe. It may be useful in case of theft or when the device
must be repaired.
14. When the motor gets overstrained, the motor housing can become very hot. Avoid any contact of your body or
other materials with the hot motor. The hot surface can lead to burnings.
15. Always be aware of the danger of clothes or body parts being drawn into the wheels.
16. Be sure that the hinge axis is always snapped in.

17. It may be possible, that your insurance does not cover the damage of your Flowboard Urban or injuries that come
from an accident while using the device. Contact your insurance for more information on this subject before using
the Flowboard Urban.
2.4 Foreseeable misuse
1. All users of the Flowboard Urban must follow all local traffic laws and regulations. Check whether you can use the
Flowboard Urban on public property before you drive it there. When the use of the Flowboard Urban is not legal on
public property in your area, then you are only allowed to use it on private property.
2. The Flowboard Urban must not be used by small children. Parents shall judge if the children have the required
coordination, ability and judgement to use the Flowboard Urban properly.
3. Pregnant women may not use the Flowboard Urban.

3.2 Intrusion protection IP54
The Flowboard Urban is splash proof according to IP54, but not water proof. Therefore you may use your Flowboard Urban
during light rain or drive through puddles. But you may not use your Flowboard Urban in heavy rain or plunge it into water,
otherwise the electronics may get damaged. Further information about the scope of protection of IP54 can be found in the
internet.

4. Operating instruction
4.1 Safety notes for the battery
Your Flowboard Urban is equipped with a high grade lithium ionic battery. Please read the following notices about
recharging your Flowboard Urban:
Only use the original Flowboard Urban lithium battery, which is provided with your Flowboard.
Always keep your battery away from coldness, big heat, moisture or fire.
Never use the battery, if it is damaged or has strong signs of wear.
Only recharge your battery attended and in well ventilated areas.
Recharging should be done in a dry and clean environment.
If you should encounter anything unexpected during the charging process, stop it immediately and get in touch
with the vendor of the device.

4.2 Recharging the battery
Make sure that the device is turned off before charging. Plug the charger into the charging socket in the front of the deck
and connect the charger with a socket via the charging cable. The charging process is running when the light on the charger
appears red. The charging process is completed when the light on the charger turns green. Remove the charging cable from
the socket and then remove the charger from the charging socket.
Protect the charging socket from water and moisture by putting the rubber cap on it while the device is not recharged.
If you do not use your Flowboard Urban regularly, we recommend to recharge the battery monthly in order to ensure its
longevity. Before a long pause in usage we also recommend to charge the device.
Do not charge the Flowboard Urban without supervision and remove the charger when the charging process is
completed.

4.3 Flip open and fold up your Flowboard Urban
This is how you flip open your Flowboard Urban:
Put your Flowboard Urban on the floor horizontally.
Open the fixing lever.
Push the front bar in a upright position. If you hear a clicking noise, the front bar is completely snapped in.
Fold up the hinged handles and fix them with the red side rings.

Open the red quick-release lever and put the steering bar in the desired position. Make
sure the bolt is again correctly snapped in.
Make sure, the red safety bracket secures the folding mechanism.
B before driving, always check if your brakes are working and make sure that the front bar is snapped in correctly.

This is how you fold up your Flowboard Urban:
Turn off your device before folding it up and put it on the floor.
Push the steering bar forward, while pushing the red pedal downwards. This loosens the folding
mechanism.
Retract the steering bar.
Fold the bar back/down, until it touches the rear wheel.

4.4 Further notices
Avoid leaving the charger plugged in, when the device is already fully charged. This could lead to a reduction of the capacity
of the battery.
Always check all screws of the device before driving, especially those of the wheels and the axes. Tighten all screws to
guarantee the safety of your Flowboard Urban. Always check the brakes before using your device.
