Quest Preparation
Sample Loading
To avoid damage to your quest and spectrometer samples should be loaded away from the spectrometer.

Install Quest into
your IR
spectrometer
(Consult Quest
manual for further
details). If present
remove existing
puck.
Fit Arrow Puck to
Quest.

Pipette liquid into
sample well. Silicon
MUST be completely
covered.
(Optional) sample cap
can be fitted to
suppress spillage and
reduce evaporation.

Pipette solution/dispersion into
sample well. Crystal MUST be
completely covered.

Dissolve/disperse
solid sample in
solvent.
Allow solvent to
evaporate fully.

Record a background
spectrum.
Remove bank slide.

Insert blank slide into Quest
puck.

by Specac Limited from time to time in relation to installation, operation, storage or maintenance. All warranties other than those expressly given by Specac
Limited in its conditions of sale, or which are implied and may not be excluded by virtue of an applicable statute or regulation shall be excluded to the fullest

Record a sample
spectrum.
Remove sample slide.

Insert sample slide into
Quest puck.

Do NOT apply a load to
the slide.
Do NOT overfill the sample well.
For easy insertion into the puck grasp slide
by edges rather than top/bottom.
No cleaning required.
Do batch prepare samples.
