1 About this product
1 About this product
The Migration SE office furniture product line by Steelcase is
subject to continuous quality control during manufacture and
distribution. This ensures fault-free functionality.
The products are designed and manufactured according to the
state of the art (in Germany at the time of construction) and
recognised safety-relevant rules; however, hazards may still
arise. Please follow the respective safety instructions! Mal-
functions that could impair safety must be eliminated
immediately. We reserve the right to make technical changes
to the products for technical reasons.
Steelcase applies a quality management system that meets
the requirements of DIN EN ISO 9001.
The Migration SE system with Up/Down and Memory
control panel is GS-qualified and has the CE marking.
The electric height adjustment unit type plate is
located on the controller housing, on the columns,
and under the desktop near the control panel.
1.1 Intended use
The Migration SE product is exclusively designed to be used
as office furniture. Any other use, or use beyond the specified
intended use is considered to be improper.
Intended use also includes following all instructions
in the user guide.

1 About this product
1.1.1 Foreseeable misuse
Improper use of the product can result in dangers to life and
limb as well as property damage. For this reason, improper use
is prohibited. In the event of improper use, Steelcase assumes
no liability for any damage that could occur and does not
guarantee that the components will function properly.
Possible improper use includes:
■Lifting loads.
■Use as a climbing aid.
■Use for permanent storage of objects with a total
weight exceeding 75 kg (for Meeting Table 4-Leg: 50
kg).
■Outdoor use.
■Use in damp rooms.
This list does not claim to be exhaustive.
1.1.2 Users with limitations
WARNING
Risk of injury or damage to the desk!
}This desk can be used by children 8 years of age and
older, as well as by persons with reduced physical,
sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience
and knowledge, if they are supervised, or have been
instructed in the safe use of the desk, and
understand the dangers associated with using the
desk.
}Children are not allowed to play with the device.
}Children may not carry out cleaning and
maintenance.

2.1 Safety instructions
The Migration SE product should only be used and operated
in faultless condition and in compliance with the instructions in
the user manual.
The user of the Migration SE undertakes to follow the safety
instructions and warnings in this user guide.
In addition to the user guide, the general and local regulations
on accident prevention and environmental protection must be
made available and complied with.
2.2 Safety information and warnings
To prevent personal injury and damage to property, this user
manual contains warnings at the appropriate locations. The
symbols and signal words have the following meaning:

Type plates are located on the power lift housing, on the
columns, and under the desktop near the control panel.
Type plate: symbols – explanation
Double insulation. Double insulated cables
minimise the risk of electrical shock.
For indoor use. Indicates that placing the
product outdoors is not allowed.
Read operator's manual. To indicate that
the operator's manual or card should be read
before continuing the operation.
Rated duty cycle. Maximum activation
time (time on) followed by a minimum deac-
tivation time (time off) necessary for the safe
operation of the furniture.
CE marking. Used to symbolise the
conformity of the product with the applicable
requirements that the European Community
places on the manufacturer.

UKCA marking. Used to symbolise the
conformity of the product with the applicable
requirements that the United Kindom places
on the manufacturer.
Recycling symbol. Used to indicate
conformity with the regulations for Waste
Electric and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
and the Electrical and Electronic Equipment
Act (ElektroG). Electrical and electronic
products must be disposed of separately
from household waste at the end of their
service life.
The CE and UKCA marking is located on the
underside of the desktop and can be viewed at
any time.
3.2 Components
The Migration SE essentially consists of the following
components (the variant descriptions can be found in the
respective chapters):
■Desktop with plastic parts for desktop mounting,
sliding top (optional)
■Software and hardware-supported stopping device
with a sensor for system protection
■Migration SE Desk: Columns with bolted 65x25x2
mm steel pipe runner, including adjusting screw to
compensate for floor unevenness, horizontal (not
with sliding top): cable network or cable duct,

■Migration SE Bench: Columns without runners,
including adjusting screw to compensate for floor
unevenness, cross-member (welded), central cable

3.3 Factory setting on delivery

You can change these settings according to your
needs. The corresponding descriptions can be found
under Chapter 5 Operating and adjusting on page31.
3.4 Accessories
A wide range of accessories is available in various materials,
surfaces and dimensions. Please note the information on using
the components and accessories (see Operating and adjusting
on page31).
