How Does This Product Work?
This Solar Trickle Charger features a solar panel that connects to your vehicle’s 12V battery either
via the vehicle’s 12V plug socket or via the 12V battery’s terminals.
When this solar panel is connected to your 12V vehicle, the solar panel will absorb light from the
sun which is converted into a 6W 12V DC electricity supply that charges your 12V battery.
The solar panel features an innovative THIN FILM technology that allows the solar panel to absorb
UV light from a wide spectrum of natural light. This means, the solar panel can even absorb light
and charge your 12V battery in cloudy wintery conditions. The THIN FILM technology also allows
the solar panel to perform under intense heat from the summer sun.
Operating Instructions
Warning: Never use the solar trickle when the vehicle is running or when you are driving.
IMPORTANT: When using this solar trickle, please ENSURE the solar panel is positioned correctly
so that it is able to absorb as much natural light as possible. This solar panel will not be effective
in absorbing light when placed in dark, shaded areas.
1. Before installing or using this solar trickle charger, please ensure your vehicle is fully switched
off.
2. Position the solar panel in a suitable location that does not obstruct the drivers view. The
panel can be tilted to a suitable angle to enable the panel to get the most direct sunlight.
3. Connect the panel to your 12V battery, either via the 12V plug socket connection or via the
12V battery terminal connection cables. When using the 12V battery terminal connection
cables, please ensure you connect the crocodile to the correct battery terminal. The black
lead will connect to the negative (-) terminal and the red lead will connect to the positive (+)
terminal.
4. If you want to permanently install the panel, please use the four stainless steel mounting
screws included.
IMPORTANT: To increase heat dissipation from the solar, please use a heat resistant spacer (not
included) which should be placed in between the panel and the mounting surface. Please note,
we do not supply the heat resistant spacer.
Maintenance
Ensure the glass surface of this solar panel is kept clean at all times, as any dirt,dust or debris
could affect the panels effectiveness. Please use a soft cloth to clean the panel when required.
Health & Safety Guidelines
1. Before connecting the solar trickle charger, please ensure your vehicle is fully switched off.
2. When disconnecting the solar trickle charger, ensure your vehicle is fully switched off.
3. Never use the solar trickle charger when the vehicle is running or when you are driving.
4. Do not use the solar trickle charger outdoors in the rain or in wet weather. This solar trickle
battery charger is NOT weatherproof.
5. The solar panel has glass substrates. Please handle it with care.
6. Never strike the solar panel.
