Thisbackpack-blowercombinationisintendedtobe
usedbyhomeownersandprofessionaloperators.The

theoperator.

instructions,andphysicallycapabletooperate
orservicethedevice.
4.Beforeusingthebackpack,attachedtool,
batterypack,andbatterycharger,readallthe
instructionsandcautionarymarkingsonthese
products.
5.Becomefamiliarwiththecontrolsandproper
useofthebackpack,attachedtool,batterypack,
andbatterycharger.
II.Preparation
1.Keepbystandersandchildrenawayfromthe
operatingarea.
2.UseonlythebatterypackspeciedbyToro.
Usingotheraccessoriesandattachmentsmay
increasetheriskofinjuryandre.
3.Pluggingthebatterychargerintoanoutletthatis
not120Vcancauseareorelectricshock.Do
notplugthebatterychargerintoanoutletother
than120V.Foradifferentstyleofconnection,
useanattachmentplugadapteroftheproper
congurationforthepoweroutletifneeded.
4.Donotuseadamagedormodiedbackpack,
batterypack,orbatterycharger,whichmay
exhibitunpredictablebehaviorthatresultsinre,
explosion,orriskofinjury.
5.Ifthesupplycordtothebatterychargeris
damaged,contactanAuthorizedServiceDealer
toreplaceit.

III.Operation
1.Avoiddangerousenvironments—Donotusethe
toolinrainorindamporwetlocations.
2.Usethepropertoolforyourapplication—Using
thebackpackorattachedtoolforpurposesother
antheirintendedusecouldprovedangerousto
youandbystanders.
3.Preventunintentionalstarting—Ensurethatthe
switchisintheOFFpositionbeforeconnectingto
thebackpackandhandlingthetool.Donotcarry
thetoolwithyourngerontheswitchorenergize
thetoolwiththeswitchintheONposition.
4.Operatethebackpackandattachedtoolonlyin
daylightorgoodarticiallight.
5.Removethebatterypackfromthebackpack
anddisconnectthetoolbeforeadjustingitor
changingaccessories.
6.Keepyourhandsandfeetawayfromtheblower
openingandallmovingparts.
7.Shutoffthetool,removethebatterypackfrom
thebackpack,andwaitforallmovementtostop
beforeadjusting,servicing,cleaning,orstoring
thetoolorbackpack.
8.Removeanybatterypack(s)fromthebackpack
wheneveryouleaveitunattended.
9.Donotforcethepowertool.Usethecorrect
powertoolforyourapplication.Thecorrect
powertoolwilldothejobbetterandsaferatthe
rateforwhichitwasdesigned.
10.Donotoverreach—Keepproperfootingand
balanceatalltimes,especiallyonslopes.Walk,
neverrunwiththebackpack.
11.Stayalert—Watchwhatyouaredoinganduse
commonsensewhenoperatingthebackpack.
Donotusethebackpackwhileill,tired,orunder
theinuenceofalcoholordrugs.
12.Ensurethattheventilationopeningsarekept
clearofdebris.
13.Donotinsertanyobjectintothebloweropening
orusethetoolwithablockedopening.Keep

15.Underabusiveconditions,thebatterypackmay
ejectliquid;avoidcontact.Ifyouaccidently
comeintocontactwiththeliquid,ushwith

16.Donotexposeabatterypackortooltoreor
excessivetemperature.Exposuretoreor
temperatureabove130°C(265°F)maycause
explosion.

changingaccessories.Keephandlesdry,clean,
andfreefromoilandgrease.
2.Whenthebatterypackisnotinuse,keepit
awayfrommetalobjectssuchaspaperclips,
coins,keys,nails,andscrewsthatcanmakea
connectionfrom1terminaltoanother.Shorting
thebatteryterminalsmaycauseburnsorare.
3.Keepyourhandsandfeetawayfrommoving
parts.
4.Shutoffthetool,removethebatterypackfrom
thebackpack,andwaitforallmovementtostop

Whydon’tallsimilarproductscarrythewarning?
•ProductssoldinCaliforniarequireProp65labellingwhilesimilarproductssoldelsewheredonot.
•AcompanyinvolvedinaProp65lawsuitreachingasettlementmayberequiredtouseProp65warningsforitsproducts,butothercompanies
makingsimilarproductsmayhavenosuchrequirement.
•TheenforcementofProp65isinconsistent.
•CompaniesmayelectnottoprovidewarningsbecausetheyconcludethattheyarenotrequiredtodosounderProp65;alackofwarningsfora
productdoesnotmeanthattheproductisfreeoflistedchemicalsatsimilarlevels.
Whydoesthemanufacturerincludethiswarning?
themanufacturerhaschosentoprovideconsumerswithasmuchinformationaspossiblesothattheycanmakeinformeddecisionsabouttheproducts
theybuyanduse.themanufacturerprovideswarningsincertaincasesbasedonitsknowledgeofthepresenceofoneormorelistedchemicalswithout
evaluatingthelevelofexposure,asnotallthelistedchemicalsprovideexposurelimitrequirements.Whiletheexposurefromthemanufacturerproducts
maybenegligibleorwellwithinthe“nosignicantrisk”range,outofanabundanceofcaution,themanufacturerhaselectedtoprovidetheProp65
warnings.Moreover,ifthemanufacturerdoesnotprovidethesewarnings,itcouldbesuedbytheStateofCaliforniaorbyprivatepartiesseekingto
enforceProp65andsubjecttosubstantialpenalties.
