ENTERING YOUR SECURITY CODE
To enter your own security code, you will need to follow
the steps listed below:
1. After opening the electronic safe (with the preset
factory code of 1-5-9-#), locate the small red button
on the inside of the door (near the hinge).
2. Press the red button and release it; you will hear a
beep. The yellow light on the faceplate will activate
and stay on for a period of time that should allow
you to enter your code. You can only enter your
code while the yellow light is on.
3. With the door open and the yellow light on, enter
your own personal security code, which can be 3-8
digits long, and confirm your new code by pressing
the " " symbol on the electronic touch pad. Before
you close the door, try the new security code to
make sure the lock releases the handle so you can
turn it and retract the live-action bolts.
NOTE: DO NOT SHUT THE DOOR UNTIL YOU HAVE
CONFIRMED THAT YOUR NEW SECURITY CODE
HAS BEEN ENTERED CORRECTLY.
4. If the code fails, go through steps 1-3 again. If the
code works successfully, record your combination in
a secure place, away from children, not inside the
safe. Then, you should close and lock the safe.
5. When you open the safe in the future, enter the
security code you have set followed by the " # "
symbol.
6. If the incorrect security code is entered 3 times,
you will have an automatic lockout for 20 seconds
before you can try your code again.
7. If the incorrect security code is entered 3 additional
times, there will be a 5-minute lockout before the
code can be tried again.
LOCKING THE SAFE
To lock the safe, close the door and rotate the handle
counterclockwise until it stops. If the handle is not turned
until it stops, the locking mechanism will not lock.
NOTE: Because the locking mechanism is
deactivated for approximately 3 to 6 seconds
after the combination is entered, wait a
minimum of 6 seconds from the time the
combination is entered to lock the safe.
TURNING THE KEYPAD SOUND OFF/ON
You can turn off the "Beep" sound of the keypad by
entering the code 6 3 3.
To turn the "Beep" sound on, enter the code 6 6.
SELECTING A LOCATION
1. The safe must be mounted to the floor. For optimal safety
and security, the safe should be installed adjacent to a
side wall with minimal space on either side of the safe
and in an isolated, dry and secure area.
2. The safe should be flat against the wall and floor.
Remove the baseboard if necessary.
CAUTION! Children should not play with or
around the safe at any time.
SECURING THE SAFE
NOTE: The safe must be secured to the
floor. Use the hardware provided or consult
Uline Customer Service at 1-800-295-5510
for fastening hardware for your particular
mounting surfaces.
NOTE: This safe must be mounted to the floor.
Failure to do so will compromise the safety and
security of the safe.
3. To secure your safe to the floor, it will first be necessary
to drill pilot holes through the fire insulation in the floor
of the safe. First, place the safe in the desired location.
Lift the bottom carpeting up to find the two hole
locations marked on the floor insulation. Drill holes
through the insulation using the same diameter drill as
the diameter of the mounting hardware you are using.
IMPORTANT! The fasteners you use must
completely fill the hole you drilled into the
insulation. (See Figure 2) You must use the
fasteners after you drill the holes. Failure to do
so will void the fire rating.
4. Use these holes to fasten the safe to the floor. Drill
the appropriate diameter and depth of pilot holes
into the floor depending on the type of hardware
being used and the type of floor surface.
(See Figure 3)
5. Secure the safe with fasteners and replace
carpeting.
