Thank you for purchasing the Van der Stahl Scientific hot stamp printer FEP-N2, FEP-OS-N2,
and FEP-V-N2. Please read through this operating instructions carefully to properly install and
use this equipment.
Keep this manual on hand when operating this printer.
FEP-N2, FEP-OS-N2, and FEP-V-N2 uses a hot foil transfer method. The type and type case are
heated and then pressed onto print tape.
FEP-N2 series is installed on Van der Stahl Scientific sealers such as OPL, FA, Fi and V-402 /
VG-602/402 series. As the sealer head operates up and down, the print tape (dry ink) transfers the
letters onto the pouch film.
Please refer to “3 Proper printer for your sealer” about the proper printer for your sealer. (FEP-V-
N2 is an option which is initially installed on V-402 / VG series and not sold separately.)
As a result of research to further improve the FEP-N2 series, some details in the operating
instructions may differ from your actual machine. For operating problems or product
information, please contact Van der Stahl Scientific.

The hot stamp printer FEP-N2, FEP-OS-N2, and FEP-V-N2 can only be used by mounting to Van der Stahl
Scientific sealers listed in the below table. Please make sure that the printer can be installed to your sealer.

FEP-V-N2 is a manufacture option and it can be mounted only when purchasing a sealer. Please note
that installation of FEP-V-N2 after the delivery of the main unit requires installation adjustment work by
manufacturer or by the reseller.
If your sealer is an older model and not listed on the chart above, the printer might not be able to be
mounted on your sealer. Please contact Van der Stahl Scientific for more details.

Routine maintenance parts, which will need to be replaced after extensive use, are sold individually as detailed
below.
Warning-caution labels are placed in locations where there is a danger of injury to a person or damage to the

cover unless necessary.
If Warning - Caution labels peel off or are lost, please purchase the proper
labels and place them in the appropriate location.

Depending on the application and types of films, special print tape may be required.
Please contact Van der Stahl Scientific for further discussion on your printing needs.
Store in the room temperature and normal humidity avoiding direct sunlight. (The condition of 5 ~ 35 ºC
and 40 ~ 85%RH is preferable.)
Do not subject the print tape to unnecessary shock or impact. It may negatively affect the printing result.
If the print tape is not designated by Van der Stahl Scientific is used, there may be anegative impact on
the printer quality and/or the printing result.
Perform the printing test prior to the actual production. The printing is different depending on the film
material and/or the surface treatment, etc.
There are three types of print tapes available for your printing needs.
Please refer to the below chart and decide which one would be good for your application.
We recommend to perform print test prior to the actual production just to make sure the printing performance for
each type of print tape.
※How to distinguish the three types of print tape
You can distinguish the types of print tape by the printing color
inside the paper core.
