PURPOSE OF THIS MANUAL 1
–The purpose of the manual, which is an integral part of the machine,
is to raise awareness among users to pay attention during the man-
machine interaction.
–The manual has been created by the manufacturer to transfer infor-
mation and instructions to minimise risks.
–Information is addressed to the driver of the tractor the machine is
fixed to and operators authorised to conduct routine maintenance.
–The manual has been written in the original language of the manufac-
turer (ITALIAN).
–Versions in other languages can be created to meet legislative and/or
commercial needs.
–Versions of manuals in other languages are created by translat-
ing the content directly from the ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS with
no modification.
–All versions of the manual in other languages must contain the word-
ing "TRANSLATIONS OF THE ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS".
Translations made by the client or by the party selling the machine in
the linguistic area involved must contain the wording "TRANSLA-
TIONS OF THE ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS".
–Keep the manual for consultation in a known and easily accessi-
ble place for the entire duration of the appliance.
We recommend KEEPING THE MANUAL IN THE DRIVER'S
SEAT of the tractor the machine is associated with.
–To easily find out the specific topics of interest, read the table of
contents and the index.
–Some information may not fully correspond to the actual configuration
of the machine supplied.
Additional information, added if necessary, do not influence readabil-
ity and do not compromise safety levels.
–The manufacturer reserves the right to modify any of information with-
out the obligation to notify it in advance unless they affect the safety
of the user.
–To highlight portions of text or important specifications the manual
uses the symbols illustrated and described below.

The list features a series of terms with the brief explanation to make them
easier to understand while reading the manual.
–Driver: person with the requirements and competences to drive the
tractor and use the associated equipment.
The driver must be capable of conducting the activity autonomously
and in a convenient and correct manner without any risks.
–Experienced maintenance personnel: personnel authorised to
conduct maintenance on the machine (routine and extraordinary) with
acknowledged technical competences and professional skills to oper-
ate correctly and without any risks.

–Routine maintenance: set of operations that are necessary to keep
the functionality, the efficiency and the safety requirements of the ma-
chine. The manufacturer establishes the intervals between the inter-
ventions and, if necessary, also establishes the performance modes
for those operations that imply particular procedures.
–Authorised workshop: chosen and officially authorised by the man-
ufacturer to conduct routine and extra ordinary maintenance.
–Carrier: personnel authorised to conduct maintenance on the ma-
chine (routine and extraordinary) with acknowledged technical com-
petences and professional skills to operate correctly and without any
risks.
–Hazardous area: any area inside and/or near the machine where the
presence of persons may represent a risk for their health and safety.

REASONABLY FORESEEABLE INCORRECT USES 6
–DO NOT ever let users who have not been adequately trained, in-
formed and authorised use the machine.
–DO NOT ever let users who are not capable of reading and under-
standing the user manual and who are not capable of recognising
safety signs use the machine.
–DO NOT use or let anyone use the machine for purposes and in ways
not designed for by the manufacturer.
–DO NOT use the machine with wrapping materials and with bales with
a shape and wrapped product other than the ones designed by the
manufacturer.
–Do not use the machine as a means to transport people or things.
–Do not tamper with, ignore, eliminate or bypass the safety devices in-
stalled on the machine.
–DO NOT use or let anyone use the machine with safety devices that
are faulty, deactivated and/or not well installed.
–DO NOT attach the machine to tractors with inadequate class and
features. The connection point of the chapter should be a fixed one.
–Do not circulate in public roads with machines that are not type-ap-
proved and not correctly prearranged to assure its own safety, as well
as the safety of the other users of the street.
–DO NOT use the machine if the hydraulic controls are not positioned
in the driver's seat of the tractor correctly and with an ergonomic de-
sign.
–DO NOT keep on using the machine if any anomalies are detected.
Stop it immediately and re-start it only after restoring the normal con-
ditions of use.
–DO NOT ever conduct any work on the machine when it is operating,
but ONLY after stopping the tractor safely.
–Do not perform checks and adjustments when the machine is
moving and with an operator being transported. This situation
was not provided for when designing and manufacturing the ma-
chine.
–DO NOT ever use the machine without wearing Individual Protective
Devices indicated by the manufacturer and required by current regu-
lations on the workplace.
–DO NOT ever use the machine if the scheduled maintenance work
has not been conducted regularly.
–DO NOT clean all washed and machine with harsh products and us-
ing a cleaning device with an exceedingly high pressure to prevent
any damage to the components.
–DO NOT replace the components with non-original spare parts or
spare parts with different design and manufacturing features.
–Do not throw away any polluting material in the environment. Carry
out their disposal in compliance with the relevant legislation in force.
–Do not leave the machine unattended when the tractor is running.

–DO NOT leave the machine in a place where it may represent an ob-
struction or hazard for outsiders. Park it in a flat area on the stable
surface.
–In case of improper use of the machine, the operator assumes
the responsibilities (moral, civil and criminal) for the damages
caused to people or things.
RESIDUAL RISKS 7
Even though the manufacturer complies with the laws in force and
adopts the "code of practice", the listed residual risks still remain.
–DO NOT drive the tractor "recklessly". Always adjust the speed to the
conditions of the terrain.
Risks associated with "reckless" driving me cause accidents
and a lower braking action with the possibility of running over
persons.
–DO NOT work near ditches, cliffs, soft ground, steep slopes, etc. to
avoid the risk of instability and/or tilting of the machine.
The risk of tilting the machine may cause serious injuries to the
driver of the tractor and economic damage.
–DO NOT work with an insufficient field of view or in the presence of
people within the machine's range of action or objects nearby.
Risks associated with an insufficient field of view may lead to ac-
cidents involving people or a collision of the machine with eco-
nomic damage.
–DO NOT connect or and disconnect the machine to the tractor without
preparing the necessary safety conditions to prevent any crushing
risk beforehand.
There may be a risk of crushing if the operator stops in the area
when the machine is connected and disconnected from the trac-
tor.
OBLIGATIONS OF THE EMPLOYER 8
–The employer must train the users and provide the user manual, so
that they read and understand all of its contents, especially safety in-
formation.
–Users authorised to use the machine must be trained to acquire com-
petencies requested in the professional agricultural sector or in an
equivalent one.
–The employer must inform users on reasonably foreseeable INCOR-
RECT USES and on RESIDUAL RISKS that remain.
Reasonably foreseeable incorrect use means "using the machine in
a way other than the one indicated in the user manual, which
may result from easily foreseeable human behaviour".
Residual risks mean "all remaining risks despite all safety solu-
tions have been adopted and integrated at the design stage".
–The employer must the users have adequate skills and competencies
and that there are suitable conditions to carry out the activity in safely.

–The employer should compile the information transferred to the users
adequately, so that these can be presented in the event of litigation.
GENERAL SAFETY RULES 9
–When designing and manufacturing the machine, the Manufacturer
paid special attention to the aspects that may endanger the safety
and health of the people working with the machine.
Besides the compliance with the laws in force, the Manufacturer ap-
plies all "code of practice rules".
–Carefully read the instructions that are specified in the supplied
manual and the ones that have been directly stuck on the ma-
chine; make sure that you understand them well, especially safe-
ty instructions.
–Dedicate a bit of time to read the instructions to prevent unpleasant
accidents. When an accident occurs, it is too late to remember that
you had to behave differently.
–Pay attention to the information signs that are directly stuck to the ma-
chine.
Information signs can have different colours and shapes to warn
about dangers, obligations, prohibitions and instructions.
–Information signs must be kept readable and the instructions speci-
fied in them must be complied with.
–The machine has been designed and manufactured in order to meet
all operating conditions indicated by the Manufacturer. Tampering
with any device in order to obtain a different performance from its orig-
inal one may compromise people’s health and safety and lead to eco-
nomic losses.
SAFETY RULES ABOUT LOADING AND TRANSPORT OPERATIONS 10
–Personnel authorised to handle the machine (loading and unloading)
must have acknowledged technical competences and professional
skills.
The lack of the indicated requirements may cause risks to the
health and safety of persons.
–Conduct handling (loading and unloading) according to the informa-
tion reported directly on the machine, on the packaging and in the
user manual.
–Lift and transport the machine by using suitable means having an ad-
equate capacity.
–Before transferring the machine onto a means of transport, make sure
that the machine and its components are suitably fastened, and that
their loading gauge does not exceed the maximum overall dimen-
sions being provided for. If necessary, prearrange suitable signs.
–Before disconnecting the machine from the tractor, position the sup-
port in a suitable way to make the following connection easier.

–The operator of the machine (driver) must have competences and
skills that are suitable to the type of work to be performed, and his/her
conditions must be appropriate to perform the activity in a safe way.
–The operator must be suitably trained and documented about the use
of the machine, and the first time the machine is used, (s)he must sim-
ulate some test manoeuvres to identify main controls and functions.
–During normal working conditions, the machine must be driven by a
single operator (driver) in the tractor’s driver seat. The operator is in
charge of driving the machine and to operate the different controls to
activate its functions.
–During normal working con-
ditions, it is absolutely for-
bidden to transport people on
the machine or make them
get in to check its operation.
–The machine must be used only
for the purposes provided for by
the Manufacturer. An improper
use of the machine can endan-
ger people’s safety and lead to
economic losses.
–Prevent unauthorised persons,
especially children, old people
and domestic animals from ap-
proaching the operating area
when the machine is used. If it is necessary, immediately stop the ma-
chine and make people leave hazardous areas.
–Attach the machine ONLY to tractors of a suitable class and with the
requirements of appropriate power supply systems.
–Connect the machine to the lifting unit of the tractor for it not to unhook
accidentally during normal operation.
–Make sure all the protective devices have been installed correctly and
operating correctly.
–Make sure the power supplies connections (hydraulic and electric)
are carried out adequately.
–Make sure the signalling devices are efficient and visible.

machine, so that they are not disseminated along the way and in or-
der to prevent risks of accidents for the other uses.
–Road transfers (even for short journeys) must be conducted ONLY
with the machine adequately attached to the tractor and prepared ac-
cording to the designated configuration.
–The machine may be driven on roads ONLY if it is compliant with the
highway code in force in the country of use.
–The driver, as well as having
the requirements requested

SAFETY RULES ABOUT MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENTS 13
–Keep the machine in maximum efficiency conditions and carry out the
scheduled maintenance recommended by the Manufacturer. Good
maintenance ensures the best performance, a longer work life and
the constant maintenance of the safety requirements.
–Before performing any maintenance and adjustment intervention, ac-
tivate all safety devices of the machine.
–Personnel authorised to carry out routine maintenance on the ma-
chine (adjustments, replacements, etc.) must have acknowledged
technical competences and professional skills.
Only authorised personnel will have to perform extraordinary
maintenance operations; the personnel will have to prearrange
all necessary safety conditions and comply with the specified
procedures.
–Conduct work on the ma-
chine positioned on a flat sur-
face with the engine off and
the ignition key disconnect-

–Before performing any mainte-

SAFETY RULES FOR THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT 14
–The Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment may contain dan-
gerous substances with potentially harmful effects on the environ-
ment and on people. It is recommended to correctly dispose them.
–During dismantling, separate the electrical and electronic compo-
nents and dispose of them in the appropriate authorised collection
centres or give them back when a new purchase is made.
All the components, which must be separated and disposed of in a
specific manner, are marked with a special mark.
–The unauthorized disposal of Waste of Electrical and Electronic
Equipment (WEEE) is subject to fine according to sanctions regulated
by the laws in force in the territory where the infraction has been ver-
ified.
