You have two options for network and power connections. Your system administrator will advise you on which one to use.
Notes:
The headsets should be purchased separately
PoE is applicable to the SIP-T21P E2 IP Phones.If inline power (PoE) is provided, you do not need to connect the power adapter. Make sure the hub/switch is
PoE-compliant.
Start-up(
After the IP phone is connected to the network and supplied with power, it automatically begins the initialization process. After start-up, the phone is ready to use.
You can configure the phone via phone user interface or web user interface.

Placing a call
üUsing the handset
oPick up the handset
oEnter the number, and press the Send soft key
üUsing the speakerphone.
oWith the handset on-hook, press the button
oEnter the number, and then press the Send soft key
üUsing the headset
oWith the headset connected, press Headset button to activate the headset mode.
oEnter the number, and then press the Send soft key.
Notes: During a call, you can alternate/toggle between the headset, hands-free speakerphone and handset modes by pressing the Headset key, the
Speakerphone key or by picking up the handset. Headset mode requires a headset connected.

Call Mute and Un-mute
üPress X button to mute the microphone during a call
üPress X button again to un-mute the call
Call Hold and Resume
üTo place a call on hold
üPress the Hold soft key during an active call
To resume the call, do one of the following:
üIf there is only one call on hold, press the Resume soft key
üIf there is more then one call on hold, press arrow or arrow to select the desired call, and then press the Resume soft Key.

Call Transfer
Cal transfer can be done in the following ways:
üBlind Transfer
oPress the Trans button or the Trans soft key during a call. The call is placed on hold.
oEnter the number you want to transfer to.
oPress the Trans button or the Trans soft key.
üSemi-Attended Transfer
oPress the Trans button or the Transsoft key during a call. The call is placed on hold.
oEnter the number you want to transfer to and then press the #/ send key.
oPress the Transbutton or the Transsoft key when you hear the ring-back tone.
üAttended Transfer
oPress the Trans button or the Trans soft key during a call. The call is placed on hold.
oEnter the number you want to transfer to, and press the hash or send key.
oPress the Trans button or the Trans soft key when the second party answers.
Call Conference
üPress the Conf soft key during an active call. The call is placed on hold.
üEnter the number of the second party, and then press the Send soft key.
üPress the Conf soft key again when the second party answers. All parties are now joined in the conference.
üPress the Cancel soft key to disconnect all parties.
To enable call forward:
üPress the Menu soft key when the phone is idle, and then select Features > Call Forward.
üSelect the desired forward type:
oAlways Forward = Incoming calls are forwarded unconditionally.
oBusy Forward = Incoming calls are forwarded if the phone is busy.
oNo Answer Forward = Incoming calls are forwarded if not answered after a period of time.
üEnter the number you want to forward to. For No Answer Forward, press arrow or arrow to select the
üring time to wait before forwarding.
üPress the Save soft key to accept the change.
Speed dial
üPress the Menu soft key when the phone is idle, and then select Features > DSS Keys.
üSelect the desired line key, and press the Enter soft key.
üSelect Speed Dial from the Type field, select the desired line from the Account ID field, and enter the number in the Value field.
üPress the Save soft key to accept the change.
To use the speed dial key:
üPress the speed dial key to dial out the present number.
Voicemail
üMessage waiting indicator on the idle screen indicates that one or more voice messages are waiting at the message centre.
üThe MESSAGE key LED lights up.
To listen to voice messages:
üPress the Message key or the Conn soft key.
üFollow the voice prompts to listen to your voice messages.
Customizing(Your(Phone(
Call History
üPress the History soft key when the phone is idle, press or to scroll through the list.
üSelect an entry from the list, you can do the following:
If you press the Option soft key, you can also do the following:
üSelect Detail to view detailed information about the entry.
üSelect Add to Contact to add the entry to the local directory.
üSelect Add to Blacklist to add the entry to the blacklist.
üSelect Del All to delete all entries from the list.

üTo add a contact:
oPress the Dir soft key when the phone is idle, and then select the desired group.
oPress the Add soft key to add a contact.
oEnter a unique contact name in the Name field and contact numbers in the corresponding fields>
oPress the Add soft key to accept the change.
üTo edit a contact:
oPress the Dir soft key when the phone is idle, and then select the desired group.
oPress the arrow keys to select the desired contact, press the Option soft key and then select Detail from the prompt list.
oEdit the contact information.
oPress the Save soft key to accept the change.
üTo delete a contact:
oPress the Dir soft key when the phone is idle, and then select the desired group.
oPress the arrow keys to select the desired contact, press the Option soft key and then select the Delete from the prompt
list.
oPress the Ok soft key when the LCD screen prompts “Delete selection item?”.
Note: You can add contact from the call history easily – refer to Call History above.
Volume Adjustment
üPress the +/-buttons during a call to adjust the receiver volume of the handset/speakerphone/headset.
üPress when the phone is idle to adjust the ringer volume.
Ring Tones
üPress the Menu soft key when the phone is idle, and then select Settings >Basic Settings >Ring Tones.
üPress the arrow keys to select the desired ring tone.
üPress the Save soft key to accept the change.
Default Keys
Some feature codes are defined within the system for you. These are:
ü*1: Voicemail direct access.
ü*2: Voicemail login.
ü*3: Conference login.
ü*4: Auto-attendant.
ü*5: Number routing menu.
ü**: Group pickup.
ü***<telephone line>: Pickup specific telephone line.
Note: These options are not shown on the feature codes configuration page. If you create feature codes with these numbers, your feature codes override the
defaults.
