Intended Use
Stretcherslingisspecicallydesignedtotransfer
a patient/resident in a supine position. This
product is intended for assisted lateral transfer
of patients/residents with limited ability to move.
The Stretcher sling should be used together
with Arjo lift devices and Arjo stretcher frames
in accordance with the Allowed Combinations
speciedintheInstructionforUse(IFU).
Product MAA1152 made of Mesh material is also
intended for bathing.
Disposable stretcher sling is intended for assisted
lateral transfer of patients/residents with limited
ability to move while using a patient/resident
transfer lifter, under the supervision of trained
nursingsta.Disposablestretcherslingistobe
used for a limited period only, and, by nature of
their design, must be treated as a disposable
andpatient/residentspecicproduct.Disposable
stretcher sling should be used together with
Arjo lift devices in accordance with the Allowed
CombinationsspeciedintheIFU.
Disposable stretcher sling must not be used to
support a resident while bathing or showering.
Disposable stretcher sling cannot be washed.
The Stretcher sling/Disposable stretcher sling
shall only be used by appropriately trained
caregivers with adequate knowledge of the
care environment, and in accordance with the
instructionsoutlinedintheInstructionsforUse.
The Stretcher sling/Disposable stretcher sling is
intended to be used in hospital environments,
nursing homes, other healthcare facilities and
home care.
The Stretcher sling/Disposable stretcher sling
shouldonlybeusedforthepurposespecied
inthisInstructionsforUse.Anyotheruseis
prohibited.
Patient/Resident Assessment
We recommend that facilities establish regular
assessment routines. Caregivers should assess
each patient/resident according to the following
criteria prior to use:
• Patient/resident is passive
• Might be almost completely bed ridden
• Oftenstiorcontractedjoints
• Totally dependent on the caregiver
• Physically demanding for the caregiver
• Stimulation and activation is not a primary
goal

• MAA1151, MAA1150, MAA1152: 272 kg
(600lbs).
SafeWorkingLoad(SWL)forDisposable
stretcher sling:
• MFA5000:272kg(600lbs).
The right type and size of slings should be used
after proper assessment of each patient/resident’s
size, condition and the type of lifting situation.
If the patient/resident does not meet these criteria
an alternative equipment/system shall be used.
Expected Service Life
The expected service life of Stretcher sling/
Disposable stretcher sling is the maximum period
of useful life.
The expected life of the sling is dependent on
the actual use conditions. Therefore, before use,
always make sure that the sling does not show
any sign of fraying, tearing or other damage and
thatthereisnodamage(i.e.cracking,bending,
breaking).Ifanysuchdamageisobserved,do
not use the sling.
