Read this instruction manual before installing the Grow child restraint in your
vehicle.
Thank you for choosing an Axkid child seat. Our team has over 30 years combined
experience within child safety, and we have done our utmost to make the Grow child
seat as safe as possible. The Grow child restraint is approved according to ECE
R44/04, the latest European standards for child safety. To maximise your child’s safety
it is important that you keep the following in mind;

Read this instruction manual carefully before installing the Grow child restraint.
If in doubt, contact your retailer who can demonstrate a correct installation. An
incorrect installation could endanger your child.
The seat is ONLY to be used forward facing and for children weighing between
15 and 36kg.
Do not use a child restraint in a seating position where an active airbag is tted. If
you still wish to install the Grow in this location the airbag must be disconnected
at an authorised service centre. Some vehicles may be equipped with a switch
which allows you to manually switch the airbag o. It is important to always
check if the vehicle’s indicator light shows that the airbag is turned o.
DO NOT use anything such as a cushion or coat to raise the Grow o the
passenger seat. In the event of an accident, the Grow and the vehicle seat belts
will not be able to protect your child as well as they should.
Never leave your child unattended in the car.
All passengers must be secured in their seats using a safety belt.
Ensure all passengers know how to release your child in case of an emergency.

Ensure the Grow does not become trapped by any moveable seats or doors
within the vehicle.
Should you have an accident, no matter how small, your child restraint should
be replaced. It may have damage that is undetectable and could seriously
jeopardize your child’s safety. For this reason Axkid do not recommend
purchasing second hand child restraints.
To prevent injury due to deterioration, discontinue using a child seat if it is older
than six years or has been in a crash.
DO NOT not attempt use any part of this seat with any other child seat.
Ensure any luggage or loose objects (e.g. books, bags etc) are secured in your
vehicle as they may cause injuries to passengers in the event of a collision.
DO NOT (except where described in this booklet), attempt to disassemble or
modify this child car seat or change the way the vehicle’s seat belts are used.
DO NOT use the Grow in the home, or any other non-certied location - it has
only been designed to be used in a car.
Ensure that the Grow is secured to a car seat at all times - even when not in use.
DO NOT leave a folded down vehicle seat unsecured. In the event of a sudden
stop, a loose seat back could cause the child seat to not perform as intended.
Store this instruction manual in the designated location (J) on the car seat.

Notices
1. The child car seat must only be used in vehicles which are tted with a
three point seat belt system that has been approved by regulation ECE-16 or
similar.
2. A correct t is likely if the vehicle manufacturer has declared in the vehicle
hand book that the vehicle is capable of accepting a ‘Universal ’child restraint
for this group.
3. The child car seat is a ‘Universal’ child restraint; it conforms to regulation
ECE-R44/04 for general use in vehicles. It will t most, but not all vehicle
seats.
4. This child car seat has been declared ‘Universal’ under more stringent
conditions than those applied to earlier designs, which do not carry the
‘Universal’ mark.
5. Child car seats can mark vehicle seat upholstery. The manufacturer cannot
be held responsible for damage or marking to vehicle seats.
6. The following situations could be illegal and will void the warranty: a) Any
modications or change of use of the child car seat that have not been
authorised or advised by the manufacturer. b) Any failure to t the child car
seat in strict accordance with the instructions.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for issues arising from unauthorised
modications, uses or tting.
7. Please keep this manual safe for any possible queries you may have in the
future.

The Grow child restraint is suitable for use from approximately four years of age
up until the age of twelve. This child restraint can ONLY be installed forward-
facing.

Never install a child restraint in a passenger seat where
an active airbag is tted.
Placethechildcar seat in a suitable forward-facingposition.
Push the backrest until it rests at against the vehicle seat back.
Ifthevehicle’sseatbackisadjustable,ensureitisintheuprightposition.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT recline thechildseat’s backrestbeyondthe allowable
adjustablerange.Ifyouhearaloud “click” whilst adjustingthe backrest, thenyouhave
gone pasttheallowable range.

Reclining the vehicle seat may adversely aect the position of the vehicle seat
belt acrossthechildand mayresultindeathorseriousinjuryduring acrash.Refer
toyourvehicleowner’s manualfor adjusting thevehicle seat backwithchild
seats.
Placeyourchildinthe seat. Checktheheightandwidthofthechildseat.Ifnecessary
adjusttheheadrest(seestep7).
To adjust the height, width and t of the child car seat, squeeze the adjustment handle
(I) onthebackof theheadrestandmove theheadrestupordowntooneofitseleven
positions, until the correct height and width is achieved. Once the right t is found,
releasethehandleandcheckthe headrestto ensure itislockedintoposition.

Theseathastworetractable cupholders(oneperside).Simplypulloutone orboth cup
holdersasrequiredandpushthembackinwhen notneeded.
IMPORTANT:
DO NOT usewithhotliquids.
DO NOT stepon,put excessiveweight oruse excessiveforceonthecupholders.
IMPORTANT: NEVER place your child in the car seat whilst it is not tted in a car. The child
carseatshouldneverbeusedfree-standingasit maytipbackwards.
Slotthevehicleseatbelt’s shoulderstrapthroughtheshoulderbeltguide(B)andplacethelap
belt underthearmrest(C).
Lockthevehicleseatbelt intothebuckleensuring it “CLICKS”intoplace.
IMPORTANT: Make sure theseat beltisnottwisted andthat thelapbeltiswornlow
overthehips.
Check that thelapbeltpassesunderthearmrestsand overtheredlapbeltguides(A)
onbothsidesoftheseat.
Check that theshoulderbeltpassesthrough theshoulderbeltguide(B)thendiagonally
acrossthechild’s chestandoverthetopofthearmrestnearesttotheseatbeltbuckle.
Finally, checkthatallslackhasbeenremovedfromtheseatbeltandthatyour childisnow
secure.
IMPORTANT: Theseatbeltbuckle shouldNOT foul, jamorwedgeitselfunderthe
armrestasshown.
WARNING: An unoccupied child car seat should be secured using a 3-point seat belt.

Beforestarting:raise theheadrestup(thiswillallowmore roomtowork).
Startingwith thebase cover;removetheelasticloops(i,ii)fromtheirhooks andremove
thebasecover.
Headrest cover:removetheelastic loops(iii,iv)fromtheir hooksand remove thehead
cover.
Side-wing covers: pull the cover from the top of the wing and then down and o. Repeat
onotherwing.
To ret the seat covers: reverse the above steps.
