•
This scale passes a harmless, unnoticeable small electrical current through your body when tak-
ing a measurement. Never use, or allow others to use, this unit in combination with the follow-
ing medical electronic devices, as the scale’s current may cause these devices to malfunction:
- Medical electronic implants such as pacemakers

Packaging materials are a deadly hazard for children and can cause suffocation. Remove all
packaging materials immediately and keep them away from children at all times.
•
Consult your physician or healthcare provider before starting a weight loss or exercise program.
•
These measurements are not substitutes for physician assessments. For medical advice, con-
tact a physician.
•
Values obtained from this body analysis scale only approximate actual analytical medical data.
Only a specialist physician can accurately determine body fat, body water, and muscle percent-
age using special medical procedures. Always consult your physician to determine what will be
suitable for you.
•
This product is not a toy. Keep it out of reach of children.

Never rinse it in running water.
•
Do not place any objects on the scale when not in use.
•
Protect the device from knocks, damp, dust, chemicals, marked temperature fluctuations and nearby
sources of heat (ovens, heaters).

Do not press the buttons violently or with pointed objects.

4
•
Do not expose the scale to high temperatures or strong electromagnetic fields.
•
Never immerse and or spill water or any other liquid onto the scale.
•
When ‘Lo’ appears in the display change the battery right away. Do not let batteries discharge
completely.
•
If you do not intend to use the scale for long periods, remove the batteries from the battery com-
partment before storing the scale.

contact customer service. See warranty for service contact. Before contacting us, first check the
batteries and replace them if necessary.
•
Changes or modifications to the device will nullify the user warranty.
Notes:
•
The capacity of the scale is 400 lb (180 kg, 28.5 st).
•
For weight measurement and bone mass, the results are shown in 0.2 lb increments (0.1 kg, 1/4 st).
•
The measuring results of the body fat, body water and muscle percentage are shown in 0.1 %
increments.
•
Caloric requirements are displayed in 1 kcal increments.
•
Ages 10 to 100 and height settings from 3 ft 3 in to 7 ft 3 in (100 cm to 220 cm) can be preset.
•
The scale is initially set to ‘inch’ and ‘lb’. To switch to ‘kilogram’ (kg) or ‘stones’ (st:lb), power the scale
on and press the
or
button until the desired unit is displayed. For product information, questions
or customer service call toll free 1-800-536-0366 or email info@beurer.com.
Battery Handling Safety Precautions

teries) or old batteries with fresh ones. Always replace batteries as a simultaneous set.
•
If the batteries in the device are depleted or the device will not be used for a long period of time,
remove the batteries to prevent damage or injury from possible battery leakage.
•
Do not try to recharge batteries not intended to be recharged; they can overheat and rupture (follow
battery manufacturer’s directions).
•
Do not dispose of batteries in fire, batteries may explode or leak.
•

2. Introduction
T
his body analysis scale is intended for measuring body weight and providing an analysis of your
p
ersonal fitness data. It is intended for household use only. In addition to measuring body weight, the scale
has the following functions:
•B
ody weight in lb/kg/st
•B
ody fat BF in %
•B
ody water in %
•M
uscle ratio in %
•
Bone mass BM in lb, kg or st
•
Active metabolic rate AMR in kcal
•
BMI
T
he scale also includes the following features:
•S
witches between pounds (lb), kilograms (kg) and stones (st)
•A
utomatic shut-off
•
Low battery indicator
This scale works on the principle of Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA). This involves a quick calculation
of body content using a harmless electric current that is not even noticeable.
When measurement of the electrical resistance (impedance) is considered alongside other data (age, height,
gender, and activity level), body fat percentage and other variables in the body can be calculated. Muscle-
tissue and water conduct electricity well and therefore have a lower resistance. In contrast, bones and fat
tissue have low conductivity as the fat cells and bones are barely able to conduct the current due to very
high levels of resistance.
Please note that the values calculated by the analysis scale only represent an approximation of the actual
values for your body. Only a doctor can precisely establish body fat, body water, muscle percentage and
bone structure using medical methods.
General tips
•I
f possible, always weigh yourself at the same time every day (ideally in the morning), after having used
the restroom, on an empty stomach and with as little clothing as possible, in order to obtain comparable,
consistent results.
•C
alculation of body fat may only be made when barefoot; the soles of the feet may be lightly dampened
where appropriate. Results may be unsatisfactory if the soles of the feet are completely dry or feature high
levels of the horny layer of the skin as this leads to insufficient conductivity.
•S
tand up straight and still while weighing.
•W
ait a few hours after significant physical exertion.
•W
ait about 15 minutes after awakening so that your body’s water content can normalize.
•R
emember that only long-term trends are important. Brief deviations in weight within a few days are nor-
mally caused by loss of fluids; however, body water plays an important role in terms of well-being.
Limitations
When calculating body fat and additional values, deviating and unexpected results may occur in the case of:
•C
hildren under 10 years of age
•P
erformance athletes and bodybuilders
•P
regnant women
•
P
ersons with a fever, persons undergoing dialysis, persons demonstrating edema symptoms, and per-
sons suffering from osteoporosis
•P
ersons taking cardiovascular medicine (affecting the heart and vascular system)
