Refill Instructions For Brother TN-1050,
HL-1110, HL-1112 normal
With this toner cartridge TN-1050, HL-1110, HL-1112, Brother has launched a very compact and
space-saving model on the market. Unfortunately, the price is not as small as the toner cartridge. To
print conveniently, you can refill your toner cartridge. In this guide, we will show you step by step
how to do it.
Preparation for filling Brother TN-1050, HL-1110, HL-1112:
To fill the toner cartridge, you must first cut off the small spot weld (Figure 1). After you have cut
this off, you can also remove the sealing plug. Take a small spatula or other flat tool and carefully pry
open the stopper (Figure 2) and set it aside.

Before you fill your toner cartridge, you have to remove the remaining toner. Shake the cartridge in
a sealed plastic bag or vacuum the residual toner with a toner vacuum cleaner. Due to different
physical and chemical properties, new and old toner can clump together and make the toner
cartridge useless.

Take the bottle of refill toner and shake it lightly. Remove the cap from the bottle and screw in a
funnel. Carefully pour the toner into the toner cartridge (Figure 3). When you have filled the
cartridge, you can replace the previously removed plug. After filling, you only need to insert the
reset lever or reset it to "full".

Reset Lever to Brother TN-1050, HL-1110, HL-1112:
The reset lever is a mechanical device that counts down the toner level every time you print. You
need to insert the reset lever and a new side cover if you want to refill a starter cartridge (to be
used when buying a printer). Replenished toner cartridges already have the reset lever and the new
cover and only need to be reset in this case.
Loosen the two screws on the side cover (Figure 4). The side cover is now only attached with two
barbs. Loosen the two barbs (Figure 5 and 6) and remove the side cover. When you remove the
upper, right-hand gear (Figure 7), you can insert or reverse the reset lever (Figure 8). Make sure the
small plastic arm is pointing to the left. After inserting the reset lever, you can replace the previously
removed gear and replace the side cover

Inserting the new side cover:
After inserting the reset lever and returning it to full, you can replace the side cover. Please note
that you can not reuse the side of the starter cartridge and replace it with the new cover. The
difference between the old and the new cover is that the new cover has a recess for the reset lever.
As a result, the reset lever can perform its services without problems and reliably shows you when
the toner cartridge is "empty" again.
Take the new cover and replace it in the same position (Figures 10 and 11). Tighten the cover with
the two screws again. Now you can put your toner cartridge back in the printer and continue
printing as usual.
