UNPACKING
On unpacking your safe open it, according to the
instructions below, and remove the contents. In the
case of the CS1055, this includes the anchor ‘Break
Head’ bolts - used for mounting purposes.
(The procedure for mounting the CS1055 is
described later in this booklet).
When you subsequently open the safe, follow the
instructions given under ‘Opening the Safe’.
REGISTRATION
Please ensure you complete the Registration form
on the back page of this booklet, remembering to
include the serial number of your safe and the key
number.
The serial number is to be found printed on a small
foil label on the lower L.H. corner of the R.H. side -
CS1055, and lower R.H. front corner - CS1190.
Record the serial number also for your own use in
the event the foil label becomes detached or
unreadable, and the key number in the event you
lose the key. Remember, DO NOT store these
numbers in the safe.
Forward the Registration Card to the Customer
Service Manager at Clarke International at the
address shown on the registration form.
If your combination or key is lost or misplaced, you
may contact Clarke International, Customer
Services Department with a written request for your
combination numbers or a replacement key,
quoting your serial number.
If your registration is on file, the combination will be
returned to you in written form. There will be a small
charge made for a replacement key.
If you fail to register and subsequently lose your
combination or key, we are unable to provide
you with replacements. It is therefore in your
own interest to register.
OPENING THE SAFE
Your combination is stamped on the front cover and
has 4 numbers. To open the safe, please follow these
simple instructions:
1. Turn the dial to the right, passing the first number
four times and stopping at that number the next
time around.
2. Turn the dial to the left, passing the second
number two times and stopping at that number
the next time around.
3. Turn the dial to the right, passing the third
number one time and stopping at that number
the next time around.
Thank you for purchasing this CLARKE Strongarm Fire Safe which is designed to provide you with maximum
security and many years of protection for your valuables and cherished possessions.
Please read this information booklet thoroughly in order that you may familiarise yourself with all aspects
of the safe including its installation and operation.
For security reasons, it is of the utmost importance that you let your combination be known to as few
people as possible.
We strongly advised that you DO NOT store any medicines in the safe to which you may require quick
access.
4. Turn the dial to the left, to the fourth number
and stop.
5. Insert the key in the cylindrical lock and turn it
clockwise to open
CLOSING THE SAFE
Close the safe door and in the case of the CS1055,
turn the key anticlockwise to lock. (The CS1190 has
automatic locking).
REMEMBER to spin the dial in order to reset the
tumblers - both models.
MOUNTING YOUR SAFE.
(CS1055 only)
The CS1055 safe may be mounted on a shelf or
other furniture of your choice.
Please bear in mind, that for maximum security the
shelf/furniture must be of sufficient strength, or
reinforced to prevent the removal of the safe by
force. REMEMBER, your safe is only as secure as its
mountings. The weight of the safe itself, may not
deter an intruder from carrying it off to open at
leisure.
Plan the installation carefully, and if necessary, seek
expert advice.
There are four threaded holes in the base of the
safe and four ‘Break Head’ bolts are provided for
mounting to a shelf or other furniture.
Use the template provided to drill four mounting
holes in the shelf, or furniture.
Remove the screws securing the rubber feet. Insert
the break head bolts through the mounting surface
and the rubber feet and screw them into the
threaded holes in the base of the safe.
Tighten the bolts progressively until each bolt head
snaps off.
NOTE:
The rubber feet may be omitted if desired to
avoid having a gap between the safe and the
furniture. If there is sufficient clearance around
the safe, this gap could be used to insert a lever
to pry the safe away from a wooden mounting.
The Break Head bolts may be cut to length if
desired.
