Bitte
bewahren
Sie
alle
Verpackungsteile
für
einen
eventuellen
späteren
Transport
auf.
Nun
setzen
Sie
den
Plattenteller
vorsichtig
auf
die
Motorachse.
Stecken
Sie
den
Dorn
des
Balancegewichtes
in
das
hintere
Ton-
armende.
Achten
Sie
darauf,
daß
die
V-förmige
Nut
der
Achse
nach
unten
zeigt
(Fig.
2).
Die
Abstimmung
des
Tuning-Antiresonators,
das
Ausbalancieren
des
Tonarmes,
sowie
die
Einstellungen
von
Auflagekraft
und
Antiskating
sind
nachstehend
beschrieben.
Die
Höhe
der
Auflagekraft
für
das
in
das
Gerät
bereits
einge-
setzte
Tonabnehmersystem
entnehmen
Sie
bitte
dem
separaten
Datenblatt.
Tonabnehmersystem
Für
den
Fall,
daß
Sie
das
Gerät
ohne
Tonabnehmer
gekauft
haben,
beachten
Sie
bitte
zuerst
die
im
Abschnitt
“Einbau
eines
1/2
Zoll-Tonabnehmers'*,

gemachten
Hinweise.
‚Abstimmen des Tuning-Anti-Resonators
Ihr
Dual
Plattenspieler
besitzt
einen
Tuning-Anti-Resonator,
der
es
erlaubt,
den
Tonarm
optimal
an
das
verwendete
Tonab-
nehmersystem
anzupassen
(Fig.
5).
Mit
dieser
Einrichtung
kön-
nen
sowohl
die
Dual
ULM-Tonabnehmer
als
auch
herkömmliche
1/2
inch-Tonabnehmersysteme
optimal
angepaßt
werden.
Für
das
im
Werk
eingesetzte
ULM-Tonabnehmersystem
sowie
für
einige
der
häufigsten
1/2
inch-Tonabnehmersysteme
finden
Sie
den
einzustellenden
Wert
in
der
nachstehenden
Tabelle.
Für
Tonabnehmersysteme,
die
in
der
Tabelle
nicht
aufgeführt
sind,
können
Sie
den
Wert
aus
dem
Diagramm
ermitteln.
Sie
wählen
auf
der
horizontalen
Skala
das
Gesamtgewicht
des
Tonabnehmers,
fahren
senkrecht
nach
oben,
bis
Sie
die
ent-
sprechende
Linie
für
die
Compliance
treffen
und
projizieren
diesen
Punkt
auf
die
vertikale
Skala,
auf
der
Sie
dann
den
optimalen
Tuning-Wert
ablesen
können.
Die
Angaben
für
das
Eigengewicht
und
die
Compliance
finden
Sie
im
Datenblatt,
das
jedem
Tonabnehmersystem
beiliegt

Addieren Sie zum Nettogewicht des Tonabnehmersystems das
Gewicht der Befestigungsmittel (Schrauben, Distanzrollen,
Muttern). Bei den Dual ULM-Tonabnehmersystemen ist das
Nettogewicht gleich dem Gesamtgewicht.
Zur Einstellung des Tuning-Anti-Resonators verdrehen Sie den
Skalenring im Uhrzeigersinn, bis der ermittelte Skalenwert über
der Kerbe steht (Fig. 5). Halten Sie dabei mit einer Hand den
Dorn und verdrehen Sie mit der anderen den Skalenring.

Vorbereitung
1.
SchlieRen
Sie
den
Plattenspieler
an
das
Netz
an.
2. Driicken Sie den Netzschalter POWER (22).
3. Uber der Taste LIFT (13) sollte der Pfeil w beleuchtet sein,
falls nicht Taste drücken.
4. Drücken Sie einmal die Taste START (15) bei auf der Ton-
armstütze arretiertem Tonarm.
5. Schalten Sie den Netzschalter POWER (22) wieder aus.

Ausbalancieren
1. Auflagekraft (4) auf “0” stellen und Zeiger der Antiskating
(7) nach links drehen,
2. Tonarm entriegeln und nach innen schwenken.
3. Zum groben Ausbalancieren die Schraube (2) lösen und das
Balancegewicht (1) so verschieben, bis der Tonarm grob aus-
balanciert ist. Dann die Schraube (2) wieder anziehen.
4. Zum genauen Ausbalancieren das vordere Rändelrad des
Balancegewichtes benutzen.
Der Tonarm ist korrekt ausbalanciert, wenn er frei schwebt und
wieder in seine Lage zurückgeht, wenn er nach oben oder unten
gedrückt wird.
Einstellen der Auflagekraft
Jedes
Tonabnehmersystem
benötigt
eine
bestimmte
Auflage-
kraft,
bei
der
optimale
Wiedergabe
erzielt
wird.
Für das
einge-
baute
Tonabnehmersystem
finden
Sie
diese
Angabe
auf
dem
beiliegenden
Datenblatt.
Ist der Tonarm exakt ausbalanciert, wird durch Verdrehen der
Auflagekraftskala (4) die optimale Auflagekraft eingestellt. Die
Auflagekraft läßt sich kontinuierlich im Bereich von O bis 20 mN
(0 - 2p) einstellen, wobei die Ziffernangabe auf der Skala
1 10mN A Ip
2 = 20mN À 2p
bedeutet. Analog dazu entspricht ein Teilstrich im Bereich von
2-15 mN (0,2-1,5p) 1 mN (0,1 p).
Das Gerät arbeitet ab 2,5 mN (0,25 p) Auflagekraft betriebssicher.
Antiskating-Einrichtung
Die auf jeden Tonarm wirkende Skating-Kraft wird bei Ihrem
Plattenspieler durch eine genaue Antiskating-Einrichtung
kompensiert.
Für die heute üblichen Nadeltypen sind getrennte Einstellskalen
vorhanden, entsprechend den aufgedruckten Symbolen:
O Einstellung für sphärische Abtastnadeln.
© Einstellung für biradiale (elliptische) Abtastnadeln.
Die Einstellung der Antiskating-Kraft richtet sich nach der ein-
gestellten Auflagekraft

Beim
Naßabtasten
wählen
Sie
den
zweiten
Tabellenwert.
Wenn
der
Zeiger
nach
links
zeigt
ist
die
Antiskating-Einrichtung
abgeschaltet.
Aufsetzen der Abdeckhaube
Setzen
Sie
die
Abdeckhaube
in
die
Schlitze
der
beiden
Hauben-
halter
(3)
ein.
Das
Einsetzen
und
Entnehmen
geht
am
leichte-
sten,
wenn
die
Schlitze
der
Haubenhalter
senkrecht
nach
oben
stehen.
Ist
die
Abdeckhaube
etwa
eine
Handbreite
geöffnet,
bleibt
sie
in
jeder
weiteren
Öffnungsstellung
stehen.
Sollte eine Korrektur des Entlastungsmomentes (Federkraft,
die
die
Haube
über
der
Konsole
hält)
notwendig
werden,
kann
dies
durch
Drehen
der
beiden
von
hinten
zugänglichen
Schrau-
ben erfolgen (Fig. 6):

Anschluß an das Wechselstromnetz
Der
Plattenspieler
ist
entsprechend
der
Spannungsangabe
auf
dem
Typenschild
entweder
auf
eine
Netzspannung

einge-
stellt.
Die Umstellung der Netzspannung bleibt grundsätzlich dem
Fachhändler oder einer autorisierten Dual-Kundendienstwerk-
státte vorbehalten.
Das Gerät kann auch an die Steckdose entsprechend ausgestat-
teter Verstärker angeschlossen werden.
Anschluß an den Verstärker
Verbinden Sie das mit RCA-(Cinch-)Steckern ausgerüstete
Tonabnehmerkabel mit dem Phono-Magnet-Eingang des Ver-
stärkers (Schwarz = rechter Kanal, weiß = linker Kanal). Di
mit einem Kabelschuh ausgerüstete einzelne Leitung klemmen
oder schrauben Sie unter die mit “GND” bezeichnete Klemm-
einrichtung auf der Verstärkerrückseite.
Falls Ihr Verstärker nur DIN-Buchsen hat, benötigen Sie den
Adapter Dual Art. Nr. 262 483, der über den Fachhandel ge-
liefert werden kann. Die einzelne Leitung muß auch in diesem
Fall am Verstärker angeschlossen werden.
Besser ist es jedoch, wenn Sie den Plattenspieler von Ihrem
Fachhändler mit dem Tonabnehmerkabel Dual Art. Nr. 207 303
ausrüsten lassen.
Bedienung
Inbetriebnahme
Mit der Taste POWER (22) wird das Gerät eingeschaltet. Wäh-
len Sie bitte mit der Drehtaste (10) die gewünschte Drehzahl
33 1/3 oder 45 U/min, klappen Sie den Nadelschutz nach oben
und entriegeln Sie den Tonarm.
Bitte beachten Sie, daß Ihre Schallplatten und die Abtastnadel
durch Staubablagerungen beschädigt werden, Wir empfehlen
daher, die Schallplatte vor Spielbeginn von Staub zu reinigen
(z.B. mit Antistatic-Tuch usw.).
1. Automatischer Start
Die Tonarmaufsetzautomatik des Gerätes ist mit der Platten-
teller-Drehzahl gekoppelt
Bei der Plattenteller-Drehzahl 33 1/3 U/min setzt der Tonarm
in der Einlaufrille von 30cm-Langspielplatten auf, bei der Dreh-
zahl 45 U/min in der Einlaufrille von 17 cm-(Single-)Schallplat-
ten. Die gewählte Plattenteller-Drehzahl wird im Anzeigedisplay
(17) optisch angezeigt.
Zur Einleitung der Start-Funktion Taste START (15) drücken.
Der Tonarm schwenkt über die Schallplatte und senkt die Ab-
tastnadel behutsam in der Einlaufrille der Schallplatte ab.
2. Manuelle Inbetriebnahme
a) Taste LIFT (13) drücken (Pfeil a ist beleuchtet).
b) Führen Sie den Tonarm von Hand über die gewünschte Stelle
der Schallplatte.
c) Taste LIFT (13) nochmals drücken (Pfeil w leuchtet auf).
Der Tonarm senkt sich ab.
3. Schallplatte soll nochmals von Anfang an gespielt werden
Drücken Sie die Taste START (15).
4. Spielunterbrechung (Pause)
Drücken Sie die Taste LIFT (13), Tonarm hebt ab.
Nochmaliges Drücken, der Tonarm senkt sich wieder. Die vor
der Pause zuletzt gespielten Takte werden wiederholt.
5. Ausschalten
Drücken Sie die Taste STOP (14). Der Tonarm kehrt auf die
Stütze zurück. Das Gerät schaltet sich aus.
6. Automatisches Dauerspiel
Drücken Sie die Taste cO (16). Am Ende der gespielten Schall-
platte setzt der Tonarm erneut in der Einlaufrille auf. Die
Schallplatte wird solange wiederholt, bis die Taste STOP (14)
gedrückt oder die Taste cO (16) wieder gelöst wird,
Bemerkung: Bei Schallplatten mit abweichenden Durchmes-
sern, 2.B. 25 cm-Schallplatten, ist das Gerät manuell zu bedie-
nen (siehe “2. Manuelle Inbetriebnahme”).
Nach dem Spielen der Schallplatte, unabhängig davon, ob der
Tonarm von Hand auf die Schallplatte gesetzt oder das Gerät
automatisch gestartet wurde, erfolgt die Rückführung des Ton-
armes und das Abschalten automatisch.
Es empfiehlt sich, nach Beendigung des Spieles den Tonarm
wieder zu verriegeln und den Nadelschutz herunterzuklappen.

Drehen Sie das kleinere Gewinde der Spezialschraube in das
Balancegewicht (1). Auf das dickere Teil der Schraube
drehen Sie — mit der Abschrägung nach außen — die ent-
sprechenden Zusatzgewichte.
Balancieren Sie den Tonarm — wie im Abschnitt “Aus-
balancieren des Tonarmes”’ beschrieben — wieder sorgfältig
aus und stellen Sie die für das Tonabnehmersystem erforder-
liche Auflagekraft und Antiskatingkraft ein.
Bitte prüfen Sie nach erfolgter Montage eines 1/2 inch-Tonab-
nehmersystems auch die Höhe der Abtastnadel über der
Schallplatte bei Tonarmlift in Stellung a, sowie das Aufsetzen
der Abtastnadel in der Einlaufrille der Schallplatte. Siehe
Abschnitte “Tonarmlift” und “Justierung des Tonarmaufsetz-
punktes” (Seite 8).
Service
Alle Schmierstellen sind ausreichend mit Öl versorgt. Damit
wird unter normalen Bedingungen Ihr Gerät jahrelang einwand-
frei arbeiten. Versuchen Sie an keiner Stelle selbst nachzuólen.
Sollte Ihr Plattenspieler jemals eine Wartung brauchen, bringen
Sie ihn bitte entweder zu Ihrem Fachhändler oder fragen Sie

Preparation for play
Unpacking and installation
Remove the unit and all accessory parts from the shipping car-
ton. Unscrew the three transport safety screws marked with a
red washer (Fig. 1). Please keep the original packing material
and the three transport safety screws in a safe place as they
may be needed later should you wish to transport the unit.
Now carefully place the platter onto the motor shaft

to set the tuning anti-resonator, balance the tonearm and set
the tracking force and the anti-skating force.

the
cartridge
fitted
to
your
turntable.
Cartridge
If you purchased the turntable without cartridge, please refer
first to “Installing of 1/2'' cartridges” on page 12 and follow
these instructions carefully.
Adjustment of the Tunable Anti-Resonator
Your Dual turntable is equipped with a tunable anti-resonator
which provides optimum compatibility of the tonearm with any
cartridge to be used. (See Fig. 5). This device cancels out un-
desirable
oscillations
of
the
tonearm
which
are
caused
by
the
stylus and are transferred by the cartridge. The antiresonator
can
be
used
for
Dual
ULM
cartridges
as
well
as
other
1/2"
cartridges. For correct adjustment of the tunable antiresonator
please refer to the table below which lists the most essential
specifications of factory-mounted Dual ULM cartridges as well
as those of other popular 1/2" models
To obtain the correct setting for cartridges not listed in this
table, please refer to the diagram enclosed. First find the total
cartridge weight on the horizontal scale, proceed from this
point
in
vertical
direction
upward
to
the
corresponding
com-
pliance line. Transfer the reading obtained to the vertical scale
which shows the optimum anti-resonator setting.
Please
refer
to
the
cartridge
manufacturer's
spec
sheet
for
net
weight
and
compliance
of
your
cartridge
model,
then
add
the
weight
of
the
hardware
(screws,
spacers,
nuts,
washers).
The
net
weight
of
Dual
ULM
cartridges
is
equal
to
their
total
weight.
To
adjust
the
tunable
anti-resonator
rotate
the
dial
ringin
clock-
wise
direction
until
the
calculated
setting
appears
above
the
index
marking
(Fig.
5),
while
holding
the
stem
with
the
other
hand.
Attention
To
lock
the
tunable
anti-resonator
during
transport
of your
turntable,
turn
the
damping
selector
across
the
wedge-
shaped
index
mark
until
it
locks.

Preparation
1. Connect turntable to AC outlet, or to jack (unswitched) on
rear of your amplifier or receiver.
2. Press POWER switch (22) to turn turntable on.

Balancing procedures
1. Set tracking force dial (4) to 0 and pointer of anti-skating
dial (7) to left (off position).
2.
Unlock
the
tonearm
and
pivot
it
toward
platter
over
the
tonearm
rest
bar.
3.
For
coarse
balance,
loosen
locking
screw
(2)
and
shift
the
counterbalance
with
the
shaft.
Then
tighten
the
locking
screw.
4.
For
fine
balance,
turn
the
front
knurled
ring
of
the
counter-
balance.
The tonearm is correctly balanced when it floats horizontally
over
the
rest
bar
and
when
it
returns
to
this
horizontal
position
after being gently pushed up or down.
Tracking Force Adjustment
In
order
to
provide
optimum
reproduction
of
the
sound
signals
cut
into
the
record
groove,
a
certain
pressure
—
called
“tracking
10
force’ — must be applied on the stylus. If you purchased your
turntable with a factory-mounted Dual cartridge, you'll find
the correct tracking force in the spec sheet supplied with the
unit.
After adjusting the tonearm balance as described above, set the
tracking force by adjusting the dial ring of the counterweight (4).
The tracking force can be continuously set within the range
from 0 to 20 mN (0 - 2 g), whereby the digits on the scale
represent the following.
1 = 10mN 4 1g
2 20mN A 2g
A graduation mark in the range from 2- 15 mN (0.2 -1.5 g) is
equivalent to this 1 mN (0.1 g).
The unit works reliably from a tracking force of 2.5 mN
(0.25 g) onwards.
Anti-skating
The
skating
force
acting
upon
any
tonearm
leads
to
one-sided
wear
of
the
stylus
and
record
and
can
cause
distorted
repro-
duction.
For
stylus
types
generally
available
nowadays,
separate
setting
scales
are
available
in
accordance
with
the
printed
symbols:
O Setting for spherical styli.
© Setting for biradial (elliptical) styli.
Adjustment of the anti-skating device should be carried out
to match the setting of the stylus pressure:

The
skating
force
is
reduced
by
approximately
1/3
in
the
case
of
“wet”
playing
(playing
records
moistened
with
liquid).
The
antiskating
device
is
switched
off
when
the
pointer
is
set
to
the
left.
Dust cover Installation
Insert
the
cover
into
the
slots
on
the
two
hinges

It
will
be
easier
to
insert
or
remove
the
cover
if
the
slots
on
the
cover
hinges
are
in
a
vertical
position.
The
cover
will
remain
in
any

spring
pressure

maintains

cover

position,

may

Operation
Preparation
Turn the unit on by depressing the POWER switch (22). Set the
speed selector knob (10) to either 33 1/3 or 45 RPM, whichever
corresponds to the prescribed speed of the record to be played.
Pull up the stylus guard of the cartridge and release the tonearm
lock on the arm rest.
Please note that records and stylus can be damaged by dust
accumulation. We therefore recommend you clean each record
before it is placed on the turntable with a silicon cloth, antista-
tic brush etc. Also remove dust from the stylus tip gently with
a soft brush.
1, Automatic start
The record speed switch (10) is coupled to automatic indexing.
When set to 33 or 45 rpm, the stylus will set down in the lead-in
groove of 30 cm (12”) and 17 cm (7”) records respectively.
The selected speed will be illuminated on the front panel (17).
To begin play automatically, press the START button (15).
The platter will start rotating, and the tonearm will move to
the record and lower the stylus gently in the lead-in groove.
2. Manual Operation
a) Depress the LIFT pushbutton (13). Arrowmark a lights up.
b) Swing the tonearm over the desired position of the record
manually.
c) Depress the LIFT pushbutton (13) once more. The v arrow-
mark lights up and the tonearm is lowered on the record.
3. Interruption and replay
Press START button (15). (The tonearm will lift from the re-
cord, return to the lead-in groove and begin play again.)
4. Pause Function
To interrupt record play, depress the LIFT pushbutton (13).
Operation resumes by depressing the LIFT pushbutton once
more. The stylus will be lowered to approximately the same
position on the record where it was lifted off and the last few
music beats played before the pause are repeated.
5. Auto stop
Depress the STOP pushbutton (14). The tonearm will return auto-
matically to the arm rest and the turntable drive is switched off.
6. Continuous repeat
Press GO pushbutton (16). At the end of the record, the tone-
arm will automatically repeat play from the beginning until
either button (16) is pressed again or STOP (14) is pressed.
Note: To play records of non-standard size, such as 25 cm LP
(10”) discs or direct-cut records (e.g. 30 cm records to be
played with 45 RPM), your turntable must be operated ma-
nually. See Part 2 "Manual Operation”.
Regardless of operating mode (automatic or manual), the tone-
arm will return to the arm rest automatically at the end of the
record. Simultaneously the power will be cut off and the
platter stops rotating. We recommend to always lock the
tonearm to the arm rest and to swing down the stylus guard
when the turntable is not in use.
Tonearm lift
This function overrides the automatic operation. For example,
ifthe (4 ) arrow above the lift button is illuminated when start
is pressed, the tonearm will move to the record and remain
suspended over it until the lift button is pressed and the (w)
arrow is illuminated. Then the tonearm will descend and begin
play.
The tonearm's descent speed can be varied by adjustment con-
trol (5). See figure 3. Turning toward (—) slows descent speed,
turning toward (+) increases descent speed.

Stylus height over record when the tonearm is raised by lift
can be adjusted approximately + 6 mm by turning set screw (6)
when the tonearm is in the up position. (4 illuminated).
Pitch control
Each of the two standard speeds, 33 1/3 and 45 rpm, can be
varied + 6 percent by use of controls (18) and (20) respectively.
Press

be
shown
on
the
illuminated
indicator

The
word
PITCH
will
also
be
illuminated.
To
resume
QUARTZ-controlled
speed,
release

and

word
QUARTZ
will
then
be
illuminated.
(The
previously
set
pitch-control
variations
will
remain
in
memory,
thus
allowing
repeated
comparisons.)
Strobe
patterns
on
the
platter's
edge
are
illuminated
by
a
spe-
cial
LED
(21).

4.
The
sequence
of
light
pulses
equals
the
quartz-stabilized
frequency
which
controls
the
motor
speed.
This
indicator
functions
independently
of
line
frequency
and
does
not
require
several
stroboscope
patterns
for
different
speeds
and
line
frequencies.
Illuminated platter speed indicators
This device shows at both platter speeds the percentage
deviation from the original speed.
Tunable Acoustic Insulators
One
of
the
most
frequent
problems
in
turntable
operation
are
vibrations
of
various
origins,
being
picked
up
by
the
turntable
chassis
and
transferred
to
the
cartridge,
which
converts
these
vibrations
into
interference
signals.
To
eliminate
these
problems,
Dual's
new
generation
of
turn-
tables is equipped with tunable acoustic insulators. (Fig, 10)
Interference may be caused by:
1. External vibrations. They occur when the turntable is placed
on a table or shelf in a room with wooden floor. External
vibrations, such as footsteps are transferred from the floor
to the furniture and from there to the turntable. Solution:
rotate the dial rings of the acoustic insulators clockwise (+).
2. Acoustic Feedback. A loud, howling noise will be encoun-
tered when sound waves radiated by the loudspeakers are
being picked up by the cartridge, Acoustic feedback is most
likely to occur when speakers and turntable are installed in
the same shelf. Solution: rotate the dial rings of the acoustic
insulators counterclockwise (—).
All
four
acoustic
insulators
should
be
adjusted
by
the
same
amount.
This will provide optimum acoustic insulation.
Alignment of the tonearm landing point
When the START button (15) is operated, the stylus automati-
cally lowers itself into the lead-in groove of the record, If, in
the case of a subsequently fitted cartridge for example, the
stylus sets down too far from the lead-in groove, the landing
point of the diamond stylus can be corrected with the align-
ment screw (8).
If the stylus sets down too far inside or outside the record,
turn the alignment screw to the left or the right accordingly.
The setting is effective not only for 17 cm but also for 30 cm
records.
Cartridge and stylus
Please refer to the enclosed data sheet supplied separately with
your unit.
Installing cartridges
Note: If you purchased your Dual turntable with a ULM
cartridge, it has already been installed and mounted in the
tonearm. If you wish to use an additional cartridge with
1/2-inch mounting center, an optional mounting kit is included
or available from your Dual dealer.
Replacing the cartridge
You may release the complete cartridge from the tonearm by
pressing the tonearm lift (12) to the rear. When doing this, firmly
grip the cartridge as it will fall off once the locking device has
been released (Fig. 8)
The tonearm lift may, however, only be moved to the rear if
you have previously removed the safety screw (11) (Fig. 11)

In order to replace the cartridge you must place it from below
against the head shell so that the front edges are flush. Please
ensure that the cartridge lies absolutely flat on the head shell
before pulling the tonearm lift to the front in order to.lock it
in position (Fig. 12). You may then, if desired, reinsert the
safety screw (Fig. 11/(11))
Stylus
The stylus is subject to natural wear and tear during normal
playing. Therefore, we recommend you occasionally check the
stylus and, in the case of diamond styli, this should be carried
out after approximately 300 playing hours. Your specialist
dealer will be pleased to do this for you free of charge. Worn
or damaged (splintered) styli chisel the modulation from the
grooves and destroy records. Therefore, only use as replacement
the stylus types recommended in the technical data of the
cartridge.
Imitated
styli
result
in
audible
quality
losses
and
in-
creased wear and tear of records. Please remember that, for
physical reasons, the stylus holder with the diamond stylus is
extremely fine and must therefore be necessarily sensitive to
impacts, shocks or uncontrolled movement.
When removing the stylus please note the information contained
on the separately enclosed data sheet referring to the cartridge
on your unit.
Installing of 1/2-inch cartridge
Your Dual turntable will provide excellent tracking and re-
production if used in conjunction with ULM (Ultra low mass)
cartridges. However the tonearm characteristics are so good
that even substantially heavier 1/2” cartridges will operate
optimally. If you wish to fit a standard 1/2” cartridge, please
proceed as follows:
1)
If
necessary,
remove
the
safety
screw
(Fig.
11/(11)).
2)
Remove
the
cartridge
from
the
head
shell
as
described
in
the
section
"Replacing
the
cartridge”.
3)
Attach
the
1/2”
cartridge
to
the
mounting
plate
with
the
aid
of
the
system
installation
gauge
and,
using
the
acces-
sories
enclosed
with
the
cartridge.
This
has
been
correctly
installed
if
the
tip
of the
stylus
—
viewed
from
above
—
is
in
the
V-shaped
recess
of
the
system
installation
gauge.
Viewed
from
the
side,
the
stylus
must
be in
the
area
of
the
rectangular
recess
(Fig.
9)
4) Connect the connections of the head shell to the connecting
pins on the cartridge. The connections are color-coded:

Screw the smaller thread of the special screw into the coun-
terweight (1). With the bevelled side to the outside, screw
the corresponding additional weights onto the thicker part
of the screw.

in the section "Balancing the tonearm”’ and set the stylus
pressure and anti-skating force required for your cartridge,
After having mounted a 1/2 inch cartridge check the height of
the playing needle above the record with the pick-up arm lift
in position a also check that the needle lowers into the run-in
groove of the record. See parts ‘Cue control (Pause) (page 11)
and “Adjustment of tonearm indexing” (page 11).
Servicing
All the lubrication points have sufficient oil. Thus, your unit
will operate impeccably for many years under normal condi-
tions. Never try to lubricate any of the lubrication points your-
self. If your record player should ever need servicing, either
take it to your specialist dealer or ask him for the address of
the nearest authorized Dual Servicing Workshop. Please make
sure that only original Dual replacement parts are used.
Should the unit ever be dispatched, make sure that this is
packed perfectly, if possible, by using the original packaging.
The platter
The
balanced
full-size
aluminum
alloy
platter
lies
directly
on
the
motor
spindle
and,
when
placed
in
position,
is
automatically
fixed
through
its
own
weight.
Additional
locking
is
not
neces-
sary
and
is
also
not
provided
for.
Important! Remove the platter before transporting the unit!
Subsequent transport
If
you
wish
to
transport
the
unit
long
distances,
we
recommend
that
the
cover
and
the
platter
be
removed.
The
counterweight
should
also
be
removed.
Screw
the
three
transport
safety
screws
back
in
position.
Ensure
that
the
tonearm
is
locked
and
the
stylus
cover
is
in
position.
Note:
After
each
transport,
the
unit
should
be
started
once
with
the
tonearm
locked
for

L’ajustage de l'antirésonateur
Votre platine Dual est équipée d'un antirésonateur ajustable
qui vous permet d'adapter de façon optimale le bras aux
cellules utilisées (Fig. 5). Gräce a ce dispositif, les cellules
ULM Dual ainsi que les cellules d'1/2'* ayant un poids propre
de 2 à 10 g peuvent être adaptées de façon optimale. Le tableau
ci-dessous vous permet de relever la valeur que vous devez régler
pour la cellule ULM montée dans l'appareil avant sa sortie
d'usine ainsi que pour les cellules d’1/2” les plus utilisées. Le
diagramme permet de déterminer cette valeur pour les cellules
qui ne sont pas mentionnées dans le tableau.
Pour cela, choisissez le poids propre de la cellule sur l'échelle
horizontale, remontez verticalement vers le haut jusqu'à ce
que vous rencontriez la ligne correspondante pour la “com-
pliance" et projetez ce point sur l'échelle verticale sur laquelle
vous pouvez alors lire la valeur optimale d'ajustage.
Pour régler l'antirésonateur, tournez la bague graduée dans le
sens des aiguilles d'une montre jusqu'à ce que la valeur ainsi
déterminée se trouve en face de l'encoche (Fig. 5).
Pour ce faire, maintenez la broche d'une main et tournez la
bague graduée de l'autre
Attention L'antirésonateur ajustable est bloqué pour le trans-
port lorsque le sélecteur d'amortissement dans la zone du repère
en forme de coin a été amené contre la butée.

Equilibrage du bras de lecture (cellule de lecture en
place)
Préparatifs
1. Brancher la platine tourne-disques sur le secteur.
2. Enfoncer l'interrupteur de secteur POWER (22).
3. Au-dessus de la touche LIFT (13), la flèche w devrait étreal-
lumée, sinon enfoncer la touche.
4. Appuyer une fois sur la touche START (mise en marche)
(15), le bras de lecture étant en appui sur sa béquille.
5. Couperle contact avec l'interrupteur de secteur POWER (22).
Equilibrage
1. Ajuster la force d'appui (4) à “O” et faire tourner l'aiguille
de l'anti-skating (7) vers la gauche.
2. Déverrouiller le bras de lecture et le faire pivoter vers l'in-
terieur.
3. Pour l'équilibrage approximatif, desserrer la vis (2) et faire
coulisser le contrepoids (1) jusqu'à ce que le bras soit à peu
près en équilibre. Resserrer la vis (2).
4. Pour l'équilibrage de précision, agir sur la molette avant du
contrepoids.
Le bras de lecture est parfaitement équilibré s'il oscille libre-
ment
et
revient
à
sa
position
de
départ
lorsqu'on
le
pousse
vers
le
haut
ou
vers
le
bas
Réglage de la force d'appui
Chaque cellule réclame une force d'appui déterminée, pour
laquelle on obtient une reproduction optimale. La force d'ap-
pui nécessaire pour la cellule incorporée est indiquée dans la
fiche technique ci-jointe.
Lorsque le bras est équilibré, on procède au réglage de la force
d'appui requise pour la cellule en question en tournant l'échelle
graduée correspondante (4). La force d'appui peut être réglée
en continu de 0 à 20 mN (0 - 2 g). Les chiffres indiqués sur
l'échelle graduée ont la signification suivante:
1 = 10mN 4 1g
2 20 mN 2g
De méme, un trait de graduation dans la gamme de 2 - 15 mN
(0,2 - 1,5 g) correspond à 1 mN (0,1 g).
L'appareil fonctionne de façon sûre à partir d'une force d'appui
de 2,5 mN (0,25 g).
Dispositif anti-skating
Sur cette platine tourne-disques, la force de poussée latérale
agissant sur tout bras de lecture est ajustée par un dispositif
anti-skating de précision

Mise en place du couvercle
Placez le couvercle dans les fentes des deux supports (3). C'est
lorsque les fentes se trouvent en-haut, à la verticale, qu'il est le
plus facile de mettre le couvercle en place et de le retirer.
Quand le couvercle est ouvert de la largeur d'une main, il se
bloque dans n'importe quelle position.

S'il est nécessaire de corriger le couple de décharge (élasticité
qui maintient le couvercle au-dessus de l'appareil, il suffit de
tourner les 2 vis qui se trouvent à l'arrière (Fig. 6)

Il est également possible de brancher la platine a la prise d'un
amplificateur équipé dans ce but.
Raccordement à l'amplificateur
Reliez le câble de pick-up équipé de fiches RCA (Cinch) à
l'entrée phono/magnét. de l'amplificateur (noir = canal droite,
blanc = canal gauche). Coincez ou vissez le câble isolé possédant
une cosse sous le dispositif de fixation marqué "GND" à
l'arrière de l'amplificateur.
Si l'amplificateur ne possède que des douilles DIN, il est néces-
saire d'utiliser l'adaptateur Dual, art. n° 262 483, vendu dans
le commerce spécialisé. Le câble unique doit dans ce cas égale-
ment être branché sur l'amplificateur
Il est toutefois préférable de demander au revendeur spécialisé
de monter sur la platine tourne-disques le câble de pick-up
Dual, art. n° 207 303
Maniement
Mise en service
L'appareil est enclenché en pressant la touche POWER (22).
Veuillez choisir la vitesse de 33 1/3 ou 45 T/min. qui correspond
au disque posé en utilisant le commutateur rotatif (10), relevez
la protection de l'aiguille et déverrouillez le bras de pick-up.
Veuillez observer que vos disques et l'aiguille de palpage sont
endommagés par les dépôts de poussière. En conséquence, nous
recommandons de nettoyer la poussière du disque avant de
placer le bras de pick-up dans le sillon de départ (par exemple
avec un chiffon antistatique, etc.).
1. Mise en marche automatique
Le système de positionnement du bras de lecture de l'appareil
est couplé 4 la vitesse de rotation du plateau.
Dans le cas d'une vitesse du plateau de 33 1/3 T/min., le bras
de pick-up descend dans le sillon de départ des disques longue
durée de 30 cm et de façon analogue, pour la vitesse de 45 T/
min. dans le sillon de départ des disques de 17 cm (simples).
La vitesse sélectionnée du plateau est affichée optiquement sur
l'affichage (17)
Pour commencer le fonctionnement, presser la touche START
(15). Le bras de pick-up pivote au-dessus du disque et descend
doucement l'aiguille de palpage dans le sillon de départ du
disque.
2. Mise en service manuelle
a) Presser la touche LIFT (13) (la flèche a est éclairée).
b) Amener le bras de pick-up à la main au-dessus de la position
souhaitée du disque.
c) Presser encore une fois la touche LIFT (13) (la flèche w s'al-
lume). Le bras de pick-up descend.
3. Le disque doit être passé ou joué encore une fois entièrement

5. Arrêt
Pressez la touche STOP (14). Le bras de pick-up revient sur le
support. L'appareil s'arrête.
6. Marche automatique continue
Enfoncer la touche CO (16). A la fin du disque, le bras de lec-
ture retourne au début du sillon. Le disque est répété jusqu'à
ce qu'on enfonce la touche STOP (14) ou qu'on désenclenche
la touche cO (16)
Remarque: Dans le cas de disques de diamètres variables, par
exemple disques de 25 cm, l'appareil doit être utilisé manuelle-
ment (voir ””2. Mise en service manuelle).
Après avoir passé le disque, indépendamment du fait que le
bras de pick-up soit placé manuellement sur le disque, ou que
l'appareil ait été mis en marche automatiquement, le retour du
bras de pick-up et l'arrêt interviennent automatiquement. Il est
recommandé
après
la
fin
du
disque
de
reverrouiller
le
bras
de
pick-up et de rabattre la protection de l'aiguille.
Lève-bras
La mise en marche automatique est subordonnée au lève-bras.
Si, par exemple, on enfonce la touche START (mise en marche)
(15) tandis que le symbole a situé au-dessus de la touche “Lift”
(13) est allumé, le bras de lecture se positionne au-dessus de
l'entrée du sillon du disque et reste dans cette position jus-
qu'à ce qu'on enfonce la touche “Lift” (13).
La vitesse d’abaissement du lève-bras se règle, sans palier, avec
la douille de réglage (5) (Fig. 3)
— = plus lentement
+= plus rapidement
La distance entre l'aiguille de lecture et le disque — le bras de
lecture étant relevé ( a allumé) — peut être réglée avec la vis
d’ajustage (6), sur une course d'environ 6 mm
Syntonisation sonore (pitch control)
A chaque vitesse de rotation du plateau (33 1/3 et 45 tr/mn),
on peut faire varier la hauteur du son de + 6 %. A cet effet, en-
foncer la touche PITCH (19) (PITCH s'allume, QUARTZ s'éteint)
et ajuster la hauteur du son en agissant à volonté sur les boutons
de réglage (18) et (20)
En position QUARTZ, la vitesse de rotation nominale choisie
et par conséquent la hauteur du son d'origine sont maintenues
avec la précision du quartz.
Les dessins stroboscopiques du bord du plateau sont balayés
par le faisceau lumineux d'une diode luminescente (21) (Fig.4),
avec la précision du quartz. En fonctionnement PITCH, l'éclairage
stroboscopique est éteint
Indication analogique opto-électronique
Par Un système analogique, ce dispositif indique aux deux
vitesses de rotation l'écart en pourcentage par rapport à la
hauteur du son d'origine.
Isolation acoustique réglable
Tunable acoustic isolators
Une des complications les plus fréquentes dans l'utilisation
d'un tournedisque résulte de vibrations d'origines les plus
diverses qui touchent le tournedisque et sont converties en
bruits parasites par la tête de lecture.
La nouvelle génération de tournedisques Dual est en consé-
quence équipée d'une isolation acoustique réglable (Fig. 10).
Un bruit peut résulter:
1. D'un bruit de pas: lorsque le tournedisque est disposé dans
un meuble qui se trouve sur un plancher à solives de bois
vibrant.
2. D'une contre-réaction acoustique: lorsque les ondes sonores
du haut-parleur diffusent directement sur le tournedisque
ou que ce dernier et les haut-parleurs sont disposés sur la
même étagère.
Les pieds réglables sont ajustés au milieu en usine. Vous pouvez
optimiser le réglage pour la suppression du bruit des pas en
tournant l'échelle graduée ou pour amortir la contre-réaction
acoustique.

Si vous avez des difficultés avec les parasites düs au bruit des
pas, tournez l'échelle graduée dans le sens des aiguilles d'une
montre dans la direction "+". Si les parasites dûs à la contre-
réaction acoustique sont prépondérants, tournez l'échelle
graduée dans le sens contraire à celui des aiguilles d'une
montre dans la direction ‘’—". Tournez les échelles graduées
des quatre pieds de la même valeur pour obtenir l'effet d'ab-
sorption recherché optimal.
Ajustage du point de pose du bras
Lorsqu'on actionne la touche START (15), l'aiguille de lecture
descend automatiquement dans le sillon d'entrée du disque. Si
l'aiguille se pose trop à l'intérieur ou à l'extérieur du disque, par
ex. avec une cellule montée ultérieurement, il est possible de
corriger le point de descente du diamant de lecture à l'aide de
la vis d'ajustage (8) (Fig. 7).
Le réglage est valable aussi bien pour les disques de 17 cm que
pour les disques de 30 cm.
Cellule et aiguille de lecture
Veuillez tenir compte également de la fiche technique jointe à
votre appareil.
Remplacement de la cellule
Vous pouvez dégager la cellule au complet du bras de lecture
en poussant la poignée du bras (12) vers l'arrière. Ce faisant,
maintenez la cellule car elle tombe dès que le système de ver-
rouillage est ouvert (Fig. 8).
La poignée du bras de lecture ne peut toutefois être poussée
vers l'arrière qu'après avoir enlevé la vis de retenue (Fig. 11/
am).
Pour la remettre en place, appliquez par le bas la cellule contre
la
téte
du
bras
de
lecture
de
maniére
que
les
deux
bords
avant soient au même niveau. Veillez à ce que la cellule soit bien
à plat contre la tête du bras de lecture avant de tirer la poignée
du bras vers l'avant pour la bloquer (Fig. 12). Revisser ensuite
éventuellement la vis de retenue (Fig. 11/(11)).
L'aiguille de lecture subit une usure naturelle à l'usage. Nous
vous recommandons donc de contrôler occasionellement son
état, au bout d'env. 300 heures de service pour les aiguilles à
diamant. Votre revendeur spécialisé s'en chargera de bonne
grâce et gratuitement. Les aiguilles usées et endommagées
(brisées) abiment les sillons et détruisent les disques. Si vous
remplacez l'aiguille, n'utilisez que le type d’aiguille recom-
mandé dans les caractéristiques techniques de la cellule. Les
imitations provoquent une baisse nettement audible de qualité
et une usure plus importante des disques. N'oubliez pas que le
support de l'aiguille porteur du diamant de lecture est très mince
pour des raisons techniques et est par conséquent sensible aux
chocs, aux heurts et à des contacts incontrôlés. Pour contrôler
l'aiguille de lecture chez un revendeur spécialisé, il suffit de la
retirer comme décrit ci-après.
Pour retirer la pointe de lecture, veuillez observer les instruc-
tions figurant sur la fiche technique séparée de la cellule de
votre appareil.

d'1/2”, veuillez procéder comme suit

4. Raccorder les connexions du porte-cellule aux broches de
la cellule. Les connexions sont marquées de couleurs dif-
férentes:

5. Lors du montage de la plaque de support avec la cellule en
place, observer les instructions figurant au chapitre ‘’Rem-
placement de la cellule’’.
6. Vissez-selon le poids total de la cellule — 1 ou 2 poids d'appoint
en forme de rondelle faisant partie des accessoires à l'arrière
du contrepoids du bras de pick-up (1).

Vissez la vis spéciale par son côté le plus étroit dans le
contrepoids (1). Vissez ensuite les poids d'appoint — avec la
partie biseautée vers l'extérieur — sur le côté le plus large de
la vis.
7. Rééquilibrer soigneusement le bras — comme décrit au
chapitre “Equilibrage du bras” (page 13) et sélectionner la
force d'appui et la force d'antiskating requises pour la cel-
lule en question.
Après montage de la cellule d'1/2 pouce, vérifier la position en
hauteur de la pointe de lecture dans la position Y du lève-bras
ainsi que la descente de la pointe dans le sillon d'entrée du
disque. Voir point ”Leve-bras” (page 14) et ‘’Ajustage du point
de descente du bras de lecture” (page 15).
Entretien et réparation
Tous les emplacements de graissage sont suffisamment lubri-
fiés. Dans des conditions normales, votre appareil fonctionnera
de façon irréprochable pendant des années. N'essayez pas de
rajouter vous-même de l'huile. Si des travaux d'entretien sont
nécessaires, portez votre platine chez votre revendeur spécialisé
ou demandez-lui l'adresse de l'atelier de service après-vente
agréé par Dual le plus proche. Veillez à ce que seules des pièces
de rechange originales de Dual soient utilisées.
Si l'appareil doit être expédié, veillez à ce qu'il soit emballé de
façon irréprochable, dans la mesure du possible dans l'emballage
d'origine.
Le plateau tourne-disques
Le plateau “fullsize” en aluminium profilé, équilibré, est logé
directement sur l'arbre du moteur et se cale automatiquement
lorsqu'on le met en place. Une fixation supplémentaire n'est
pas nécessaire.
Important: Enlever le plateau avant tout transport.
Transport ultérieur
Si vous voulez un jour transporter votre platine sur une longue
distance, il est recommandé de retirer le couvercle et le plateau.
Enlevez également le contrepoids. Revissez les 3 vis qui assurent
la sécurité pendant le transport.
Veillez à ce que le bras de lecture soit bien verrouillé et à ce
que la protection de l'aiguille soit bien rabattue vers le bas.
Attention! Après chaque transport, faire démarrer l'appareil, le
bras de lecture étant verrouillé, afin que le système automatique
d'arrêt s’ajuste de lui-même
Pour déclencher la fonction Start (mise en marche), il faut
appuyer tout d'abord sur la touche POWER (22) et ensuite
sur la touche START (15) (voir chapitre ‘Mise en service et
commande)
Sécurité électrique
Cet appareil est conforme aux règlements internationaux de sé-
curité pour appareils radio et appareils analogues (IEC 65).

Voorbereiding
Uitpakken en opstellen
Neem het apparaat en alle toebehoren uit de verpakking.
Verwijder de drie met een rode cirkel gemarkeerde transport-
beveiligingsschroeven (Fig. 1). Bewaar evenwel de verpakking
voor een eventueel later transport
Nu zet u het plateau voorzichtig op de motor-as.
Steek de as van het kontra-gewicht achter in de toonarm. Let
er daarbij op, dat de V-vormige uitsparing naar onder wijst. Zie
Fig. 2.
De afstemming van het kontra-gewicht, het balanceren van de
toonarm en de instellingen van de naaldkracht en de dwarskracht
kompensatie worden hierna beschreven.
De grootte van de naaldkracht voor het reeds gemonteerde
aftastsysteem kunt u vernemen van het separaat bijgepakte
blad met technische gegevens van het aftastsysteem
Aftastsysteem
Als het apparaat zonder aftastsysteem geleverd is, leest u dan
eerst het hoofdstuk “inbouw van een 1/2 inch element” op
pagina 18 door.
Afstemmen van de afstembare Tuning Antiresonator
Uw Dual platenspeler is uitgerust met een afstembaar toonarm-
contragewicht. Hierdoor heeft u de mogelijkheid, de toonarm
optimaal aan het toegepaste aftastsysteem aan te passen (Fig. 5).
Met deze inrichting kunnen zowel de Dual ULM aftastsystemen als
andere gangbare aftastsystemen met een eigengewicht van 2 tot
10 gram optimaal worden aangepast. Voor het gemonteerde
ULM aftastsysteem alsmede andere aftastsystemen kunt u de
in te stellen waarde vinden in afgebeeld diagram. In de tabel
vindt u de meest voorkomende aftastsystemen met hun instel-
ling op de Tuning Antiresonator.
U kiest op de horizontale schaal het eigengewicht van het sy-
steem, waarna u recht naar boven gaat, todat u de lijn kruist
voor de compliance. Het gevonden punt projecteert u op de
vertikale schaal, waar u de in te stellen waarde afleest voor de
afstemming van het contragewicht. Het instellen van de gevonden
waarde op het contragewicht gebeurt door verdraaien met de klok
mee van de afstem-ring tot de juiste waarde bij de indicatie staat.

Opmerking Het toonarm-contragewicht is voor transport tegen
beschadiging te beveiligen, door de instelling binnen het bereik
van de markering tot de aanslag te draaien.

Toonarm balancering (met ingebouwd aftastsysteem)
Voorbereiding
1. Sluit de platenspeler op de netspanning aan.
2. Netschakelaar (22) indrukken (POWER).
3. Boven de toets LIFT (13) moet de pijl w oplichten, in dat
geval de LIFT-toets niet bedienen.
4. Druk de toets START (15), waarbij de toonarm vergrendeld
blijft.
5. Schakel de toets POWER (22) weer uit.
Balanceren
1. Naaldkracht instelling (4) op “0” zetten, wijzer voor de
dwarskracht kompensatie (7) naar links draaien.
. Toonarm ontgrendelen en naar binnen bewegen.
Voor een grove balancering schroef (2) losdraaien en het
contragewicht (1) zo verschuiven, dat de toonarm vrijwel in
balans is. Daarna schroef (2) weer vastzetten.
4. Voor het exakte balanceren wordt de voorste ring van het
contragewicht verdraaid. '
De toonarm is korrekt gebalanceerd, wanneer deze vrij zweeft
en deze positie weer inneemt, als de toonarm in een andere
positie wordt gedrukt

Instellen van de naaldkracht
leder aftastsysteem heeft een bepaalde naaldkracht nodig voor
een optimale weergave. De naaldkracht voor het bijgeleverde
aftastsysteem vindt u op de bijlage met technische gegevens
van het aftastsysteem. Is de toonarm eenmaal exact gebalan-
ceerd, dan wordt door verdraaien van de schaal voor de naald-
kracht (4) de optimale naaldkracht ingesteld. De naaldkracht is
continu regelbaar van 0 tot 20 mN (0 - 2 p) waarbij de aan-
duiding op de schaal

aangeeft. In analogie betekent een deelstreep op de schaal

De platenspeler werkt vanaf 2,5 mN (0,25 p) naaldkracht be-
drijfszeker.
Dwarskracht kompensatie inrichting
De op iedere toonarm uitgeoefende dwarskracht wordt in uw
platenspeler door de nauwkeurige kompensatie-inrichting
Anti Skating gekorrigeerd.
Voor de momenteel gebruikelijke naaldpunt afrondingen zijn
afzonderlijke instelschalen aangebracht, waarbij de volgende
symbolen voor de diverse naaldafrondingen werden gebruikt:
O instelling voor sferische, radiale of ronde naaldpunten

De ingestelde waarde voor de dwarskracht kompensatie komt

Het plaatsen van de afdekkap
U plaatst de afdekkap in de sleuven van de beide houders voor

Het
plaatsen

uitnemen

kelijk, wanneer de sleuven recht naar boven staan.
Is de afdekkap ongeveer op handbreedte geopend, dan blijft
deze reeds in deze stand open staan.
Is een korrektie nodig van de veerkracht, die de kap boven de
platenspeler
houdt,
dan
kan
dat
geschieden,
door
de
beide
van
achter toegangkelijke schroeven te verdraaien. Zie Fig. 6

Aansluiten van de netspanning
De platenspeler is, overeenkomstig de opgave op het type-plaatje
geschikt voor een netspanning van 220 — 240 Volt of een span-
ning van 110 — 120 Volt; voor 50 en voor 60 Hertz
Aanpassing van de platenspeler aan de andere netspanning is
ten ene male voorbehouden aan de handelaar of aan de tech-
nische dienst van de importeur.

Aansluiten aan de versterker
Verbind het met RCA- (Cinch-) stekers uitgeruste verbindings-
snoer met de ingang Phono-Magnet van de versterker (zwart =
rechter kanaal, wit = linker kanaal). De met een kabelschoen
uitgeruste losse leiding klemt of schroeft u onder de met "GND"
gekenmerkte klemverbinding op de achterzijde van de versterker.
Is uw versterker uitgerust met DIN-ingangsbussen, dan is een
adapter nodig (Dual art.nr. 262 483), die leverbaar is in de
vakhandel. Het losse snoer moet ook in dit geval aan uw ver-
sterker worden aangesloten
Beter is het, wanneer uw platenspeler wordt voorzien van
aansluitsnoer art.nr. 207 303.
De bediening
In gebruik nemen
Door het indrukken van de toets POWER (22) wordt het ap-
paraat ingeschakeld. Kies met de draaiknop (10) het gewenste
toerental 33 1/3 of 45 t/min, klap het naaldbeschermkapje
omhoog en ontgrendel de toonarm.
Houdt er rekening mee, dat grammofoonplaten en aftastnaald
door stofinvloeden blijvend beschadigd kunnen worden. Daarom
verdient het aanbeveling de grammofoonplaat met een speciale
borstel of dergelijke te reinigen.
1. Automatische start
Het toonarm-opzetpunt van deze platenspeler is gekoppeld
aan het ingestelde toerental.
Bij 33 1/3 t/min wordt de naald in de inloopgroef van een
30-cm plaat gezet, bij 45 t/min in die van een 17-cm grammo-
foonplaat. Het gekozen toerental wordt op het indicatiedisplay
(17) optisch aangegeven.
Om de startfunctie te laten beginnen, de toets START (15) in-
drukken. De toonarm beweegt zich nu boven de inloopgroef
van de grammofoonplaat en laat de naald behoedzaam in de
groef zakken.
2. Bediening met de hand
a) Toets LIFT (13) indrukken (pijl a licht op).
b) Beweeg de toonarm met de hand boven de gewenste plaats
van de grammofoonplaat.
c) Toets LIFT (13) nogmaals indrukken (pijl w licht op). De
naald zakt op de plaat.
3. Herhalen van een plaat
Als u een plaat herhaald wilt hebben of nog een keer van het
begin af wilt horen, druk dan toets START (15) in.
4. Spel-onderbreking (Pauze)
Druk de toets LIFT (13) in. De toonarm verheft zich boven
de grammofoonplaat. Bij een herhaalde bediening daalt de
toonarm opnieuw op de grammofoonplaat
De laatst beluisterde maten van de muziekweergave worden
herhaald.
5. Uitschakelen
Toets STOP (14) indrukken. De toonarm keert nu terug op de
steun en het apparaat schakelt automatisch uit.
6. Automatische herhaling
Bij bediening van toets CO (16) wordt de toonarm na afspelen
van een grammofoonplaat opnieuw in de aanloopgroef van de
grammofoonplaat geplaatst. Deze herhaling vindt on-onder-
broken plaats, totdat de toets STOP (14) wordt ingedrukt, of
wanneer de toets (16) weer wordt gelost
Opmerking: Grammofoonplaten met een afwijkende diameter,
bijv. oude 25-cm grammofoonplaten, moeten met de hand
worden opgezet (Zie “2, Bediening met de hand”).
Aan het einde van de plaat gaat de arm altijd terug naar de
toonarmsteun, onafhankelijk ervan, of de platenspeler auto-
matisch of met de hand gestart is. Het is aan te bevelen om na
gebruik de toonarm te vergrendelen en het naaldbeschermkapje
naar beneden te klappen.
Toonarmlift
De toonarmlift is niet gekoppeld aan de opzet-automaat.
Wanneer de toets START (15) wordt bediend, terwijl de lift
omhoog staat, dan beweegt de toonarm zich naar de grammo-
foonplaat en blijft daar, totdat de lift-toets (13) wordt inge-
drukt. De verlichting boven de lift-toets dooft aan.
De lift-daalsnelheid is met de huls (5) stappenloos regelbaar.

Toonhoogte afstemming (pitch control)
Elk van de twee toerentallen kan met ca 6 procent naar beneden
en naar boven worden gevarieerd. Daartoe wordt de toets

PITCH (19) ingedrukt (aanduiding PITCH licht op, QUARTZ
dooft). Met de draairegelaars (18) en (20) worden ge gewenste
toonhoogten ingesteld.
Wordt PITCH niet gebruikt (aanduiding QUARTZ verlicht)
wordt automatisch het nominale toerental 33 1/3 of 45 t.p.m.

Eén der meest voorkomende moeilijkheden bij gebruik van een
platenspeler ontstaat door trillingen van de meest uiteenlopende
oorsprongen, die op de platenspeler worden overgebracht en
door het aftastsysteem in storende bijgeluiden worden omge-
zet
De nieuwe generatie Dual platenspelers is daarom uitgerust
met instelbare trillingsdempers (Fig. 10)
Trillingen kunnen voorkomen in de vorm van:
1. Trillingen door lopen: als de platenspeler is ondergebracht
in een meubel, dat op een verende houten vloer staat.
2. Akoestische terugkoppeling: Als de geluidsgolven direkt
door de platenspeler worden opgevangen of als de platen-
speler en luidsprekerbox op dezelfde plank zijn opgesteld.
Van fabriekswege zijn de afstembare voeten op het gemiddelde
ingesteld. Door de ring met schaalverdeling te verdraaien kan
de afstelling meer specifiek voor trilling door lopen of akoestische
terugkoppeling worden gemaakt
Als u problemen heeft met trillingen, ontstaan door lopen,
draai dan de ring met de wijzers van de klok mee naar "+".
Overheersen storingen, die veroorzaakt worden door akoestische
terugkoppeling, dan moet de ring tegen de wijzers van de klok
in naar “— worden gedraaid. Draai de ringen van alle vier de
voeten op dezelfde waarde; dan worden trillingen het best
geabsorbeerd.
Justeren van het toonarm opzetpunt
Na bediening van de toets START (15) daalt de aftastnaald
zelfstandig in de aanloopgroef van de grammofoonplaat. Is het
opzetpunt na vervangen van het aftastsysteem door een ander
niet langer correct, d.w.z. de naaldpunt komt te ver op de
plaat, of zakt er juist naast, dan is het opzetpunt te justeren
met instelschroef (8) (Fig. 7). De instelling werkt zowel voor
17 cm als voor 30 cm grammofoonplaten.
Aftastsysteem en aftastnaald
Gegevens van het aftastsysteem en de naald zijn separaat in
de verpakking bijgevoegd,
Uitwisselen van het aftastsysteem
Het komplete aftastsysteem is van de toonarm te verwijderen,
door de toonarm handgreep naar achteren te bewegen. Behoed
evenwel het aftastsysteem voor vallen door het vast te houden
wanneer de handgreep naar achteren wordt bewogen (Fig. 8).
De toonarm-handgreep kan slechts naar achteren worden be-
wogen, wanneer eerst beveiligingsschroef (11) is verwijderd
(Fig. 11)
Voor het opnieuw aanbrengen van het aftastsysteem drukt u
het van onder tegen de toonarm-kop, waarbij de beide voor-
zijden parallel liggen. Let er op, dat het aftastsysteem beslist
strak tegen de toonarm-kop ligt, voor u de vergrendeling naar
voren beweegt. Zie Fig. 12
Nadien kunt u de beveiligingsschroef (Fig. 11/(11)) opnieuw in-
schroeven,
Aftastnaald
De aftastnaald is door het gebruik onderhevig aan een natuur-
lijke slijtage. Wij bevelen daarom een geregelde controle van de
aftastnaald aan, in het geval van diamant-aftastnaalden na ca.
300 uren van gebruik. Uw vak-handelaar zal dat gaarne kosten-

loos voor u doen, Afgesleten of beschadigde naaldpunten tasten
de modulatie in de grammofoonplaten-groef aan en zullen in
het algemeen de grammofoonplaat ongeschikt maken voor ver-
der gebruik. Wilt u de aftastnaald vervangen, ziet u er dan op
toe, dat alleen het op de bijlage vermelde naaldtype ter ver-
vanging wordt geplaatst. Imitatie-vervangingsnaalden geven een
hoorbaar kwaliteitsverlies en een verhoogde slijtage van de
grammofoonplaat
Denkt u er altijd aan, dat de naalddrager met de aftastnaald
door zijn noodzakelijke opbouw zeer breekbaar is en derhalve
zeer gevoelig voor elke ongecontroleerde beweging. De naald-
punt kan hierdoor breken of splinteren, meestal echter zal de
naalddrager (een dun maar hol buisje) verbuigen of in zijn ge-
heel afbreken
Voor de verwijdering van de aftastnaald verwijzen wij u naar
de separate gegevens voor het aftastsysteem.
Inbouw van een aftastsysteem met 1/2-inch
bevestigingsnorm
Afhankelijk van de uitvoering wordt niet bij alle apparaten het
materiaal voor de montage van een ander dan het originele af-
tastsysteem (1/2 inch) standaard meegeleverd.
Uw Dual platenspeler kent zijn uitstekende aftast-eigenschappen
door vooral de combinatie van de toonarm met het ultra licht-
gewicht aftastsysteem. Daarbuiten zijn de kwaliteiten van de
toonarm dermate hoog, dat elk ander te monteren systeem on-
der optimale omstandigheden zal kunnen werken. Onafhankelijk
van het eigengewicht van het aftastsysteem.
Mocht u een aftastsysteem willen monteren, uitgevoerd volgens
de 1/2-inch standaard, dan handelt u als volgt:
1) Verwijder — indien aanwezig — de beveiligingsschroef
(Fig. 11/(11).
2) Los het aftastsysteem, als beschreven in hoofdstuk „Uitwis-
selen van het aftastsysteem” en verwijder deze van de toon-
arm-kop
Bevestig het 1/2-inch element met de montage toebehoren
van de platenspeler aan de houder. De montage is korrekt,
wanneer de aftastnaald — van boven gezien — in de V-vor-
mige uitsparing van de inbouw-mal zichtbaar is. Van de
zijkant bekeken moet de naald binnen de rechthoekige
uitsparing vallen (Fig. 9)
4) De aansluitingen van de aansluitplaat verbindt u met de
aansluitingen op het aftastsysteem. Deze zijn eventueel met
kleuren gecodeerd:
rood R rechter kanaal
groen RG rechter kanaal massa
blauw GL linker kanaal massa
wit L linker kanaal
5) Let bij het plaatsen van de systeemhouder met gemonteerd
aftastsysteem op de opmerkingen, gemaakt in hoofdstuk
„Uitwisselen van het aftastsysteem"".
U schroeft — afhankelijk van het totaal-gewicht van het af-
tastsysteem — een of twee extra-gewichtjes op de achter-
zijde van het toonarm-balanceergewicht (1), als aangegeven
in onderstaande tabel. De extra gewichtjes bevinden zich bij
de toebehoren van het apparaat.

Draai het dunnere schroefdraad van de speciaal-schroef achter
in het balans-gewicht. Op het dikkere schroefdraad draait u
— met de schuine zijde naar achter — de bedoelde extra
gewichtjes
7) Balanceert u de toonarm zoals beschreven in hoofdstuk
‘’Uitbalanceren van de toonarm” en stel de voor het ge-
plaatste aftastsysteem noodzakelijke naaldkracht en dwars-
kracht kompensatie in.
Na beëindiging van de montage van het aftastsysteem verdient
het aanbeveling na te zien of de toonarm-lifthoogte in de
stand a alsmede het opzetpunt van de aftastnaald in de aanloop-
groef van de grammofoonplaat nog steeds correct is. Zie hoofd-
stuk “Toonarmlift” op pagina 17 en “Instellen van het opzet-
punt’ op pagina 18.

Service
Alle smeerpunten zijn voldoende voorzien van olie. Onder nor-
male omstandigheden zal de platenspeler daardoor jarenlang
onberispelijk blijven werken. Probeer in geen geval zelf bepaalde
storingen op te heffen door het toevoegen van olie; dit zal door-
gaans de oorzaak van de storing niet opheffen. Uw handelaar

Het plateau
De dynamisch gebalanceerde full-size alu-profiel plateau ligt
rechtstreeks op de motor-as en wordt bij het opleggen auto-
matisch gefixeerd. Een nadere beveiliging is niet nodig.
Belangrijk: Voor elk transport dient het plateau te worden ver-
wijderd van de motor-as.
Het vervoeren van de platenspeler
Wanneer u later het apparaat over een grotere afstand wilt ver-
voeren, is het sterk aan te bevelen de afdekkap en het plateau
van het apparaat af te nemen. Draai de transport beveiligings-
schroeven mede in.
Let u er op, dat de toonarm vergrendeld is en de naaldbescher-
ming naar beneden geklapt.

Preparación
Desembalado y montaje
Saque el aparato y todos los accesorios del embalaje. Quite los
tres tornillos de transporte marcados cada uno con un disco
rojo (Fig. 1). Conserve el embalaje original completo para un
eventual transporte posterior
Ahora coloque con cuidado el plato tocadiscos sobre el eje del motor.
Enchufe el perno del contrapeso equilibrador en el extremo
posterior del brazo fonocaptor. Preste atención a que la ranura
en forma de V del eje esté mirando hacia abajo (Fig. 2)
El ajuste del antirresonador “Tuning”, el equilibrado del brazo
fonocaptor así como los ajustes de la fuerza de apoyo y antiska-
ting se describen a continuación
Vea en la hoja de datos separada la fuerza de apoyo que debe
ajustar para el sistema fonocaptor montado ya en el aparato.
Sistema fonocaptor
Para el caso de que usted haya comprado el aparato sin fono-
captor, le rogamos que primeramente tenga en cuenta las
indicaciones hechas en el apartado “Montaje de un fonocap-
tor de 1/2 pulgada”, en la página 22
Ajuste del antirresonador “Tuning”
Su tocadiscos Dual posee un antirresonador “Tuning” que
permite adaptar el brazo fonocaptor de manera óptima al
sistema de cápsula empleado (Fig. 5). Con ayuda de este dispositivo
es posible conseguir la adaptación óptima tanto con cápsulas
Dual ULM, como también con cápsulas usuales de media
pulgada. Para la cápsula ULM incorporada en fábrica, así
como para algunas de las cápsulas fonocaptoras más frecuentes,
tome el valor a ajustar de la tabla siguiente.
Para los sistemas fonocaptores no citados en la tabla, puede
averiguar el valor a partir del diagrama.
A tal fin deberá elegir en el eje horizontal el peso propio del
fonocaptor, subir verticalmente desde el valor anterior hasta al-
canzar la linea correspondiente de la elásticidad (“compliance”)
y proyectar este punto sobre el eje vertical, en el que obtendrá
el valor de ajuste óptimo del antirresonador tipo “tuning”.
Para el ajuste del antirresonador deberá girar la escala en senti-
do de las manecillas del reloj hasta que aparezca el valor deseado
encima de la muesca (Fig. 5). Sujete a tal fin la espiga con una
mano y gire la escala con la otra
¡Atención! El antirresonador estará protegido para el transporte
cuando haya girado el selector de amortiguación hasta su tope
en el rango de la marca cuneiforme.

Preparación
1. Conecte usted el tocadiscos a la red.
2. Apriete usted el interruptor de la red POWER (22)
3. A través de la tecla LIFT (13) debería de estar iluminada la
flecha, de no ser así apretar la tecla.
4. Apriete usted una vez la tecla START (15), estando retenido
el brazo del fonocaptor sobre su apoyo.
5. Desconnecte de nuevo el interruptor de la red POWER (22)
Equilibrado
1. Poner en "0" la fuerza de apoyo (4) y girar a la izquierda
el indicador del antiskating (7).
2. Desenclavar el brazo del fonocaptor y girarlo hacia adentro.
3. Pararel equilibrado aproximado, aflojar el tornillo (2) e ir
desplazando el peso (1) hasta que el brazo del fonocaptor
quede equilibrado de una forma aproximada. Después volver
a apretar el tornillo (2).
4. Para el equilibrado de precisión, utilizar la rueda moleteada
de la parte anterior del peso.
El brazo del fonocaptor estará bien equilibrado cuando quede
libremente suspendido y recupere su posición cuando se le
empuja hacia arriba hacia arriba o hacia abajo
Ajuste de la fuerza de apoyo
Cada cápsula requiere una fuerza de apoyo determinada, con la
cual se consigue la reproducción óptima. Este dato va indicado
en la hoja de características adjunta para la cápsula incorporada.
Estando el brazo fonocaptor equilibrado a precisión, la fuerza
de apoyo necesaria para la cápsula utilizada se ajusta girando la
escala de la fuerza de apoyo (4). La fuerza de apoyo puede ser
ajustada en forma continua entre los O y 20 mN (0 - 2 p),
siendo así que las cifras en la escala significan lo siguiente.
1 = 10mN 4 1p
2 20mN 4 2p
En sentido anélogo, cada raya divisoria en la zona desde 2 hasta
15 mN (0,2- 1,5 p) significará 1 mN (0,1 p).
A partir de 2,5 mN (0,25 p) de fuerza de apoyo, el aparato fun-
ciona con toda seguridad.

Dispositivo antiskating
La fuerza skating que actua sobre todo brazo fonocaptor se
ajusta, en su tocadiscos, mediante un dispositivo de precisión
antiskating.
Para los tipos de aguja corrientes de hoy dia, o normalizadas,
se han previsto escalas de ajuste separadas, según los simbolos
que llevan impresos:

Montaje de la tapa protectora
Coloque la tapa protectora en las ranuras de los dos soportes
de tapa (3). La tapa se coloca y se saca más facilmente si las
ranuras en los soportes de la misma están colocadas vertical-
mente hacia arriba.
Si la tapa protectora está levantada aproximadamente un ancho
de mano, se queda sujeta en cualquier postura a mayor altura.
En caso de que sea necesaria la corrección del momento de
descarga (fuerza de muelle que sostiene la tapa por encima de
la consola), ésta se puede efectuar girando los dos tornillos ac-
cesibles por detras (Fig. 6)

Conexión a la red de tensión alterna
El tocadiscos está ajustado, tal y como indican los datos de la
placa de características, para una tensión de red de 220 — 240 V/
50 y 60 Hz 6 110 — 120 V/50 y 60 Hz.
La modificación de la tensión de red queda reservada por prin-
cipio al comercio especializado o a un taller autorizado del
servicio técnico Dual.
El aparato puede ser conectado también al enchufe de un
amplificador correspondientemente equipado.
Conexión al amplificador
Conecte Vd. el cable fonocaptor equipado con clavija RCA-
(Cinch) a la entrada Phono-Magnet del amplificador (negro = ca-
nal derecho, blanco = canal izquierdo). Cada uno de los con-
ductores equipados con terminales deberá Vd. fijarlos por
presión o atornillados al dispositivo de sujeción situado en la
parte posterior del aparato.
Si su amplificador tiene solamente hembrillas DIN, requerirá
usted el adaptador Dual NO, de Art. 262 483, que puede ad-
quirirse a través del comercio del ramo, En tal caso el conductor
individual deberá conectarse también al amplificador.
Sin embargo, es mejor que encargue a su comercio del ramo la
instalación del cable de fonocaptor Dual, NO de Art. 207 303,
en su tocadiscos.
Manejo
Puesta en servicio
El aparato se conecta apretando la tecla POWER (22). Mediante
la tecla giratoria (10) elija usted el número de revoluciones
33 1/3 o el 45 del plato, según se requiera de acuerdo con el
disco que vaya a poner, gire hacia arriba la protección de la
aguja y desenclave usted el brazo del fonocaptor.
Le rogamos que tenga en cuenta que el polvo es perjudicial
para sus discos y para la aguja palpadora. Por dicho motivo, le
recomendamos que limpie de polvo el disco antes de colocar el
brazo fonocaptor en el surco de entrada del disco (emplee,
por ejemplo, un paño antiestético, etc.).
1. Arranque automático
El automatismo de descenso del brazo del fonocaptor está
acoplado con la velocidad de rotación del plato giradiscos.

A 33 1/3 revol/min del plato portadiscos, el brazo fonocap-
tor se posa sobre el surco de entrada de los discos de 30 cm, y,
a 45 revol/min del plato portadiscos, el brazo fonocaptor se
posa sobre el surco de entrada de los discos de 17 cm (single)
El número de revoluciones elegido del plato portadiscos se
indica en el display (17).
Para iniciar la funcidn de arranque, apretar la tecla START (15)
El brazo fonocaptor se posiciona sobre el disco y posa
cuidadosamente la aguja palpadora en el surco de entrada del
disco.
2. Puesta en servicio manual
a) Apretar la tecla LIFT (13) (la flecha a está iluminada)
b) Lleve usted con la mano el brazo fonocaptor hasta el punto
que desee del disco
c) Apretar de nuevo la tecla LIFT (13) (la flecha w se enciende)
El brazo fonocaptor desciende.
3. Se quiere repetir el disco o pasarlo otra vez, desde el principio
Apriete usted la tecla START (15)
4. Interrupción de la marcha (pausa)
Apriete usted la tecla LIFT (13). El brazo del fonocaptor se
eleva. Al apretar de nuevo, el brazo del fonocaptor desciende

5. Desconexión

25 cm, el aparato se debe manejar a mano (ver "2, Puesta en

Después

desconexión

efecto

máticamente,

independencia
de

el
brazo
fonocaptor

aconseja
que
después
de
usar
el
aparato,
se
enclave
de
nuevo
el
brazo
fonocaptor
y
se
gire
hacia
abajo
la
protección
de
la
aguja.
Dispositivo elevador del brazo del fonocaptor
Este
dispositivo
está
funcionalmente
superpuesto
al
automatiso
de
arranque.
Si,
mientras
brilla
el
símbolo
que
hay
sobre
la
tecla
(13),
se
aprieta,
por
ejemplo,
la
tecla
START
(15),
el
brazo
del
fonocaptor
pasa
a
situarse
por
encima
de
los
surcos
de
entrada
del
disco,
y
se
mantiene
en
esta
posición
hasta
que

Tunable acoustic isolators
Una de las complicaciones mås frecuentes en el funcionamiento
de los tocadiscos se deriva de trepidaciones o sacudidas de
origen diverso, que inciden en el tocadiscos y son transforma-
das en ruídos perturbadores por el fonocaptor.
Por dicho motivo, la nueva generacion de tocadiscos Dual va
equipada de un aislamiento ajustable contra influencias pertur-
badoras (Fig. 10)
Estas influencias pueden originarse por
1. las pisadas: cuando el tocadiscos va colocado en un mueble
que descansa sobre un suelo vibrante de tablas delgadas de
madera;
2. reacoplamiento acústico: cuando las ondas sonoras del alta-
voz se proyectan directamente sobre el tocadiscos o cuando
el tocadiscos y el altavoz están colocados en el mismo estante.
Las patas se ajustan en fábrica en la posición central. Girando
la escala anular, puede usted optimizar el ajuste para supresión
de los efectos de las pisadas o para atenuar el reacoplamiento o
reacción acústica.
Si tiene usted problemas con perturbaciones acústicas debidas
a las pisadas, gire la escala anular en el sentido de las agujas del
reloj "+". Si predominan las perturbaciones por reacoplamiento
acústico, gire usted la escala anular en sentido contrario, o sea,
"—" | Gire usted las escalas anulares en la misma medida en las
cuatro patas, con lo que alcanzará la absorción óptima deseada.
Ajuste del punto de descenso del brazo
Al accionarse la tecla START (15), la aguja desciente automáti-
camente en el surco de entrada del disco. Si después de haber
montado ulteriormente otra cápsula dicha aguja descendiera en
un punto demasiado interior o exterior del disco, esto se podrá
corregir por medio del tornillo de ajuste (8) del punto de
descenso de la aguja (Fig. 7)
El ajuste tiene efecto tanto para los discos de 17 cm como
también para los de 30 cm de diámetro
Sistema fonocaptor y aguja
Por favor, preste atención también a la hoja de datos adjunta al
aparato.
Cambio de la cápsula
Puede separar la cápsula completa del brazo presionando el asa
del brazo hacia atrás. Sujete la cápsula con la mano durante esta
operación, ya que caerá al abrir el enclavamiento (Fig. 8).
El asa del brazo sólo puede ser presionada hacia atras si ha
desenroscado antes el tornillo de seguridad (11) (Fig. 11).
Para volver a colocar la cápsula deberá apoyarla desde abajo en
la cabeza de tal forma que se unan ambos cantos anteriores.
Tenga cuidado en que la cápsula se encuentre completamente
plana en la cabeza antes de enclavarla corriendo el asa del
brazo
hacia
adelante
(Fig.
12).
Enrosque
después
nuevamente
el tornillo de seguridad (Fig. 11/(11)).
Aguja
La
aguja
está
sujeta
a
desgaste
natural
durante
la
reproducción.
Por
eso
recomendamos
un
control
oportuno,
que
con
agujas
de
diamante
será
necesario
por
primera
vez
después
de
umas
300
horas
de
reproducción.
Su
comerciante
del
ramo
realizará
este
control
sin
costo
alguno,
Las
agujas
con
desgaste
excesivo
o
dañadas
(astilladas)
deforman
la
modulación
del
surco
y
dañan
los
discos.
En
caso
de
recambio,
utilice
únicamente
el
tipo
de
aguja
indicado
en
los
datos
técnicos
de
la
cápsula.
Agujas
de
imitación
ocasionan
perdidas
de calidad
perceptibles
y
excesivo
desgaste
del
disco.
Recuerde
que
el
portaagujas,
con
la
aguja
de
diamante,
debido
a
sus
características
físicas,
es
de talla
fina
y
por
ello
muy
sensible
frente
a
choques,
golpes
y
roces
incon-
trolados.
Para desmontar la aguja deberá consultar las instrucciones de la
hoja separada adjunta referente a la cápsula, que se incluye en
su aparato.

Montaje de una cápsula con dispositivo
de fijación de 1/2 pulgada
Según
la
versión
del
suministro,
los
accesorios
de
montaje
para
sistemas
fonocaptores
de
1/2
pulgada
pueden
ser
considerados
accesorios especiales no adjuntados de serie al aparato.
Su
tocadiscos
Dual
desarrolla
las
extraordinarias
propiedades
fonocaptoras
en
conexión
con
la
cápsula
extraordinariamente
liviana
ULM
(Ultra
low
mass).
Al
mismo
tiempo
las
cualidades
del
brazo
fonocaptor
son
tan
excelentes
que
también
las
cápsulas
bastante más pesadas de 1/2" pueden trabajar bajo condiciones
óptimas.
En
caso
de
que
Vd.
quisiera
incorporar
un
sistema
fonocaptor
según
standard
de
fijación
de
1/2”,
proceda
como
sigue.
1) Separe el tornillo de seguridad, si existe (Fig. 11/(11)).
2) Desmonte la cápsula de la cabeza según se describe en el
capitulo “Cambio de la cápsula”.
3) Fije usted a la placa sustentadora el sistem de fonocaptor de
1/2 inch, mediante los accesorios de montaje del tocadiscos.
El montaje será correcto si la aguja palpadora esta — mirada
desde arriba — en la escotadura en forma de V existente en
la plantilla de montaje del sistema. Mirando por el costado,
la aguja debe encontrarse en el área de la escotadura de
forma rectangular (Fig. 9).
4) Conecte las tomas de la placa de conexiones con las clavijas
de la cápsula. Las tomas estan identificadas por un código
de colores:

5) Tenga en cuenta las observaciones indicadas en el capitulo
“Cambio de la cápsula” al montar la placa-soporte con la
cápsula instalada.
6) Rosque — según el peso total del sistema fonocaptor — 1 o 2
de los pesos adicionales que se encuentran juntos con los ac-

7) Proceda ahora con todo cuidado al equilibrio del brazo, tal
como se describe en el apartado "Equilibrio del brazo” y
ajuste los valores requeridos de fuerza de apoyo y compen-
sación del empuje lateral para la cápsula utilizada.
Después del montaje de la cápsula de 1/2 pulgada compruebe
la
altura
de
la
aguja
sobre
el
disco
con
el
dispositivo
de
elevación/
descenso
del
brazo
en
posición
a
,
así
como
el
descenso
de
la
aguja
en
el
surco
de
entrada
del
disco.

Servicio
Todos los puntos de fricción del tocadiscos han sido lubrifica-
dos convenientemente con aceite. En condiciones de funciona-
miento normales, esto será suficiente para que su aparato fun-
cione correctamente durante años. No intente lubricar Vd.
ninguna pieza. Si su aparato precisase de alguna operación de
mantenimiento, llevelo a su comerciante del ramo o pregunte
a este la dirección del servicio Dual autorizado más próximo.
Vuelva a atornillar los tres tornillos de transporte.
Preste atención a que el brazo fonocaptor este apestillado y
que el protector de la aguja este plegado hacia abajo.
En caso de que desee facturar el aparato, cuide de que sea embalado
de forma impecable, a ser posible utilizando el embalaje original.
El plato giradiscos
El plato giradiscos, equilibrado, de “fullsize” y perfil de alu-
minio, descansa directamente sobre el eje del motor y queda
automáticamente fijado al montarlo. No se requieren seguros
adicionales,
Importante: Cuando se vaya a transportar el tocadiscos, quitar
previamente el plato giradiscos.
Transporte posterior
Si más adelante desea Vd. transportar el aparato durante un
trayecto largo, es de recomendar quitar plato y tapa protectora
del tocadiscos. El contrapeso equilibrador tiene que se quitado.
De cualquier forma debe prestar atención a que sólo se utilicen
repuestos Dual originales.
De tener que remitir el aparato, procure embalarlo conveniente-
mente, a ser posible en el embalaje original.
Atención: Para ajustar automati ente el dispositivo automá-
tico de paro después de cada transporte, se deberá poner una vez
en marcha el tocadiscos estando el brazo enclavado en su apoyo.
Para iniciar la función de puesta en marcha se oprimiran las
teclas POWER (22) y START (15) en este orden indicado
(véase apartado “Puesta en marcha y manejo”).

Förberedelse
Uppackning och montering
Ta ut apparaten och alla tillbehör ur förpackningen. Ta bort de
tre transportskruvarna, som är markerade med röda skivor
(Fig. 1). Behåll originalförpackningen och de tre transportskru-
varna vid transport av skivspelaren.
Nu placeras skivtallriken försiktigt på motoraxeln.
