1 Allgemeine Gebrauchsinformationen
Der vorliegende Verwendungshinweis beschreibt den Bestim-
mungsgemäßen Gebrauch des Produkts.
Bitte lesen Sie alle Informationen sorgfältig!
Dieser Verwendungshinweis ersetzt nicht die Gebrauchsanwei-
sung des verwendeten Elektrochirurgiegeräts! Lesen Sie die Ge-
brauchsanweisung des Elektrochirurgiegeräts und fragen Sie in
Zweifelsfällen Erbe oder Ihren Vertreiber!
Hinweis: Melden Sie schwerwiegende Vorfälle mit dem Produkt
Ihrem örtlichen Händler oder Erbe. Wenn Sie Anwender in der
Europäischen Union sind, melden Sie Vorfälle zusätzlich an die
zuständige Behörde in Ihrem Mitgliedsstaat.
1.1 Zweckbestimmung / Indikationen
Der Adapter verbindet verschiedene Instrumente mit Elektrochi-
rurgiegeräten und überträgt elektrische Energie, ohne die Ener-
gie zu verändern.
1.2 Kompatibilität
Der Adapter ist kompatibel mit Erbe-Elektrochirurgiegeräten der
VIO- und ICC-Reihe.
Bitte beachten Sie den Verwendungshinweis für das entspre-
chende Zubehör und die entsprechenden Geräte.

genutzten Räumen verwendet werden.
1.4 Qualifikation des Anwenders
Für die Zweckbestimmung darf das Produkt nur von ausgebilde-
tem medizinischen Personal verwendet werden, das anhand des
Verwendungshinweises in dessen Gebrauch eingewiesen wurde.
1.5 Leistungsmerkmale
Leistungsmerkmale bezogen auf die Zweckbestimmung sind:
•Weiterleiten des HF-Stroms vom Elektrochirurgiegerät zum
Instrument.
2 Maximale elektrische Belastbarkeit
Die maximale elektrische Belastbarkeit dieser Produkte beträgt
bei eingedrehter Sterngriffschraube:

3 Sicherheitshinweise
Überprüfen Sie das Produkt vor jeder Anwendung auf äußere
Schäden! Falls schadhaft, dieses Produkt nicht verwenden!
Verbrennungsgefahr! Werden Kabel mit nicht isolierten Steckern
an den Adapter angeschlossen, führen diese während der Akti-
vierung des Elektrochirurgiegerätes Strom. Berühren Sie deshalb
während der HF-Aktivierung weder den Adapter noch die nicht
isolierten Teile des Kabels.

Nicht in Gegenwart von brennbaren oder explosiblen Stoffen
verwenden!
Niemals auf dem Patienten oder in dessen unmittelbarer Nähe
ablegen!
Schützen Sie das Produkt vor jeglicher mechanischen Beschädi-
gung! Nicht werfen! Keinerlei Gewalt anwenden!
Erbe Elektromedizin warnt ausdrücklich davor, das Produkt zu
verändern. Jede Veränderung führt zum Ausschluss der Haftung
durch Erbe Elektromedizin.
4 Anwendungshinweise
4.1 Vor Gebrauch
Das Produkt vor der ersten Anwendung und vor jeder Wiederan-
wendung reinigen und desinfizieren.
4.2 Produkt kontrollieren
VORSICHT! Überprüfen Sie das Produkt vor jeder Anwendung auf
äußere Schäden. Falls schadhaft, dieses Produkt nicht verwen-
den.
Prüfen Sie insbesondere auf:
•Risse
•verbogene oder abgebrochene Pins
•Abbruchstellen
•Korrosion

4.3 Geräteeinstellungen
VORSICHT! Verbrennungsgefahr für OP-Personal durch Span-
nungsüberschlag. Gefahr der Beschädigung des Produkts. Wäh-
len Sie nur Geräteeinstellungen, die die maximale elektrische
Belastbarkeit des Produkts (Vpmax oder kVpmax) nicht über-
schreiten. Hinweise zur Auswahl passender Geräteeinstellungen
entnehmen Sie der Gebrauchsanweisung des Elektrochirurgie-
gerätes (bei Erbe-Elektrochirurgiegeräten lesen Sie das Kapitel
„Zubehör“).
4.4 Produkt anschließen
WARNUNG! Verletzungsgefahr! Aktivieren Sie das Elektrochirur-
giegerät nicht, während Sie den Adapter anschließen.
VORSICHT! Schließen Sie nur vollständig trockene Produkte an
das Gerät an.
Das Produkt muss ganz in die entsprechende Buchse eingesteckt
werden. Es muss ein deutlicher Anschlag spürbar sein.
Das Instrument so weit wie möglich in den Adapter einführen
und mit der Sterngriffschraube fixieren.
4.5 Nach Gebrauch
Der Adapter kann nach Gebrauch im Gerät stecken bleiben.
Wenn Sie den Adapter ausstecken möchten, ziehen Sie ihn gera-
de aus der Buchse. Querkräfte können sonst die Buchse beschä-
digen.

5 Reinigung und Desinfektion
5.1 Sicherheitshinweise
Dieses Produkt ist nicht für die maschinelle Reinigung und Des-
infektion geeignet!
Nicht sterilisieren!
5.2 Produkt reinigen und desinfizieren
Der Adapter ist für eine Wisch- oder Sprühdesinfektion geeignet.
Das Produkt ist für Desinfektionsmittel auf Alkohol- und auf Al-
dehydbasis geeignet.
Ziehen Sie zur Desinfektion den Adapter gerade aus der Buchse.
Entfernen Sie Blutrückstände vor dem Einsatz des Desinfekti-
onsmittels mit einem feuchten Tuch; andernfalls kann es zu Wir-
kungsbeeinträchtigungen kommen.
Beachten Sie die Anwendungshinweise des Desinfektionsmittel-
herstellers (insbesondere zu Materialverträglichkeit, Dosierung
und Einwirkzeit).
6 Entsorgung
Das Produkt, Verpackungsmaterial und Zubehör (wenn vorhan-
den) nach den jeweils geltenden länderspezifischen Vorschriften
und Gesetzen entsorgen.

1 General instructions for use
These notes on use describe the normal use of the product.
Please read all information carefully.
These instructions for use do not replace the user manual of the
electrosurgical unit used! Read the user manual of the electro-
surgical unit and ask Erbe or your distributor in case of doubt!
Note: Report serious incidents with the product to your local
dealer or Erbe. If you are a user in the European Union, also re-
port incidents to the responsible authority in your Member State.
1.1 Intended use / Indications for use
The adapter connects various instruments to electrosurgical
units and transfers electrical energy without changing the ener-
gy.
1.2 Compatibility
The adapter is compatible with Erbe electrosurgical units from
the VIO and ICC series.
Please observe the notes on use for the appropriate accessories
and equipment.

1.3 Environment
For the intended use, the product may only be operated in prem-
ises used for medical purposes.
1.4 Qualification of user
For the intended use, the product may only be operated by med-
ical professionals who have been trained in its use on the basis
of the notes on use.
1.5 Performance characteristics
Performance characteristics relating to the intended use are:
•Transporting HF current from the electrosurgical unit to the
instrument.

3 Safety instructions
Check the product for external damage before every use! Do not
use this product if it is damaged!
Risk of burns! If cables with uninsulated connectors are connect-
ed to the adapter, they carry a current when the electrosurgical
unit is activated. Therefore, do not touch the adapter or uninsu-
lated sections of the cable during HF activation.

Do not use in the presence of combustible or explosive materials!
Never lay this product on the patient or in his/her direct vicinity.
Protect the product from all physical damage! Do not throw! Do
not apply force of any kind!
Erbe Elektromedizin expressly warns against modifying the
product. Any modification exempts Erbe Elektromedizin from
any and all liability.
4 How to use
4.1 Before use
Clean and disinfect the product before using for the first time
and before every reuse.
4.2 Checking the product
CAUTION! Check the product for external damage before every
use. Do not use this product if it is damaged.
Check for the following in particular:
•cracks
•bent or broken pins
•fractures
•corrosion
4.3 Unit settings
CAUTION! Risk of burns for OR staff due to flashovers. Risk of
damage to the product. Only select unit settings that do not ex-
ceed the maximum electrical capacity of the product (Vpmax or
kVp). You can find information on selecting suitable unit settings
in the instructions for use of the electrosurgical unit (for Erbe
electrosurgical units, read the “Accessories” chapter).

4.4 Connecting the product
WARNING! Risk of injury! Do not activate the electrosurgical unit
while you are connecting the adapter.
CAUTION! Only connect products that are completely dry to the
unit.
The product must be fully inserted into the corresponding sock-
et. You should be able to feel that it has reached a distinct stop.
Insert the instrument into the adapter as far as possible and fix
it in place with the grip screw.
4.5 After use
The adapter can remain in the device after use.
If you wish to remove the adapter, make sure it is straight when
you pull it out of the socket. If you pull it at an angle, this could
damage the socket.
5 Cleaning and disinfection
5.1 Safety instructions
This product is not suitable for mechanical cleaning and disinfec-
tion!
Do not sterilize!
5.2 Clean and disinfect the product
The adapter is suitable for wiping or spray disinfection.
The product is suitable for alcohol- and aldehyde-based disin-
fectants.

Pull the adapter out of the socket in a straight line in order to
disinfect it.
Remove any blood residues with a damp cloth before using the
disinfectant; this may impair the function otherwise.
Observe the disinfectant manufacturer’s instructions for use (es-
pecially regarding material compatibility, dosage, and exposure
time).
6 Disposal
Dispose of the product, packaging material and accessories (if
available) in accordance with the national guidelines and legis-
lation applicable in each case.
