QUICK GUIDE
ERBEJET®2
This quick guide is no substitute for user manuals and notes on use. This quick guide does not contain any safety instructions. Familiarize
yourself with the safety instructions in the user manuals and notes on use.
For all instruments:
Switch on the ERBEJET 2 unit.
1. Use the selection buttons  to select a
program for your application.
2. Confirm using the OK selection button.
Connect the fluid tube connector and
pump cartridge. The connector must audi-
bly click into place.
Note: For sterile procedures, the connection
should take place in a sterile area.
1. Wait until the ERBEJET 2 display shows
Please insert new cartridge!
2. Slide the pump cartridge into the pump
shaft. The pump cartridge must audibly
click into place.
Only for HybridKnife, HybridAPC
probe and monopolar applica-
tor:
1. Switch on the VIO.
2. Select a program for your application.
Connect the return electrode to the VIO.
Insert the HF connector into a suitable
socket (see above).
Insert the FiAPC connector into the APC
socket.
For all instruments:
1. Connect an infusion set to a bottle or a
bag with separating medium. The sepa-
rating medium is sterile, physiological
saline solution.
2. Hang the bottle or the bag.
Note: Hang the bottle or the bag a maximum
of 1 m above the standard rail. The lowest
possible attachment point is at the height of
the standard rail.
3. Open the roller clamp.
4. Fill the infusion set until it has been fully
primed.
5. Remove the protective cap from the pump
cartridge.
6. Connect the pump cartridge and infusion
tube.

1. Wait until the ERBEJET 2 display shows
Prime.
2. Press the START selection button.
3. Verify whether the suction hose of the
pump cartridge fills with the separating
medium. The priming process takes up to
20 seconds.
4. Functional test: Activate the footswitch
until separating medium flows from the
tip of the instrument.
Prerequisite: The option is switched on (can be
carried out by Erbe employees).
1. Press the Selection button next to the
menu item Program / Setup.
2. Press the Selection button next to the
menu item Info.
Note: If you activate the ERBEJET 2 frequently,
you can reduce possible obstructions in the
instrument (e.g. in the HybridKnife).
The pump cartridge is intended for treating
one patient. When treating this one patient,
you can change the instrument as often as you
like.
Press the release button to detach the in-
strument.
Note: Use aseptic techniques when you
change the instrument.
Before you switch off the device:
1. Press EJECT to remove the pump car-
tridge. Observe the instructions on the
display.
2. Remove the pump cartridge.
Operating steps for ESM 2, only
for applicator and monopolar ap-
plicator:
Switch on the ESM 2.
Connect the vacuum hose with the mem-
brane filter.
Note: Use a new membrane filter in the fol-
lowing cases: For each new application. If the
membrane filter has been unpacked for longer
than 7 days. If the membrane filter has
absorbed moisture.
1. Attach the adapter onto the connection
port for the suction hose.
2. Attach the applicator suction hose to the
adapter.
