Function and application
The DRQD-... is a double-acting double
piston rotary drive. When compressed
air is applied alternately to one connec-
tion and then to the other, the two paral-
lel pistons move backwards and for-
wards in opposite directions to each
other. The linear movement is converted
into a rotary movement by means of a
pinion and transferred to the drive shaft.
The end position cushioning is carried
out pneumatically on the DRQD-...-
PPVJ-... , and by means of hydraulic
shock absorbers on the DRQD-...-
YSRJ-... .
The DRQD-... rotary drive is intended
for turning or swivelling a work load
which must perform a defined angular
movement (≤360°).
Funktion und Anwendung
Der DRQD-... ist ein doppeltwirkender
Doppelkolben-Antrieb. Durch wechsel-
seitige Belüftung der Druckluftanschlüs-
se bewegen sich zwei parallel angeord-
nete Kolben gegenläufig hin und her.
Die Linearbewegung wird über Ritzel in
eine Drehbewegung der Abtriebswelle
umgesetzt.
Die Endlagendämpfung erfolgt beim
DRQD-...-PPVJ-... pneumatisch, beim
DRQD-...-YSRJ-... mit hydraulischen
Stoßdämpfern.
Der Drehantrieb DRQD-... wird bestim-
mungsgemäß zum Drehen oder
Schwenken von Nutzlasten eingesetzt,
die eine definierte Winkelbewegung
(≤360°) ausführen müssen.

•Compare the specified limit values
with your actual application.
The permitted limit values, e.g. for
pressures, forces, moments, masses,
speeds and temperatures must not
be exceeded.
•Ensure that there is a supply of
correctly prepared compressed air.
•Observe the prevailing ambient con-
ditions.
•Comply with national and local
safety laws and regulations.
Voraussetzungen für den
Produkteinsatz
Allgemeine, stets zu beachtende
Hinweise für den ordnungsgemäßen
und sicheren Einsatz des Produkts:
•Vergleichen Sie die angegebenen
Grenzwerte mit Ihrem aktuellen
Einsatzfall.
Die zulässigen Grenzwerte, z.B. für
Drücke, Kräfte, Momente, Massen,
Geschwindigkeiten und Temperatu-
ren dürfen nicht überschritten wer-
den.
•Sorgen Sie für ordnungsgemäß auf-
bereitete Druckluft.
•Berücksichtigen Sie die vorherr-
schenden Umgebungsbedingungen.
•Beachten Sie die Vorschriften der
Berufsgenossenschaft, des Techni-
schen Überwachungsvereins oder
entsprechende nationale Bestimmun-
gen.

•Remove all packaging such as pro-
tective wax, foils, cartons and caps
(except the sealing elements of the
pneumatic connections).
The individual materials can be dis-
posed of in recycling containers.
•Once the energy medium has been
selected, you should retain this for
the entire service life of the product.
Example:
If non-lubricated compressed air is
selected, then always use non-lubri-
cated compressed air.
•Slowly pressurize your complete
system.
In this way you can avoid uncon-
trolled movements.
Safety start-up valve type MFHE-...
or VLHE-.... should be used for slow
pressurization when starting.
•Please observe the warnings and in-
structions
- on the product
- in these operating instructions.
•Entfernen Sie alle Transportvorkeh-
rungen wie Schutzwachs, Folien, Kar-
tonagen und Kappen (außer den Ver-
schlußelementen der pneumatischen
Anschlüsse).
Die Entsorgung der einzelnen Werk-
stoffe in Recycling-Sammelbehälter
ist möglich.
•Behalten Sie die einmal gewählte Zu-
sammensetzung des Mediums über
die gesamte Produktlebensdauer bei.
Beispiel:
gewählt: ungeölte Druckluft
beizubehalten: ungeölte Druckluft
•Belüften Sie Ihre gesamte Anlage
langsam.
Dann treten keine unkontrollierten
Bewegungen auf.
Zur langsamen Einschaltbelüftung
dient das Sicherheits-Einschaltventil
Typ MFHE-... oder VLHE-....
•Berücksichtigen Sie die Warnungen
und Hinweise
- am Produkt
- in dieser Bedienungsanleitung.

•Verwenden Sie das Produkt im Origi-
nalzustand ohne jegliche eigenmäch-
tige Veränderung.
•Lassen Sie sämtliche Schrauben
und Gewindestifte unverändert, für
die es keine unmittelbare Aufforde-
rung zur Veränderung in dieser Anlei-
tung gibt.
•Sie sind aus Sicherheitsgründen mit
Schraubensicherungsmittel fixiert.
Transport und Lagerung
•Berücksichtigen Sie das Gewicht
des DRQD-...:
Er wiegt bis zu 4,2 kg.
•Use the product in its original form.
Unauthorized modification is not per-
mitted.
•Leave all screws and threaded pins
in their original state if no immediate
demand for modification is specified
in these instructions.
•For safety reasons, the screws and
pins are fixed with locking adhesive.

Einbau
mechanisch
•Behandeln Sie den DRQD-... so,
daß keine Schäden an der Antriebs-
welle auftreten.
Besonders bei der Ausführung nach-
folgender Punkte:
1. Plazieren Sie den DRQD-... so, daß
Sie stets die Bedienteile und Anschlüs-
se erreichen können.
2. Wählen Sie eine der folgenden Befesti-
gungsalternativen:
- zwei Schrauben mit Zentrierhülse in
Durchgangsbohrungen !
eindrehen
- vier Schrauben in Gewinde-
bohrungen 7 eindrehen
- Schwalbenschwanzbefestigung (nur
bei DRQD-...-SD..).

Mechanical
•Treat the DRQD-... with care so that
no damage can occur to the drive
shaft.
This applies in particular when you
carry out the following:
1. Place the DRQD-... so that the opera-
ting parts and connections are always
accessible.
2. Fasten the DRQD-.... in one of the
following ways:
-by means of two screws with
centring sleeves in the through
holes !
-by means of four screws in the
through holes 7
-by means of dove-tail fastening
(only with DRQD-...-SD..).

4. Stellen Sie sicher, daß beim Plazieren
der beweglichen Masse folgende Vor-
gaben eingehalten werden:
- verkantungsfreier Einbau,
- zulässige Querkraft Fy,
- zulässige Längskraft Fx,
- zulässiges Massenträgheitsmoment.
Das Massenträgheitsmoment der be-
weglichen Masse sollte berechnet
worden sein. Hebelarme, Ausleger
und Massen an einer zweiten Ab-
triebswelle sollten in der Rechnung
mitberücksichtigt sein.

4. When placing the moving load, make
sure that the following specifications
are observed:
- the load must not be fitted askew,
- the permitted lateral force Fy,
- the permitted longitudinal force Fx,
- the permitted mass moment of inertia.
The mass moment of inertia of the
moving load should be calculated.
Lever arms, swivel beams and
masses on a second drive shaft
should be taken into account in the
calculation.

Vorbereitung ohne Stoßdämpfer
•Stellen Sie sicher, daß die Position
der Sprengringe nicht verändert wer-
den.
Die Sprengringe dienen zur Begren-
zung der maximal zulässigen
Drehwinkeleinstellung. Das Entfernen
der Sprengringe ermöglicht ein unzu-
lässiges Eindrehen der Gewindehül-
sen.
Zur Justierung der Endlagen ohne inte-
grierte Stoßdämpfer bei DRQD-...-PPVJ:
1. Drehen Sie die bewegliche Masse von
Hand in eine Endlage.
2. Drehen Sie die entsprechende Gewin-
dehülse mit einem Sechskantschrau-
bendreher ein, bis die gewünschte
Endlagenstellung erreicht ist.
Setting without shock absorber
•Make sure that the position of the cir-
clips has not been modified.
The circlips are used for limiting the
maximum permitted angle of rotation.
If the circlips are removed, the
threaded sleeves could be screwed
in further and this is not permitted.
Adjusting the end positions without inte-
grated shock absorber on DRQD-...-
PPVJ.
1. Screw the moving load by hand into
an end position.
2. Use a hexagon socket wrench to
screw in the threaded sleeve, until the
desired end position is reached.

Vorbereitung mit Stoßdämpfer
Zur Justierung der Endlagen des
DRQD-...-YSRJ mit integrierten
Stoßdämpfern:
1. Behandeln Sie die Stoßdämpfer so,
daß keine Schäden an Gewinde und
Außenzylinder entstehen.
2. Drehen Sie die Kontermuttern beider
Stoßdämpfer-Gewindehülsen 8 auf.
Die kleinere Kontermutter am
Stoßdämpfer darf zur Justierung der
Endlagen nicht gelöst werden.
3. Drehen Sie die bewegliche Masse ge-
gen die Stoßdämpferkraft von Hand in
eine Endlage.
Dadurch liegt einer der internen Dop-
pelkolben an der Stoßdämpfer-Ge-
windehülse an.
4. Drehen Sie gleichzeitig die entspre-
chende Gewindehülse mit einem Ga-
belschlüssel an der Kontermutter des
Stoßdämpfers 9 bis die gewünschte
Endlagenstellung erreicht ist.
Setting with shock absorber
Adjusting the end positions of the
DRQD-...-YSRJ with integrated shock
absorbers
1. Treat the shock absorbers with care
so that the thread and the outer cylin-
der are not damaged.
2. Unscrew the locking nuts of the shock
absorber threaded sleeves 8 .
The smaller locking nut on the shock
absorber must not be loosened for
adjusting the end positions.
3. Screw the moving load by hand into
one of the end positions against the
force of the shock absorber.
One of the internal double pistons will
then lie against the threaded sleeve
of the shock absorber.
4. At the same time, use a wrench to
screw in the threaded sleeve on the
locking nut of the shock absorber 9
until the desired end position is
reached.

sen wieder mit dem festgelegten
