1. GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 Structure of the manual and procedure for
consulng
The instrucon manual is an integral part of the provision of this
bed. The manual is for customers, owners, safety personnel, us-
ers and maintainers.

1.1.2 Aim and content
This manual provides with informaon on proper use, technical
characteriscs and safety warnings; it cannot, however, replace
the user appropriate experience.
1.1.3 Maintenance
This manual must be kept in an accessible and well-known place
by all the operators, protected against humidity, heat and light.
1.2 Introducon
1.2.1 Intended use
The device intended to be used as a bed only.
This bed is intended to be used in private home, care home,
hospital, or community environment, by users over 12 years old.
Dierent uses are not contemplated.
This product can only be paired with the products featured in the
list of compable accessories.
Use with other products must be evaluated in advance and may
invalidate the warranty.

Every alteraon of the product unbeknown to the manufac-
turer is the full responsibility of whoever makes the chang-

Medical Technology Co., Ltd. will invalidate any warranty and
invalidate the declaraon of conformity to the applicable
direcves.

It is forbidden to use the product in a dierent way from the
one described in this user manual.

Longway Medical does not any responsibility for malfunc-
ons or damages to objects and persons due to the incorrect
use of the product.

Operators must carefully read this manual, follow the given
instrucons and familiarize themselves with the procedures
for the use and maintenance of this product.

When the paent is not under surveillance, the medical bed
should be set in the lower posion with the siderails up in
order to reduce the risk of falls and injuries.

Avoid any inappropriate use of the power cord. The dangers
arising could be - for example - kinks, cuts and other me-
chanical damages.
⚠
In the event that cables from other equipment are located
inside the medical bed, it is necessary to take precauons in
order to avoid them to be crushed between other compo-
nents of the medical bed.

Due to the limited space under the medical bed, it is neces-
sary to use it with suitable liing devices.
⚠
Use and perform any maintenance on the product following
the instrucon provided by this manual and use only spare
parts and assistance approved by Longway Medical.

Do not use the product for purposes other than those for
which it was built and designed for.
⚠
Retain this manual for consulng or personnel training. It is
intended to be kept together with the product if sold or used
by new users.
2.2 Provisions relang to electrical hazard
Power supply must be provided to the machine using a protect-
ed line in order to avoid overcurrent through automac magne-
to-thermal switch and di; these devices must provide enough
electrical power to protect the size of the power wires.

If extension cords are necessary, the power wires must end
with a plug which is indissolubly plugged or with other devic-
es able to avoid water entering during the cleaning process
of the bed.
⚠
The medical bed must be provided with a suitable equip-
ment in order to maintain the power wire free from any
mobile part or mechanism of the medical bed when this is
funconing, or while it is moved, in order to avoid any dam-
ages to the power wire.
Power cords must be adequately protected against damages
that may be caused if they come in contact with one or more
moving parts or they rub against sharp angles and surfaces
inside the medical bed.
2.3 Provisions of use
Warnings on the use of the medical device are shown below.

Before operang the moving parts of the bed, make sure
they don’t damage any pipe, electric cable, catheters and
other devices else and ensure they will not make the user
uncomfortable or in any sort of problemac situaon; see
this manual for informaon on the procedure.

When provided, wheels have the sole purpose of moving the
bed when sanitaon, therapy etc. are necessary and they
should be kept braked at any other me.
2.4 Use
The daily use of the product is allowed only when each and ev-
ery safety security feature and funconal part is well-funconing

and correctly maintained.
The bed is intended to be used in private or care home’s, hos-
pitals and community environment by users over 12 years old.
The only possible use is the one described in this manual; we
recommend to read the instrucons carefully in order to be fully
aware of the funconality of the product.
2.5 Contraindicaon to use
It cannot be used when moving parts are not connected or weld-
ed, or show abnormalies.
• It cannot be used in environment subject to water splashing or
crical and adverse weather condions.
• It cannot be used if defecveness is shown: this can cause unex-
pected situaons of danger.
2.6 Residual risk
If the requirements displayed in this manual are not observed
• Risk of limbs crushing if limbs are placed under the moving
parts during downward movements.
• Risk of injury or re if the electrical components come in con-
tact with uids.
• Risk of damages to the product if this is subject to crical or
adverse weather condions.

3.2 Descripon
The bed was designed and built to provide high-quality standards and sturdiness.
The medical device is composed of a bed base, named applied part, a footboard and a support headboard.
This three joint, four secon bed with adjustable height has the following specics:
• Steel square-meshed net frame 200x89 cm which is height adjustable using electronic controls provided in 43 or 86 cm
• Back secon adjustable from 0° to 70° using the electronic pusher (24V dc).
• Fixed pelvis secon
• Legs secon adjustable from 0° to 30° using the electronic pusher (24V dc).
• Back secon connuously adjustable together with the legs secon
• Removable wooden siderails
• Headboard and footboard height 44 cm
• This bed is intended to be used in private or care home, hospital or community environment, by users over 12 years old. However, it
can also be used as room furniture in the same environment. Use with other products must be evaluated in advance.

4. ASSEMBLY
4.1 Unpacking

The bed comes disassembled into its parts in nr, 2 boxes.
Make sure all the components are in good condion before proceeding.
When the packed product is transported eith a trolley be
careful to avoid injuries from accidental roll.
Open the package and extract content with cauon,
making sure not to demage it.
Aer unpacking the product, make sure it is not damaged; otherwise, please contact the authorized dealer.
Damages caused during incorrect transport, unpacking or assembly are not covered under warranty.

4.2 Assembly
The product must be transported following the direcons on the package; if manual handling
is necessary, keep in mind that one operator can carry a maximum load of 25 kg.
Li and move the bed slowly in order to avoid injuries from biomechanical overload of the spine.
If moving the product is necessary, we recommend the use of protecve gloves and the presence
of at least two operators to li the product.

The assembly operaon of the medical device must be carried out by at least two operators
in order to avoid damages to objects or persons.

Bed base
- Insert the two inserts at the end of the bed base,
head side. The inserts must be assembled so that
one of them protrudes more than the other.
- Slightly ghten the two bolts, head side
- Push the bed base, foot side, against the two
inserts.
- Tighten the two bolts at the foot side.
- Complete ghtening all the bolts.
Motor and in-built control unit assembly
- When the bed base is assembled,
before proceeding and xing it to the
headboard and the footboard, the bed base must be overturned so that its
hooks are poinng upwards.
For LW05207(B)/LW05208(B)
- Starng from this posion of the bed base, proceed on assembling
the motor unit by pushing and make sure it is xed to the two
pins
- Slide out the two lids from the slots, where the hooks for
the bed shall be put
- Flip the motor and match the slots with the two protruding
hooks and push on.
- Reinsert the two lids into the motor over the hooks to secure

To prevent cables from being damaged when the engines are acvated, follow the instrucons below:
• Connect the cables of the test/foot motors directly on the control unit.
• Connect the height adjustment motor cables contained in the heads directly on the control unit
• Connect the remote control cable to the control unit
• Connect the mains cable to the general 230V power supply.
• Bring the head/foot motors to a high posion.
• Carry out all secon movements, maress plaorm, and trendelenburg to check for interference between cables and moving parts.
• Make sure all cables are free and without risk of entangling in moving parts of the bed
Insert the monkey pole (loops from parts box)

In order to avoid the damage of the cables when the engine is starng, strictly follow the
following instrucon:
- Connect the headboard/footboard cables straight to the central motor unit
- Connect the remote cable to the central motor unit
- Connect the mains cable to a 230V general electric supply
- Put the headboard/footboard motors in a high posion
- Perform movements of the secons, maress plaorm and trendelenburg in order to verify possible interference between the
cables and the moving parts
- Make sure all the cables are free from the risk of entanglement with the moving parts of the bed
Take care when handling the footboard the risk of crushing and damage to the product is real as
the adjustable foot-lier is not securely locked into the head or foot board.
Remove the plug from the socket before moving the bed

- Li the bed base approximately 1/4 to make the insert of the panels easier
- Insert the panels from below unl the stops click in posion

5. USE
5.1 Use of the medical device
Keep the electro-medical device in a place where the plug can be easily disconnected from socket
The remote is provided with safety lock thanks to a magnet which turns on automacally when the
device has not been used for more than 30/40 seconds.
The device is not provided with a main switch, just plug into the mains socket to access all the
features. Pulling the plug o the mains socket works as emergency response on the power supply.
The bed must be seton its lowest height and the siderails raised while not supervised in order to
reduce the risk of falling.

The WARNING! symbol is on when one of the components of the device is being moved by the
electric motors.
In order to move the wooden siderails, it is necessary
to push the brown buon which acvates the locking
pin on the headboard and footboard, then proceed as
following:
- LIFTING: grab an end of the panel and pull up the
higher wooden siderail in order to acvate the locking
pin; if this clicks, the aachment has been successful.
Repeat this operaon for the headboard and then the
footboard or vice versa.
- LOWERING: grab an end of the siderail, push the
brown buon, then lower the rail all the
way down. Repeat this operaon with the other end.
To acvate the monkey pole:
Insert the monkey pole on the provided hook on the
bed base, making sure to insert the locking stops into
the right holes on the hook.
6. TROUBLESHOOT
When operaons are represented by this symbol they must be carried out by qualied
personnel only.
INCONVENIENCE SOLUTION
The bed doesn't answer to the UP/DOWN command - Check the plug is correctly plugged in
- Repeat the acvaon process of the remote
- Verify and clean the contacts
- Reduce the load
The LED command of the remote is not working - Replace the LED

These operaons can be carried out by the user.
The device needs ordinary maintenance just like any other prod-
uct, so that it is maintaned in safe perfect funconing condion.
Food, hair and any other accumulang debris - like dust - must
be removed daily; a domesc vacuum cleaner can be used for
this operaon.
The following table shows the recommended frequency for
maintenance operaons. Constant monitoring and aenon by
the user shall encourage carrying out the actual necessary op-
eraons.
The baery does not charge properly - Contact the technical support service
The device moves intermiently - Remove the movement connectors from the remote and clean the con-
tacts with a dry alcohol pad
The panels are not properly inserted - Lubricate the machine
Unusual sounds when the device is operang - Contact technical support

7.2 Cleaning metal partse
Painted metal parts can be cleaned using sprays for domesc use
only if they are alcohol-free and solvent-free, alcohol and sol-
vents can discolour or damage painng.
Chromed parts can be cleaned using ordinary domesc products
and before being carefully dried.
7.3 Cleaning plasc parts
Plasc parts can be cleaned using an ordinary plasc cleaner fol-
lowing the instrucons and
contraindicaons of the product. Avoid solvent-based and alco-
hol-based products.
Do not use jets and avoid splashing water.
7.4 Cleaning wooden parts
Wooden parts can be cleaned using an ordinary non bleach
cleaners, following the instrucons and contraindicaons of the
product. Avoid solvent-based and alcohol-based products.
Do not use jets and avoid splashing water.

7.5 Replacement of worn parts
Operaons of replacement of worn parts must be carried out by qualied personnel only
If, during the at least yearly roune inspecon, damaged or worn parts are revealed, these must be immediately replaced as recom-
mended by the inspecng personnel. We recommend an independent inspecon is completed at leat every 12 months.
Original spare parts must be used when replacing damaged parts, we cannot accept responsibility for damages to objects or persons
if this is not adhered to.

WARNING! Any maintenance and/or replacement operaon must be carried out exclusively when
the bed is not being used by the user and free from any accessories (Linen, maress, panels, etc.)
and is UNPLUGGED.
7.6 Storage
If the medical device remains unused for a long me, it must be
kept in a dry environment away from direct sunlight and humidi-
ty in order to avoid damages to the device.
Make sure the medical device is kept in perfect clean condion.
7.7 Disposal
Before proceeding with dismantling, the device must be un-
plugged.
This symbol on the device means that the product
at its end of life must be collected
separately from household waste in accordance
with European Direcve 2012/19/UE on
electric and electronic waste (RAEE).
The packaging material is 100% recyclable. For
disposal follow local regulaons.

8. WARRANTY
8.1 warranty
The product is covered under a legal 12-month warranty starng
from the delivery date
(d. legs 24/2002) to the customer of Longway Medical and Dir. CE
1999/4 against any kind
of manufacturing defect.
Throughout the duraon of warranty, the maintenance of the
device is guaranteed enrely at
the expense of the manufacturer when it is established that the
problem is a manufacturing
defect. Warranty will be invalid should roune maintenance be
neglected.
Warranty does not cover parts that tend to get worn during nor-
mal use (wheels, etc.)
Warranty does not cover:
1. Damages from misuse or dierent use than the one specied
in this manual.
2. Damages from incorrect assembly by the customer.
3. Damages from alteraon, repair and mishandling by unautho-
rized personnel.
4. Shipping and packaging of the product under warranty are at
the expense of the dealer
or the manufacturer.
Warranty does not entle the customer to demand compensa-
on in any way.
Spare parts are available for 5 years from the date the product
is disconnued.
If customers detect problems, they must immediately inform the
authorized dealer, providing
informaon on the detected problem using data from the specif-
ic data decal on the device,
lling the given defect and failure reporng form.
The customer, aer making arrangements with the authorized
dealer, will take care of the
shipment of the product for warranty repair.
Throughout the duraon of warranty, technical intervenon will
be made by the manufacturer
who will make sure that the problem is a manufacturing defect
and not a fault of a dierent
nature.
This manual must be kept by the owner and must stay with the
device for the exercise of
guarantee.
Warranty starts from the delivery date.
8.2 Expected lifespan
The average lifespan of your homecare bed is 5 years. Depending
on the frequency and way of use and maintenance, the lifespan
of your homecare bed will increase of decrease.
