Su nuevo QUARTZ de JANÉ es un asiento diseñado para proteger al niño en el automóvil desde
aproximadamente los 3 años (15 Kg. de peso) hasta aproximadamente 12 años de edad (36 Kg.
de peso).
QUARTZ ha superado las exigentes pruebas de seguridad de la directiva Europea ECE 44/04 para
los grupos 2 y 3.
QUARTZ es una silla de seguridad que se usa en combinación con el cinturón de 3 puntos del
automóvil. Además, dispone de unos anclajes en su base, que pueden fijarse al ISOfix de su
automóvil para conseguir más estabilidad. La silla de seguridad QUARTZ se puede instalar con
o sin anclajes ISOfix, es recomendable usarla con anclajes ISOfix puesto que ofrecen el mayor
confort y seguridad.
Dependiendo de cómo la instale, debe saber que:
• Si la usa con anclajes ISOfix, QUARTZ es de categoría “Semi-Universal”, es decir, debe com-
probar si es compatible con su automóvil. Para ello, mire si su coche está dentro de la Lista de
Automóviles que viene junto a las instrucciones. Si no está, es posible que todavía no haya sido
comprobado o que la comprobación se ha hecho posteriormente a la impresión de la lista que
Vd. tiene. En la página Web www.jane.es encontrará la última actualización.
• Si la usa sin anclajes ISOfix, QUARTZ es de categoría “Universal”, es decir, es compatible con
la mayoría de los asientos de automóviles. No obstante, cuando el fabricante del automóvil
manifiesta que los asientos están previstos para la instalación de sillas del tipo “Universal”, la
compatibilidad es total.
Es muy importante que lea atentamente estas instrucciones antes de usar la silla de seguridad
QUARTZ por primera vez. Asegúrese que todos aquellos que alguna vez la vayan a usar también
estén familiarizados con su correcta instalación y uso. Se ha comprobado que un porcentaje
importante de usuarios de sillas de seguridad no las instalan correctamente. Entender los ma-
nuales de instrucciones y aplicar correctamente lo que dicen es tan importante para la seguridad
como la propia silla.

INSTRUCCIONES GENERALES
Con el fin de proteger adecuadamente al niño, y asegurar su confort y sujeción dentro del
automóvil, es necesario que respete las siguientes instrucciones:
• Su asiento QUARTZ ha sido diseñado para ser instalado en los asientos traseros o delanteros
del automóvil, siempre que dispongan de cinturones de tres puntos. Aun así, aconsejamos
que se instale siempre que sea posible en las plazas traseras, ya que así se consigue la máxima
seguridad.
• Es válido sólo para automóviles dotados con cinturones automáticos de tres puntos de an-
claje, que estén homologados según el Reglamento ECE-16 u otras normas equivalentes. NO
usar con un cinturón de dos puntos de anclaje, es muy peligroso en caso de frenada brusca
o accidente.
• En algunos automóviles la cinta de la hebilla del cinturón se encuentra en una posición muy
avanzada, de manera que puede quedar en contacto con el canto del asiento elevador, siendo
esta situación no segura. En este caso, pruebe a adelantar el asiento o a instalarlo en otro
asiento.
• No todos los sistemas de seguridad son exactamente iguales, por lo que aconsejamos que
compruebe su QUARTZ en el automóvil que vaya a ser instalado.
• Es muy importante no utilizar productos de segunda mano, ya que JANÉ sólo puede garantizar
la seguridad total en artículos usados por su primer comprador.
• JANÉ recomienda sustituir su silla de seguridad QUARTZ por una nueva cuando haya sido
sometida a violentas tensiones después de un accidente.
• Compruebe que todos los cinturones están en su correcta posición y debidamente ajustados a
su QUARTZ. Vigile que ningún cinturón esté enroscado.
• Debe hacer entender al niño que bajo ningún concepto debe manipular los cinturones o los
enganches del mismo.
• El asiento QUARTZ está concebido para su uso en el automóvil, por lo que no se debe usar
fuera del mismo.

Conociendo su silla de seguridad QUARTZ
Su silla de seguridad QUARTZ ha sido diseñada teniendo en cuenta los últimos avances en
materia de seguridad y ha sido testada en las condiciones más duras. Dispone de las siguientes
prestaciones:
Para mejorar la seguridad del niño:
• Sistema de fijación al automóvil basado en los anclajes ISOfix. Éstos solo sirven para fijar la
silla al automóvil, el niño debe estar sujeto con el cinturón de tres puntos de su automóvil.
• Cabezal con 11 posiciones en altura para mantener la protección durante el crecimiento del
niño.
• Laterales más altos, proporcionan más protección contra impacto lateral.
• Material absorbente de impactos en laterales y centro del cabezal.
• Cabezal reforzado contra torsiones.
Para mejorar el confort y su adaptabilidad al niño:
• Asiento reclinable, dispone de 3 posiciones.
• Acolchado extra.

Si va a instalar su QUARTZ con los anclajes rígidos, siga cuidadosamente los pasos descritos:
Extraiga el anclaje presionando las palancas rojas en los laterales (10).
Asegúrese que ambos anclajes estén abiertos, debe verse la señal roja en el botón de los
anclajes (9).
Sitúe su QUARTZ sobre el asiento del automóvil de acuerdo a los consejos y advertencias que le
hacemos en las INSTRUCCIONES GENERALES.
Antes de proceder a instalar inspeccione el asiento de su vehículo para localizar los dos anclajes
ISOfix. Una vez localizados, posicione su QUARTZ de manera que los anclajes rígidos (8) apunten
hacia los anclajes ISOfix del vehículo.
Presione los anclajes rígidos hacia el asiento hasta que se bloqueen ambos, compruebe que
se ve la señal verde en los dos botones de liberación del ISOfix (10).
Siga presionando con más fuerza hasta que el asiento elevador toque el respaldo del asiento
del automóvil. Asegúrese que ha quedado firmemente sujeto tirando del asiento.
Ponga el niño en la QUARTZ y asegúrese que está sentado en el fondo, pase el cinturón por
encima de él y abróchelo
Introduzca el cinturón de hombros en el paso de color rojo del cabezal (6)
Ajustes previos
Comprobación de la altura del cinturón de hombros.
Para conseguir la mejor protección para el niño, el cinturón de hombros debe estar guia-
do para que pase ligeramente por encima del hombro. Es necesario ajustar esta posición
a medida que el niño crezca.
Ponga el niño en el asiento, asegúrese que está bien sentado. El cinturón debe quedar lige-
ramente por encima del hombro del niño.
Para regular la altura, tire del botón situado detrás del cabezal (5) y deslice el cabezal en la
dirección deseada. Cuando llegue a la altura correcta, suelte el botón y mueva el cabezal
hasta la posición de bloqueo más próxima, debe oír un clic.
ATENCIÓN. Controle y corrija esta altura a medida que el niño crezca.
Elección de la plaza donde instalar la silla de seguridad
Una correcta elección de la ubicación de la silla de seguridad dentro del automóvil puede reducir
el riesgo de lesiones del niño en caso de accidente. Debe instalar la silla de seguridad preferen-
temente en las plazas traseras. Hay dos instalaciones posibles:
1. Con anclajes ISOfix y cinturón de 3 puntos, siga las instrucciones del apartado “semi-univer-
sal” más abajo. Recuerde que los anclajes ISOfix, en esta silla de seguridad, solo sirven para
dar mayor estabilidad; la retención en caso de accidente la realiza el cinturón de 3 puntos.
Además tenga en cuenta que es “Semi-universal” y no todas las plazas son compatibles, con-
sulte la Lista de Automóviles que viene en un folleto junto a las instrucciones o directamente
en nuestra página Web www.jane.es/
2. Solo con cinturón de tres puntos, siga las instrucciones del apartado “Universal”. Es decir, es
compatible con la mayoría de los asientos de automóviles. No obstante, cuando el fabricante
del automóvil manifiesta que los asientos están previstos para la instalación de sillas del tipo
“Universal”, la compatibilidad es total.
Alce o retire el reposacabezas del automóvil si éste interfiere con el de la silla de seguridad.
En plazas con air-bag frontal, retrase el asiento lo máximo posible.

Los anclajes ISOfix se han desarrollado para conseguir una fijación segura y fácil de los sis-
temas de retención infantil. No todos los automóviles disponen de estos anclajes, aunque
en los modelos más nuevos se van generalizando. Consulte el folleto adjunto con la Lista de
Automóviles en la que se ha comprobado que la silla puede ser instalada correctamente.

Ponga el niño en la QUARTZ y asegúrese que está sentado en el fondo, pase el cinturón por
encima de él y abróchelo

Pase el cinturón abdominal por debajo de ambos apoyabrazos del asiento elevador, la zona
por donde debe pasar el cinturón está nuevamente indicada en color rojo (7). Finalmente,
tense el cinturón.

Para sacar al niño del asiento, solo tiene que desabrochar el cinturón de seguridad. Cuando
desee retirar el asiento QUARTZ del automóvil, tire de los botones en los anclajes ISOfix (10) al
mismo tiempo que extrae el asiento elevador.
Sitúe su QUARTZ sobre el asiento del auto-
móvil de acuerdo a los consejos y adverten-
cias que le hacemos en las INSTRUCCIONES
GENERALES.
Cuando no esté ocupado, NO deje el asiento QUARTZ suelto dentro del habitáculo del
automóvil, abróchelo de nuevo con el cinturón o guárdelo en el compartimiento porta
equipajes. Al poner al niño de nuevo en el asiento, vigile que ninguna cinta esté enroscada
o fuera de sitio.

Universal:

Reclinado de la silla:
Para mejorar el confort del niño se puede reclinar el asiento. La máxima protección se consigue
con la silla sin reclinar.
No recline el asiento cuando está en uso. Para reclinar o enderezar su silla QUARTZ,
deberá ajustar la longitud del cinturón. Realice esta operación con el automóvil parado.
Para reclinar el asiento, levante la parte delantera del asiento elevador y deslícelo hasta la
posición deseada. Dispone de 3 posiciones.

RECOMENDACIONES
Guarde este libro de instrucciones para futuras consultas. Llévelo siempre en el comparti-
mento situado debajo del asiento elevador.
Asegúrese de que dentro del automóvil, tanto el equipaje como cualquier otro objeto sus-
ceptible de causar daños en caso de accidente, estén debidamente fijados o resguardados.
La silla de seguridad QUARTZ, en el automóvil, deberá estar siempre fijada con cinturones
de seguridad, aunque no esté ocupada por su niño, ya que en caso de accidente podría
resultar despedida provocando daños a los ocupantes del vehículo.
ADVERTENCIAS
No dejar al niño desatendido.
Cualquier modificación o adición al dispositivo sin la oportuna autorización de JANÉ puede
alterar gravemente la seguridad del sistema de retención.
Nunca añadir un colchón, almohada o relleno extra para mayor comodidad del niño ya que
modificaría las características de seguridad del sistema.
Leer estas instrucciones detenidamente antes de usarlo y conservarlas para referencia futura.
La seguridad del bebé puede verse afectada si no se siguen estas instrucciones.
Este dispositivo de seguridad no puede ser usado sin su tapizado, ni ser reemplazado por
otro que no sea el original, ya que éste forma parte integrante de las características de
seguridad del sistema.
Compruebe que la silla ha sido colocada correctamente. Asegúrese que el cinturón no ha
quedado pillado entre los asientos abatibles o puertas.
Es válido sólo para automóviles dotados con cinturones automáticos de tres puntos de ancla-
je, homologados según el Reglamento ECE-16 u otras normas equivalentes.
En plazas con air-bag frontal, retrase el asiento lo máximo posible
NO usar con un cinturón de dos puntos de anclaje.
No todos los sistemas de seguridad son exactamente iguales, por lo que aconsejamos que
compruebe su QUARTZ en el automóvil que vaya a ser montado.
Es muy importante no utilizar productos de segunda mano, ya que JANÉ sólo puede garanti-
zar la total seguridad en artículos usados por su primer comprador.
No dejar a otros niños jugar desatendidos cerca de la silla de seguridad.
No utilizar si falta cualquier parte o está rota o está desgarrada.
Utilizar solamente componentes originales JANÉ.

MANTENIMIENTO
No exponga el tapizado al sol durante largos períodos, mientras la silla de seguridad no esté
en uso cúbrala o guárdela en el compartimiento porta equipajes.
Lave las partes de plástico con agua templada y jabón, secando posteriormente todos los
componentes concienzudamente.
El tapizado puede desenfundarse para ser lavado. Siga las siguientes instrucciones:
- Respaldo: Retire los dos broches inferiores, tire hacia arriba el tapizado y desabroche el
tapizado por la parte central.
- Cabezal: Retire los dos broches de la parte inferior del cabezal y los dos que enganchan
con el tapizado del asiento elevador. Tire del tapizado hacia delante y hacia arriba.
- Asiento elevador: Sitúe la silla en su posición más reclinada. Retire los 2 broches en la
parte delantera. Retire el tapizado alrededor de la pieza del paso del cinturón abdominal y
tire del tapizado hacia delante.
Tanto para su seguridad como para la buena conservación de este producto, es importante
que haga una revisión periódica en cualquiera de nuestros talleres oficiales.

Your new QUARTZ from JANÉ is a safety seat that has been designed to protect the child in the
car from approximately 3 years (weighing 15 Kg.) up to approximately 12 years old (weighing
36 Kg.).
QUARTZ has passed the strict safety tests of the European Standard ECE 44/04 for groups 2
and 3.
QUARTZ is a safety seat that is used in conjunction with the vehicle 3-point seat belt. It is also
fitted with anchor points on the base, which can be fastened to the vehicle ISOfix to achieve
greater stability. The QUARTZ car safety seat can be installed with or without ISOfix anchors
although it is advisable to use it with ISOfix anchors as this offers greater comfort and safety.
Depending on how it is installed please remember that:
If it is used with ISOfix anchors, QUARTZ is classed as “Semi- Universal”, in other words, you
should check to see if it is compatible with your vehicle. To do this, check the Vehicle List that
comes with the instructions to see if your car is included. If it is not included, it may be that it has
not been checked yet or it may have been checked after the list was printed. You can check the
updated list on the web site www.jane.es.
If it is used without ISOfix anchors, QUARTZ is classed as “Universal”, in other words, it is com-
patible with most vehicle seats. However, whenever the vehicle manufacturer states that the
seats are suitable for “Universal” type car safety seats this means it is fully compatible.
It is very important that you read these instructions carefully before using the QUARTZ safety
seat for the first time. Make sure that everyone who is ever going to use the car seat also knows
how to install it and use it properly. It is a known fact that a significant percentage of car seat
users do not install them correctly. Understanding the instruction manuals and applying the
instructions correctly is as important for your child’s safety as the seat itself.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
In order to correctly protect the child and ensure he is comfortable and secure in the vehicle it
is necessary to follow the instructions below:
• Your QUARTZ car safety seat has been designed to be installed on the back or front seat
of your vehicle, provided the car is fitted with 3-point seat belts. However, we recommend
that whenever possible you install the safety seat on the back seat of the car, as this position
provides maximum safety.
• It is only suitable for vehicles that are fitted with automatic 3-point seat belts, that are ap-
proved under Standard ECE-16 or other equivalent standards. DO NOT use the safety seat
with a 2-point seat belt as this would be very dangerous in the event of sharp braking or an
accident.
• In some vehicles the buckle strap of the seat belt can be positioned quite far forwards and
may come into contact with the edge of the booster seat, which makes the position unsafe.
In this case, try moving the vehicle seat forwards or installing the safety seat on another seat
in the car.
• Not all safety systems are exactly the same, which is why we recommend you try your QUARTZ
out in the vehicle in which it is going to be used.
• It is very important not to use second hand products, because JANE can only guarantee com-
plete safety of products used by the original buyer.
• JANE recommends you replace your QUARTZ car safety seat with a new one if it has been
subjected to a lot of strain in an accident.
• Check that all the belts are correctly positioned and fastened to your QUARTZ. Make sure that
no belt is twisted.
• Make sure the child understands that he should never play with the seat belts or fasteners.
• The QUARTZ safety seat has been designed for use in the car and should not be used out of
the vehicle.

Understanding your QUARTZ car safety seat
Your QUARTZ safety seat has been designed using the latest safety developments and has been
tested under the strictest conditions. It is equipped with the following features:
To improve the child’s safety:
• System to secure it to the vehicle using ISOfix anchors. These anchors are only used to fasten
the seat to the vehicle, the child should be secured with the vehicle 3-point seat belt.
• Headrest with 11 height positions to ensure maximum protection as the child grows.
• Higher sides, offering greater protection in the event of side impact.
• Impact absorbing material on the sides and middle of the headrest.
• Headrest reinforced against twisting.
To improve the comfort and fit for the child:
• Reclining seat, fitted with 3 positions.
• Extra padding.

If you are going to install your QUARTZ with the rigid anchors, follow the steps below carefully:
Pull the anchor out pressing the red buttons on the sides (10).
Make sure that both anchors are open, the red signal should be displayed on the anchor
button (9).
Place your QUARTZ on the vehicle seat in accordance with the advice and warnings contained in
the GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS.
Before installing the safety seat find the ISOfix anchors on the vehicle seat. Once you have found
them, position the QUARTZ so that the rigid anchors (8) are pointing towards the ISOfix anchors
of the vehicle.
Press the rigid anchors towards the vehicle seat until they both lock, check that the green
signal is displayed on the two ISOfix release buttons (10).
Keep pressing firmly until the booster seat touches the backrest of the vehicle seat. Make
sure that it is securely held by pulling the seat.
Place the child in the QUARTZ and make sure that he is sitting well back, pass the seat belt
over him and fasten it
Insert the shoulder belt into the red clip on the headrest (6)
Pre-adjustments
Checking the height of the shoulder belt
To ensure maximum safety for the child, the shoulder belt should pass slightly above the
shoulder. This position will need to be adjusted as the child grows.
Place the child in the seat, make sure he is positioned correctly. The belt should go slightly
above the child’s shoulder.
To adjust the height, pull the button found behind the headrest (5) and slide the headrest
in the required direction. When it is at the correct height, release the button and move the
headrest to the nearest locking position, it should click into place.
WARNING. Check and adjust this position as the child grows.
Choosing where to install the safety seat
Choosing the correct place to install the safety seat in the vehicle can reduce the risk of injury to
the child in the event of an accident. If possible the safety seat should be installed on the back
seat of the vehicle. There are two possible installations:
1. With ISOfix anchors and the 3-point seat belt; follow the instructions in the “semi-universal”
section below. Remember that for this safety seat the ISOfix anchors are only used to give
the seat greater stability, in the event of an accident the child is restrained with the 3-point
seat belt. Also bear in mind that it is “Semi-universal” and not all vehicle seats are compat-
ible, consult the Vehicle List included in a leaflet with the instructions or go straight to our
web page www.jane.es/
2. Just with the 3-point seat belt; follow the instructions in the “Universal” section. In other
words, it is compatible with most vehicle seats. However, whenever the vehicle manufacturer
states that the seats are suitable for “Universal” type car safety seats this means it is fully
compatible.
Raise or remove the vehicle headrest if it interferes with the safety seat headrest.
On seats fitted with a frontal air-bag, move the seat as far back as possible.

Installing your QUARTZ in the vehicle
The ISOfix anchors have been designed to safely and easily secure child restraint systems.
Not all vehicles are fitted with these anchors, although they are now generally standard in

Do not leave the child unattended.
Any alteration or addition that is made to the product with the correct authorisation of
JANÉ may seriously affect the safety of the restraint system.
Never add a mattress, pillow or any extra padding to make the child more comfortable as
this would alter the safety characteristics of the system.
Read these instructions carefully before using the product and keep them for future refer-
ence. The baby’s safety may be at risk if these instructions are not followed.
This safety device must not be used without the upholstery, nor used with upholstery that
is not the original one as it is an important part of the safety characteristics of the system.
Check that the safety seat has been fitted correctly. Make sure that the seat belt has not
got caught between the folding seats of the vehicle or the doors.
It is only suitable for vehicles that are fitted with automatic 3-point seat belts, that are ap-
proved under Standard ECE-16 or other equivalent standards.
On seats fitted with a frontal air-bag, move the seat as far back as possible.
DO NOT use the safety seat with a 2-point seat belt.
Not all safety systems are exactly the same, which is why we recommend you try your
QUARTZ out in the vehicle in which it is going to be used.
It is very important not to use second hand products, because JANÉ can only guarantee
complete safety of products used by the original buyer.
Do not let other children play unattended near the safety seat.
Do not use if any of the parts are missing or broken or torn.
Only use the original JANÉ parts.
Pass the abdominal belt under both armrests of the booster seat, the area where the belt
should go is marked in red again (7). Lastly, tighten the seat belt.
To get the child out of the seat, simply unfasten the seat belt. When you want to remove the
QUARTZ safety seat from the vehicle, pull the buttons on the ISOfix anchors (10) while removing
the booster seat.
Reclining the seat:
To offer the child greater comfort the safety seat can be reclined. Maximum safety is achieved
when the seat is not reclined.
Do not recline the seat while the child is using it. To recline or straighten your QUARTZ safety
seat, you should adjust the length of the seat belt. Do this when the vehicle has stopped.
To recline the seat raise the front part of the booster seat and slide it to the required posi-
tion. It has 3 positions.

When it is not in use, DO NOT leave the QUARTZ seat loose in the vehicle, always secure it
with the seat belt or store it in the boot. When you place the child back in the seat again,
make sure that none of the straps are twisted or out of place.

Keep this instruction book for future reference. Always store it in the compartment under
the booster seat.
Inside the vehicle make sure that any luggage or objects that could cause injury in the event
of an accident are securely fastened or stored away.
The QUARTZ safety seat should always be secured with the seat belts, even when it is not
in use, because in the event of an accident it could get flung about and cause injury to the
other occupants of the vehicle.
Place the child in the QUARTZ and make sure that he is sitting well back, pass the seat belt
over him and fasten it
Insert the shoulder belt into the red clip on the headrest (6)

Do not expose the upholstery to sunlight for prolonged periods of time, when the safety
seat is not in use cover it up or store it in the boot.
Clean the plastic parts with soap and warm water, and then dry all the parts thoroughly.
The upholstery can be taken off for washing. Follow the instructions below:
-Backrest: Unfasten the two lower clips, pull the upholstery upwards and unfasten the
upholstery in the middle.
-Headrest: Unfasten the two clips on the bottom of the headrest and the two that secure
the upholstery of the booster seat. Pull the upholstery forwards and upwards.
-Booster seat: Put the seat in its fully reclining position. Unfasten the two clips on the
front part. Take the upholstery off from around the part where the lap belt goes and pull
the upholstery forwards.
For your safety and the good conservation of this product, it is important to bring it to one
of our official workshops for regular inspections.

Votre nouveau QUARTZ de JANÉ est un siège conçu pour protéger votre enfant en voiture à
partir de 3 ans environ (poids de 15 Kg) jusqu’à 12 ans approximativement (poids de 36 Kg).
QUARTZ a passé avec succès les stricts tests de sécurité de la Directive européenne ECE 44/04
pour les groupes 2 et 3.
QUARTZ est un siège auto qui s’utilise en association avec la ceinture de sécurité à 3 points de la
voiture. Il dispose également de connecteurs au niveau de la base qui peuvent être fixés au dis-
positif ISOfix de votre véhicule pour une plus grande stabilité. Le siège auto QUARTZ peut être
utilisé avec ou sans les connecteurs ISOfix, mais il est recommandé de les utiliser car ils offrent
un plus grand confort et une meilleure sécurité.
Selon l’installation choisie il vous faut savoir que :
Si vous l’utilisez avec les connecteurs ISOfix, QUARTZ est de catégorie « semi- universelle », ce
qui signifie que vous devez vérifier la compatibilité de votre véhicule. Pour ce faire, assurez-vous
que votre voiture figure sur la Liste de véhicules jointe à ce mode d’emploi. Si ce n’est pas le cas,
il est possible qu’elle n’ait pas encore été vérifiée ou que la vérification ait été effectuée posté-
rieurement à l’impression de la liste dont vous disposez. La dernière mise à jour est disponible
sur le site Web www.jane.es.
Si vous l’utilisez sans les connecteurs ISOfix, QUARTZ est de catégorie « universelle », ce qui
signifie qu’il est compatible avec la plupart des sièges de voiture. Nonobstant, si le fabricant du
véhicule indique que les sièges sont prévus pour l’installation de sièges de catégorie « Univer-
selle », la compatibilité est totale.
Veuillez lire attentivement ce mode d’emploi avant d’utiliser le siège auto QUARTZ pour la pre-
mière fois. Assurez-vous que toutes les personnes qui vont l’utiliser un jour sont également fami-
liarisées avec son installation et son utilisation convenable. Il a été constaté qu’un pourcentage
élevé d’utilisateurs de sièges auto ne les met pas correctement en place. La compréhension des
