Introduction
The Project 2000 Sliding Step is a resistant to corrosion, lightweight, and has a thermal breaker in case of
high strain. The foot board is constructed of anodized aluminum with anti-slip rubber.
Disassembly of the Project 2000 Sliding Step voids the warranty. Contact Lippert to obtain replacement parts.

Safety
Read and understand all instructions before installing or operating this product. Adhere to all safety labels.
This manual provides general instructions. Many variables can change the circumstances of the instructions,
i.e., the degree of difficulty, operation and ability of the individual performing the instructions. This
manual cannot begin to plot out instructions for every possibility, but provides the general instructions,
as necessary, for effectively interfacing with the device, product or system. Failure to correctly follow the
provided instructions may result in death, serious personal injury, severe product and/or property damage,
including voiding of the LCI limited warranty.
Do not step on a retracted step. Stepping on a retracted step can cause personal injury and/or
severely damage the motor. Extend the step to safely use the product as intended.
Moving parts can pinch, crush or cut. Keep clear and use caution.

Operation
Do not walk on the step until it is completely stopped. Do not interfere with the step while in
operation. Doing so may cause serious personal injury.
Make sure that children are away from the electric step when it is in motion.
1. Park the unit on level ground.
2. Press and hold the switch to extend the step. The motion will continue until the step is completely
extended when it will automatically stop. Release the switch.
3. Press and hold the switch to retract the step. The motion will stop when the step is completely
retracted. Release the switch.
NOTE: Some step models offer a safety feature which provides automatic closure of the steps when the
vehicle is started.

Step Open: Alert Indicator will be active when ignition is switched on.
NOTE: D+ should be a positive line that comes from the vehicle any time the parking brake is disengaged
or the ignition is engaged.

Maintenance
1. Make sure unit is parked on a stable, level surface.
2. Make sure power to the unit is turned off and/or disconnected.
Troubleshooting
Prior to starting maintenance procedures, disconnect power to the step’s electrical system to
prevent inadvertent operation of the step.
3. After driving on roads that are salted, wash the step with fresh water.
NOTE: If protective panels need to be removed for service or maintenance, reinstall panels as soon as
possible after service/maintenance has been completed.

Emergency Operation
1. The sliding electric single step is equipped with a manual activation option.
2. Locate the hole under the step.
3. Using a screwdriver, insert it into the hole (Fig. 1).
4. Push up the driving gear with the screwdriver to disengage the electric motor.
5. Move the step to the desired position.
6. Remove the screwdriver to lower the driving gear and stop the step from moving.
