VELA POP-UP ROOF
VELA POP-UP ROOF
The Vela pop-up Roof is a manually operated van roof-
mounted sleeper. The pop-up Roof has a solid roof with a
canvas body that includes:
• Double bed
• Screened windows
• Hot or cold circulation
• Ceiling lights
• Storage shelving
• Flexible LED lamps
• USB Ports

OPERATION
PREPARATION
1. Make sure camper van is level.
2. Make sure camper van is properly supported and secured.
A. Engage brakes.
B. Chock all tires.
C. Make sure wind speeds do not exceed 25mph, if so the pop-up MUST remain in the closed position or
damage could occur.

OPERATION
OPEN THE POP-UP
1. From inside the camper van, release the
clips on the two safety belts by pressing
on both sides of the clip. The upper
portion of the pop-up will move freely.
2. Attach the ladder supplied to the specific
hooks. Climb the ladder to reach the
release button. Grab handle with one
hand, then at the same time press the
release button and push the handle
upwards.
3. After unlocking the roof, grab both
handles and push the roof upwards.
OPERATION
CLOSE THE POP-UP
1. Attach the supplied ladder on the hooks.
2. Climb the ladder to inspect the pop-up
roof to make sure the windows are
properly closed.
3. Grip both roof handles and pull down as
evenly as possible. Do NOT completely
close the pop-up roof at this point.
4. Make sure that the canvas is folded
correctly inside to prevent jamming of
the built-in mechanism or the locking
latch.
5. Walk around the vehicle and visually
inspect the pop-up roof for any canvas
material sticking out of the frame. If
necessary, carefully tuck in any
protruding material.
6. From inside the vehicle, continue to
lower the roof until it is completely
closed. A clicking sound should be
heard, signifying the locking system has

OPERATION
CLOSE THE POP-UP
7. To make sure the pop-up locking system has
been engaged, grab the handles on the roof
with both hands and push upwards. If the
upward pressure on the roof does not change
its position significantly on both sides, then
the locking system is properly engaged.
8. Clip the safety belts closed to secure the roof.
9. Inspect the outside of the pop-up to make
sure it has completely closed.
Do NOT exceed maximum speed limit of 80
mph

MAINTENANCE
1. Inspect and treat the canvas every 12-14 months.
A. Treat clean seams with high quality seam seal.
B. Allow seam seal to completely dry before closing top.
C. If needed, apply Kiwi® Camp Dry water repellent, or equivalent quality, spray to the canvas.
2. Use care when cleaning the pop-up Roof System. Using harsh detergents and hard bristled brushes can damage
the roof's canvas material.
A. Only use clean water.
B. Gently clean the canvas by hand.
C. Test all cleaning products prior to use. Apply a small amount of the cleaning product to an inconspicuous
area.
3. Canvas MUST be completely dry before closing/storing pop-up roof.
Cleaning External Pop-up Roof Surfaces
Use a small amount of mild, Eco-friendly detergent to prevent damaging the pop-up's material and to protect the
environment. When using a hose or power sprayer, make sure to use a weak jet stream of clean water. Use a clean, soft
sponge. Rinse sponge often. Rinse washed surfaces clean with plenty of clean water. Allow the roof to completely dry
before closing the pop-up roof.
Cleaning Internal Pop-up Roof Surfaces
Use a clean, soft cloth and mild, eco-friendly detergents. Allow internal surfaces to completely dry before using the
sleeping area or closing the pop-up roof. Immediately treat any stains on the fabric covering the roof. Absorb stains
without rubbing Do not use harsh detergents
