Installation and Setup
Hardware Provided
The system contains the transmitter keypad, an instruction booklet, an antenna, a strip of Velcro, rubber feet,
ethernet cable, and a 12-VDC power adapter.
Not ce: Operation is subject to the followin :
• This device may or may not cause interference.
• This device will accept any interference includin interference that may cause undesired oper-
ation of the unit.
Not ce: To reduce potential radio interference to other users, the antenna type and ain should be so
chosen that the equivalent isotropically radiated power (EIRP) is not more than required for
successful communication.
Installation Procedure
The followin is the basic installation procedure:
CAUTION: Do not mount t e transmitter antenna near any large metal objects.
1. Un-wrap all system components.
2. Twist the 3” antenna onto the silver connector located on the rear of the transmitter.
3. Plu the power adapter into a standard 110/220V outlet and insert the barrel connector end into
the port located on the rear of the antenna.
4. Upon completion of setup, make sure pa ers are fully char ed and/or have ood batteries and are
powered on.
5. The systems are shipped ready for the most eneral use. If you need to modify settin s, refer to
the table of contents to locate a specific function uideline.

Keypad Description
Before usin the keypad, read the followin keypad descriptions.
Note: As t e display c anges, t e keys may perform different functions.
Initial Power Up and Time Set
1. After the transmitter initializes, the set date menu is shown, type in the current date (Usin
MM/DD/YY) and press ENTER.
2. When the display asks to enter time, type in the current time and select F1 (AM) or F2 (PM).

Basic Paging Operation Guide

staff pa ers are not on the char in unit and all battery-operated pa ers are turned on.

3. When the customer’s table is ready, at the Guest Screen, enter the pa er number assi ned to the
customer.
Canned or Special Alphanumeric Messages
Using Message Codes
When prompted for a messa e on the T7470 Transmitter (T7470):
1. Enter messa e number code (and an extension number – optional).
2. Press ENTER.
Example: Send a messa e to call extension 123.
• From Canned Messa e Table choose – 006 (Call Ext).
• Enter code 0-0-6-1-2-3 (Displays: CALL EXT 123).
Note: T ese non-editable messages are built into t e transmitter. If using Alp anumeric pagers, ad-
ditional messages can be created (see Create Additional Alp anumeric Messages on pg. 16).

Special Functions
User Password
All of the functions that adjust pa in preferences are protected by a Password.
• To reduce tamperin with critical settin s, the keypad is password protected.
• The Password 56789 allows you to enter most restricted pro rammin screens.
• Press F4 at any menu to return to the Guest menu.
Theft-Deterrent Function
Theft deterrent is used to alert staff and uests that they are leavin the premises while still carryin the
coaster/pa er.
When Activated:
• The transmitter sends a si nal to the coaster/pa er, and if the si nal is not received, the
coaster/pa er will emit a continuous beep sound until it is returned to the char in unit or back
in ran e.
• The LED screen on the alphanumeric pa ers will display “OUT OF RANGE”.
• When theft deterrent mode is active, a “T” will display on the upper left corner of the transmit-
ter display.
To Activate:
1. Press SETUP and enter Password.
2. Press 1 (SYSTEM).
3. Press 1 (Anti-Theft).
4. Press F1 (YES) to turn theft mode on (Press F2 (NO) to turn off).
5. Main screen display will show “T “ on upper left corner when turned on.
Note: Anti-T eft does not work wit t e RX-SP4.
W en Anti-T eft is enable, Repeat Delay is Disabled.

Trac ing
This function allows the host to monitor which Guest or Staff pa er has been pa ed, and continues pa in ,
based on a user defined interval and run time settin . The pa er number is cleared on the keypad unit when
run time is complete or when user clears the number by press the Function Key (F1-F4) under the number.
To turn Tracking on (or off):
1. Press SETUP and enter Password.
2. Press F2 (DN) until screen displays 1) Trackin .
3. Select 1 (Trackin ).
4. Select 1) Enable.
5. Press F1 (YES) or F2 (NO).
To Use Tracking
1. Pa e the uest or staff pa er usin the basic
pa in procedure.
2. The pa er number will appear at the bottom of
the screen si nifyin that the pa er is bein pa ed.
3. When the pa e has been received and acknowled ed, clear the pa e by pressin the F1, F2 or
F3 key under the pa er number shown on the keypad display.
• If more than 3 pa ers are in the queue “”will be shown at the ri ht of the display.
• Press F4 to see the rest of the list.
Custom Trac ing
Trac ing Intervals
The trackin feature can be set to a user defined duration and pa in intervals.
Duration
The Duration is the total amount of time the repeated pa es will continue for in seconds.
For example, if you choose 120 seconds, the T7470 Transmitter will continue to pa e at the predefined in-
terval until the overall 2 minutes (120 seconds) is timed out.
The default duration is 90 seconds.
The duration can be set for 0-3600 seconds.
To Set the Duration
1. Press SETUP and enter Password.
2. Press 1) system.
3. Press F2 (DN) until display shows 1) Trackin .
4. Press 1.
5. Select 2) Duration.
6. Type in a new time, in seconds and press ENTER.
Note: Entering 0 will make t e Duration run “Forever”

Interval
The Interval defines how many seconds of time passes between pa es.
The default Interval is 10 seconds.
The Interval can be set from 10-255 seconds.
To set the Interval
1. Press SETUP and enter Password.
2. Press 1) system.
3. Press F2 (DN) until display shows 1) Trackin .
4. Press 2.
5. Select 3) Interval.
6. Type in a new time, in seconds, and press ENTER.
Group Paging
General Purpose
This function is used with Alpha pa ers. These pa ers can be pro rammed to respond to roup calls. Ten
roups are available and each pa er can be a member of 5 roups. Each pa er will respond to its individ-
ual number and to any roups it belon s to. See example below.
Group Paging Rules
General rules for pa in roups are:
• Pa ers must be pro rammed in the roup mode.
• Staff pa ers must be numbered above 100. (1-99 are reserved for roups)
• Any alphanumeric pa er can be a member of up to 5 roups.

Paging Groups
1. Enter the number for the pa er or the roup.
• If only pa in staff pa ers and have the transmitter default set to Pa er, enter the pa er or
roup number directly.
• If pa in , default is set to Guest, press Staff before enterin the pa er or roup number.
2. Enter the messa e to send.
3. Press ENTER.
To Turn Group Paging On/Off
1. Press SETUP and enter the Password.
2. Press 1 (System).
3. Press F2 (DN) until display shows 1) POCSAG.
4. Press F2 Down until screen shows 2) Group Pa in
5. Press 2) Group Pa in
6. Press F1 (Yes) or F4 (No).
Manager Mapping
The Mana er Map function allows the user to store up to 10 mana er cell phone numbers to use in situa-
tions where the mana er’s cell phone would be alerted. Example functions would include a times alarm or a
tri ered Dry Contact. Mana er numbers will be stored in pa er numbers 501-510.
Note: Requires cell paging to be enabled.
1. Press SETUP and enter Password.
2. Press 1 (System).
3. Press F2 (DN) until screen shows 3) Mana er Map.
4. Press 3) Mana er Map.
5. Type in a pa er number 501-510.
6. Type in a mana er’s cell phone number to correspond to the pa er number and press ENTER.
Dry Contacts
The Dry Contact are contacts or switches that are connected throu h a wire to the T7470, for example:
Doorbell. This sensor can send a messa e to the pa er or cell phone when an event occurs (e. ., alarms if
a door is opened). To make a Dry Contact alert the mana er’s cell phone when the contact is tri ered: This
function requires Network Enabled, cell pa in ON, a mana er cell phone number mapped, and a valid ac-
count. Default settin for the Contact Sensor is OFF. To pro ram the Contact Sensor (Dry Contact):
1. Press SETUP and enter the Password.
2. Press F2 (DN) until the display shows 1: Dry Contact.
3. Select 1 (1: Dry Contact).
4. At the Contact Menu screen - select 1 (1: Pro Contacts).
5. Select contact to pro ram - press 1 (1: Contact #1) or 2 (2: Contact #2).
6. The Screen will show if Contact Sensor is currently on or off:
• Press F1 to turn the function ON.
• Press F2 to turn the function OFF.

7. If select ON, select for the sensor to set as:
• Press F4 for Normally Closed (this is the default settin ).
• Press F1 for Normally Open.
8. Enter the pa er number that will be pa er when this event occurs (Pa er Num = - - - - ) and press ENTER.
9. Enter a User Messa e:
• Press F2 to create a new messa e, use the 1-9 keys to enter the text, and then press ENTER to Save.
• Press F1 to edit the current messa e.
10. Select pa in type mode - F1 (STAFF), F4 (GUEST).
11. Press F4 to EXIT.

Set Alarms
This function is used to set the transmitter to pa e an individual or all STAFF pa ers at a specific time or on
a timed interval. The transmitter can send 10 different time alarms or periodic alarms. Alarms may be set to
pa e a specific pa er (or all pa ers) or cell phone at a specific time every day. To make an alarm contact the
mana er’s cell phone, this function requires Network Enabled, cell phone pa in ON, a mana er cell phone
number mapped, and a valid account.
1. Press SETUP and enter Password.
2. Press 1 (System).
3. Press F2 (DN) until display shows 3) ALARMS.

4. Select 3 (3: ALARMS).
5. From the Alarm menu, select the number of the alarm to set (0 throu h 9) and press ENTER.
6. The Alarm Display screen shows the status of the selected alarm. Select Chan e (F1) to en-
able/disable or modify the alarm.
Note: If t e alarm is already enabled as an interval alarm:
• Press F1 (YES) to reset the timer and return to the pa in menu.
• Press F4 (NO) to continue to the ON/OFF menu.
7. At Enable menu select F1 (YES) to enable the alarm or F4 (NO) to disable the alarm.
8. Select the type of alarm 1 (Interval), 2 (Daily), or 3 (Weekly).
Interval Alarms are alarms that re-pa e a staff pa er at re ular intervals.
1. Enter the desired time interval in hours and minutes (HH:MM) and Press ENTER.
2. Enter pa er number to be alerted.
3. Type in canned messa e (See Table on p . 8) and press ENTER.
Da ly Alarms are alarms that re-pa e a staff pa er at a particular time every day.
1. At the Time of Day menu enter the time for alarm.
2. Select F1 (AM) or F2 (PM).
3. Type in pa er number to be alerted and press ENTER.
4. Type in canned messa e (See Table on p . 8) and press ENTER.
Weekly Alarms are alarms that will pa e a staff pa e on a certain day of the week.
1. Select the Day of Week to pa e. Use F2 (DN) to scroll throu h Wednesday throu h Saturday.
2. Enter the Time of Day (HH:MM) for the alarm.
3. Press F1 (AM) and F2 (PM).
4. Type pa er number to pa e and press ENTER.
5. Type in canned messa e (See Table on p . 8) and press ENTER.
6. At Set pa er Number menu, either:
• Enter the number of the pa er to be alarmed followed by ENTER.
OR
• Press F1 (KEEP) to use the existin number.
Note: Entering pager number 911 will page all Alp a pagers.

Feature Setup Procedures
User Password
All of the functions that adjust pa in preferences are protected by a Password.
• To reduce tamperin with critical settin s, the keypad is password protected.
• The Password 56789 allows you to enter most restricted pro rammin screens.
• Press F4 at any menu to return to the Guest menu.
Set Manager Password
To chan e the Mana er Password:
1. Press SETUP and enter Password.
2. Press F2 (DN).
3. Select 2) Mana er Password.
4. Type in new 5 di it Mana er Password and press Enter.
Set Page Mode
This pro rams how uest and staff pa ers will respond when pa ed. Guest pa ers can flash, beep, low, flash
and beep, etc. To set the modes:
1. Press SETUP and enter Password.
2. Press F2 (DN).
3. Select 3) Pa e Mode.
4. Select 1 (1:Guest) or 2 (2:Staff).
Guest Pager - Select:
Note: An asterisk next to a mode indicates t at is t e current Paging Mode.
Press 1) Flash/Beep/Glow.
Select a pa e Mode.
1) Flash 30 sec.
2) Flash 5 mins.
3) Beep/Flash.
Press F2 (DN).
1) Flash 1 sec.
2) Glow 15 times.
3) Glow 5 mins.

To turn Alphanu eric Guest Paging Vibration On or Off:
Select 2) Alphanumeric Vibe.
Press F1 (yes) to turn Alphanumeric Vibration On of F2 (No) for Off.
Manager Pager - Select:
1) Vibe 1 time.
2) Vibe 2 times.
3) Vibe 3 times.

1) Vibe continuously.

Set to Page Staff or Guest Pagers
In cases where the unit will always be pa in staff pa ers, the transmitter default can be set to pa e either
Guest or Staff pa ers. Factory default is Guest:
1. Press SETUP and enter Password.
2. Select 1 (1: Default Mode).
3. Select 1 (Guest Pa in ) for uest pa er or 2 (Staff Pa in ) for staff pa er.
Create Alphanumeric Messages
If your staff pa ers are alphanumeric, they can display 77 different pre-set messa es (numbered 000 throu h
076), and 22 additional user-defined messa es of up to 32 characters per messa e (077 throu h 099).
1. Press SETUP and enter Password.
2. Press 3) Other.
3. Press 1) Canned Messa e.
4. At the Canned Ms .# screen select F3 (EDIT) to edit messa e, (use (F1 (up) or F2 (DN) to scroll
throu h messa es to edit).
5. If no messa e exists at the Edit Messa e screen, type a new messa e. If a messa e exists, press
F3 (EDIT) to chan e it. Enter the desired messa e usin the number keys, waitin until the cur-
sor moves between letters (i.e. for letter ‘E’ press #2 twice). Similar to a Cell Phone.
6. Press the ENTER key to save your messa e.

Set Date:
1. Press SETUP and press 1) System enter Password.
2. Press 3) Date/Time.
3. Press 3) Set Date.
4. Enter Date (MM/DD/YY) (e. . March 11, 2010 = 03/11/10) and press ENTER.

1. Press SETUP and enter Password.
2. Press 3) Date/Time.

5. Enter Time (--:--) (e. . 08:30) and select F1 (AM ) or F2 (PM).

Repeat Delay
When usin a repeater, it may be necessary to add a delay between pa es when pa in multiple pa ers to
allow the repeater time to repeat the si nal and detect the next one. To add repeat delay:
1. Press SETUP.
2. Enter Password.
3. Press 1) System.
4. Press F2 (DN) until the display shows 2) Repeat Delay.
5. Press 2 (2: Repeat Delay).
6. Select F1 (Yes) to enable or F4 (No) to disable.
Note: If Repeat Delay is enabled, Anti-T eft will be disabled.
ID Span
In very lar e systems up to 9999 Guest pa ers can be pa ed. To do this, ID Span is required. This function
disables normal System ID functions except for Staff Pa in and allows the pro rammin of Guest Pa ers from
1000 to 9999.
To use ID Span:
1. Press SETUP.
2. Enter Password.
3. Press 3) Other.
4. Press 2) ID Span.
5. Select F1 (YES) to enable or F4 (NO) to disable.
Alphanumeric Pager Button Enable/Disable
The buttons on an Alpha Pa er can be enabled or disabled.
1. Press SETUP and enter Password.
2. Press 1 for 1) System.
3. Press F2 (DN) until 1)POCSAG-> is displayed.
4. Press 1 for 1)POCSAG->.
5. Press 2 for 2) Btns Enabled.
6. Press F1 (Yes) to enable Alpha Pa er buttons, or press F4 (No) to disable Alpha Pa er buttons.
Alpha Pager Vibration Level
The stren th of vibration when an Alpha Pa er receives a Vibration Alert can be varied.
1. Press SETUP and enter Password.
2. Press 1 (System).
3. Press F2 (DN) until screen show 1 (POCSAG).
4. Press 1 (POCSAG).
5. Press F2 (DN) until screen displays 3 (Vibe Stren th).
6. Press 3 (Vibe Stren th).

7. Press F1 (UP) to increase the level or F2 (DN) to lower the level.
8. Press F4 (Done) when finished.
Guest Message
The Guest Messa e is the default canned messa e sent to Guest Alpha Pa ers. To chan e the messa e.
1. Press SETUP and enter Password.
2. Press 1 for 1) System.
3. Press F2 (DN) until 1)POCSAG-> is displayed.
4. Press 1 for 1)POCSAG->.
5. Press 3 for 3) Guest Messa e.
6. Type a number 00-99 for selected canned messa e and press ENTER.

Display the Guest and Staff Prompt
When pa in Guest or Staff Alpha Pa ers, the user is shown a prompt:

To Enable or Disable Seeing This Prompt While Paging:
1. Press SETUP and enter Password.
2. Press 1 (System).
3. Press F2 (DN) until screen shows 1 (POCSAG).
4. Press 1 (POCSAG).
5. Press F2 (DN) until screen show 1 (Ms Editin ).
6. Press 1.
7. Press 1 to select Guest or Staff.
8. Press 3) Auto send.
9. Press F1 (Yes) or F4 (No).
If Display Prompt is disabled, the messa e sent will default to the Guest or Staff Messa e.
Using Canned Messages in Staff and Guest Display Prompt
The user has the option of how the Canned Messa e can be used as part of the Guest or Staff Display Prompt.
Default Canned
The user can type and edit the messa e, but the messa e starts with a precanned messa e.
