NEC Xen Master/Axis - Quick User Guide
MAKING CALLS:
To make a call to a other exte sio :
•Lift ha dset or press Speaker key.
•Dial exte sio umber, (100,101,102 etc.) or press Direct Station Key if programmed.
•Dial 1 if you wish the call to go direct to ha dsfree.
To make a outside call:
•Lift ha dset or press Speaker key.
•Dial 0.
•Dial telepho e umber.
To make a outside call usi g speed dial (see below to program speed dial):
•Lift ha dset or press Speaker key.
•Press Redial key
•Dial speed dial locatio umber (System 00-79, Perso al 80-99)
To make a outside call usi g Alpha Speed dialli g:
•DO NOT lift ha dset or press Speaker key.
•Press key below display (for System speed dial press key below “SYS”)
(for Perso al speed dial press key below “STA”).
•Either press key below “U ” or “DOWN” to search ames or
Select the first letter of the ame by usi g the dial pad the press “ * ” to show ames
for that letter.
•Lift ha dset or press Speaker key to dial.
To make a call usi g Last Number Redial:
•Lift ha dset or press Speaker key.
•Press Redial key.
•Dial “ # ”.
To make a call usi g Automatic Redial:
After maki g a exter al call to a busy party:
•Press Speaker key.
•Replace ha dset.
•Press Feature key.
•Press Redial key.
•Lift ha dset whe call gets through.
ANSWERING CALLS:
To a swer a outside call:
•If ri gi g at your ha dset – Lift ha dset or press Speaker key.
•If ot ri gi g at your ha dset – Lift ha dset a d press the flashi g “I/C call” key.
•Whe the call is a swered it will ‘jump’ to a “li e” key.
To a swer a i tercom or tra sferred call:
•If ri gi g at your ha dset – Lift ha dset or press Speaker key.
•If ot ri gi g at your ha dset – Lift ha dset a d dial a call pick-up code.
All calls – 68 (outside or i ter al).
I tercom/tra sferred calls – 67 + extension number (100,101,102 etc.)

TRANSFERRING CALLS:
To tra sfer a call from Receptio pho e:
Method 1:
•A swer or make a call (call will ‘jump’ to a “li e” key o a swer).
•Press the Hold key.
•Press the Direct Station Key.
•A ou ce the call a d the “li e” umber.
•Ha g up.
Method 2:
•A swer or make a call as above.
•Press Transfer key.
•Press the Direct Station Key.
•A ou ce the call.
•Ha g up a d the call will be tra sferred.
To tra sfer a call from other pho es:
Method 1:
•A swer or make a call (call will ‘jump’ to a “li e” key o a swer).
•Press Hold key.
•Dial exte sio umber (100,101,102 etc.)
•A ou ce the call a d the “li e” umber.
•Ha g up.
Method 2:
•A swer or make call as above.
•Press Transfer key.
•Dial exte sio umber (100,101,102 etc.)
•A ou ce the call.
•Ha g up a d the call will be tra sferred.
To retur to the caller:
•Press green flashing “line” key.
To tra sfer calls OFF SITE (ie: to a mobile pho e or a other bra ch):
•A swer or make call as above. DO NOT put the call o hold.
•Press the RECALL key
•Dial the telepho e umber.
•Wait for the called party to a swer.
•To tra sfer, press RECALL butto a d dial “ 4 ”, wait for ‘beep beep’ to e the ha g up.
•To retur to the origi al caller, press RECALL butto a d dial “ 1 ”.

CONFERENCE CALLS:
To make a co fere ce call:
•A swer or make a call as above.
•Press Conf key.
•Make a other call (i ter al – 101,102 etc. or exter al – “ 0 ” + pho e umber).
•A ou ce the co fere ce
•Press Conf key to establish the co fere ce.
NB: To add more parties, repeat the above procedure (maximum 2 outside parties). For a u supervised
co fere ce, press the Co f key o ce more after establishi g the co fere ce a d the parties ca co verse i
private. To retur to the co fere ce, press the flashi g Co f key.
PAGING:
To page all exte sio s:
•Lift ha dset
•Dial “ 51 ”.
•Make a ou ceme t.
•Press receiver dow with ha d the ha g up.
BACKGROUND MUSIC:
To tur backgrou d music o /off (where available):
•DO NOT lift ha dset.
•Press Feature key
•Dial “ 26 ”.
VOLUME CONTROL:
To set ri gi g volume at your ha dset:
•Press Speaker
•Dial “ 60 ”.
•Dial “ 1 ”.
•Press ▲ or ▼ to set level.
•Press Speaker.
PROGRAMMING SPEED DIAL NUMBERS:
To program speed dial umbers:
•Press Feature key.
•Press Redial key.
•Dial locatio umber (00-79 for system umbers, 80-99 for perso al umbers).
•Dial “ 0 ” + telepho e umber to be stored.
•Press Hold key
•Key i Name usi g the alpha keys o the dial pad. (Ie: For “A” press the umber 2
butto o ce, for “B” press it twice a d so o ).
•Press Feature key.

RECEPTION (EXTENSION 100) ONLY FEATURES
SET TIME AND DATE
To set time a d date (at receptio exte sio 100 o ly):
•Press Feature key.
•Dial “ 9 ” the “ # ”.
•Press Recall key for AM or PM.
•Press Hold key
•Press Recall key for day of week.
•Press # to move curser to ‘day’ a d e ter correct day usi g dial pad.
•Press Recall key to select correct mo th.
•Press # to move curser to ‘year’ a d e ter correct year usi g dial pad.
•Press Feature key to e d.
NIGHTSWITCH:
To tur ightswitch o /off (at receptio exte sio 100 o ly):
Either press “Nightswitch” key (if programmed) or
•Press Feature key
•Dial “ 80 ”
•Press Answer key
•Press Feature key
AFTER HOURS MESSAGES:
To retrieve after hours messages (at receptio exte sio 100 o ly):
•Lift ha dset or press Speaker key.
•Dial “ 203 ”.
•If prompted e ter PIN umber “ 9100 ”.
•Follow voice prompts to retrieve the erase messages.
NB: It is recomme ded that messages be erased after retrieval so that the voicemail
memory does ot fill up.
