Congratulations for choosing the Neopost IJ-15K mailing ma-
chine. The IJ-15K is the result of the expertise and innovative
capabilities of the worldwide Neopost group and using ink jet
technology, it will integrate into your working environment to
enhanceyourmailprocessingoperation.
TheIJ15Kmailingsystemisdedicatedtotheproductioninserter
environment connected either mechanicaly or electronically to
highspeedinserterupto15Kenvelopes/hour.
TheIJ-15Kisauniquecommunicationtoolforyourcompany.Its
high quality printing combined with its integrated library of
advertisementmessages,mailclasstextsandfreeformattextwill
give you extra tools to enhance your company’s image and the
impactofyourmail.
The IJ-15K has many capabilities that are important to your
business:
Aswellasbeingproductive(upto250lettersperminute),theIJ-
15Kisdesignedtobeauserfriendlymachinethatcanfitintothe
productionenvironmentwithitsinnovativeandattractivedesign,
simple user settings and very low noise level. The high volume
capacity ink system makes it easy and safe to handle, and the
userinterfaceisparticularlyclearwithatouchgraphicdisplayand
popupmenus.
TheIJ-15Kisadaptableandassuchcanhandlemanydifferent
typesofmail.Themachinecanbeusedtoprocess,inacontinuous
cycle, items of different sizes (ranging from postcards to large
flats)anditemsofvariousthickness(upto5/8inch),withautomatic
imprintshift.Forthickermailitemsorpackages,adhesivelabels
canbeautomaticallydispensed.
It’s automatic thickness adjustment and inkjet printing ensure
reliableprocessingandqualityimprintsincludingthickanduneven
material.

yourself,therearenouserserviceablepartscontainedandtheIJ-15K
productislicensedforuseonlyundertheconditionsofthePostOffice
rules.Thislicenseisissuedsubjecttotheproductbeingsecureatall
times.Anyremovalofcoversordis-assemblyoftheproductwillresult
in the license being revoked and may result in the Post Office
requesting Neopost to remove the product from use.
The inking system used within the IJ-15K contains Post Office
approved ink. This cartridge should not be tampered with in any way
or the use of non approved inks be attempted. This will breach any
Post Office licence agreement on the product and may result in the
Post Office requesting Neopost to remove the product from use.
FCC COMPLIANCE STATEMENT
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits
for a Class A digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules.
These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against
harmfulinterferencewhentheequipmentisoperatedinacommercial

1.2.1 Prepare the mailing machine
The mailing machine has to be installed on a flat, horizontal
surface.Itisalwaysnearaninserter,connectedornotelectronically.
Pleaseallowsufficientfreespaceasfollows:
-abovethemachinetoenabletheopeningofthecovers.
-attherearofthemachineforcooling.
WiththeO/Iswitchinthe“ O ” position,connectthepowercordto
therearof themachine and toan 110V ACelectrical outlet.
Insertoneendthetelephonecableintothemodemconnectorat
therearofthemachineandtheothertoananalogtelephonewall
jacktoenablePostage-On-Call®resettingconnection.
Forsecuritypurposes,pleaseensurethatalltheitemsare
correctlyassembledprior toswitch on theconfiguration.

1.2.3 Ink reservoir and printhead
ItispossibletoreplacethereservoirwhenthemachineisOFFor
whilemachineisrunninguntilthefinal"inkout"messageappears.
Topreventunprimingofthesystem,thisoperationshouldlastless
thanoneminute.Ifittakeslonger,themachinewillstopautomaticaly
untilltheusercompletestheoperationandrestartsthemachine.
It is possible to replace the printhead when the machine is
switchedon(nopossibilitywhenthemachineisOFF).
WHEN TO REPLACE INK RESERVOIR OR
PRINTHEAD
- Whenthemessage"inklow"isdisplayed,printingmaycontinue;
- When the message "ink very low" is displayed, printing may
continue, but it is strongly recommended to replace the ink
reservoir;
- When the message “ink out” appears, ink reservoir must be
replacedbeforecontinuingoperation.
In the first and second cases, it is possible to replace the
ink reservoir while machine is running.
INK RESERVOIR REPLACE-
MENT PROCESS
If the machine is not running,
switchmachineOFF,then:
- Open the reservoir
door(1).
- Press on the front of
the ink reservoir (2),
thenontherighthand
side (3) in order to
removeit.

- Open the top cover and printhead
cover:theprintheadwillmovetothe
“replacement”position.
- Remove ink
reservoir.
- Insertthenewink
reservoir.
- Press on the
front of the ink
reservoir (1),
then on the left
hand side (2) in
order to lock it.
- Close the
reservoir door
(3).
- Switchmachine
ON.
PRINTHEAD REPLACEMENT
The machine must be switched on.
