INTRODUCTION
WARNING
Hydraulicuidescapingunderpressurecanhaveenoughforcetopenetratetheskin.Hydraulicuidmay
alsoinfectaminorcutoropeningintheskin.Ifinjuredbyescapinguid,seeadoctoratonce.Serious
infectionorreactioncanresultifmedicaltreatmentisnotgivenimmediately.Makesureallconnectionsare
tightandthathosesandlinesareingoodconditionbeforeapplyingpressuretothesystem.Relieveall
pressurebeforedisconnectingthelinesorperformingotherworkonthehydraulicsystem.Tondaleak
underpressureuseasmallpieceofcardboardorwood.Neverusehands.Failuretocomplycouldresultin
deathorseriousinjury.

Thetractorusesthreehydraulicpumpswhicharedriventhroughadrivehousingontherightsideoftherangetrans-
mission.ThepumpdrivehousinggearsaredrivenbythePTOdrivelineandallthepumpsturnatapproximately1.33
timesenginespeed.APFC(pressureandowcompensating)pistonpumpisattachedtothefrontofthepumpdrive
housing,whilethetandemgearpumpsareattachedtotherearofthepumpdrivehousing.
Thefrontsectionofthetandemgearpumpsuppliestheregulatedpressurecircuit:brakevalve,transmissioncontrol
valves,PTOanddifferentiallockvalve,auxiliaryandhitchvalvepilotcircuits.Therearsectionsupplieschargeowto
thePFCpump(s).ThePFCpumpsuppliesowtothepriorityvalve,whichdirectsowtothesteeringsystem,remote
valvesandthethreepointhitch.
AllhydrauliclinesareequippedwithO-ringfacesealstoensurereliable,vibration-resistantconnections.
Charge/lubricationpump
Thecharge/lubricationpumpistherearsectionofthedualgearpumpanditisusedtosupplythemainPFCpump
withachargedinletconditiontopreventcavitation.Thepumpalsosupplieslubricationandcoolingrequirementsfor
thetransmission.
Thepumpdrawsoilfromthetransmissionhousingthrougha100meshsuctionscreen.Thepumpowisdirected
acrossthemainlterassemblytoprovidecleanchargeandlubricationoil.
Thepumpowrateatratedspeed2667RPM(2000RPMenginespeed)is177.0l/min(47.0USgpm).
Regulatedcircuitpump
Theregulatedcircuitpumpisthefrontsectionofthetandemgearpump.Thepumpdrawsoilfromthesystemreservoir
througha100meshsuctionscreen.Thepumpowpassesthroughtheregulatedcircuitlterhousingandintothe
priorityregulatorvalve.Thepriorityregulatorvalvemaintainstheregulatedpressurecircuitat22.4-24.5bar(325
-355psi).TheregulatedpumpowsuppliesthePTO/differentiallockvalve,transmissioncontrolvalvesandbrake
valve.Theremoteandhitchvalvesarealsosuppliedwithregulatedpressure.
Oncethesecircuitsaresatised,theexcessregulatedpumpowisdirectedthroughtheoilcoolersandjoinsupwith
thechargepumpowatthedownstreamsideofthemainlterhead.
Thepumpowrateatratedspeedof2667RPM(2000RPMenginespeed)is102.0l/min(27.0USgpm).
PFCpistonpump
Theaxialpistonpumphasavariableowoutputandcanoperateatvariablepressures.Thepumpmatchesthe
hydraulicpoweroutputtotheactualloadrequirementstoensuremaximumefciencyandtheminimumuseoffuel.
Thepumpinletischargedtopreventcavitation.Thepumpoutputowissuppliedtothepriorityregulatorvalve.The
priorityregulatorvalvegivestopprioritytothesteeringsystemandtrailerbrakecircuit.Oncethesteeringsystemand
trailerbrakecircuitsaresatisedthepriorityregulatorvalvesuppliespumpowtotheremoteauxiliaryvalvesand
threepointhitchvalve.
Themaximumpumpowrateforthestandardpumpatratedspeedof2667RPM(2000RPMenginespeed)is146.0
l/min(38.6USgpm).
NOTE:Thestandardpumpsystemdeliversapproximately113.6l/min(30.0USgpm)throughasingleremotesec-
tion.Thisisduetoresistancecreatedbyoilowingthroughrestrictivepassagewaysandlonglengthsoftubingor
hose.
OptionalhighowPFCpistonpump
AnoptionalhighowPFCpistonpumpisavailable.Thehighowratemaximumpumpowrateatratedspeedof
2667RPM(2000RPMenginespeed)is220l/min(58USgpm).
NOTE:Thehighowpumpsystemdeliversapproximately113.6l/min(30.0USgpm)throughasingleremotesec-
tion.Thisisduetoresistancecreatedbyoilowingthroughrestrictivepassagewaysandlonglengthsoftubingor

signallinepilotrelieffromthestandardPFCpistonpumpcircuit.TheMegaowpumpsuppliesonlythethird,fourth
orfthremotesections.ThetwoPFCpumphydrauliccircuitsoperateindependently.
