Die Gebrauchsanweisung gibt Ihnen wichtige Informationen für das Anpas
sen und Anlegen der Immobilisierungsorthese Malleo Tristep 50S8.
2 Produktbeschreibung
2.1 Produktübersicht
Das Produkt wird anprobefertig im Zustand der Phase1 ausgeliefert (siehe
Abb.1).

2.2 Konstruktion
Die individuell verstellbaren Klettverschlüsse sind gegenläufig angeordnet,
um ein Verdrehen der Orthese zu verhindern.
3 Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
3.1 Verwendungszweck
Die Orthese ist ausschließlich zur orthetischen Versorgung der unteren Ex
tremität einzusetzen und ausschließlich für den Kontakt mit intakter Haut
bestimmt.
Die Orthese muss indikationsgerecht eingesetzt werden.
3.2 Indikationen
• Akute Sprunggelenksverletzungen
• Akute und chronische Kapselbandinstabilitäten

• Entzündliche Gelenkserkrankungen
• Degenerative Sprunggelenkserkrankungen
• Rehabilitation nach Sprunggelenksoperationen
• Innenbandrupturen
Die Indikation wird vom Arzt gestellt.
3.3 Kontraindikationen
3.3.1 Absolute Kontraindikationen
• Die Orthese ist nicht für den Einsatz als Fußheberorthese bei Pero
näusparese geeignet.
3.3.2 Relative Kontraindikationen
Bei nachfolgenden Indikationen ist eine Rücksprache mit dem Arzt erforder
lich: Hauterkrankungen/-verletzungen, Entzündungen, aufgeworfene Narben
mit Schwellung, Rötung und Überwärmung im versorgten Körperabschnitt;
Krampfadern stärkeren Ausmaßes, insbesondere mit Rückfluss-Störungen,
Lymphabfluss-Störungen – auch unklare Weichteilschwellungen körperfern
des Hilfsmittels; Empfindungs- und Durchblutungsstörungen im Bereich des
Fußes, z.B. bei diabetischer Neuropathie.
3.4 Wirkungsweise
Die Versorgung erfolgt in 3Phasen. Die Orthese ist in allen 3Phasen in ei
nem flachen, weit zu öffnenden Schuh tragbar.
Phase I – Entzündungsphase:
Das Fußgelenk wird durch die Verwendung der Orthese mit der Fußschale
(siehe Abb.2, Pos.1) und dem Stabilisierungsgurt (siehe Abb.2, Pos.2) in
Neutralstellung (90°) immobilisiert und stabilisiert.
Phase II – Proliferationsphase:
Die Fußschale kann tagsüber entfernt werden. Die Orthese wird zur Stabili
sierung mit dem Stabilisierungsgurt getragen (siehe Abb.3). In der Nacht
wird die Fußschale zur Immobilisierung und Stabilisierung des Fußgelenks
adaptiert. Tagsüber ermöglicht das Entfernen der Fußschale eine gezielte
und gesicherte Mobilisierung und Belastung des Fußgelenks.
Phase III – Remodulationsphase:
Gegen Ende des Heilungsprozesses wird der Stabilisierungsgurt entfernt.
Die Orthese kann zur Unterstützung gegen erneute Verletzungen und Se
kundärprävention aufgrund der hohen Rerupturrate, z.B. beim Sport oder
anderen Aktivitäten, eingesetzt werden (siehe Abb.4). Optional kann der
Stabilisierungsgurt angebracht werden.

4 Sicherheit

5 Handhabung
INFORMATION
►Die tägliche Tragedauer und der Anwendungszeitraum werden in der
Regel vom Arzt festgelegt.
►Die erstmalige Anpassung und Anwendung des Produkts darf nur
durch Fachpersonal erfolgen.
►Weisen Sie den Patienten in die Handhabung und Pflege des Produkts
ein.
►Weisen Sie den Patienten darauf hin, dass er umgehend einen Arzt
aufsuchen soll, wenn er außergewöhnliche Veränderungen an sich
feststellt (z.B. Zunahme der Beschwerden).
5.1 Auswählen der Größe
►Die Orthesengröße anhand der Schuhgröße auswählen (siehe Größen
tabelle).
5.2 Anpassen und Anlegen
VORSICHT
Unsachgemäßes Anformen oder Anlegen
Verletzungen und Beschädigungen an der Orthese durch Überbelastung
des Materials und falscher Sitz der Orthese durch Bruch tragender Teile
►Nehmen Sie keine unsachgemäßen Veränderungen an der Orthese
vor.
►Legen Sie die Orthese immer gemäß den Anweisungen in der Anlei
tung an.

Phase I – Entzündungsphase:
> Alle Klettverschlüsse der Orthese sind geöffnet.
> Der Patient liegt.
1) Den Fuß im 90° Winkel in der Orthese positionieren (siehe Abb.5).
2) Den mittleren Klettverschluss (MarkierungI) der Orthese schließen
(siehe Abb.6).
3) Den unteren Klettverschluss (MarkierungII) der Orthese schließen.
4) Den oberen Klettverschluss (MarkierungIII) der Orthese schließen.
5) Optional: Die Klettverschlüsse kürzen oder versetzen.
6) Den Fuß des Patienten im 90° Winkel in sitzender Position aufstellen.
7) Die Fußschale medial und lateral abkletten und so nachziehen, dass
sich der Fuß in Neutralstellung (90°) befindet (siehe Abb.7).
INFORMATION: Das Tragen eines Strumpfs unter der Orthese, so
wie die Verwendung der beigefügten Polster (siehe Abb.1, Pos.4)
beugen bei druckempfindlichen Patienten Hautirritationen im Be
reich der Fußschale vor.
8) Das laterale (äußere) Ende des Stabilisierungsgurt nach medial (innen)
über den Spann führen (siehe Abb.8).
9) Den Stabilisierungsgurt unter der Fußschale nach lateral (außen) ziehen
(siehe Abb.9).
10) Den Stabilisierungsgurt lateral (außen) am oberen Ende der Fußschale
ankletten (siehe Abb.10).
11) Das mediale (innere) Ende des Stabilisierungsgurt nach lateral (außen)
über den Spann führen (siehe Abb.11).

12) Den Stabilisierungsgurt unter der Fußschale nach medial (innen) ziehen
(siehe Abb.12).
13) Den Stabilisierungsgurt medial (innen) am oberen Ende der Fußschale
ankletten (siehe Abb.13).
14) Optional: Den Stabilisierungsgurt kürzen.
Phase II – Proliferationsphase:
1) Den Stabilisierungsgurt öffnen.
2) Die Orthese öffnen und ablegen.
3) Die Fußschale von der Orthese entfernen (siehe Abb.14).
4) Die Orthese anlegen und die Klettverschlüsse der Orthese schließen.
5) Den Stabilisierungsgurt wieder, wie in Phase1 beschrieben, an der Or
these verschließen.
Phase III – Remodulationsphase:
1) Den Stabilisierungsgurt öffnen und entfernen (siehe Abb.15).
2) Die Orthese wird in dieser Phase ohne Stabilisierungsgurt und Fußscha
le getragen.
3) Optional: Den Stabilisierungsgurt wieder, wie in Phase1 beschrieben,
an der Orthese verschließen.
5.3 Reinigung
HINWEIS
Verwendung falscher Reinigungsmittel
Beschädigung des Produktes durch falsche Reinigungsmittel
►Reinigen Sie das Produkt nur mit den zugelassenen Reinigungsmitteln.
Textilkomponente:
1) Die Fußschale von der Orthese entfernen.
2) Alle Klettverschlüsse schließen.
3) Die Orthese in 30°C warmen Wasser mit einem handelsüblichen Fein
waschmittel waschen. Gut ausspülen.
4) An der Luft trocknen lassen. Direkte Hitzeeinwirkung vermeiden (z.B.
durch Sonnenbestrahlung, Ofen- oder Heizkörperhitze).
Fußschale:
1) Die Fußschale mit Ausnahme des Kletts bei Bedarf mit einem feuchten,
flusenfreien Tuch und neutraler Seife abwischen.
2) An der Luft trocknen lassen. Direkte Hitzeeinwirkung vermeiden (z.B.
durch Sonnenbestrahlung, Ofen- oder Heizkörperhitze).

6 Entsorgung
Das Produkt gemäß den geltenden nationalen Vorschriften entsorgen.
7 Rechtliche Hinweise
Alle rechtlichen Bedingungen unterliegen dem jeweiligen Landesrecht des
Verwenderlandes und können dementsprechend variieren.
7.1 Haftung
Der Hersteller haftet, wenn das Produkt gemäß den Beschreibungen und
Anweisungen in diesem Dokument verwendet wird. Für Schäden, die durch
Nichtbeachtung dieses Dokuments, insbesondere durch unsachgemäße
Verwendung oder unerlaubte Veränderung des Produkts verursacht werden,
haftet der Hersteller nicht.
7.2 CE-Konformität
Das Produkt erfüllt die Anforderungen der europäischen Richtlinie
93/42/EWG für Medizinprodukte. Aufgrund der Klassifizierungskriterien
nach AnhangIX dieser Richtlinie wurde das Produkt in die KlasseI einge
stuft. Die Konformitätserklärung wurde deshalb vom Hersteller in alleiniger
Verantwortung gemäß AnhangVII der Richtlinie erstellt.

These instructions for use provide important information on the fitting and
application of the 50S8 Malleo Tristep immobilising orthosis.
2 Product description
2.1 Product overview
The product is delivered ready for trial fitting in phase1 (see fig.1).

2.2 Design
The individually adjustable hook and loop closures are arranged to close in
opposite directions to prevent the orthosis from twisting.
3 Intended use
3.1 Indications for use
The orthosis is intended exclusively for orthotic fittings of the lower limbs
and exclusively for contact with intact skin.
The orthosis must be used in accordance with the indications.
3.2 Indications
• Acute ankle injuries
• Acute and chronic capsular ligament instability
• Inflammatory joint diseases
• Degenerative ankle diseases
• Rehabilitation after ankle surgery
• Medial ligament ruptures
Indications must be determined by the physician.
3.3 Contraindications
3.3.1 Absolute Contraindications
• The orthosis is not suitable for use as a dorsiflexion-assist orthosis for
paralysis of the peroneal nerve.
3.3.2 Relative Contraindications
The following indications require consultation with a physician: skin dis
eases/injuries, inflammation, prominent scars that are swollen, reddening
and hyperthermia of the fitted limb; pronounced varicose veins, especially
with return flow impairment, lymphatic flow disorders, including unclear soft
tissue swelling distant to the body area to which the support will be applied;
sensory and circulatory disorders in the foot area, e.g. in case of diabetic
neuropathy.
3.4 Effects
The orthosis can be used in 3 phases. The orthosis can be worn in all
3phases in a flat shoe that can be opened wide.

Phase I – Inflammatory Phase:
The ankle joint is immobilised and stabilised in the neutral position (90°)
using the orthosis with the foot shell (see fig.2, item1) and the stabilisation
strap (see fig.2, item2).
Phase II – Proliferation Phase:
The foot shell can be removed during the day. The orthosis is worn with the
stabilisation strap to achieve stability (see fig.3). At night, the foot shell is
adapted to immobilise and stabilise the ankle joint. Removing the foot shell
during the day enables targeted and secure mobilisation and loading of the
ankle joint.
Phase III – Remodeling Phase:
Towards the end of the healing process the stabilisation strap is removed.
The orthosis can be used during sports or other activities with a high rerup
ture rate to provide support against new injuries and as secondary preven
tion (see fig.4). The stabilisation strap can be attached optionally.
4 Safety

5 Handling
INFORMATION
►The daily duration of use and period of application are generally
determined by the physician.
►The initial fitting and application of the product must be carried out by
qualified personnel.
►Instruct the patient in the handling and care of the product.
►Instruct the patient to see a physician immediately if any exceptional
changes are noted (e.g. worsening of the complaint).
5.1 Size Selection
►Select the orthosis size based on the shoe size (see sizing table).
5.2 Fitting and Application

Improper moulding or application
Injuries or damage to the orthosis due to overloading of the material and
improper fit of the orthosis due to breakage of load-bearing components
►Do not make any improper changes to the orthosis.
►Always apply the orthosis according to the information in the instruc
tions.

►Before each use, check the product for functional reliability and for
possible wear or damage.
►Do not continue using a product that is no longer functional, or that is
worn or damaged.
Phase I – Inflammatory Phase:
> All hook and loop closures on the orthosis are unfastened.
> The patient is in a lying position.
1) Position the foot at a 90° angle in the orthosis (see fig.5).
2) Fasten the centre hook and loop closure (markingI) of the orthosis (see
fig.6).
3) Fasten the lower hook and loop closure (markingII) of the orthosis.
4) Fasten the upper hook and loop closure (markingIII) of the orthosis.
5) Optional: Shorten or move the hook and loop closures.
6) With the patient sitting, place the foot at a 90° angle sole-down on the
floor.
7) Unfasten the medial and lateral straps of the foot shell and tighten them
so that the foot is in the neutral position (90°) (see fig.7).
INFORMATION: Wearing a sock under the orthosis and using the
padding provided (see fig.1, item4) prevent skin irritation from
the foot shell for patients sensitive to pressure.
8) Guide the lateral (outer) end of the stabilisation strap over the instep
towards the medial side (inwards) (see fig.8).
9) Pull the stabilisation strap laterally (outwards) underneath the foot shell
(see fig.9).

10) Fasten the stabilisation strap on the lateral (outer) side at the upper end
of the foot shell (see fig.10).
11) Guide the medial (inner) end of the stabilisation strap over the instep
towards the lateral side (outwards) (see fig.11).
12) Pull the stabilisation strap medially (inwards) underneath the foot shell
(see fig.12).
13) Fasten the stabilisation strap on the medial (inner) side at the upper end
of the foot shell (see fig.13).
14) Optional: Shorten the stabilisation strap.
Phase II – Proliferation Phase:
1) Unfasten the stabilisation strap.
2) Open and remove the orthosis.
3) Remove the foot shell from the orthosis (see fig.14).
4) Put on the orthosis and fasten the hook and loop closures.
5) Refasten the stabilisation strap as described in phase1.
Phase III – Remodeling Phase:
1) Unfasten and remove the stabilisation strap (see fig.15).
2) The orthosis is worn without the stabilisation strap and foot shell in this
phase.
3) Optional: Refasten the stabilisation strap as described in phase1.
5.3 Cleaning
NOTICE
Use of improper cleaning agents
Damage to the product due to use of improper cleaning agents
►Only clean the product with the approved cleaning agents.
Textile component:
1) Remove the foot shell from the orthosis.
2) Close all hook and loop closures.
3) Wash the orthosis in warm water at 30°C with standard mild detergent.
Rinse thoroughly.
4) Allow to air dry. Do not expose to direct heat sources (e.g. sunlight,
stove or radiator).

Foot shell:
1) If necessary, wipe down the foot shell excluding the hook and loop clos
ures with a moist, lint-free cloth and neutral soap.
2) Allow to air dry. Do not expose to direct heat sources (e.g. sunlight,
stove or radiator).
6 Disposal
Dispose of the product in accordance with national regulations.
7 Legal information
All legal conditions are subject to the respective national laws of the country
of use and may vary accordingly.
7.1 Liability
The manufacturer will only assume liability if the product is used in accord
ance with the descriptions and instructions provided in this document. The
manufacturer will not assume liability for damage caused by disregarding the
information in this document, particularly due to improper use or unauthor
ised modification of the product.
7.2 CE conformity
This product meets the requirements of the European Directive 93/42/EEC
for medical devices. This product has been classified as a class I device
according to the classification criteria outlined in Annex IX of the directive.
The declaration of conformity was therefore created by the manufacturer

2 Description du produit
2.1 Vue d’ensemble du produit
À sa livraison, le produit est prêt à être essayé sur un patient se trouvant
dans la phase1 (voir ill.1).

2.2 Construction
Les fermetures velcro peuvent être réglées séparément et ne sont pas dispo
sées du même côté afin d’éviter tout mouvement de l’orthèse.
3 Utilisation conforme
3.1 Usage prévu
L’orthèse est exclusivement destinée à un appareillage orthétique de
l’extrémité inférieure et elle est conçue uniquement pour entrer en contact
avec une peau intacte.
Il est impératif d’utiliser l’orthèse conformément aux indications.
3.2 Indications
• Lésions aiguës de la cheville
• Instabilités aiguës et chroniques du ligament capsulaire
• Maladies inflammatoires des articulations
• Maladies dégénératives de la cheville
• Rééducation suite à des opérations de la cheville
• Ruptures de ligament interne
L’indication est déterminée par le médecin.
3.3 Contre-indications
3.3.1 Contre-indications absolues
• Cette orthèse n’est pas adaptée pour servir au relèvement du pied en
cas de parésie du péronier.

3.3.2 Contre-indications relatives
Les indications suivantes requièrent la consultation d’un médecin: lésions
ou affections cutanées, inflammations, cicatrices exubérantes avec œdème,
rougeurs et hyperthermie dans la zone du corps appareillée; varices plus im
portantes, en particulier avec troubles du reflux veineux, troubles de la circu
lation lymphatique et également œdèmes inexpliqués des parties molles
dans la partie distale de l’orthèse, troubles de la perception et de la circula
tion sanguine dans la zone du pied, par exemple en cas de neuropathie dia
bétique.
3.4 Effets thérapeutiques
L’appareillage a lieu en 3phases. Au cours de ces 3phases, l’orthèse peut
être portée dans une chaussure plate à large ouverture.
Phase I – Phase d’inflammation:
Grâce à l’utilisation de l’orthèse avec le cale-pied (voir ill.2, pos.1) et la
sangle de stabilisation (voir ill.2, pos.2), l’articulation du pied est immobili
sée et stabilisée en position neutre (90°).
Phase II – Phase de prolifération:
Le cale-pied peut être retiré pendant la journée. L’orthèse est portée avec la
sangle de stabilisation pour une meilleure stabilisation (voir ill.3). La nuit, le
cale-pied est mis en place pour immobiliser et stabiliser l’articulation du

Vers la fin du processus de guérison, la sangle de stabilisation est retirée.
L’orthèse peut être utilisée afin de prévenir toute nouvelle blessure et dans
le cadre d’une prévention secondaire en raison du fort taux de nouvelle rup
ture, par exemple pendant le sport ou d’autres activités (voir ill.4). Le port
de la sangle de stabilisation est facultatif.
