PPPoE/DHCPclients, large LCD display,hands-free speakerphone,telephonenumber phonebook,
direct-dial hotkeys, last number redial, incoming message indicator, and user-intuitive webadministration
system.
PLANET VIP-152T is theperfect desktop IP phonefor office or homeuse, as well as installationfor Internet
TelephonyService Provider(ITSP) fromleadingvendors. It's the deliveryplatformfor IP voice services that

1.1 Hardware Overview
1.1.1 Front View and Keypad function
¨ SystemIndication LED:When VIP-152T didn tregisterto Proxy server or having incoming call,system
indication LED will be blinking.
¨ MENU: Press to enter LCDMenuwhen in standbymode; ifalreadyin LCD Menu, press this buttoncan
return tostandbymode
¨ MUTE:
1. Mute the voice ofMicrophone and let others can thearfromuser in communication.
2. Change input mode to be digit or character mode: When configuration in LCD menu can change
input mode to be input digitonlyor input character.
¨ ▼: Move to up/down, left/right ; increase/decrease value.
¨ OK: Press OK to confirmthe modification.
¨ Flash:
1. Transfer a call. UserAcan press FLASH button when in communication with user B, then input
phone number can make call to User C, after talkwith C, Acanhang up, User B and User C can
communicate.
2. Backto upper level ofmenu: when in LCD Menu, press FLASHbutton can jump to upper level of
menu.

¨ REDIAL / HOLD:
1. Redial the last outgoing call or hold one call incommunication.
2. Upper-case/Lower-case character: change input character mode to be upper-case or lower-case.
¨ SPEAKER: Speaking without picking up handset.
¨ 5 GraphicMemorykey: User presses these keysto do speed dial according to phonebookdata 1-5
(please refer to LCDconfiguration-Phone Book, Configuring the VIP-152T throughTelnet command
lines - [pbook] command, orWeb Configuration-PhoneBookchapter).
¨ Number 1 10, * and #: The functionis as the same as the general phone set.

Configuringthe VIP-152T through LCD

1. After anyconfiguration haschanged for the VIP-152T
,user has to do rebootin the
selection “Reboot”.
2. It is suggestedto setupIP address via LCD menu Network→Get IP mode /IP
Address/
Subnet Mask /Default GW first, then go tochapter
3to do other configurations via web
browser.Ifuser need to do more detail or advanced configurations, please refer to
chapter 4and use Telnet command lines.

2.1 Initialize VIP-152T
1. After VIP-152T finish initializing, it will get into standbymode:
The main LCD screenwould be shownabove. “P2P”means the VIP-152T in Peer-to-Peer
communicationmode, and “Proxy”means the VIP-152T is in ProxyMode.

IfVIP-152T didn tregistertoProxyserver,whenVIP-152T beenoff-hook,
user will hear busy
tone instead ofdial tone, also systemLED indicationwill beblinking.
2. When VIP-152T is under peer-to-peer mode, on LCD will show “P2P”insteadof “Proxy”.

2.2 LCDMenu Configuration
User can set the following configurations via LCD keypad.

Note:
1. Press REDIAL/HOLD before input datacan switch characters to be capital or
lowercase.
2. Press MUTE before inputdatacanswitch inputmode tobecharacter mode or IP mode;
for example, user wants to enter IP address, after pressing SPEED can enter digits
directly.
3. When user is inputting data, press ▲will clear previous input data.
1. Call List
User can checkall call records in this call list menu.
(1) Missed Calls：to see all missed calls inmessage box.
(2) Received：to seeall receivedcalls in message box.
(3) Dialed No.: to seeall dialed numbers in message box.
(4) Exit: returnto upper level of LCD Menu
2. Forward
There are 3 selections in Forward type, user must select under which conditionto forwardcalls.
(1) Busy
When VIP-152T is in busystatus, the incoming call will beforwarded to the
assigned phone number.
A.Activate
Enter a forwardedphonenumber to activate busyforward function.
B. Deactivate
Deactivate BusyForward function.
C. Exit
Return to upper level ofLCD Menu
(2) No Answer
When VIP-152T has incoming call and hasn t been picked up for around 10
seconds, the incoming call will be forwarded to the assigned phone number.
A.Activate
Enter a forwardedphonenumber to activate No Answer Forward function.
B. Deactivate
Deactivate NoAnswer Forward function.
C. Exit

(3) Uncondition (Unconditional Forward)
It is included the abovetwotypes. Whether the VIP-152T is in which status, calls
will be automaticallyforwarded to the assignedphone number.
A.Activate
Enter a forwardedphonenumber to activate Unconditional Forwardfunction.
B. Deactivate
Deactivate Unconditional Forward function.
C. Exit
Return to upper level ofLCD Menu
(4) Delete All: Delete all forward activated data.
(5) Exit: Return to upper level ofLCD Menu.
3. Phone Book
1. List
List all records ofname, telephone number, and IPaddress in the phone address book.
2. Edit/Del
Edit or deletearecord ofname, telephonenumber,and IPaddress ofthe phone address
book.
3. New
Add a newrecord ofname, telephone number, and IPaddress ofthe phone address book.
4. Exit
Return to upper level ofLCD Menu
4. Ringer
1. Volume
User can adjust ring volume bypress ▼or ▲on the keypad to decrease or increase
ringer volume.
2. Style
There are three tone stylesfor VIP-152T.Move the “>”symbol bypress ▼or ▲on the
keypad to select the tonestylepreferred, thenpress OK to confirmit.

5. Network
1. Information
User can press ▼or ▲to checkcurrent networkstatus:
(1) Mode: Displaycurrent networkconnection mode ofVIP-152T to be Static (Fixed
IP), DHCP,or PPPoE.
(2) IP, Mask, Gateway: display current IPinformation.
2. Get IPMode
Set networkmode ofVIP-152T to be Fix (Fixed IP),DHCP,or PoE (PPPoE).
3. IPaddress
Set IP address ofVIP-152T.
4. Subnet Mask
Set subnetmaskaddress ofVIP-152T.
5. Default GW
Set defaultgatewayaddress ofVIP-152T.
6. DNS (Domain Name Server)
Set IPaddress ofDomain NameServer.OnceVIP-152T can connect to DNS server,user
can set URLaddress for Proxyserver or Phone bookinstead ofIPaddress.
(1) Primary
Set PrimaryDNS server IP address
(2) Secondary
Set SecondaryDNS server IPaddress
(3) Exit

7. PoE Config (PPPoE Configuration)
(1) User Name
Set PPPoE connection authentication user name.
(2) Password
Set PPPoE connection authentication password.
(3) Reconnect
Select ON or OFF toenable or disablethis function.Ifuser enables this function,after
PPPoE disconnected, VIP-152T will automaticallyreboot to re-connect, and after reboot,
ifVIP-152T still can tconnect withserver,VIP-152T will keep tryingtoconnect.On the
other hand, ifuser disables this function,VIP-152T won trebootandkeep tryingto
connect.

8. IP-Sharing
(1) IfVIP-152T is behindIPsharingor NATdevice, andVIP-152T is under
Peer-to-Peermode or Proxy mode(doesn tsupport endpoint behindNATfunction),
on IPsharingmust enable “DMZ”function or set “Virtual Server”to open ports
(UDPport: 5060 and 16384, 16385). VIP-152T must enable this IPsharing
function.
(2) User must enter public IPaddress ofIPsharing.

6. Advanced Set (can be protected bypassword)
l Password:
User must keyinpasswordtoenter this menu ifpasswordhasbeen set, itemsunder this
command are all important ones, which canonlybe configured byadvancedusers. If
passwordhasn tbeen set, user can enter this menu directlywithout entering password.

Set Proxyport for VIP-152T to send messages.
D. Expire (in seconds)
Set expire time ofregistration, in the duration of2/3 expire time, VIP-152T will

Set User Password ofVIP-152T to register toProxy Server.This configuration
is notnecessary,ifProxyserver doesn trequest clientto setpassword,user
onlyhas to setUser Name the same as Line Number.

2. SW Update
(1) Method
There are twomethods todownloadnewversionfile,pleasemove the “>“symbol by
press or ▼on the keypad to select TFTP or FTP method, then press OK to confirm
it.
(2) Sever
User hastooffer one TFTP/FTPserver IP Address and setthis IP Address viakeypad.
The IPAddress is necessaryfor upgrading VIP-152T newapplication romfile.
(3) Account
User has to input user namefor FTPserver login.It is necessaryfor upgrading
VIP-152T newapplication romfile via FTPmethod.
(4) Password
User hastoinputuserpasswordfor FTPserver login .Itis necessaryfor upgrading
VIP-152T newapplication romfile via FTPmethod.
(5) File Name
User has to press the file name ofnewapplicationromfile prepared for upgrading
(6) Version
Show versions ofall software and hardware.
(7) Upgrade
Select YES or NO to start upgrade.

Chapter 3
Configuringthe VIP-152T through Web Pages
The VIP-152T web management interface provides useran easier way to configurerather than command line
method throughTELNET.
The configuration function and steps are similar with the waythrough command line. Please refer to the
chapter 4-ConfiguringtheVIP-152T through Telnet command lines for more detail information. Belowis a
guide for user to configure via web interface.
Step 1. Browse the IP Addresspredefined via Keypad
Please enter IPaddress (user have to set via LCD menu first) ofVIP-152T in webbrowser. the default IP
address of VIP-152Tis 192.168.0.1, user can connect to VIP-152T with this default IP via standard web
browser.
Step 2. Input the login name and password
n Login name: root or administrator
User whorequestsauthorization toexecute all configuration commands needsto login with
“root”. Ifa user login with “administrator”, commands below are not functional:
1. Password: set password of login: “root”users.
2. Flash clean: cleanall current configurations
3. Rom configuration: upgrade boot sector
4. Rom configuration: upgrade whole 2msoftware file
n Password (The same withTELNET): Null (no need to keyin passwordindefault value)

Step 3. Enter the web interface main screen
After logging in machine, user can see web interface main screen as below.
Step 4. Start configuration
Most important items are Network Interface, SIPInformation, and Phone Book (in Peer-to-Peer mode).
Please remember to configure thesecommands before start to workwith VIP-152T.

Note:
After change any settings, please remember to reboot (in Reboot System)VIP-
152T so that
changes can take effect.
1. Network Interface
- IP Address: Set IP Address ofVIP-152T
- Subnet Mask: Set the Subnet MaskofVIP-152T
- Default routing gateway: Set Default routing gatewayofVIP-152T
- Get IPMode: User has to set VIP-152T to use which networkmode.
1. Fixed IP: User has to assign a fixed IP to VIP-152T.
2. DHCP: When DHCPfunction enables, VIP-152T will automaticallysearchDHCPserver after
reboot.
3. PPPoE: IfVIP-152T is workingwithPPPoEconnection,user have toset related parameters in
“PPPoE Configure “page.

Note:
IfUser set “GetIP mode”as DHCPor P
PPoE,IPaddress, SubnetMask, andDefaultrouting
gatewaywill become 0.0.0.0 and not allow to be configured.
- SNTP: Enable / Disable theSimple NetworkTime Protocol function
- SNTPServer Address: Set SNTPServer Address
When SNTPserver is available, enable VIP-152T SNTPfunction topoint toSNTPserver IP
address so that VIP-152T can get correct current time.
