ReChargX™ RX006 Instructions
For use in the Lexmark 1382620, 1382625, 1382920 and
1382925 toner cartridges
The Lexmark 1382620, 1382925, 1382920
and 1382925 are the toner cartridges most
frequently found in the Lexmark Optra S
Series, and all other machines using the
same underlying “engine” (gure 1).
This toner cartridge is quite easy to rell using
our ReChargX™ RX006 Premium Print Toner
Rell Kit.
Within these ReChargX™ RX006 Premium
Print Toner Rell Kit instructions, we will be
adding new toner and removing the waste
toner.
Step 1: Orient the Toner Cartridge
Orient the toner cartridge as you would if
installing it into the printer with the handle
toward you (gure 1).
Flip the toner cartridge over from right to left
so that the blue/green imaging drum on the
underside of the toner cartridge is facing up
(gure 2).
Step 2: Locate the Imaging Drum
Before we start working with the cartridge we will
protect the imaging drum of the toner cartridge.
The imaging drum is the blue/green roller on the
underside of the toner cartridge, shown by the
white arrows in gure 2.

Step 3: Covering the Imaging Drum with
a Sheet of Paper
This step is recommended since the imaging
drum is completely exposed and easy to damage
by scratching or contaminating with ngerprints,
affecting it’s ability to create a quality image.
Fold a sheet of paper in half and tape it to the
cartridge as shown in gure 3.
Step 4: Plug in the Hole-Making Tool
Plug in the hole-making tool included with the
ReChargX™ Tool Kit.
Turn the sand timer over and wait the full three
minutes before using the tool so it reaches
proper operating temperature; this ensures the
tool will easily penetrate the cartridge housing
(gure 4).
Step 5: Orient the Toner Cartridge
Flip the cartridge back over, from left to right
so that the handle is toward you and the arrow
decals are point away from you (gure 5).

Step 6: Determine the Toner Hopper Hole
Location
In the cartridge’s current orientation the toner
hopper hole is to be placed along the edge
closest to you just to the left of the cartridge
label, as shown by the white circles in gures
6 and 7.
Step 7: Creating the Toner Hopper Hole
Hold the ReChargX™ hole-making tool directly
over the location for the hole and press the
copper hole-making bit against the cartridge
allowing the heat of the tool to create the hole
(there is no need to use excessive force, let
the tool do the work with a minimal amount of
pressure) (gure 8).
NOTE: Once the copper tip of the hole-making tool
slowly penetrates the top of the toner cartridge,
immediately withdraw the tool and unplug it from
the wall.

Step 8: Remove the Excess Plastic From
the Hole-Making Tool
U
se the metal tip of the small at-blade
screwdriver, included in the ReChargX™ Tool
Kit, to remove the small, circular piece of
plastic that will normally remain inside the
copper hole-making bit (gure 9).
NOTE: This step needs to be completed before
the hole-making tool cools off. If the plastic
does harden inside the copper bit, plug in the
tool and remove the plastic debris as soon as it
starts to loosen from the bit.
Step 9: Add ReChargX™ RX006 Premium
Print Toner to the Toner Hopper
To ensure the toner ows freely from the bottle
during lling, make certain the cap is screwed
tightly on the bottle, then gently rock/shake
the bottle to free up the toner that may have
settled during shipping.
Next, remove the original cap from the bottle
and replace it with the plastic dispenser spout
from the ReChargX™ RX006 Toner Rell Kit.
NOTE: We recommend only using 1/3 - 1/2
of the load of toner from the bottle into your
cartridge during the rell session for this series
of cartridges. The cartridges in this series are
equipped with a sensor that will stop the cartridge
from printing if there is too much toner in the
toner hopper.
To make the adding of the toner to the toner
hopper as easy and dust-free as possible, tilt
the end of the cartridge with the hole in it up
at a 45 degree angle and slowly angle the
dispenser spout on the bottle of toner to meet
up with the hole, as shown in gure 10.
Tilting the bottle up a little more will start the
toner owing into the toner hopper.
NOTE: If at any point the toner stops owing,
simply stand the bottle upright to loosen the
toner and start the pouring process over again
(resist temptation to squeeze the bottle as it
will make a spill or mess more likely).

Step 10: Clean the Area Around the Toner
Hopper Hole Before Sealing
Unfold the yellow/orange “toner grabber” cloth
from the ReChargX™ RX006 Premium Print Toner
Rell Kit and stretch it along both dimensions (it
will stretch considerably in one dimension and
not the other). Stretching the yellow/orange
toner grabber cloth activates the toner retaining
substance that is embedded within the cloth.
You will be using this cloth to clean the outside
of the toner hopper hole to ensure the leak-proof
seal will be applied rmly and securely to the
cartridge, as shown in gure 11.
NOTE: Only use the toner grabber cloth on the
exterior of the toner cartridge around the toner
hopper hole area. Do not use the cloth to clean
any of the internal components or the cartridge
imaging drum.
Step 11: Seal the Toner Hopper Hole with
the ReChargX™ Leak-Proof Seal
Remove the protective backing from the
ReChargX™ leak-proof seal (gure 12) and
lower the seal around the toner hopper
hole.
Press rmly around the entire seal to
ensure the seal securely sticks to the toner
cartridge, as shown in gure 13.
Step 12: Plug in the Hole-Making Tool
Plug in the hole-making tool included with the
ReChargX™ Tool Kit.
Turn the sand timer over and wait the full three
minutes before using the tool so it reaches
proper operating temperature; this ensures the
tool will easily penetrate the cartridge housing
(gure 14).

Step 13: Determine the Waste Hopper
Hole Location
Rotate the cartridge 180 degrees so that the
handle is now furthest away from your body
and the arrow decals are pointing toward you.
The waste hopper hole is to be placed in the
lower right corner of the toner cartridge, as
shown by the white circles in gures 15 and 16.
Step 14: Create the Waste Hopper Hole
Hold the ReChargX™ hole-making tool directly
over the location for the hole and press the
copper hole-making bit against the cartridge
allowing the heat of the tool to create the hole
(there is no need to use excessive force, let
the tool do the work with a minimal amount of
pressure), as shown in gure 17.
NOTE: Once the copper tip of the hole-making
tool slowly penetrates the top of the toner car-
tridge, immediately withdraw the tool and unplug
it from the wall.

Step 15: Empty the Waste Toner Hopper
Now we will remove the waste toner from the
toner cartridge.
NOTE: This toner cannot be used again as
paper dust, hair, staples and other small
items can accumulate in the waste hopper.
Holding the cartridge over the newsprint,
included in the rell kit, carefully pour out
any waste toner, as shown in gure 18.
If the waste toner stops owing, stand the
cartridge up again and then re-lower the hole
over the paper (gently tapping along the side
of the toner cartridge helps to keep the toner
owing as well).
NOTE: There is no need to attempt to remove
every last bit of waste toner from the hopper,
just that which comes out easily.
Step 16: Clean the Area Around the Waste
Hopper Hole
After the waste toner has been removed from
the waste hopper, use the yellow/orange toner
grabber cloth to clean around the waste hopper
hole, as shown in gure 19, so the ReChargX™
leak-proof seal will adhere to the cartridge body
as completely as possible.
Step 17: Apply the Leak-Proof Seal
Remove the protective backing from the
ReChargX™ leak-proof seal and lower the
seal around the waste hopper hole.
Press
rmly around the entire seal to ensure the
seal securely sticks to the toner cartridge, as
shown in gure 20.

Remove the piece of paper that was used to
protect the imaging drum (gure 21).
