1 Introduction
Congratulations with your Acuity Basic; a desktop video magnier of high quality that is
especially user friendly with its touch sensitive input method.
Read this manual thoroughly before you start to use your Acuity. Information in this manual
refers to both the Acuity Basic and Acuity Basic with Switch Screen models.
This manual contains instructions on how the device needs to be installed, and describes
all of the functions of the Acuity.
2 Installation, safety and maintenance
Package contents
The package of the Acuity contains the following:
• Acuity Basic or Acuity Basic with Switch Screen
• Power adaptor
• Manual
• Remote Control and Remote Control Receiver (optional accessory)
• HDMI Cable (for Acuity Basic with Switch screen function only)
Installation
Never open up the device yourself; this will void your warranty. If you
suspect the device is in need of service or repairs, please contact your
supplier.
The Acuity will be delivered to you in a pre-assembled state. All you have to do is slide the
screen up to your preferred height, connect the adapter and switch on the device.
Adjust the tilt of the screen
The screen can be tilted by rmly holding the screen on the left and right side, and tilting
the screen in your preferred position.

Adjust the height of the screen
The height of the screen can be adjusted by rmly holding the screen on the left and right
side, and pulling the screen up or down to your preferred position.
Connecting the cables
The only cable required to be connected is the power cable. Insert the power cable into the
back of the device and then into a wall socket.
Transporting the Acuity
If the device needs to be transported it is adviced to transport it in its original packaging in order
to avoid any potential damage to the device.
Tips for usage
• Avoid direct sunlight on the screen and tableau.
• Be careful when handling the moving parts of the reading table.
• The Acuity requires little or no maintenance. If you want to clean the exterior of the
device, only use a dry cloth. The use of aggressive cleaning products like alcohol,
acetone or other chemical substances is prohibited.
• Do not use the Acuity as a support for walking, sitting down or getting up.
• Switch off the device if you do not intend to use it.
• Ensure that the Acuity is placed in a well ventilated room.
• Place the Acuity on a stable surface to prevent it from falling.
• Only use your Acuity indoors. Do not expose the device to extreme temperature
fluctuations or humidity. Do not place your Acuity next to a heat source.
• Only use the supplied cables and connect the adaptor to a wall socket outlet.
• Ensure that the Acuity is placed at a minimal distance of 10 cm / 4 inches from the edge
of the table.

3 Controls - Screen
The on/off switch of the Acuity is located at the lower right
hand side on the back of the monitor. To start up or shut-
down the device, hold it for 2 seconds until you hear the
start up or shutdown tone.
The controls of the Acuity can be found below the screen and consist of touch sensitive
pads:
3.1 Display Modes
Tap
Tap this icon to cycle through all available display modes.
Press-and-hold
Press and hold the Display Mode icon to quickly switch between your last used high contrast
mode and the full colour mode.
Swipe
Swipe from left of right to go to the next display mode in the cycle.
Swipe from right of left to go to the previous display mode in the cycle.
3.2 Zoom
Tap or press and hold the minus icon allows you to zoom out.
Tap or press and hold the plus icon allows you to zoom in.
The magnication level will be shown on screen.
3.3 Block auto focus
By tapping the magnier icon the device will refocus on your reading material
and block the auto focus on that level.
Tap a zoom button to unblock the auto focus.
3.4 Brightness
Tap
By tapping this icon you can cycle through 5 brightness levels.
3.5 Contrast
Swipe and hold
Swipe this icon from left to right and hold your nger on the right side of the rounded
rectangle to gradually increase the contrast.
Swipe this icon from right to left and hold your nger on the left side of the rounded rectangle
to gradually decrease the contrast.
Contrast can only be adjusted in high contrast modes, not in photo modes.

3.6 White Balance
Swipe and hold
Swipe this icon from left to right and hold your nger on the right side of the rounded
rectangle to gradually change the white balance to the colder, bluer side.
Swipe this icon from right to left and hold your nger on the left side of the rounded rectangle
to gradually change the white balance to the warmer, oranger side.
White balance can only be adjusted in photo modes, not in high contrast modes.
Brightness, contrast and White balance can’t be adjusted when reading aids are in use.
3.7 Advanced Reading Aids
Press-and-hold
Press and hold this icon to enter the Advanced Reading Aids menu.
The following reading aids are available:
Swipe up or down over this icon to select the desired reading aid required. Each reading aid
has 5 settings that are indicated by a number shown in the icon.
To change the setting value you can tap this icon to go to the next level or you can swipe
from right to left.
To change to a different reading aid then swipe up or down over this icon and then tap to
set the desired level of the reading aid selected.
To exit from the Advanced Reading Aids menu press and hold this icon for 2 seconds. The
reading aid will now disappear from the screen.
3.8 Tableau
The Acuity contains a tableau on which you can place your reading material. The tableau
can move from left to right and from front to back.
3.9 Brake Handle
In front of the tableau of the Acuity you will nd a single brake handle with which you can
control the movement of the tableau. The handle has 4 positions:
Left = The tableau can be moved freely.
Middle-left = Free movement from left to right.
Front to back movement can be adjusted by 5 millimeter increments
by moving the tableau.
Middle-right = Free movement from left to right, front to back movement is blocked.
Right = All movement of the tableau is blocked.

4 Controls - Remote Control
The Acuity can be used with a remote control. This remote control is sold seperately. An
overview of the available Remote Controls and their functions can be found on pages 42
and 44 of this User Manual. Contact your supplier for more information.
5 Advanced Menu
The Acuity contains an advanced menu with which you can (de)activate certain functions of
the Acuity. You can access the advanced menu by ensuring the device is switched off, then
holding the on/off button approx. 10 seconds until you hear a beep after the start up tone.
By tapping the brightness icon you can cycle through multiple screens of selectable options.
Tap the plus icon of the zoom button to highlight which mode you wish to change.
You can recognize the highlighted function by the white rounded rectangle around it.
Tap the magnier icon to activate/deactivate your selection.
To save any changes, or to exit without making changes power off the device and power it
on again.
Display modes
On the rst screen you can select
whether you want the photo mode
to have realistic or high saturation
colors and which high contrast
mode you want available in your
Acuity live mode.
The second screen shows advanced
functions.

Crop zoom
The crop zoom function
crops the image on screen
to 50% so that a zoom le-
vel of 1x can be achieved.
This function is originally off.
Sound feedback
When this function is on
you hear a beep when you
change a function. This
function is originally on.
Magnification indicator
When you zoom in or out a magnication indicator shows up in the top left corner
that shows what the magnication factor is. This function is originally on.
Zoom preset
When this function is on the device will go to the last used magnication in high
constrast modes and photo mode when you switch to these functions.
This function is originally on.
Reading aids
This will let you turn reading aids on or off individually.
These functions are originally on.
Refresh rate / frequency
Depending on your location the mains power frequency will be 50 or 60
Hertz. By selecting the right setting you will supress flickering caused by
surrounding light. This function is originally set to 50Hz.
Contrast
With this function you can turn the manual contrast adjustment on or off. This
function is originally on.
White balance
Select whether you want the ability to manually set the white balance in the photo
modes. This function is originally off.
Factory reset
By turning this function on
you will reset the device to
factory settings.
This counts for all advanced func-
tions and the last used magnifica-
tion presets.
Software version
You will nd the installed software
version of the main board and its
camera.

6 Switch Screen
Connect the HDMI cable from one of the HDMI ports at the back of the Acuity to your
computer. Press the On/Off button once to toggle between the Acuity and your computer.

1 Introduction
Félicitations pour votre Acuity: une télévisionneuse de bureau de haute qualité, très facile
à utiliser car tactile.
Lisez attentivement ce manuel avant de commencer à utiliser votre Acuity. Ce manuel fait
référence à Acuity Basic et Acuity Basic à écran de commutation.
Il explique l’installation de l’appareil et décrit toutes ces fonctions.
2 Installation, sécurité et entretien
Contenu de la boîte
La boîte de l’Acuity contient les éléments suivants:
• Acuity Basic ou Acuity Basic à écran de commutation
• Adaptateur de courant
• Manuel
• Télécommande et récepteur de commande à distance (accessoire en option)
• Câble HDMI (pour Acuity Basic à écran de commutation seulement)
Installation
N’ouvrez jamais l’appareil car cela annulerait votre garantie. Si vous
pensez que l’appareil doit être entretenu ou réparé, veuillez contacter
votre fournisseur.
L’Acuity est livré pré-assemblé. Vous devez tout simplement faire glisser l’écran jusqu’à
la hauteur souhaitée, de raccorder l’adaptateur et de mettre le périphérique sous tension.
Réglez l’inclinaison de l’écran.
L’écran peut être incliné en le tenant fermement des deux côtés (gauche et droite) et en
l’inclinant vers votre position préférée.

La hauteur de l’écran peut être réglée en le tenant fermement des deux côtés (gauche et
droite) et en le remontant ou en l’abaissant vers votre position préférée.
Connexion des câbles
Seul le cordon d’alimentation doit être raccordé. Insérez-le au dos du périphérique, puis
dans une prise murale.
Transport d’Acuity
Si l’appareil doit être transporté, il est conseillé de le faire dans son emballage d’origine an
d’éviter tout dommage potentiel.
Astuces pour l’utilisation
• Évitez lumière du soleil directe à l’écran et sur le tableau.
• Faites attention en manipulant les pièces mobiles de la table de lecture.
• L’Acuity nécessite peu, voire aucun entretien. Un chiffon sec suft pour nettoyer l’extérieur
de l’appareil. L’usage de produits nettoyants corrosifs comme l’alcool, l’acétone ou
d’autres substances chimiques, est interdit.
• N’utilisez pas l’Acuity comme une aide pour marcher, s’asseoir ou se lever/
• Éteignez l’appareil si vous ne souhaitez pas l’utiliser.
• Veillez à ce que l’Acuity soit placé dans une pièce bien aérée.
• Placez-le sur une surface stable pour l’empêcher de tomber.
• N’utilisez pas votre Acuity à l’extérieur. N’exposez pas l’appareil à de grandes variations
de températures ou à l’humidité. Ne placez pas votre Acuity près d’une source de
chaleur.
• Servez-vous seulement des câbles fournis et raccordez l’adaptateur à la prise murale.
• Veillez à le placer à une distance minimale de 10cm/4pouces du bord de la table.

3 Commandes – écran
L’interrupteur de marche/arrêt de l’Acuity se trouve sur le
côté droit inférieur au dos du moniteur. Maintenez-le pendant
2 secondes jusqu’à ce que vous entendiez la tonalité de
démarrage ou d’arrêt pour allumer ou arrêter l’appareil.
Les commandes de l’Acuity se trouvent sous l’écran sous forme de pavés tactiles:
3.1 Modes d’affichage
Toucher
Touchez cette icône pour faire déler tous les modes d’afchage disponibles.
Appuyer de façon prolongée
Appuyez de façon prolongée sur l’icône du mode d’afchage pour passer rapidement entre
votre dernier mode contraste élevé utilisé et le mode couleur.
Balayer
Balayez de gauche à droite pour passer au mode d’afchage suivant du cycle.
Balayez de droite à gauche pour passer au mode d’afchage précédent.
3.2 Zoom
Touchez ou appuyez de façon prolongée sur l’icône moins
pour un zoom arrière. Touchez ou appuyez de façon prolongée
sur l’icône plus pour un zoom avant. Le niveau d’amplication s’afchera à l’écran.
3.3 Bloquer la mise au point automatique
Lorsque vous touchez l’icône loupe, l’appareil procède à une mise au point
sur votre document à lire et bloque la mise au point automatique à ce niveau.
Touchez un bouton de zoom pour la débloquer.
3.4 Luminosité
Toucher
Toucher cette icône vous permet de faire déler les 5 niveaux de
luminosité.
3.5 Le contraste
Balayer et maintenir
Faites glisser cette icône de gauche à droite et maintenez votre doigt sur le côté droit du
rectangle arrondi pour augmenter progressivement le contraste.
Faites glisser cette icône de droite à gauche et maintenez votre doigt sur le côté gauche du
rectangle arrondi pour diminuer progressivement le contraste.
Le contraste ne peut être réglé que dans les modes de contraste élevé, pas dans les modes
photo.

3.6 La Balance des Blancs
Balayer et maintenir
Faites glisser cette icône de gauche à droite et maintenez votre doigt sur le côté droit du
rectangle arrondi pour augmenter progressivement le contraste.
Faites glisser cette icône de droite à gauche et maintenez votre doigt sur le côté gauche du
rectangle arrondi pour diminuer progressivement le contraste.
La balance des blancs ne peut être réglé que dans les modes photo, pas dans les modes
de contraste élevé.
Notez bien que la luminosité, le contraste et la balance des blancs, ne peuvent être
réglés lorsque des aides à la lecture sont utilisées.
3.7 Aides avancées à la lecture
Appuyer de façon prolongée
Appuyez de façon prolongée sur cette icône pour accéder au menu des aides avancées à la
lecture.
Les aides à la lecture suivantes sont disponibles :
Balayez vers le haut ou vers le bas cette icône pour sélectionner l’aide à la lecture requise.
Chaque aide à la lecture dispose de 5réglages indiqués par un nombre afché sur l’icône.
Après la sélection de l’aide à la lecture désirée, touchez cette icône pour la régler.
Vous pouvez toucher cette icône pour modier la valeur du réglage et passer au niveau
suivant, ou balayer de droite à gauche.
Pour passer à une autre aide à la lecture, balayez vers le haut ou vers le bas cette icône,
puis touchez-la pour dénir le niveau de l’aide sélectionnée.
Appuyez pendant 2secondes sur cette icône pour quitter le menu des aides avancées à la
lecture. L’aide à la lecture va maintenant disparaître de l’écran.
3.8 Tableau
L’Acuity est doté d’un tableau sur lequel vous pouvez placer votre document à lire. Le
tableau peut se déplacer de gauche à droite, et d’avant en arrière.
3.9 Poignée de frein
Une poignée de frein unique à l’avant du tableau de l’Acuity vous permet de contrôler ses
mouvements. La poignée a 4positions:
Gauche = Le tableau peut être déplacé librement.
Milieu-gauche = Mouvement libre de gauche à droite.
Le mouvement d’avant en arrière peut être réglé par incréments
de 5millimètres en déplaçant le tableau.
Milieu-droite = Mouvement libre de gauche à droite, le mouvement d’avant en
arrière est bloqué.
Droite = Tous les mouvements du tableau sont bloqués.

4 Commandes - Commande à distance
Il est possible d’utiliser une télécommande pour contrôler l’Acuity. Cette télécommande
se vend séparément. Un aperçu des télécommandes disponibles et de leurs fonctions se
trouve aux pages 42 et 44 de ce manuel d’utilisation. Pour plus d’informations, contactez
votre fournisseur.
5 Menu avancé
Le menu avancé de l’i-See Touch vous permet d’activer ou de désactiver certaines fonc-
tions. Pour accéder au menu avancé, éteignez l’appareil puis appuyez pendant environ
10 secondes sur le bouton de marche/arrêt jusqu’à ce que vous entendiez un bip après la
tonalité de démarrage. Vous pouvez passer par de nombreux écrans d’options à sélecti-
onner en appuyant sur l’icône de la luminosité. Touchez l’icône plus du bouton de zoom
pour mettre en surbrillance le mode à modier. Vous pouvez reconnaître la fonction mise
en évidence par le rectangle blanc arrondi autour d’elle. Touchez l’icône loupe pour activer/
désactiver votre sélection. Pour enregistrer les modications ou quitter sans procéder à
des changements, éteignez puis rallumez l’appareil.
Modes d’affichage
Sur le premier écran, vous pouvez
choisir si vous souhaitez que le
mode photo ait des couleurs réa-
listes ou des couleurs à saturation
élevée et quel mode de contraste
élevé vous souhaitez disposer dans
votre mode actif Acuity.
Le second écran montre les foncti-
ons avancées.
Recadrer le zoom
La fonction recadrer le
zoom rogne l’image à
l’écran de 50 % pour obtenir un ni-
veau de zoom de 1x. Cette fonction
n’est pas activée à l’origine.
Feed-back sonore
Lorsque cette fonction est
activée, vous entendez un
bip lors du changement de fonction.
Cette fonction est activée à l’origine.

Indicateur de grossissement
Lorsque vous effectuez un zoom avant ou arrière, un indicateur de grossissement
apparaît dans le coin supérieur gauche ; il indique le facteur d’agrandissement.
Cette fonction est activée à l’origine.
Préréglage du zoom
Lorsque cette fonction est activée, l’appareil passe au dernier grossissement uti-
lisé dans les modes à contraste élevé et le mode photo lorsque vous passez à ces
fonctions. Cette fonction est activée à l’origine.
Aides à la lecture
Ceci va vous permettre d’activer ou de désactiver les
aides à la lecture individuellement. Ces fonctions sont
prises en charge à l’origine.
Rythme/fréquence de rafraîchissement
En fonction de votre position géographique, la fréquence d’alimentation
principale sera soit 50 ou 60 Hertz. En sélectionnant le bon réglage pour
l’Acuity, vous supprimez le scintillement causé par les sources lumineuses environnantes.
Cette fonction est réglée au départ sur 50 Hz.
Contraste
Ce réglage vous permet d’activer ou de désactiver le réglage manuel du con-
traste. Cette fonction est activée par défaut.
Balance des blancs
Ce réglage vous permet d’activer ou de désactiver le réglage manuel de la balance
des blancs. Cette fonction est désactivée par défaut.
Restauration des paramètres
d’usine
En activant cette fonc-
tion, vous allez réinitialiser
l’appareil et revenir aux
paramètres d’usine.
Cela compte pour toutes les foncti-
ons avancées et les préréglages de
grossissement utilisés en dernier
lieu.
Version de logiciel
Sur la troisième et dernière page des paramètres avancés, vous trouverez la version du
logiciel installée.
